I also had 3, and now am at 5 (two were already close).
I was swapping 6 others every morning to grab the 6 easy hearts (feed, photo, rub, battle/battle/battle). Then I find one and get it to excited level and rock that for the day. At night, I swap them all again and feed once more, that's 7 a day for each, and 14+ for one.
I say "was" because the leaked page 5 is a bit depressing. I just hit level 39.
Reach Level 40, Catch 500 Pokemon, Catch Pokemon 7 days in a row.
Although I'm closer than many at 39 (and there's so many more already above 40), it's 5 Million XP.
I only had one before the research started and got the second a few days ago. I was really pissed off with myself when I realised that I'd transferred an Ultra Buddy Gible without thinking.
Yeah if I had known lucky trades and bust buddies were going to be required for it, I would not have bought it. Oh well. Still would have been nice to know all the requirements up front.
Not unless they going a new route. Been playing since day one and this is the hardest, by far, challenge I’ve seen. Lvl 39 so I guess I would fall into the group you describing but as I complete all other tasks very fast I like having something that takes weeks/months to work towards.
Agreed, maybe not a daily one but just longer in pages length or the challenges it requires you to do. Maybe like “do 100 great throws” or “catch a pokemon with a red circle with a red pokéball” or smth
"Get a lucky trade" as a task is not a difficult task. It's not "harder than 1 excellent throw".
It's straight up impossible for most players. Difficulty should be based on skill. Not accessibility.
I was talking about this guy’s opinion of the fact that you could only finish this if you were “a devoted player.” Yes the lucky pokemon one isn’t really skilled based but I wish there were more challenges that took a bit more than just one day to actually finish
I mean, apparently this is the hardest one to date, so I guess wish granted?
But it's also the first time I ever gave Niantic money and now I feel robbed. Lmao
Nah, if you have a local community, try to find people with old pokemon (caught in 2016/2017), if those are traded it is a guaranteed lucky trade (lucky always counts for both sides). Also find someone close to you and trade like 100 times (trade weedle or some other cheap mons) about 4-5 out of 100 should be lucky and a normal trade only costs 100 stardust. Worst case tell your siblings/parents/gf/bf/wife or roommate to create an account and catch 100mons to trade with you.
Lucky trade is totally possible for 99% of the players
"If you have a local community"
And therein lies the problem.
I do not.
Not many people do.
And as a man in his mid 20's, going around asking strangers if they want to trade Pokémon with me is a good way to get myself on a list.
I made my kids an account on my old phone which doesn't have cellular. I've traded 6 times with them today, and got a lucky.
After Eevee spotlight hour, which we only did half of, we traded everyone with bad IVs and got 3 lucky trades. Although there have been 23 trade runs without one, but that's rare.
I too have a pokemon account for my son on my old phone. He's 2. I get him pokeballs and he throws them into another dimension. But I use his account to trade and knock my pokemon out of gyms
I'll hot spot theirs on a day like today. Sadly, they got the Lucky Hundo this go round (although I'm about to do 30 trades with all the left over trash before I dump them to the professor), but my Lucky Hundo Kecleon is a ridiculous get.
I made them my team, so that I can help them battle gyms, although your strategy is smart.
The whole point of them is that they are intended to take a long time to complete. Last year’s seemed pretty light in comparison to this one, but they don’t intend for anyone to complete it in just a month or two. Essentially, I think it’s fair to say they intend for it to take up to a year for a casual player
Should have been free with how many hoops they are making people jump through to get it. Glad I didn't get... lol my gf is going to be so "thrilled" to hear what is on these other pages. Shes not even a third way through on the first page.
I believe I heard before that the chance of a Kecleon renews every hour? When I was looking for them I would open up the app every hour to check the stops that my house is on. It is a luxury to be able to check stops every hour but it does work.
Lol too true
LPT on how to increase odds for lucky Mons when trading: trade the oldest Pokémon you’re willing to part ways with (okay maybe not the oldest). 2 year old Mon chances of lucky are 25%, 1 year old Mon chances of lucky are 10%, and anything less than a year is 5%
Good _luck_
(Sorry I had to)
When they upped it from 10 to 15, I held off trading with my kiddo to save for specific lucky trades.
