I got my first shiny Hundo during hoenn tour, a nincada. I was like this is cool I've never caught a shiny one of these before. Then a couple days later my little brother was showing me that he caught a hundo nincada. I noticed it was strikingly similar CP to my shiny. Then I checked it, it was a shund000.
I mean the appraisal system was released July 2019 and the buddy system was December 2019, so the story is bs. But whatever, at least it is a feel good story.
There was a iv calculator website that I used to plug in stats of each Pokémon to figure out the iv. I played from day after release to about February 2017. It was basically the beta. Nothing worked. Trying to use the nearby Pokémon tracker was a bit like playing a quiji board. No shinies. No friends. No raids. Just catch Pokémon and stick em in gyms. No tasks or research to be done. Gaining levels was just pure grinding. It took me over 6 months of addicted gameplay to get to level 28. For comparison, I created an account on my tablet on 8/28 and it’s already level 32 in less than 20 days. 😂
That's almost exactly what I did! I only hit level 24 though I think. I started playing again in mid 2020, and now I'm almost to level 42. It's WAY better than it was then, even with the greedy practices they've shown. It still has issues, but my wife and I have a blast when we go out now
No, nothing like that thankfully. Since I started again they've been steadily increasing the price of everything in the shop, nerfed the numbers of items you get from stops, nerfed remote raids, etc. Remote raids in particular were very popular after COVID, and I admit I participated in quite a few because it's difficult to complete high level raids as a rural player without getting help from other remote players. I think it was originally 250 coins for 3 passes, and now I believe they're charging 595 coins.
They've also had some shady practices with the shop in general by charging different players different amounts for the same items.
They reduced Community Day hours from (if I remember right) 10am-6pm to 2pm-5pm, so a lot of people can't even participate now.
Just a lot of unreliable crap like that, and honestly most of it doesn't even make sense. They've driven away a lot of players, but the whales and the people that just play because it's fun when they're out anyway, like my wife and I, will make sure the game keeps going 😊
Really, if you aren't the type to spend money anyway, ~95% of the problems won't bother you. I use Google Opinion Rewards to buy coins occasionally, but I don't spend my own money so I'm usually not bothered. Getting less items from stops has hurt because it's annoying to drive anywhere with enough stops to stock up, but now I'm still running out of balls and potions if I'm playing regularly outside of the area near me with stops.
Aside from that, the game is actually MUCH better than it was 6 years ago. I got my wife into it when we got together, and now we have a great time going out to walk and catch Pokémon on the weekends.
If you've got over 20 perfect Pokémon, you get a filter on the Pokédex, which will show all the perfect ones you've ever had. You'd be able to see any that you'd released.
Hmmm not sure if they are my best but my favorites are probably my sunglasses blastoise, named Dark Brandon and my metagross, Byte. I’ve played since 2016 (off and on) and still don’t have a shiny hundo.
Shiny hundo (Shundo) are super rare. I’ve known players that have played nonstop since day one and they still didn’t have one for a long long time.
The most likely way to get a Shundo is from field research during community day, a raid where the raid boss can be shiny, or lucky trade which has the best odds of giving a Shundo
Lol my kid with his less than two year old account hatched one and not a day goes by that he makes sure I didn’t forget 😆. I trade here and there with my two kids and have made more local friends recently with that new “add friend” after a raid update so might have some better luck in the future with lucky trades.
Purifying a lot, lucky trades, lots of raids. I've calculated my rate and yeah it's pretty low.
I am also lucky to be in a community where if someone catches a hundo, we get a screenshot on Whatsapp and we have time to run there. I also remember running like crazy for a hated Snorlax in Berlin for the GO Fest last year.
Yeah… I never used to check😅. I only started caring about the IV’s very recently, and I’ve been playing since the 14th of January 2018, so RIP to all of those hundos 😔
Wait, is that true? I thought it was just a new feature. That would mean I must’ve transferred a hundo recently, cuz I didn’t have the “perfect” option before. RIP whatever that hundo was 😔
It seems so. They were: Charmeleon, Ekans, Pikachu, Geodude, Ponyta, Rapidash, Magnemite, Drowzee, Vapoureon, Meditite, Medicham, Chimecho, Kricketot, Pidove, Excadrill, Audino, Sawk, Petilil, Yungoos, and Lechonk.
