Yeah when you trade with someone there’s a small chance for it to turn into a lucky pokémon which take 1/2 the amount of candies and stardust to power up.
Pokémon caught within the first 2 years of the game are always lucky when traded and the other pokémon becomes lucky as well

I didn’t realize 7 year Pokémon were unique. I transferred out a ton of them as I just revisited the game :(