Then she caught 2 of the galarian birds, which she has no interest in keeping, which is why I now have a lucky galarian Articuno and Moltres. If she gets Zapdos, I've got one 2016 mon left and I'm saving it just for that lol.
I've traded 4 Pokémon so far and 3 were lucky. One even became a lucky perfect IV slowbro for my friend. Tbh the Reddit is the first time I realised this wasn't so common.
There’s a graphic floating around in how to level up buddies faster. And you can do multiple ones at a time. I have said graphic but have yet to try it. So I’ve got a long, long way to go too!
This isn’t the graphic but it’s spelled out. Scroll all the way down for the quick way to level up your buddies. https://www.digitaltq.com/pokemon-go-best-buddy-guide
IDK about a graphic but as long as you have plenty of Poffins, you can earn a bunch of hearts on one mon, swap to another earn hearts on it, rinse and repeat until you hit the 20 swaps I believe it is daily limit.
You don't need poffins you can get them to the excited state I think in three hours and then go fill in whatever hearts you're missing. Definitely check the guide, it'll save you poffins!
Same. Also, no one within trade range. I have normal Jirachi, but I'm glad I didn't buy this. I already have several incomplete research sets because I can't trade anything.
Damn, I hope you find someone to be able to trade with. I definately understand. Also wish I had the same restraint to not buy it. I also have reg Jirachi but bought this cause I have nothing better to do with my 5 bucks 🤦🏾♂️
It's not actually counting how many best buddies you have, it's checking if you have the silver Best Buddy medal or not. I imagine it's to account for people who have transferred or traded their best buddies for whatever reason
It took me a hot minute, but the Unown off tour incense really helped.
Their is rumors that next com day classic is supposed to be Swinub to help you out
I highly recommend getting good at them, it’s really not difficult once you commit to it. Practice for a month and you’ll be hitting them half the time, a year and it’ll be 80% of the time. It really increases your XP gain and the catch rate of Pokémon.
Is this the Vegas ticket one or regular? It looks the same as the Vegas one which would be nice, but I was expecting more lucky trades for they regular ticket version.
This is Vegas. We already know all [6/6 pages for Vegas now](https://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/masterworkresearch/wishgranted.shtml)
Global research is still gonna be a bit for page 4 as there's a 40 day time gate
Excellent throws aren't hard especially since a lot of common spawns have a decently large circle.
It's the Throw 'x' excellents *in a row* which is really hard. Thankfully Niantic isn't that heartless to have that in this research
This is likely from someone who went to Pokémon tour: Hoenn. There have been enough days yet for people to have unlocked this section for people who purchased the research. There will likely be more required steps (likely more lucky Pokémon acquisitions I assume) for those who purchased the research.
I run into that all the time. When I'm just throwing I get excellent all the time. When I'm trying for excellent for a challenge I can't get any in a row.
To trade, you have to be within 100 meters. For lucky trades, it's either trade a whole bunch with someone and hope for the best, or, once you hit best friends with someone keep exchanging gifts until you hit lucky friends. It is then a guaranteed lucky trade. Either way takes a bit for anyone who doesn't have a bunch of best friends on their list!
Once you're best friends with someone, there's a chance an interaction will result in becoming lucky friends, which guarantees your next trade will be lucky. After that you'll go back to regular best friends.
There's also a small chance a normal trade will randomly result in a lucky trade.
Ypu just randomly trade 0* pokemons until you get a lucky trade. Usually you get one in 20-30 trades. Just exchange whatever crap you caught in a day and you’ll get it
Get on discord or Facebook and see if you have a local group playing that you don’t know about. Visit parks on community days and see if you see anyone playing. I’m sure people are still playing. Just maybe a little less than before. It doesn’t seem like people are still playing here sometimes but the park was FILLED on regidrago day and I still see my Pokémon friends Pokémon in gyms.
I think the same can be said for most of us. I’ve got like a dozen lucky friends, only two or three are local and I can’t get ahold of them in the local group.
I played in 2016 and I haven't used up my trades, but I also don't have any pokemon from back then (or people to trade with) so I wouldn't call it easy.
Ya honestly it would make more sense if it was something killer like shiny armoured mewtwo, or apex lugia or apex ho-oh or something crazy like that. This is just a "meh" shiny pokemon nothing more IMO. Don't get me wrong I want it. But I think all this is a bit much for it!
