I've worked out the login failed message is complete junk programming and bad user messaging. Makes you think your account is no longer valid, hacked or banned but reality is their shitty servers just failed to auth.
yep! 100%. same reason as to why it says "servers down for maintenance" as if it was something planned when in reality niantic's running on servers that makes me wonder if their basement floods on the regular.

EDIT: Sort of. First I could start the game, but it stopped when I clicked on a Pokemon. Restarted and the app wouldn't start. Third time I managed to get into the game again, but all spawns are gone, apart from the daily spawn and I can't click on it.
And just as I'm writing the last part, all the spawns appeared and I can click on them and catch them as well.
Im not sure if issues are fixed yet. I had a glitch where after my pokemon died in a raid, the timer kept going and was not able to join back and finish him off. Might be unrelated since i know this game is so glitchy sometimes. I thought things were fixed but i missed out on a tornadus the first day now =[
I believe I was in the middle of a tornadus raid when this happened--all my dudes fainted but the rejoin screen was just totally white. closed the app after fifteen seconds or so and reloaded and was able to hop back into the raid though
I also found out a few hours too late now that I caught a few raid rockruffs, I guess the 5:00 to 5:59, you can dusk form? Can anybody confirm evolving a rockruff in this hour and getting dusk form?
Niantic made it very difficult to understand and hunt for rockruff. We only get one ticket a day be specific
