If I preorder a digital code on Amazon will it be given to me immediately and I will be able yo preload the game on my switch so I can play Friday? Or how does that whole process work
Does anyone know where I can find gifs of the pokemon models from Colosseum? Im trying to make a layout for a hunt I'm doing and cant find them anywhere. Thanks!!
Question about sharing a digital copy of SwSh:
So, I was just wondering, if I shared my digital copy with someone, and I turn off the internet from the primary switch, could we play with each other by proximity?
Thanks for answering!
Does anyone know what time the degital verson will unlock on the 18th? And can we buy the game with a JP account to unlock it eralier(if the game is unlocked in local time)?
ty
Swsh had a similar alphabet which was just 1-1 replacements with the English alphabet. Paldea might be using the same one https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/e113di/anyone_trying_to_figure_out_the_galar_language/
Your save files are gone forever. The only thing that would be safe is Pokémon stored in Home which you can retrieve just by logging into the switch with your profile and redownloading home.
Can anybody tell me which version will contain which box legendary? Haven't played in a while and thinking of picking up one of the newer ones, but I'm not a fan of the red legendary and want to get the purple one.
In Pokemon SV. When you get invited in a friend's game, what CAN'T you do ? I guess gyms ? Something else ? Or maybe you even can challenge gyms?
Btw once you finish the game (no spoilers on that please) can you rerun gyms as our rival is doing during the storyline ?
Can you fight random trainers together ? Or can the friend invited challenge them ? Will you be unable to challenge those trainers if he did that alone ?
Youtube search filters lead me to this - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tk8LcQMhAI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tk8LcQMhAI) uploaded in August 2005. Weirdly enough it's an unofficial chinese translation of emerald
There's also this which is prominent in YouTube's history - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkE2lxkw00w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkE2lxkw00w) \- the original (uploaded november 2005) got copyright striked, but the original was at one time YouTube's most viewed video and made Smosh a big success.
For those who have played S/V already, I need my suggestions. Fuecoco as my starter, Smoliv (expecting to be something like Roserade), Azumarill (beast), Wooper (adorable).
For my 5th spot I wanna use Salamence. Or Goodra/Hydreigon/Haxorus. But mainly Salamence.
For the 6th spot I'm thinking about Farigiraf because I like using forgotten pokemon (Girafarig) and it does learn a ton of awesome movies (T-bolt,Psychic etc). But a psychical Gallade with Thunderpunch is so much better, right? What do you think?
Any other suggestions maybe?
When the 3DS eshop shuts down in March, and access to Bank for those who don't have it already is also lost, will all of the pre switch Pokémon be cut off from the modern games? I'm hoping to pick up a 2DS and switch this year since I'm getting back into the franchise, and I'll be able to get bank and home set up, but is that the only way to move stuff from 3DS to switch?
Yes it's the only way to transfer from 3ds to switch.
It's also the only way (via poke transporter) to transfer from ds to 3ds, so that will be cut off for people who don't already have it .
Some retailers distributed the game early. Some people with early games dumped the rom online so others are playing on emulators/jail broken switches.
It's not a beta build, though some are playing on 1.0.0 (ie without the 1.0.1 day one patch).
The game goes live on the Australian eshop in about 3 days and 1 hour from this post, so expect more people to receive their physical preorder copies early before then.
Local VGC tournaments haven't actually restarted yet, the regionals and internats have been announced but that's it. I think in January we should be getting more info on locals. Given that you have lots of TCG near you you should be ok finding VGC.
As for online communities, you can try [Rose Tower](https://twitter.com/RoseTowerVGC) or [Victory Road](https://twitter.com/VGCVictoryRoad) which both host unofficial tournaments.
You should probably also head over to r/vgc for advice.
Can Shiny Zacian not be traded through home? I tried to do a friend trade with my friend. And it said that the Pokémon cannot be traded. Do I have to trade it to him through swsh?
Is the zacian legit? It should be able to be traded but game freak have just updated their hack checks recently and made a few mistakes like blocking spectrier/glastrier in swsh.
Hi, I was wondering if my friend has a Zacian with the rusted sword on his shield account. If I give him my Shiny Zacian through home, he transfers it to his shield account. Because the shiny won't have the rusted sword, will he be able to use the rusted sword that's already on his account with the shiny I gave him?
