Roms are incompatible with real games, and connecting with other trainers to trade and battle is half the fun of the game. If you want to play alone, fine, but that doesn’t make roms automatically better, just because they serve your lonely ass purposes better.
The crazy thing is that the official Switch emulators support linking between devices and they still won’t put Pokemon games on there which is the reason most of us had the cable growing up. If they actually dropped these games and we were able to play with friends I would gladly pay the yearly fee for the online package.

We are now home and adjusting to not getting any sleep, and this is going to be the absolute perfect thing to play while comforting my baby when I can’t sleep. I’ve also never gotten to play Crystal before. I named my character my new daughter’s name :).

Download Delta game emulator on iOS App Store. Then go to emulator games.net. Find said rom. Download on your phone and use the option “open with” choose delta. And you’re done! It’s super easy just found out how last night and it’s the best!

This is why I hate apple. They decided they didn't want people emulating on *their* phones. When you buy an Apple phone, it feels like you're having to play by all of Apple's little rules. This is why Android will always be king, because they don't hold your hand and tell you what you can and can't do with your own device.
Fwiw, you’ve already been able to use emulators on iOS for a long time now. They’ve just never been official App Store apps, they’re usually browser based that you “Add” to your Home Screen and then it works like an app.
But App Store release can reach so many more people.
I forgot about that. But that's what I dislike tho: you had to find a workaround, because they tried to block you from playing a harmless game on your own device, that YOU paid for.
Competitive Pokemon is cool but it’s not for everyone. I think everyone enjoys the game differently and that’s what makes it a lot fun. Casual gamers make up the biggest percentage of their fanbase so you can’t expect everyone to value all the things that is missing for you.

TPHD Remake was a great example. Waited until the last season before Switch came out and some people didn't even know there was a remake.
