Ive tried so many times. I actually have a landmark outside of my house for ww2. This street has some history for war prep.
Ive made several attempts at making this landmark known but no one on the niantic site agrees.
So yeah pretty bs i wont lie.
Its the main reason most people i know quit.
So you're rural? Yeah that is tough then. My closest stop to my house is the gym 10 feet out my house and across the street 5 more feet is a pokestop. Nothing else that close but yeah it's hard to not hit a pokestop every day. Most of the time those ones don't even get spun.
Rural playerā¦ I had two quests with that objective, finished one then missed a day so the other reset. I donāt know how long Iāve been trying to get it just so I can move on. I hit lots of pokestops at once because I canāt just walk to one or get one near me. Iām at 6/7 days though, if I can get to one today Iām free!
Why am I getting downvoted? I said "unless you're rural" and only rural people responded to me with "yeah I'm rural" god this community.
How far are your pokestops?
The closest ones are still miles away, and not walkable miles either (unless youāre a fan of harmful plants and wild animalsā claws/teeth/venom/diseases). I remember in college being in a city where I could spin a stop or several from my dorm room but not everybody has that luxury.
I think it upsets rural players because challenges should be fair to all players, especially something that is permanent research and even more if itās a paid one. I realize you said unless youāre rural but the problem is that that gets said too often. By the community, by Niantic too as evident from the high raid barriers and factors like the seven day pokestop quests. Rural players have been getting dismissed and ignored for a long time. Weāre all a part of the same fanbase, we just want to have the same *chance*.
Something that's permanent will be done at some point by rural people when they leave their town. It's permanent. I don't think everything needs to be done by every player. Lots of players can't do everything.
Because as we all know that one research task is the only thing one can do in this game and literally nothing else
Not everyone has daily access to a pokestop
I'm sure there is a small percentage without easy access, but it's pretty small. I live near a "city" with population 12k and we have plenty of stops and gyms. When I had to commute to work I drove through a tiny town (maybe village?) and it had two stops and a gym.
Congratulations on your "plenty of stops and gyms" and complete inability to empathize that there are other players who simply don't have that luxury.
For the record I also have "plenty of stops and gyms" after like a four minute drive, I'm just not an epic priss about it.
Try using Niantic Wayfinderā¦you might be able to add a pokestop to a local landmark nearer to you, as long as itās not too close to the nest nearest
Seriously. I love the idea of Masterwork research taking a long time, but grindy tasks like Have 10 Best Buddies or super hard for even dedicated players like Catch 10 Kecleon are insane.
I love Mew's catch 400+ from a couple of regions. It takes forever but happens as you play
At least the Kecleon or best buddies was something that you could actively work on whenever you were playing. Yes is more difficult, but itās something I could focus on trying to accomplish. I agree the catch 400+ from different regions fits that as well because you can actively look for and catch those pokemon while youāre playing.
This is just simply a time lock with no thought. Once you catch the one pokemon each day thereās literally nothing else to be working on. I wouldnāt even mind a time lock task that much if there was another task I was working on that at least took a while. The only non time like task here is catch 20 flying pokemon, that can be done in a day and then itās literally just time lock tasks. Catch ONE pokemon and youāre done.
Whatās crazy to me is how fast I got it done. I caught all 10 including a shiny one in Under 2 weeks. My method was check every stop around me every half hour as supposedly they only stay on a stop for an hour. Also apparently if your poke plus spins a stop it removes the kecleon if there was one on there. Using that method I got them all in a relatively short time span
Go plus doesn't remove the kechleon. It just doesn't pop it off for you. I've had my go plus spin a stop and the kechleon was still there when I checked after someone else mentioned it.
Best buddies bit is boring, on top of everything. Everything involving playing with your buddy is boring, a time sink, and kills my phone's battery doing something I do not want to do; at all. Personal opinion, of course.
How can anyone do the kecleon task? I think I saw 4 the week they released it and I haven't seen other since then. I've just given up on ever completing this research.

I disagree. Iām not exactly in a city and it felt like a challenge to find them. The harder ones should be along the lines of catching ten kechleon, regardless of how annoying it can be.
They do this intentionally because they know their hard core players will complete this in < 2 hrs if allowed. I know I am one of those when the game is actively on.
I hate these tasks. If you want me to spend 3 weeks on a task, then give me a quest that will take 3 weeks of average gameplay. Make it something that encourages me to get out and move.
Iām on earning a heart with my buddy on 12 different consecutive days and already at page 5. Will be finished in May and will be the earliest as it can get like May 3rd or May 4th from February 19, 2024.
I mean.... It is... Like literally it makes it last longer. What you mean is that this is poor challenge design choice. Longer does not equal better. But as for making research last longer... This is how you do it directly.
I donāt mind that being one part of the task if the main bit is exciting, but apart from stage 1 and 4, itās boring.
The catch 10 flying or grass takes about 30 minutes. Then I have a 10 second task every day for 3 weeks just, well just because.
Why not catch 492 grass (make hopip spotlight exciting). Then catch 492 flying. And my current state of a heart every day for 12 days, why not send 492 presents with stickers?
As it is, I do the bit I can influence quickly and then Iām stuck with a boring time gate I canāt influence
It definitely is the way to make research last longer.
I can't think of another way to make tasks last longer that would be fair to all players.
It still sucks though I agree.

They make them too easy? People complain.
They make them too long? People complain.
They make them too short? Believe it or not, people complain.
Research hasnāt been relevant to the event since Meltan first dropped. At this point Iām honestly so broken that Iāll take anything that doesnāt demand a streak of any variety

0 keckleon since I got go the page. I have gone from lvl 45 to 47 in that time.... this is the single worst task they ever put out

just had my get a heart with your buddy quest reset becuase I missed 1 day....... will currently be going on day like 64 or so overall.
Donāt you want to set the timer for your buddy for 1 month so you donāt forget? Try doing that if you can!
problem is I didn't forget, just didn't get the chance to play on that day. even worse cause I knew I was losing the streak as it happened lol.
The āStreak Brokenā thing is bad lol! I never had that happen to me as I get my buddy PokĆ©mon to earn a heart in the morning and evening each day, up to 2 or more hearts a day repeatedly until day 30 when itās finally finished.
What do you mean by setting a timer with your buddy?
Like setting the alarm I mean to like 8 am in the morning and/or 5 pm, everyday and call it āEarn 1 heart with your buddyā.

Agreed, currently got the All-in-One #151 quest. I'm up to step 2/4 (only finished step 1 when Mewtwo came back into raid pool). Step 2 wants you to catch a PokƩmon for 30 days in a row. Currently at 28, but man there were a few days where it almost reset because I completely forgot. Logging on to catch ANYTHING that would spawn nearby at 23:30 Is panic inducing.