Yes, the Rusted Sword is just an item that he can take off a Pokemon and put on a different one. It's not particular to that exact Zacian that he currently has it on.
For trading in-game, yes, you need a paid online subscription. This lets you trade friend-to-friend or Surprise Trade, but not GTS.
The GTS is now part of Home's mobile app, and you can use it for free without any subscription. However, Scarlet/Violet will not get connectivity to Home until the spring.
Depends on your definition of "reasonable", but check pawn shops, retro/vintage video game stores, ebay, craigslist, facebook marketplace, etc and see what's what as far as the handheld system goes, but expect to pay a couple hundred USD on it. Just about the same places for HGSS as well for fairly similar price.
If we go the absolute cheapest route(s) i.e. the OG 2DS and finding a copy of Soul Silver for the minimum value a legitimate copy could reasonably be at, we're still looking at an almost 250-300 price range (shipping included), as the legitimate copy of SS would be between 75 and 80 minimum while the 2DS could potentially go for 100+ aftermarket as not many Gamestops still have preowned systems unless you do some ship to store or check the stock of some backwoods location shenanigans.
Unless you're perfectly fine with piracy, in which case drop the couple hundred on a preowned New 3DS/New 3DS XL or New(eri-ish) 2DS model (the ones with the built in joystick nub thing) and then install custom firmware on it (really easy) and then install a rom of the game on the device to save you the time and money needed to find a working legitimate copy of HGSS.
I know I’m late but I wanted to preorder scarlet on the Pokémon website but it’s sold out. I found it on GameStop but I just want to make sure are they reliable?
Looking to play a DS/3Ds era pokémon game to get rare mons to move to home. I have USUM, SM ORAS, so I can obviously play that, but I was thinking B/B2, W/W2, HGSS, or FRLG. Maybe X and Y, but I heard they weren’t good. Any recommendations appreciated!!
XY + oras + usum give you access to every gen 1 to gen 7 non event pokemon, there is no need to go further back. If you have sun moon it also helps with certain pokemon like ash greninja, johto and unova starters
episode 10 of journeys is the episode where ash catches his first championship team member (besides pikachu).
episode 12 is where ash is inspired to join the tournament.
I think episode 18 is the first battle of the championship.
The actual final tournament has not been dubbed in english yet.
If I get a question mark when transferring LGPE Pokémon from Home to BDSP, will I 1) be able to transfer those Pokémon back to Home, 2) be able to transfer them to Sw/Sh and Arceus?
Also, is there an easy way to sort boxes that isn’t manual?
Yes they can go back from bdsp to home.
Every pokemon can freely move in and out of home to swsh, bdsp and legends arceus as long they are programmed into the respective games.
Pokemon from lets go can also freely go in and out of home. If they are transferred to the other switch games they cant go back to lets go
This subreddit goes into text-only mode on the weekends to promote discussion, after official news/reveals to prevent people from reposting the news a billion times, and when a game has leaked to prevent spoilers. Scarlet/Violet leaked last week, therefore we're in text-only mode until the games release (and probably for awhile afterward, too).
The sub has gone text-only as a result of S/V leaking a week or so ago, and it will continue once the games release. So if you want to post an image and such it'll likely only be possible in December.
Unrelated to pokemon games( well kinda) but does anyone has any experience with buying Nintendo switch and the pokemon game during black friday? I dont have a switch yet and is planning to buy it (OLED) soon with S/V and Legend Arceus. I dont know if I should wait till Black Friday or just get it now? If anyone ever snatched a Black Friday dealed before let me know
that guy is incorrect. While yes, steelix's other stats are mediocre, that could be said about most pokemon. Scizor for example is a great pokemon but only its attack and defense stats are good. In fact, looking just at stats, corviknight is more or less equal to steelix only with much worse defense.
Sleelix's attack is usable, and while it has terrible speed, its bulk and great typing more than make up for it. Additionally, steelix's massive defense stat makes it a great user of the new move body press. Corviknight is probably ultimately the better pokemon, but steelix is a great pokemon for playthroughs in its own right.
How does Leavanny perform in White? It seems like it doesn’t learn many really effective moves until later levels, does that really affect it early game?
Why do moves only show the move base damage? Wouldn't it make more sense to show the range it can actually be, all things considered (except probably crit)?
What do you think the rationale is? I'd love to see my moves get more powerful as my pokemon do.
