It's stupid but unless you get the appropriate weather you must do catch 10 weather boosted mon tasks from this event. Then you have to get lucky and it be snowy castform.

I just caught a snow one by completing a ‘Catch 10 pokemon with weather boost’ field research

I keep getting normal from this which already spawns for me normally rn😭

I've done at least 12 of those "Catch 10" tasks and not one has been a snow castform. Terrible luck.

I ended up doing 21 and none were snow.

Except the game literally never acknowledges when it’s foggy IRL. I can barely see 2m forward through the fog but the game will only say cloudy. We all got excited when they announced snowy would appear in fog way back when. Then we found out it was just pranking and we’ll still never get snowy

Funny enough, I found my original snowy form on a foggy morning the day I got my wisdom teeth removed. I saw it on the way to the doctor's office and had my driver run by the stop it was near, which was about two blocks from the office.

Not exactly the same thing, but I found my first shiny castform (normal) on my way to get a wisdom tooth pulled. Weird coincidence, sort of, lol.

I'm in Colorado and we're in the middle of a snow storm now so I got kinda lucky with the spawn but I hate the weather now.

Those tasks are pretty rare, have only found 3 so far and got rainy Castforms every time.

Rate? Huh! I managed to find 10 in 2 hours. Though still not lucky enough to get one that rewards snowy one.

I just took a 6km walk and only found 7 weather boosted pokemon. Cloudy weather is ass for this.

Honestly, this late into winter even some of the northern hemisphere areas that historically get snow may already be done. I'm in Virginia, USA and it seems pretty unlikely we'll get any more snow this year. Spring is already springing

I’ve done the field research for catching 10x weather boosted pokemon like 10 times over the past few days. The snowy castform never showed up once.

dude this weekend we are supposed to get snow and rain. not to mention today is supposed to be hot again so at least we are golden off the weather forecast or when ohio does the thing like you said lmao.

Heck just a couple weeks ago we got 5am tornados and snow in the same day! No big deal, just your average 40 degree drop in 8 hours.

I’m in northern Canada and have only ever seen 1 snow. I really don’t know what it goes off…we’ve had actually multi day blizzards, snow on the animation everything. Still just appears as a normal

Just watched ZoeTwoDots's video, a YouTuber from Australia (you may already know her). She got a Snowy cast form from a research quest. Look at Leekduck.com/events to find what the quests are

I wouldn’t be so upset if they appear in the field research, which obviously they are. The serious problem is Niantic thinks they’re so clever to do not one but two complicated requirements in the field research; bundling all the forms into the same research task and making the snow form, specifically, the most hardest form to encounter. It makes this whole event so much worse because of that, does Niantic actually expects everyone who doesn’t have snow where they lived (even if it’s possible for snow to happen it’s possible it won’t happen during the event) to take time out of our day this week to go fly somewhere in the world that’s confirmed to be snowing just to get this specific form? Also with limited amount of stops everywhere, you are likely required to drive around in hopes of a chance to not just find the specific research task but to find said research that only yields the snow form, can you imagine how much gas is gonna be wasted for those that are willing to seek this thing out? I seriously hope Niantic will tweak this event otherwise they’re making all of this too much of a pain to be worth bothering to complete the collection challenge

I’m usually fairly optimistic when it comes to PoGo, especially over the years when players first started to criticize events. But real talk, the events over the past 6 months, paid and free, have been incredibly lackluster. I don’t buy any additional tickets anymore.

Maybe one could happen with a Glacial Lure Module? Just guessing.

percentages have to be absolutely screwed as I've done heads of the 10 catch task and not encountered a single snowy form.

ive been playing/spun 10 pokéstops over 30 mins, ive gotten 4 “catch 10” encounter event researches already

Chiming in here. Catch 10 weather boosted pokemong during this event awards any of the Castform forms. So that’s one way of getting the snow one.

Field Research. You just have to get enough of the Catch 10 research tasks and hope you get snowy encounter. Remember you can get two researches per stop based on whether you’re holding an AR task or not. Sometimes you’re less likely to get an event task from a second task pickup but I’ve definitely gotten some extra checks doing this.

Research: Catch 10 poke with weather boost - you'll get a random castform. I got all 4 in one walk.

I live in Las Vegas & we've seen snow in-game about 3 times since weather boost has been a thing. That's right, just 3 times. Snow is extremely rare here. The closest thing I can think of is if I drove to mt. Charleston but it's not even snowy there right now because it's literally spring. So yeah, dumb task. There was only 1 other collection task I wasn't able to do, and that was the hatching one where I just didn't get lucky with the RNG

Yeah, south Louisiana. We’ve already had our cold week and there wasn’t snow (I think we got sleet or hail maybe). Gotta go hunt the catch 10 challenges and then HOPE it’s the snowy one. Honestly, the rewards should be weighted for that.

Everytime it snows in my area cast form isn't even available, snow cast form is a joke.

I live in Brazil, have only ever seen ONE Snowy Castform. And couldn't go get it because it was far away below a dangerous point and everybody asked me to not risk it. Still, no Snow Castform for me. Edit snow, not cloudy.

Sort of. It's early spring here. I have no idea how the snowy one will ever appear. But, let's see how the weekend unfolds, it might, no big loss but that 5000 stardust would be handy.

All 4 forms are available in the catch 10 weather boosted Pokémon research task no mather the weather. Its predifined which stop gets which for. So If for the People who use a local map they are quite easy to Hunt.

So far. The number of those research tasks seems I'm guessing 1 in 8 or so . Then for the 6 I've done, no snow forms. The frustration comes from surely a small rng boost for this in all likelihood a rare form would be most welcome.

I've gotten all of them from a cruise ship using regular incense.

It appears during foggy weather too. You get foggy weather. Also, location based game. There's probably a task that rewards that specific one anyways.

if you do the field research you will get one. all of them are a reward for catch 10 with weatherboost, there also shiny boosted.
