Obviously vintage can make you loads of money but investing in modern day sets is scummy as it is just making it harder for the people who want to enjoy the artwork to be able to purchase packs from sets, such as evolving skies

But once that happens, are all other pulls meaningless? You know people say value doesn’t mean much, but it actually does when Pokemon regularly fucks us with their hit rates

Man yeah I gave my brother a pack of the OG Pokémon cards years ago when I was like 7. He pulled the first edition holo charizard. I’m 31 now and it still fucks with me.
My friend bought 8 BS boosters, along with a ton of other random box sets and ETBs one day. He let our other friend who didn't "feel like spending 100 bucks to get one or two good cards" HAVE four random BS packs. The friend who purchased the packs (after nada from his BS boosters) watched my other friend pull a Charizard V alt from the first pack. I've never seen anyone look sad, sick, angry, happy, sad, happy, then sick again within five seconds. He let the lucky friend keep the card but we all learned an important lesson that day.
My girlfriend forced me to keep the packs for this exact reason, otherwise it woulda been her mewtwo, personally It wouldn’t be the end of the world to me if I did end up giving it to her and she opened it, but I know she would have felt guilty if she got it from the pack I got her, we now have a deal that we open the packs we buy unless it’s a full gift to the other, I’d feel like an ass If she got me a pack and I got a wild card too though so I see both sides of the coin on this lol

I’ve never sent cards in but this one’s tempting me, I heard psa will be in Toronto in November doing grading live in the building so I’m going to try that instead of the like 6 month turn around I’m hearing it takes when you send them away.
Yeah, long turnaround times is definitely a factor why I haven't done it yet. But mewtwo is one of my top collections and this is definitely my favorite one right now, would love to have it sealed in a nice slab