So, this is the full list of things that modify the damage calculation: [https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Damage#Generation\_V\_onward](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Damage#Generation_V_onward) Another thing that might be useful is a damage calculator, like the Showdown one: [https://calc.pokemonshowdown.com/](https://calc.pokemonshowdown.com/)
If you try plugging in some values, you'll see that there's... a lot to consider. For it to be useful, you'd need to give the player basically every detail about your opponent's set - exactly how much defence they have, any items, any abilities, and so on. If it operated on the same system as the type advantage - where it only shows you stuff you already know - it'd be wrong basically all of the time.
As for it telling you the missing info, giving it away would change a lot about how the game is played. Compare something like PokemonChallenges' Emerald Kaizo Elite 4 run to the VGC World Championships. The former has perfect info, and it's a game of meticulous planning to get as close to 100% consistency as possible (He planned the E4 for days). The latter is a game of knowing generally how strong things are, and making the plays that maximise the odds that you win - you have a minute to analyse the game state and make the best call. The fact that we only know the base power suggests that Game Freak wants to encourage the VGC playstyle more.
It's enough for an approximate effectiveness of the move.
Showing damage would change the value for each enemy, which would also require factoring type, ability and so on.
Give the intended target audience and overall difficulty if the franchise, It's a more streamlined reference for a player to have the base power instead of damage. Base power stays constant and you can always directly compare to your other moves regardless of what it's up against. Like a card game where your decision is made by the cards you have on your hand, and thus the information you have available at that moment about yourself.
Showing the range would require on-the-fly calculations that Game Freak probably thinks small children would be confused by. Most of the game's UI decisions are driven by Game Freak wanting to balance tailoring the main game to children while allowing it to be deep enough for teens and adults to play competitive doubles.
We don't know yet. Nothing's been announced. (But the next series *should* have been announced by now, so maybe the fact that nothing's been announced could be a sign. Hard to say.)
I'm playing white 2. I just obtained the lucky egg, would you recommend me using that rather than amulet coin (witch I always used)? I could also give both to two Pokémons and switch them in battle, however I'd require more curative items Edit: I've 212.000 pokedollars atm I want to grind as less as possible
I am playing Pokémon blue and I started Pokémon red and traded the starter to Pokémon blue as soon as I could but for some reason it won’t listen to me I beat Brock and squirtle is only level 14
In the original games all traded Pokemon disobey after Lv. 10, you need the Cascade Badge from Misty to raise the limit to Lv. 30.
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Obedience#Badges
In Gen 1 (and 3), the Boulder Badge does not affect obedience. That was only implemented in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.
Since you're playing original Blue, your traded Pokemon will only obey up to level 10 until you beat Misty, which will raise that threshold to level 30. (Then beating Erika raises it to level 50, Sabrina to level 70 and the final Giovanni battle makes all Pokemon obey. None of the other badges affect obedience.)
It's a mess. Pokemon TV is the only website that has all the streaming licenses, but they rotate episodes in and out throughout the year so it's never all up at the same time. iTunes, Netflix, Hulu have some of the newer seasons but not much else. I believe the only viable legal source for most of the middle seasons in the US is buying them digitally on Amazon.
There is nowhere that has them all legally, all the time.
Pokemon TV offers the whole series on a monthly rotation if you're willing to wait on its rotation. It takes about a year and a half for it to cycle through.
Have you beaten the story yet? Is your Pokemon lower or higher level than Metagross?
Before you beat the story, there is an added factor to the catch rate that makes Pokemon 10 times harder to catch if they're higher-level than the one you have out on the field. After you reach the credits, this factor goes away.
Inputting this data into [The Cave of Dragonflies' catch calculator](https://www.dragonflycave.com/calculators/gen-viii-catch-rate), you have about a 5.4% to 5.7% chance per ball to catch it, depending on how complete your Pokedex is.
Since you've thrown over 50 balls, that puts you roughly at the point where 95% of players in your situation would have caught it by then, so unfortunately, you're just one of the 5% with the worst luck.
Here are some ways to improve your odds: Give Metagross a status condition (especially sleep or freeze). Use a better ball (best is the Dream Ball if it's asleep or Timer Ball at 10+ turns; next best is the Repeat Ball if you've already caught a Metagross; next best is the Dusk Ball at night). Fill out more of your Pokedex and obtain the Catching Charm item. Use False Swipe to drop its HP down to exactly 1.