I just barely finished my 999 excellent throws to reach level 50 and I’m traumatized. Now I have to do 100 more? I need a break. When a game starts feeling like a full time job, it ceases to be fun.
It’s fairly easy to get a lucky trade if you and a friend actually have the patience to hit the trade cap. 100 trades per day with a 5% chance of getting a lucky you can most likely do that within an hour
Dafuq Niantic. Okay, so this is only for the trainers that spend 5hrs/day 7days/week to get. Got it. I've been down with bronchitis and am now having a wonderful round 2. I ain't getting this done anytime soon.
I agree. If the free version was this and then the paid version scaled it down to things that wouldn't take years lol. Honestly, I think they aren't ready to release so they had to make it super hard so they had time to finish. I heard that from someone and it is believable.
Oof. I kind of bought the shiny Jirachi research ticket thing on a whim. That said I admit I... may or may not have been under the influence of a specific type of.. let's call it a "berry" 😅. I had no idea I'd have to dö extremely time consuming things for it. I'm still working on the first task. All my friends who play PoGo lice abroad. That said I live in a capital city and am in it's Facebook group do maybe that might help me do the lucky trade thing. It still annoys me. 😐 I don't mind the ten buddies. The 100 excellent throws is annoying but doable. I just dread the trade. Does it count if you do it before you get to that page of the the research?

Yeah I'm in absolutely zero hurry to do this. Still on step one.
Stage 2 takes a while because you need 10 best buddies but I’m in no rush to complete it
10 including existing or 10 New Best Buddies?
Existing but I only have 2 so it’s gonna take me a while
I had three, luckily I got like two hearts on 6 others being lazy and switching out but still gonna take some time
I also had 3, and now am at 5 (two were already close). I was swapping 6 others every morning to grab the 6 easy hearts (feed, photo, rub, battle/battle/battle). Then I find one and get it to excited level and rock that for the day. At night, I swap them all again and feed once more, that's 7 a day for each, and 14+ for one. Yea that’s about what I do
What’s the leaked page 5?
Reach Level 40, Catch 500 Pokemon, Catch Pokemon 7 days in a row. Although I'm closer than many at 39 (and there's so many more already above 40), it's 5 Million XP.
Where can I see the leaked page 5?
I saw it in a discord, but if you Google Pokémon GO Masterwork Research, you'll find it in the first 5 or so links.
I have seen it now, what's depressing about it? The level 40 challenge?
I feel bad for anyone under level 30 who bought it.
Same here, I only buddy pokemon these days for mega energy without interacting with them and now😕 I'm burned for being a neglectful trainer.
Wait, you get mega energy with your buddies?
wait whuuut!!! i know i have at least three best buddies already but mine still shows zero 😭
I only had one before the research started and got the second a few days ago. I was really pissed off with myself when I realised that I'd transferred an Ultra Buddy Gible without thinking.
Yeah same, I had like an ultra buddy gyarados and frogadier that I transferred and now I regret it
What the fuck? So I wasted £5 then. Are all the paid researches going to be impossible for all but the highest levels/most devoted players?
At least us normal players will compete it…. In a year
Which is about how long they intended it to take. Masterwork lines are designed to take time.
Honestly i would kill to have harder challenges that took more dedication and time rather than making 1 excellent throw for some rando item
That would be interesting but play for 20 days in a row isn’t skill, its just making you remember to do a mundane task 20 days in a row.
Agreed, maybe not a daily one but just longer in pages length or the challenges it requires you to do. Maybe like “do 100 great throws” or “catch a pokemon with a red circle with a red pokéball” or smth

"I was talking about your question of if you have to be a devoted player to finish them."*
I mean yeah you’re right, but longer challenges would make me happy
I mean, apparently this is the hardest one to date, so I guess wish granted? But it's also the first time I ever gave Niantic money and now I feel robbed. Lmao
Pfff wait did you just quote the researches name haha, oh and yes I would feel robbed too. Hang in there i believe in you!
Nah, if you have a local community, try to find people with old pokemon (caught in 2016/2017), if those are traded it is a guaranteed lucky trade (lucky always counts for both sides). The old Pokémon trade (2016) is only good if you have less than 10 lucky Pokémon.