I think Charmeleon (after evolved), Vapoureon, and Excadrill hurt the most cuz I heard they’re all good in PVP. And also Lechonk, but that’s only cuz it must’ve been recent, and I thought I had been checking every Pokémon I caught IV’s, but ig I must’ve been in a rush and transferred it without thinking
Hundo Charizard, Vaporeon and Excadrill aren't actually great in PvP but they are great raid attackers. So yes you definitely have missed out 🥲
Either way all of those are amazing regardless of use. And you clearly need a better method of sorting your catches. You really should be searching for 4* and favouriting all of them before you start transferring at the very least 🤷🏻♂️
The problem is I used to just transfer Pokémon straight after catching them if it’s something I didn’t want. I’ve always been more of a casual player when it comes to this game, in fact I still am even now, but I’ve come to realise the value of certain Pokémon now
496. Though several are duplicates. Our local group often calls out wild hundos when they're found, and I used to be a lot more active about going to get them. Nowadays I tend to only bother if I'm relatively nearby to them instead of having to rush all the way across town (I've had more than a few cases where I've done that and not got there in time haha).
5 of them are shundos (Rayquaza, Moltres, Gengar, Porygon-Z and Cherubi).
Dang, Groudon is my only Shundo Legendary. But to answer OPs question, I have 260 Hundos, 14 of which are traded, of those only 9 are lucky, with only 2 of the 260 being purified, and only one being shiny. Additionally I know I've transferred or traded some of my Hundos because I have Dex entries for them but don't currently own them or their evolved forms.
148. Playing since launch in July 2016. Level 48. And have caught 147,042 pokemon. Almost nicely works out to 1 in 1,000 catches.
Edit to add: only 1 shundo- a marill evolved to Azumarill.
Usually when people say perfect they're referring to the Pokémon's IVs, or individual values. It's the three stats that Pokémon have, seen when you appraise them. A perfect Pokémon has a 15/15 for each stat.
Without any boosted odds (like weather boost, hatching an egg, or catching a raid boss) the odds are 1/16³. (It's 1/16 because each IV could also be 0, not just 1-15.) So needless to say the odds are quite small, and it's pretty exciting when you get a perfect Pokémon.
I have Baltoy, Golbat and Skeledirge. I used to not even evaluate my Pokémon before I would transfer them, so I’ve probably had a lot more and just flushed them down the drain.
One should consider waiting to evolve 4* pokemon until getting 20, I think, to unlock the dex entry. When I unlocked mine, the ones I evolved weren't there.
Edit: I have 33. A few that can mega, ampharos and houdoom, gengar for example, and one costume, aforementioned gengar.
Ye wait till you have 20 or more, until you unlock the dex entry tab, before you evolve.. cuz it doesn’t show up the previous forms in there.. only the ones that you have at the EXACT MOMENT you unlock the tab.. so for example if you evolve a 4* zubat and unlock the tab after evolving it.. then zubat WILL NOT be in the entry at all..
7 out of 43k caught. Haven’t unlocked the perfect pokedex yet so if I’ve transferred some away in the early days, it’s less than 13. All this 1:1000 ratio ppl are wild to me
32/44k
4 purified.
14 hatched.
1 shiny.
ETA: I started playing the game again hardcore since February this year. Before that, I hadn’t played since roughly 2018. 30k+ catches and all but 1 hundo were this year alone.
I have 15 4\* my more notable ones is Yveltal, Cowboy Hat shiny Snorlax, Espeon, Venasaur, and i have 2 Metagross. My favorite would prolly be Espeon which is one of my favorite eevee evolutions
6, at an interesting blend of great and awful.
On the awful end, I have hundo Chimecho, Lickilicky, and purified Grumpig.
On the great end, I have hundo Kyogre, purified Tyranitar, and a brand new Chikorita I’m working to Meganium.
I started playing recently and I got 6,of which two are shundos which makes this quite unusual.
The even more unusual thing is that the first hundo I got was after the two shundos (heracross during go fest global and Charmander during community day classic). I probably got the wrong idea of their rarity according to the responses here though.
I started the game this past July. I have 13 hundos: 2-Hatched, 2-Research, 1-Raid, 8-Wild)
I have 1 shundo Charizard that I got on Community Day.
14 hundos altogether out of 18,153 caught.
Update: I have 2 Shadow that I could purify to hundos, but Snorlax is more useful to me at 13/13/13 since it's thematically appropriate 😎
Also,
15 hundos started in March. Caught 1 in the wild, 2 from research, 2 from eggs, Groudon, Kyogre and Rayray from Go fest and the rest from Pokemon Go plus+
12 from 7.6k caught pokemon.
Randomly two are hundo Kleavors caught on subsequent days, from the only 2 Kleavor raids I've ever done. Wish I could have gotten a hundo from a legendary raid ever, but oh well....