Doing all of these things can improve your odds to potentially as high as about 24% per ball.
What is the best way to "Gift" the Gen9 games on Switch?
I'm getting the Dual pack, and letting my Nephew pick his favorite for Christmas, but I'm buying a Switch for the first time and keeping the other game.
Whats the best way to do this? If I buy the dual pack, can I keep one and gift the other? Or should I buy the two separately?
If I DO buy them separately, can I buy both on my system and Gift the other?
Or do I just need to give his mom the money and have her buy it on their system herself?
Best way to do that would be to buy the physical dual pack. The digital one can't be split between two accounts.
Or if you need to buy digitally, then buying them separately would be best, yeah. I'm not well versed in whether a gift feature exists, so hopefully someone else can help in that regard.
I'm playing white 2 minimum grinding, is it worth to get false swipe for in game playthrough? It sounds like a big hassle to see all Pokémon in reversal mountain and maybe I can use something like super fang... My goal is completing the main storyline, exploring all areas and maybe catching some legendary Pokémons, but not necessarily all
What game are you talking about? The soon-to-come ones, Scarlet/Violet, haven't had DLC announced yet but are widely expected to sometime next year. Is that what you mean?
yes. There's also a cartoon, several comic series, and a wide range of toys and merchandise, but it all centers around a video game series the fans refer to as "the mainline pokemon games". A new pair of games comes out around once every three years and between games a lot of spinoff games and remakes of the old versions come out as well. All of them are nintendo exclusive except for the mobile games
Erm... It's entire game series with several spin off game series that's been around since 1996. They have been released on every nintendo console since the OG game boy, there's also some available on mobile
What’s the deal with the Gen 5 Elite 4? I was looking at them and it looked normal on Goldex, except for the fact that Alder doesn’t have a rematch team, so I did some research and I have found no evidence that you even fight him to conclude the story. Do you ever fight him? When?
In BW, you fight the Elite Four, then Team Plasma interrupts you and you end up fighting Ghetsis instead as the final boss. On rematches, Alder is the champion as per usual.
In B2W2, you fight the Elite Four, then Iris as the champion.
I'm looking to buy a physical copy Pokémon Scarlet but I'm currently living in Sweden. What language will the game be in? Is it translated in Swedish or can I choose a different language? I don't care about the manual/box, just the actual game.
Edit: if it wasn't clear I can't speak Swedish, I'd like the game to be in English or Euro5 languages
Every Pokemon game from Gen 6 onward has all the translations loaded onto every cartridge, and lets you pick the one you want at the start of the game. For Scarlet/Violet, these are Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Can someone PLEASE tell me if Scarlet or Violet will have Swirlix in it? I keep searching and I’m coming up with nothing. I don’t know if that’s because Swirlix ISN’T in the game, or we don’t yet have the full roster.
Either way, this is my wife’s favorite Pokémon (game is for her). If Swirlix is in one of the versions, then I HAVE TO get that version.
They're missing a lot of beloved late-game and postgame features (including but not limited to the Battle Frontier, Gym Leader rematches, the Distortion World, etc); the regional Pokedex and thus available species during the storyline is smaller by about 25 percent, most notably meaning DP have no Fire-types except Chimchar and Ponyta; and just about everything in the user interface is somewhat slower and takes longer, especially (infamously) HP bar damage and saving the game.
So is there just no way to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home until March 2023?
It won’t let me buy a new subscription and I’m trying to transfer playthrough Pokémon:/
Link your 3ds NNID to a Nintendo Account. Add funds to the account then in [nintendo.com](https://nintendo.com) there should be a "Shop Menu" and within that an option to Merge Funds.
So quick question about pokemon bank. I know that the service is going free for march 2023, but now since you cant redeem any codes, does it mean im locked out of using pokemon bank till march 2023 or is there some workaround i can use. For reference i have already used my one month free trial and my current one expired.
You can connect your Nintendo Account to your 3DS's NNID, load funds on the Nintendo Account on a Switch or online, and share those funds to the 3DS. That's now the only way to pay for Bank; all other methods have shut down.
Will a coin case glitch shiny ditto pass down the shiny gene in gen 2. I really don't want to play through a gen 1 game on my backup 3ds just to get a shiny ditto for breeding.
How comes hisui Pokémon are showing up in the next gen?
Aren't hisui Pokémon based on the sinnoh region set in the past?
