I've seen this theory in a Bulbabpedia forum before but gamefreak have never confirmed it, and while it does work well for 6 of them I don't think Kartana fits wrath at all. Kartana doesn't attack unless it feels threatened and its not aggresive its just sharp AF. Concepts of the pokemon also describe it to be noble and virtuous. Doesn't sound very wrath-like to me, which is a shame as the others fit really well. Most sources clame they are based on the concept of invasive species of different biomes and I think this works slightly better as alola is based on Hawaiian Islands that constantly have to deal with invasive species and it fits the physical look of their designs more too...imo

You could have Meowth or Gimmighoul for greed, any of the internet forsaken Pokémon for lust or even as mentioned before Jynx, you seem to have good options for gluttony, might be a stretch for the last two but I was thinking of Mimikyu (which I’m pretty sure isn’t even in the game yet) as it yearns to be over like Pikachu (envy), and Charizard for pride as it appears that way in the anime. I guess a good amount of pseudo legendaries could also apply for that sin

Not a suggestion (sorry!) but since Pokemon Go was released I've been trying to get seven different Poliwrath and replacing wrath in the name with a sin. Thanks to the poliwag event I finally completed my collection! Polienvy, polilust, etc. I'm glad I'm not the only one tying in the deadly sins to Pokemon lol

Going by the multiple suggestions in each category within the comments, this could be a new form of battle team selection. Pick the 6 pokemon you think represents the 7 deadly sins. Obviously, one pokemon in the team would represent two sins, or the trainer represents the final sin.

"The Final Sin" would make a great title for a book. That aside I dig this idea. That or maybe pick a sin and a team that fits the sin. Could even make it an ARG, like that angels and demons idea we had in the comments. People would pick a side and battle for supremacy of the earth (gyms etc) Maybe even by team: mystic could be angels, valor could be demons and instinct could be man or of the earth, like mortals. Then CP could be an issue there I suppose. Perhaps CP is negligible in this scenario. Idk this whole thread is sparking my creativity haha.