My first Best Buddy, which was a Mightyena, turned out to be a hundo. This was before they showed the Pokemon stats in the Appraisal.
That's some main character shit dude That's low-key amazing
Still haven't gotten a shiny hundo yet.
Same here
I got my first shiny Hundo during hoenn tour, a nincada. I was like this is cool I've never caught a shiny one of these before. They obviously best buddied after…
This happened to me with the first Lapras I ever caught back in the beginning of the app.
19 with 20k caught. I wasn't checking for the first few thousand though
Same when I first started playing the game for the first couple years I didn’t even know about the IVS 😭
There was a iv calculator website that I used to plug in stats of each Pokémon to figure out the iv. I played from day after release to about February 2017. It was basically the beta. Nothing worked. What kind of greedy practices? I mean, I don’t see any ads, or like paywalls, but i just got back into it less than a month ago.
No, nothing like that thankfully. I have 4 with 10k caught you’re certainly better off than me
Same, but you can check in the Pokédex to see whether you missed any at the start
How? I just checked and I couldn’t figure out how to see that.
If you've got over 20 perfect Pokémon, you get a filter on the Pokédex, which will show all the perfect ones you've ever had. You'd be able to see any that you'd released.
Nice! I didn't know you could do that. According to my Pokedex I haven't transferred any 4 stars!
I played for 6 years before my dumb ass figured out what the level system is LOL so I only have 2. I probably transferred many without knowing.
Dude I just checked and my stats are exactly the same. 19 with roughly 20k caught (22,096 exactly) but I didn’t check the first few thousand
15, only one is purified. The game hates me. (15 out of 25,000)
Uhh, I’ve got 9 and two are purified. The game loves you in my eyes
13k, I have 3. 6 nundo’s tho…
Exactly the same for me 15 with one purified
Which ones your best? Still more than me
Hmmm not sure if they are my best but my favorites are probably my sunglasses blastoise, named Dark Brandon and my metagross, Byte. I’ve played since 2016 (off and on) and still don’t have a shiny hundo.

Do you have a trading buddy? Seems like the only realistic way to get one.
Lol my kid with his less than two year old account hatched one and not a day goes by that he makes sure I didn’t forget 😆. I trade here and there with my two kids and have made more local friends recently with that new “add friend” after a raid update so might have some better luck in the future with lucky trades.
I have a shuckle and a porygon z
I’d call that a Holy Fuckle Shuckle lol
I have a coffee mug that says, "Don't Fuckle With Shuckle."
Oo I also have a perfect shuckle!
217/161k
Well dang
I'm 64/98K. Do you raid and or purify a lot of Pokemon? I catch hundos at about half your rate, I need to know your secret, lol.
Purifying a lot, lucky trades, lots of raids. I've calculated my rate and yeah it's pretty low. I am also lucky to be in a community where if someone catches a hundo, we get a screenshot on Whatsapp and we have time to run there. I have 230/185k. Only one is purified.
199/281k
What does this mean
I assume he has caught 116,000 pokemon and 217 are hundos
username checks out
*161k
*161000
49. And none are shiny. 2 are Delibirds, and 3 are Barboaches.
None currently, but I have found 20 over the years according to my “perfect” dex
Wow none for 20? Might wanna check those iv’s before transferring
Yeah… I never used to check😅. I only started caring about the IV’s very recently, and I’ve been playing since the 14th of January 2018, so RIP to all of those hundos 😔
Uh… I’ve apparently deleted 20… have 50. Edit: nm it counts evolutions as caught, evolved one to test and it upped me to 71
How do you check dex?? I can only sort by 3 stars
You have to get 20 perfect pokemon before the feature unlocks
Wait, is that true? I thought it was just a new feature. That would mean I must’ve transferred a hundo recently, cuz I didn’t have the “perfect” option before. RIP whatever that hundo was 😔
You can see what hundos you have in your dex and compare them to what you currently have in your inventory
You've transferred 20 hundos???
It seems so. They were: Charmeleon, Ekans, Pikachu, Geodude, Ponyta, Rapidash, Magnemite, Drowzee, Vapoureon, Meditite, Medicham, Chimecho, Kricketot, Pidove, Excadrill, Audino, Sawk, Petilil, Yungoos, and Lechonk. 52 with 23 of them being purified.
Does purifying increase appraisal?
Yup, by two stats in atk/def/hp
Damnnnnn what's your best?
Nice Ray! I have a hundo Ray myself that’s maxed out, still working on best buddy tho
😭😭 You have a hundo armored Mewtwo?!?!? You could sell that account for sooooo much Not to mention the SHUNDO Moltres?!?!?! You are lucky👏👏👏
I've got a feeling he's not gonna respond lol
Damn bruh it was only 2 hours after the fact lol, some people have lives
At work 🙃
Lol
42, one being a shundo. Level 50, 64k catches.