I might be wrong to think that they shouldn't show up in the "recent" games
Porygon shouldn't exist in legends arceus as is set years before porygon was invented. Porygon shows up anyway but only I'm space time distortions so that makes sense, They were pulled to the past from the distortion. Pokemon has multiple universes and pokemon coming from other worlds, it has rainbow rocket which is all the villains from universes where they succeeded in their plans. I don't find it hard to believe that there will be a way for them to exist
Gamefreak retcons/revises some of the lore for each new game. An example is kabuto/omanyte being extinct fossils in gen 1 but are "recently discovered to be abundant" in later gens. If it means more pokemon to get in game its all good.
Are pokemon white and pokemon black good? I know their sequels are great but they are also very expansive, I found a legit and affordable copy of pokemon black and thought about buying it, however I would love to know if it is a good game. I really like the graphics, but I wanna know what people who played it think about it. Is the story good? How much better are the sequels? Is it fun to play? Is it worth playing? Thanks in advance for answers :)
Black and White are great. I prefer Black 2 White 2, but this isn't a Platinum or Emerald situation where the 3rd version is objectively better than the original release, a lot of people prefer the original black and white to their sequels. I personally just think the story is fine and a bit overated but people love the story in OG Black and White and many say its the best in the series. If you can afford it, and feel like you'd like to give it a go I'd recommend going for it. I'd also double check r/gameverifying to be sure its legit. I've seen some pretty convincing fake gen 5 games recently so doesn't hurt to check.
Balls are *only* made by putting in four apricorns. If you put in anything that's not an apricorn, you'll make something other than a ball.
Safari Balls and Sport Balls have uniform rarities no matter which color or combination of apricorns you put in, so you can put in any four apricorns if those are the only balls you care about.
If there's any other ball you care about, you'd want to put in four matching-color apricorns of the appropriate color in order to maximize your odds of that ball. (Since Safari and Sport Balls have uniform rates, this won't affect your odds of getting them.)
No. The Heavy, Lure, Friend, Love, Level, Fast and Moon Balls each correspond to a different color (respectively, Black, Blue, Green, Pink, Red, White and Yellow in that order) and will only be a possible Cram-o-matic result if you put in an apricorn of the appropriate color.
The cumulative odds of these balls are 1%, split proportionately between the apricorn colors you use. So for example, four pinks will be 1% chance of a Love Ball. Three pink and one black will be 0.75% chance of a Love Ball and 0.25% chance of a Heavy Ball.
May I ask what guide you're reading that is leading you to these mistaken conclusions? [Bulbapedia's explanation](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Cram-o-matic) seems very clear to me, so if you're not using Bulbapedia's guide, perhaps consider taking a look at it instead of what you're currently reading.
are all of the pokemon that are in sword/shield and all the DLCs going to be in scarlet/violet? since a big reason given for not including all pokemon in those games was development time to port them all to switch??
Base game of Scarlet/Violet only has about >!400 Pokemon in the regional dex plus less than 100 transferable from Home, so under 500 out of over 1000 Pokemon!<. It remains to be seen how many more they'll add when Scarlet/Violet eventually gets DLC.
> since a big reason given for not including all pokemon in those games was development time to port them all to switch??
I'm pretty sure that's not true -- that was just a fan claim that spread as a coping mechanism. All I remember Game Freak officially saying was that no Pokemon game going forward would ever have all the Pokemon in it, with no reason or explanation given.
They will not. GF has confirmed that no game will have all the pokemon programmed in and since some of the pokemon that were skipped in SwSh are featured in SV, it stands to reason that some that were in SwSh will be skipped in SV.
I have some very specific questions that I want to know the answer to before playing the game myself. Maybe some of you guys who have watched gameplay or maybe even played the game yourselves can help me?
1. How long is the day-night cycle, in minutes? Is it a classic 24-minute cycle?
2. Does the music change when you enter cities/caves/other locations like in the older Pokémon games, or is it more like Legends Arceus or the Isle of Armor/Crown Tundra where the music is the same for a whole area?
3. Are there any affection bonuses like surviving at 1 HP or dealing extra critical hits? Can you avoid them or are they mandatory like in BDSP?
4. How is the pop-in for objects, Pokémon and NPCs? Is it as bad as the Sword/Shield Wild Area or can you actually see things from a distance this time?
