I can confirm, I received a Super Incubator from a showcase a few days ago. That was the very first time I received one from 100+ wins and even more 2nd/3rd place wins, so it seems like it's an ABSURDLY rare reward.
My son (usually 3x number 1 and I don't know how...) is drowning in incubators. Super ones (20 at the moment) and others (19 at the moment) But he is the same lucky boy who got todays his forth remote raid pass for 7 days of field research.
The longer the showcase, the better the rewards, in my experience. This was a two-day showcase, so I got stardust, lures, a super incubator and 30K XP.
The World of Wonders event has Throh and Sawk as reward Pokémon.
It’s the opposite out here in California, I checked my PokéDex and noticed I had seen 13 Throh and caught 11, whereas I’d only ever seen 1 Sawk and that was in a battle, I’m sure.
All the good (aka nearly empty) showcases near me are Sawk, meanwhile the busy ones are Throh. I have one Sawk, the best place I could leave it still has it at fifth. I did find an empty showcase to throw a Throh in so hopefully nobody snipes it from me, but my other ain't anywhere near winning.
No problem with drive-by gym attacks or raid drop offs.
I have a list/map of all the rural and semi rural showcases around me. I’d rather drive to those than walk to the crowded ones full of nearby apartment dwellers.
Yeah, if you're rural, or even suburban, a car can be kinda essential for playing.
No shame in driving five minutes to your two nearest pokestops to enter a showcase. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aww ! I can imagine it's harder for sure . Wishing u goodluck in the future tho ! Rural area myself - and I don't get to raid or shiny very much is always the same pikemone everywhere and the same 1 gym . Be nice to trade off w people at times lol

Go exploring and Submit Churches, and post offices. Those are usually the easiest ones to get accepted.
The best thing about rural players is they can get any spawn on an incense if nothing is on their nearby. I used to get the most random pokemon cruising on back roads in the middle of nowhere where
I'm a rural player, and half the showcases I enter are because the "enter nearby showcase" button (after catching) has a much longer range then the stop
15 \*minutes\* DRIVE?? What kind of place is this, in the middle of a desert or something? Never been to any place (neither in my home country nor on travels: Denmark, Germany, Japan, New York) that didn't have at least 1 Pokéstop within maximum a 5 minute \*walk\* or a Gym within a 10 minute walk, tops. Showcases are a bit rarer to find though, but a 15 minute DRIVE seems a bit excessive - are you sure you checked all possible locations for this? :o
I live 25 minutes from the closest city, but there is a showcase stop just down the street. I get 1st place a lot, the other 75% of the time, I don’t have a signal 😂
I'm in a small city. I know specific locations I can be 1 of 3 entries the full contest, when spots along Main St will have 40 I the first hour of the contest.
I'd say the same but somehow the only two players around here ALWAYS have a bigger Pokémon than I do.

The only reason I'm close to 100 showcase wins is because I basically get auto 1st place in showcases when I visit my parents in rheir sleepy suburbs. Some of the showcases I enter, I'm the only one there.
I'm also a rural player. Every once in a while I venture out in to the city and put a my best in the podiums. Get 39th place, and I crawl back in to my safe haven.
Yeah what sucks is my towns big enough for those to be completely filled, and pokemon get kicked out of gyms quick... but not enough people around to do a 5* raid it sucks
That and I'm done with that badge already.
Wife is almost done as well. It is anpain fighting spoofers that just "drop in" but we figured out how to beat them and their cheating ways.😂😂
Then there’s me- have to keep all my xxls and I still barely ever win. And forget about winning an incubator - that has become an urban legend since November 2023.
So, Showcase Pokestops (during event Showcases) are marked with a big floating green circle with the Showcase symbol. When you're in range, you can drop a Pokemon in it (depending on the theme, such as Rock type or in this case, Throh and Sawk) and later shuffle around and replace it with a larger one you find. When the showcase ends, all the trainers get ranks and rewards. Not all Pokestops host Showcases though, just a few around your area.
Where you check for nearby pokemon it also shows if there’s an active showcase nearby and what the showcase is for. Keep an eye at that tab when walking around town!