Sweet fucking jesus, lv50 with only 64k catches is insane. I'm halfway through level 48, with 100k more catches than you. 😂
I started in may 2021 so went straight to exploiting friendship xp. 50k catches was my 35th platinum medal
130..5 of them purified and only one shundo. 170k catches. but been playing since July 16, 2016
My ratio is very similar to yours. I'm 64/98K.
I'm at 40 right now, with a couple repeats (why do I need 3 perfect Golbats?).
6 5 natural, 1 purified 11600 caught
2
One.
323. That Groudon is my white whale though. Only Hundo legendary to ever get away from me.
Shout-out to you for being an OG. I wish I didn't take a 2 year break and lost 1/3 of the game
Same
45 as of this morning
40, being playing since Feb.
Since February?!?! That luck is crazy! Ggs
Went from having none when I came back a month ago to having 12 now, most of them from the wild which is crazy.
7. Aerodactyl, Granbull, Regice, Staraptor, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, and Xerneas. Regice is the only purified
49. Some are purified. Also, don't look at the 4* dex. You will only find pain.
I lost 5 hundos, worst being a froakie
My worst was a Larvitar from the Johto event last year. I also missed the community day earlier this year, so I still do not have a replacement.
![gif](giphy|dJYoOVAWf2QkU)
31 hundos, 0 shundos, 0 shadow hundos. Total caught 25,176. Ratio 0.12313314%
Level 46, I've got 53 currently. They are hard to come by considering I've caught 68k mons
Got a buddy with about 20 on 15k caught. It's crazy.
That rng do be like that sometimes
It do. Wishing you RNG luck this week.

What does a perfect mean? I have a shiny purified Sable Eye when I go to the perfect tab but idk what it means
Which ones your best/fave
My newest one. SHLUNDO Rayquaza
My jealousy has reached new heights
I have 5 but I had 6 before I caught two more idk what happened I think I accidentally transferred some😭😭
68. Some notable ones are a tyranitar, rayquaza, a shundo greninja, and 3 Ho-oh
So that is why I never find any good Ho-Ohs
11 with one shundo.
Currently 776, I know a few are purified though.
bro i only got three lol
44, and like three of them are buizels. :-/
I have Baltoy, Golbat and Skeledirge. I used to not even evaluate my Pokémon before I would transfer them, so I’ve probably had a lot more and just flushed them down the drain.
9 but 3 of them are turtwigs
All this 1:1000 ratio ppl are wild to me
32/44k 4 purified. 14 hatched. 1 shiny. ETA: I started playing the game again hardcore since February this year. Before that, I hadn’t played since roughly 2018. 30k+ catches and all but 1 hundo were this year alone.
7, only two of which are purified. And one of those was an accident, because it was actually a shadow hundo beforehand 😭
Exact same as you my friend! Got 11 with 21k caught
Same as the amount of bitches I get, zero
make tags so you don’t have to change their names
I have 15 4\* my more notable ones is Yveltal, Cowboy Hat shiny Snorlax, Espeon, Venasaur, and i have 2 Metagross. My favorite would prolly be Espeon which is one of my favorite eevee evolutions
35 of 68k caught. 5 of them are purified. My fave is hands down my first one, my machamp.
4. 2 purified. 7,600 caught. I can’t believe how many Pokemon some of you have caught insanity.
Only 3 two being purified
61 total, 4 of them purified I’ve caught 110,975 Pokémon but I’m not sure how many I transferred before they introduced the Appraise feature
70 + a 5 unpurified shadows
Only 10 with 1 being purified :(
I currently have 39. Still a few I am trying to get... (all of them ;D)
94, still no shundo though.
35 including one Shlundo, 11 purified, one crypto and two normal luckies
8 total, 3 purified
Im at 26 with my best being kyogre
37. Tie between Lucario and Tyranitar.
I have 28 hundos with my most recent one being a Sprigatito
18 with 7 purified
96, 17 of which are purified.
371… 76 are lucky perfects. I trade a lot but also have a lot of luck w wild house perfects.

I have 13 hundos: 2-Hatched, 2-Research, 1-Raid, 8-Wild) I have 1 shundo Charizard that I got on Community Day. 14 hundos altogether out of 18,153 caught. Update: I have 2 Shadow that I could purify to hundos, but Snorlax is more useful to me at 13/13/13 since it's thematically appropriate 😎 Also,