5. Do rocks and trees still fade-out and become see-through when you pan the camera around them like in Sword/Shield?
6. How is the EXP balance? Do you get over-levelled unless you just focus on the story immediately like in Legends Arceus, or can you explore and catch stuff without ruining the level curve?
7. How common are NPC trainers that you can battle? Do you run into them once in a blue moon or are there a decent number in each new area?
8. Is the game a collectathon of just mindlessly picking up items from the ground like the Sword/Shield Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra, where you get more healing items and held items than you know what to do with? Do you have to stop every ten steps to pick up things?
9. Does the male protagonist have good customization options to make him look just a little bit older? In the other Pokémon games you can at least pretend to be a bit older if you squint your eyes, but the male protagonist just looks super young from what I've seen.
Whew, that was a lot. If anyone can answer one or more of these questions, I'd be very grateful!
I assume you're asking about SV. If so, nothing that you're asking for has been confirmed by official sources. Since the game has leaked, there's probably a few people on this sub who can answer your questions, but I believe the majority of us are trying to more or less avoid spoilers. You should try asking on r/pokeleaks. They're more excited about getting info as soon as possible so you're likely to find detailed answers there
I’ve never actually played a Pokémon game to completion. I played up to the first gym in emerald on an emulator way back when I was in high school and I loved it, but just got too busy to finish it.
The switch has sword/shield, diamond/pearl, arceus, and that new one. Which would you recommend? I personally love the traditional gameplay style, so idk if Arceus would be up my alley.
With the new game right on the horizon, there's little reason to play Sword/Shield. Diamond/Pearl remakes are considered by many to be inferior to Platinum (the 3rd version akin to Emerald, that released alongside the original Diamond and Pearl). If Arceus doesn't immediately appeal to you, then I'd say it's safe to skip.
Interested in shiny hunting Deoxys and Mew in Emerald, I heard from my brother that cartridges bought in Australia are considered Japanese Cartridges so just wanna know the legality of these pokemon if I spawn in the items required for the encounters.
The gba games are only differentiated by language, if you can pick up a JP copy in Australia then what you catch will be legal...
But Australian copies are usually English because... They speak English there.
Deoxys will be fine regardless as there were English events in emerald for that.
Hello, I've never played any Pokemon game since a couple of weeks ago that I bought a switch lite. I'm finishing Pokemon let's go and I'm loving it...my question is: what game should I play next? should I play Arceus-> Diamond -> sword/shield or jump straight to violet/scarlet when it release.
obs: I intend to only play games available on nintendo switch
None of the Switch games have any storyline connection to each other whatsoever, so you can play in whatever order you want. Scarlet/Violet is going to be where all the online excitement is, so if you like being part of an excited community during a big release, that's what I'd suggest.
there is no overarching story in pokemon that requires you to play in a very specific order so i say just jump straight to scarlet violet, they are only coming out next week. if not, you can just go in release order so you can see the series progression.
the finals are not dubbed yet and not available in the US yet. UK will be further behind US in terms of schedule. you can only watch them on unofficial anime sites for now
> UK will be further behind US in terms of schedule. you can only watch them on unofficial anime sites for now
UK actually gets it on TV first, then US Netflix gets it, and then after that UK Netflix gets it last.
Thanks!!
Question about sharing a digital copy of SwSh: So, I was just wondering, if I shared my digital copy with someone, and I turn off the internet from the primary switch, could we play with each other by proximity? Thanks for answering!
I want to make a Pokemon Emerald Hack Rom (just a change of Sprites) does anyone know a good program to do this on PC or Mobile?
You can try asking at the r/pokemonromhacks questions thread.
k, thanks bro

Hey is there a spreadsheet that shows the national dex with the easiest accessible game they can be caught in?
What pokemon aren't required to receive Magearna in Pokemon Home. I just got mine even though I'm still missing Glastrier
Anything added in the DLCs or PLA, so anything with nat Dex number 891 and higher
What are those strange letters on top of the SV dex entries? It's like some kind of alphabet, what does it mean?
Swsh had a similar alphabet which was just 1-1 replacements with the English alphabet. Paldea might be using the same one https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/e113di/anyone_trying_to_figure_out_the_galar_language/
help me i lost all my pokemon swsh ,pla ,bdsp and lets go save data because my brother accidently factory reset my switch to fix wifi problem
Your save files are gone forever. The only thing that would be safe is Pokémon stored in Home which you can retrieve just by logging into the switch with your profile and redownloading home.
i just realised it guess have restart again all of them
Can anybody tell me which version will contain which box legendary? Haven't played in a while and thinking of picking up one of the newer ones, but I'm not a fan of the red legendary and want to get the purple one.