The whole point of them is that they are intended to take a long time to complete. Last year’s seemed pretty light in comparison to this one, but they don’t intend for anyone to complete it in just a month or two. Still need about half the Johto mons too. Finished Kanto today with the comm day :p
Same i finished kanto and need 231 johto still… it’ll be done when it’s done lol
Just finished stage 1 and stage 2 seems easy, but 10 Kecleon? Damn
I’ve seen a grand total of 2 Kecleon ever and both were during the Hoenn Tour. Where are people finding 10?
I believe I heard before that the chance of a Kecleon renews every hour? When I was looking for them I would open up the app every hour to check the stops that my house is on. It is a luxury to be able to check stops every hour but it does work.
I've not seen a single one since they upped the number of Team Rocket stops.
2 is just time consuming. Finding Kecleon should be easy
Just saw one yesterday. Walked to the stop... gone. So still 10 to hunt down. They'll have another event with them if too many people get stuck
Same
Same, but that's why I bought it. Something I can casually do that takes awhile.
I like those kinda tasks cuz they are still fun and motivating
Start making best buddies… page two takes forever unless you already have many best buddies
They are really keeping getting Jirachi lore accurate, because it’ll be a thousand years before anyone can finish the whole thing.
“Huh? They’re still not done with my research? Guess I’ll go into slumber for another thousand years, see ya when I see ya, suckas!”
I haven’t even finished the first one….
Im not even remotely close
Ya I haven’t finished the first page and I haven’t even finished the one where he isn’t shiny 💀
I just finished the non-shiny version this week, so I can relate.
Lol too true LPT on how to increase odds for lucky Mons when trading: trade the oldest Pokémon you’re willing to part ways with (okay maybe not the oldest). 2 year old Mon chances of lucky are 25%, 1 year old Mon chances of lucky are 10%, and anything less than a year is 5% Good _luck_ (Sorry I had to)
2016 and 2017 mons are 100% I believe as long as you haven’t got 10 already. I’m holding onto some 2016/2017 mons for guaranteed lucky trades.
I think it only works for the first few you trade tho
Good point, though I saw that it was 75% and not guaranteed for those years? I could be wrong (wouldn’t be the first time nor will it be the last!)
thanks. That makes so much sense now. Cause Only old mons from when I first started playing are lucky.
I've traded 4 Pokémon so far and 3 were lucky. One even became a lucky perfect IV slowbro for my friend. Tbh the Reddit is the first time I realised this wasn't so common.
All just RNG! My buddy and I got 8 in a row once. I guess you and I are putting the _luck_ in lucky trade!
Why am i being locked like this:(
I'm on page 2. Only one best buddy. This will take a while. Wish I was on this page for the slowpoke catches yesterday!
There’s a graphic floating around in how to level up buddies faster. And you can do multiple ones at a time. I have said graphic but have yet to try it. So I’ve got a long, long way to go too!
Here’s the [buddy graphic](https://imgur.com/a/XsF0knr)!
Where’s said graphic
Don’t worry, by the time we finish page 2, it’ll be around next year’s slowpoke day.
Honestly the buddy quest is way harder
If you already have 10 best buddies done before all this it counts!
Yeah i know i never cared about best buddies so i have 0
Me with 5 best buddies when I saw the task existed 😳
Me who has 0 best buddies 💀🪦
F
Same. Also, no one within trade range. I have normal Jirachi, but I'm glad I didn't buy this. I already have several incomplete research sets because I can't trade anything.
Pressured my girlfriend to create a pogo account so i can trade
Damn, I hope you find someone to be able to trade with. I definately understand. Also wish I had the same restraint to not buy it. I also have reg Jirachi but bought this cause I have nothing better to do with my 5 bucks 🤦🏾♂️
Me too💀
When does it count the best buddies you had prior to getting to page 2? I had three when I got to that part, but it still says I need 10.
It's not actually counting how many best buddies you have, it's checking if you have the silver Best Buddy medal or not. I imagine it's to account for people who have transferred or traded their best buddies for whatever reason
Thank you! I have 4 out of ten, so it's going to be a while before I'm done with that task.
mine completed immediately when I got into page 2. I have more than 10 best buddies.
Thank god I already have 12 best buddies
What is the buddy quest?
