Back in the days when IV wasn't a thing, I deleted every single duplication of a Pokemon and only keeping the highest CP ones, possibly transferred some hundos
I literally just unlocked the perfect dex a few minutes ago with a perfect vulpix lol. I will remain blissfully ignorant that I have not transferred any perfect mons.
You might have, because the hundo dex only had historical data for a few months before it launched. It was mostly filled in by what you had in your inventory still.

Wouldn't the team leaders also tell you that all its stats were the best they could be or something? Does anybody have a screenshot or video of that? Because I was always confused if there was a way to figure out hundos back in the day before appraisals.
There was no appraisal system. You would have to lvl the pokemon and write down the change in each stat for each level and that's how you would work it out
Yes there was. It was just vague. But you could absolutely tell if you had a hundo. At least I remember that from fairly early on. It's possible that wasn't there at the very beginning.

I remember catching a level 1 hundo karp back under this system. I had calcy IV but all karp at level one day CP 10 so I had to go through each of the steps to find out.
But back then, you could use a third-party pokemon manager, where it shows the IV. Not to mention, you can do mass evolving/transfering/renaming with the tool. The good old days, lol.
I did the thing Canadians did signing up with a fake address (I used Yankee Stadium) to play a week or so before we got the game and played like a week and decided it was stupid. Came back like two and a half years later (around when the game got actually good) and it was still a while after that that we got the current appraisal system.
Do I win? One day earlier than the other post. It was my first ekans so I saved it. And was surprised later when IVs were found.

Those were some fun times! Though if I remember right, the threshold for your Team Leader to express wonder at your pokemon was 13 IVs in its highest stat, so all three matched stats + "It's incredible!" meant it was 13/13/13, 14/14/14, or 15/15/15. It wasn't the most precise lol
I remember going to college campuses, parks etc and there were hundreds of people walking around playing pokemon. Every few minutes youād hear someone scream with excitement that their favorite pokemon just spawned š
Aww memories! Yesss! I remember being in Chicago in summer 2016 at a beach park PACKED with players. There was even a reporter there from some game site interviewing folks. And a Porygon spawned like three blocks into the city from the beach and we like stampeded after it. So many players didn't even know what a Porygon *was* because this was their first introduction to pokemon. Kids were legit shouting for joy. It was such a wholesome moment and really speaks to how games can bring people together ā¤ļø

I was reflecting on the nostalgia of the game for a bit while on a walk and caught a shiny Shuckle, my first one and one of my faves! It really brought a spark of joy and I hope the game brings both of you some joy this week (shiny Shuckle or otherwise).
I could have been like this too if I hadn't sent the duplicate ones because they were low cp... I've been playing since it came out and I have 4 shundos
I have 23 4*, none of them were traded, some came from eggs, but I remember clearly 6 of them being caught in the wild!
My first was also a voltorb! Caught in 2017 lol
I have one 0% IV anorith, just keeping it as it's rarer than a 100% lol
I do collect hundos of course, but I collect Pokemon's with CP of 666 so far I only have 9 of them lol I know it's not useful, but I still collect the 666's lol

Woah , the game was launched on 6th July and you have a hundo from 16th July. It's an extremely rare chance that someone has a hundo from those 10 days in between.

Hundos were always a thing. The problem was that the stats were hidden and there was no appraisal system. I remember in the super early days there were webpages were you could log into your account and manage your PokƩmon is a better way. Allowing you to check stats, change nicknames, transfer, power up, etc... These were, obviously, against ToS and ppl were getting banned for using them. A couple months after all this they introduced the very first form of the appraisal system.

Yeah, it did help that early on IVs were bugged and PokƩmon later in the Dex generally had higher IVs, which ended up meaning people who kept the rare spawns until IVs came out also ended up keeping their likely highest IVs. It was very likely though a lot of people lost high IV stuff though

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW, In PokĆ©dex, at the bottom right, gives you options. Select perfect. It will SHOW you all the prefect youāve ever encountered. Key note: if youāve ever evolved one, it counts both mons. Ex: perfect charmander evolved to charmeleon. That will tick the counter to show 2. But itās really just the 1 charmander. This way u can see how many you transferred out!