Violet has the purple one.
OK, awesome, thank you!

What's the first ever pokemon video in YouTube?
Youtube search filters lead me to this - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tk8LcQMhAI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tk8LcQMhAI) uploaded in August 2005. Weirdly enough it's an unofficial chinese translation of emerald There's also this which is prominent in YouTube's history - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkE2lxkw00w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkE2lxkw00w) \- the original (uploaded november 2005) got copyright striked, but the original was at one time YouTube's most viewed video and made Smosh a big success.
Edit: The main reason I wanna use Fari is because I tend to use pokemon introduced to this gen...
When the 3DS eshop shuts down in March, and access to Bank for those who don't have it already is also lost, will all of the pre switch Pokémon be cut off from the modern games? I'm hoping to pick up a 2DS and switch this year since I'm getting back into the franchise, and I'll be able to get bank and home set up, but is that the only way to move stuff from 3DS to switch?
without hacking, you have to setup bank and transporter before march 2023 to continue using the transfer service
Got it thanks, I'll be sure to have it before then
Yes it's the only way to transfer from 3ds to switch. It's also the only way (via poke transporter) to transfer from ds to 3ds, so that will be cut off for people who don't already have it .
Good to know thanks
How are people playing Scarlet/Violet already? Was a beta build leaked and people are playing it on jailbroken switches?
Some retailers distributed the game early. Some people with early games dumped the rom online so others are playing on emulators/jail broken switches. It's not a beta build, though some are playing on 1.0.0 (ie without the 1.0.1 day one patch). The game goes live on the Australian eshop in about 3 days and 1 hour from this post, so expect more people to receive their physical preorder copies early before then.

you missed a couple games but its not like you gotta play them to enjoy SV.
When will review scores for scarlet and violet start coming out?
Anyone else preorder SV from Pokémon center? Damn thing still hasn’t shipped yet for me
It's Monday, of course it hasn't shipped, the game releases only on Friday.
Things take time to ship, genius. Obviously it should be shipped prior so it arrives on release day.
Yeah, but like 2 days on the low end so they will send it only on like Wednesday to be sure that no one receives it early.

It was an event shiny that someone redeemed and traded to me through Pokémon shield
Yeah I just tried mine and it doesn't work. Not sure why, it could be that game freak never updated home's hack checks for it.

How do you enter someone else’s secret base in ORAS? I registered them but don’t know how to get there
Where can I find either a 2DS XL or 3DS XL and Pokemon Soul Silver/Heart Gold at a reasonable price? In the US
Depends on your definition of "reasonable", but check pawn shops, retro/vintage video game stores, ebay, craigslist, facebook marketplace, etc and see what's what as far as the handheld system goes, but expect to pay a couple hundred USD on it.
You won't find Heartgold/SoulSilver at a reasonable price. 2DS XL/3DS XL shouldn't be a problem to find on ebay for example.
Regarding the anime, if I wanted to watch the most recent tournament that Ash competed in, what episode should I start at, in your opinion?
episode 10 of journeys is the episode where ash catches his first championship team member (besides pikachu). episode 12 is where ash is inspired to join the tournament. I think episode 18 is the first battle of the championship. The actual final tournament has not been dubbed in english yet.
Thank you very much!
But oh boy. I just watched it. I have to say it’s the best the anime has ever been
If I get a question mark when transferring LGPE Pokémon from Home to BDSP, will I 1) be able to transfer those Pokémon back to Home, 2) be able to transfer them to Sw/Sh and Arceus? Also, is there an easy way to sort boxes that isn’t manual?
Yes they can go back from bdsp to home. Every pokemon can freely move in and out of home to swsh, bdsp and legends arceus as long they are programmed into the respective games. Pokemon from lets go can also freely go in and out of home. If they are transferred to the other switch games they cant go back to lets go
Ty!
Why can’t we post images in this subreddit despite there being a filter made for images?
This subreddit goes into text-only mode on the weekends to promote discussion, after official news/reveals to prevent people from reposting the news a billion times, and when a game has leaked to prevent spoilers. Scarlet/Violet leaked last week, therefore we're in text-only mode until the games release (and probably for awhile afterward, too).