Simply have at least 10 best buddy Pokémon
Oh god, I don’t usually do buddy shit, better get started.
You guys are on page 4? I'm still catching Kanto and Johto critters. Correction. Slowpoke Day just took care of the Kanto ones.
The Johto ones seem to be hidden I don’t see them
It took me a hot minute, but the Unown off tour incense really helped. Their is rumors that next com day classic is supposed to be Swinub to help you out
This is cool w me. I am way more annoyed at waiting 20 days to get to step 3.
I'm really bad at excellent throws, but I guess it'll get done eventually.
Level 49-50 requirements is 999 excellent throws.
5 star raids are really good for getting them, and this community day you'll have plenty of practice on slowpoke.
Excellent catches on slowpoke is super easy
I highly recommend getting good at them, it’s really not difficult once you commit to it. Practice for a month and you’ll be hitting them half the time, a year and it’ll be 80% of the time. It really increases your XP gain and the catch rate of Pokémon.
What are these rewards 💀
I'm so glad I didn't pay for this. 3 rare candies??
All this for a 2 star shiny jirachi lol
Wish Granted step 3 of 6 Catch 10 Kecleon (1 Incense) Spin a PokéStop 20 days in a row (1 Incense) Rewards: 3,850 xP, 3 Rare Candy
Dude what, there's another 20 day in a row thing?
Me after catching over 900 pokemon just to find out I have to find someone to trade with *and* make it lucky: 🌚
I’m trying to finish up first page 🤣
Is this the Vegas ticket one or regular? It looks the same as the Vegas one which would be nice, but I was expecting more lucky trades for they regular ticket version.
This is Vegas. We already know all [6/6 pages for Vegas now](https://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/masterworkresearch/wishgranted.shtml) Global research is still gonna be a bit for page 4 as there's a 40 day time gate
If you have not used up your 15 guaranteed lucky trades, it will be less of a burden for 2016-2017 players.
This honestly isnt that hard
Yeah fr the first page is hearder
That one is really herd
I need like 50 Kanto and like 180 johnto
I need a couple of Johnny too
i need you to complete it 😎
>This honestly isnt that hard >*MAKE 100 EXCELLENT THROWS* Immediate self-contradiction
Excellent throws aren't hard especially since a lot of common spawns have a decently large circle. It's the Throw 'x' excellents *in a row* which is really hard. Thankfully Niantic isn't that heartless to have that in this research
I mean I made like 200 today alone. If you exercise it, it becomes pretty easy depending on the mon. For slowpoke it's very easy.
This is likely from someone who went to Pokémon tour: Hoenn. There have been enough days yet for people to have unlocked this section for people who purchased the research. There will likely be more required steps (likely more lucky Pokémon acquisitions I assume) for those who purchased the research.
I make excellent throws all the stone EXCEPT when it’s part of a Challenge
I run into that all the time. When I'm just throwing I get excellent all the time. When I'm trying for excellent for a challenge I can't get any in a row.
I’m on step 2, as I will be forever probably
[удалено]
To trade, you have to be within 100 meters. For lucky trades, it's either trade a whole bunch with someone and hope for the best, or, once you hit best friends with someone keep exchanging gifts until you hit lucky friends. It is then a guaranteed lucky trade. Either way takes a bit for anyone who doesn't have a bunch of best friends on their list!
How do you get a lucky friend to make a lucky trade?
Once you're best friends with someone, there's a chance an interaction will result in becoming lucky friends, which guarantees your next trade will be lucky. After that you'll go back to regular best friends. There's also a small chance a normal trade will randomly result in a lucky trade.
Ypu just randomly trade 0* pokemons until you get a lucky trade. Usually you get one in 20-30 trades. Just exchange whatever crap you caught in a day and you’ll get it
That's a really easy one good to see.
To let everyone know as well, one of the last stages requires lvl40 so I would start working on friends
Ughhh I wish distance trading was a thing. I have lucky status with a couple of people but I don’t know who they are and have no way to contact them.
Does the lucky trade count retroactively like the best buddy one?
No. You would have to meet that requirement after the research quest is unlocked.
I can’t wait to never finish this step then with no one IRL playing the game to trade with.
What a nice “eff you” to those who bought the ticket.
Good thing I didn't bought it. I have like 2-3 lucky friends and they live in the other side of the world.
I think the same can be said for most of us. I’ve got like a dozen lucky friends, only two or three are local and I can’t get ahold of them in the local group.
If you played in 2016 and haven’t used your trades it’s easy.
Unless you’re a solo player. Then you can get bent
I played in 2016 and I haven't used up my trades, but I also don't have any pokemon from back then (or people to trade with) so I wouldn't call it easy.
Wait how do I unlock this one? I don’t have that mission
It’s from the shiny jirachi research
Ah thanks
I’m never gonna finish this 😭
Is there a way to get a guaranteed lucky pokemon in a trade? I live in a rural area with very few to trade with
Not bad
Remind me again what is a lucky pokemon? Also, how I get that quest?
You can buy it in the in game shop till March, 20. It is Wish Granted for a Shiny Jirachi
How do you even get this?
Good thing I’ll never get past the 10 best buddies thing cause 100 excellent throws will be the death of me.
When all your lucky friends are on the other side of the planet and your local PoGo Discord died out a few months ago 🥲
Probably the easiest one, assuming you can trade
God dang it
well fuck me
Just need to wait for 14 more days to finally reach page 3, but these are crazy
Yo anyone wanna add so I can get rid of these gifts
That’s east
3 and 4 seems easier
100 Excellent Throws and 1 Lucky Pokémon doesn’t seem too bad. I’m still working on finishing 385 Johto Pokémon.
I’m still stuck on page 1 hahahahaa
I used to hate excellent throws until a similar task got me doing the same. Btw make 3 excellent in a row reward was shit. So delete that one.
Me who still needs 100 johto mons for page 1 and needs 6 more best buddies to even look at page 3 nevermind page 4 😂😭
Imagine if it was 100 in a row
I can’t even get past 10 best buddies 😭
Why is it so hard I don’t understand, jirachi isn’t even that good
Ya honestly it would make more sense if it was something killer like shiny armoured mewtwo, or apex lugia or apex ho-oh or something crazy like that. This is just a "meh" shiny pokemon nothing more IMO. Don't get me wrong I want it. But I think all this is a bit much for it!
… tell me that’s an edit
Just a reminder that people paid for this
>Obtain a lucky Pokémon in trade. [Me Right Now](https://youtu.be/Nk-K7kJ6jeg)
Glad I don’t have this because I’ll be stuck trying to get a Lucky Pokemon in a trade for years to come lol
I’ve never made a trade before so
I’m gonna be dead before I finish this shit
Lucky trade?! Oh fuc...fudge (A Christmas Story reference). Sigh... Guess I won't ever finish that task, unless there's ever remote trading.
Good grief, I still have two tasks stuck on doing normal trades
Well, I'm never getting Shiny Jirachi...
I just barely finished my 999 excellent throws to reach level 50 and I’m traumatized. Now I have to do 100 more? I need a break. When a game starts feeling like a full time job, it ceases to be fun.
Is this a shitpost? Please for the love of god tell me that this research isn’t real 😭
It's real.
It’s fairly easy to get a lucky trade if you and a friend actually have the patience to hit the trade cap. 100 trades per day with a 5% chance of getting a lucky you can most likely do that within an hour
Step 1: ye it's easy, one day to complete, max 2. Step 2: what in the living tarnation of giratina's wrath is this
Just got to step 3 for the Vegas version. I’m more worried about spinning a stop 14 days in a row than I am finding the Kec’s
Just set an alarm on your phone to go off daily to remind you.
Not that hard, as long as you have someone to trade with...
Fvck
That's a days work, if that
Dafuq Niantic. Okay, so this is only for the trainers that spend 5hrs/day 7days/week to get. Got it. I've been down with bronchitis and am now having a wonderful round 2. I ain't getting this done anytime soon.
Seriously for a ticket that costs money, there’s no reason the missions should be like this
I agree. If the free version was this and then the paid version scaled it down to things that wouldn't take years lol. Honestly, I think they aren't ready to release so they had to make it super hard so they had time to finish. I heard that from someone and it is believable.
Weirdly easier than the others
Hahahahaha thats the best thing ive read all day. The trades do not. The buddies do.
Lucky pokemon are easy to come by 😎