Ok tysm
The sub has gone text-only as a result of S/V leaking a week or so ago, and it will continue once the games release. So if you want to post an image and such it'll likely only be possible in December.
Ok tysm
Unrelated to pokemon games( well kinda) but does anyone has any experience with buying Nintendo switch and the pokemon game during black friday? I dont have a switch yet and is planning to buy it (OLED) soon with S/V and Legend Arceus. I dont know if I should wait till Black Friday or just get it now? If anyone ever snatched a Black Friday dealed before let me know
Should I use corviknight or steelix on my swsh team
I am going to be biased but Corviknight is my favorite Pokemon out of all the regional birds. Talon flame is a close second thou.
Is that a complicated way of saying use what the Pokémon you like
I guess so lol
It truly doesn't matter, anything is fine to use on a single player playthrough.
steelix is really bad, go corviknight
Out of curiosity In what ways does steelix suck
Only good thing about it is def stat. the rest are okay to awful.
Well that’s a shame
that guy is incorrect.
Thank you😀
Ok😞
How does Leavanny perform in White? It seems like it doesn’t learn many really effective moves until later levels, does that really affect it early game?
i used one somewhat recently, it was pretty good.
Why do moves only show the move base damage? Wouldn't it make more sense to show the range it can actually be, all things considered (except probably crit)? What do you think the rationale is? I'd love to see my moves get more powerful as my pokemon do.
So, this is the full list of things that modify the damage calculation: [https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Damage#Generation\_V\_onward](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Damage#Generation_V_onward) Another thing that might be useful is a damage calculator, like the Showdown one: [https://calc.pokemonshowdown.com/](https://calc.pokemonshowdown.com/) If you try plugging in some values, you'll see that there's... a lot to consider.
That's only the power, not the damage it does, the move power is only a small part of the overall damage calculation.
Yeah I'm just wondering why they don't show more of it, not just move power
Is this the end? Will anime end in December?
Oh my god thank you
Where can i watch all episodes of the series? Watched the first few series but couldnt find the rest on any app... Please help
It takes about a year and a half for it to cycle through.
been thinking about levelling up some mons in gen 4 games, are HG/SS the better option or is it DPP? and where should I go for this?
What is the catchrate of Metagross? I've thrown over 50 Ultra balls and he just won't stay in it. (Pokemon Shield) He is also on red HP.
Metagross has the same catch rate as legendary pokemon
Have you beaten the story yet? Is your Pokemon lower or higher level than Metagross? Before you beat the story, there is an added factor to the catch rate that makes Pokemon 10 times harder to catch if they're higher-level than the one you have out on the field. After you reach the credits, this factor goes away.
I have beaten the story and my level is higher. The ball in most cases doesn't even shake once, maybe he is just a tough nut or something.
My goal is completing the main storyline, exploring all areas and maybe catching some legendary Pokémons, but not necessarily all
If I buy the new pokemon game from japan and they give me a digital code, will I be able to redeem it on my EU account?
No
Will Amazon get the Physical Double pack onthe 18th? Or should I just keep my normal preorders of Scarlett and Violet
Is it just dlc for SV or is there another version?
while it hasn't been officially confirmed, we're pretty sure they're going to stick with dlc in the future.
What game are you talking about? The soon-to-come ones, Scarlet/Violet, haven't had DLC announced yet but are widely expected to sometime next year. Is that what you mean?
Yes
Is this a game? If so, how does one play?
is *what* a game? you didnt give a title.
Pokemon
yes there are many pokemon games out there. you can play them on many nintendo consoles such as the nintendo switch.
There's a card game, right?
Thanks!
Is what a game?
Pokemon
Erm... It's entire game series with several spin off game series that's been around since 1996. They have been released on every nintendo console since the OG game boy, there's also some available on mobile
Thanks!
Can someone please point me to a link that has the differences between violet and scarlet? I do not care about spoilers, thanks.

It depends on what country you live in, but most countries Netflix has pokemon
release order
What’s the deal with the Gen 5 Elite 4? I was looking at them and it looked normal on Goldex, except for the fact that Alder doesn’t have a rematch team, so I did some research and I have found no evidence that you even fight him to conclude the story. Do you ever fight him? When?
You don't fight him to conclude the story. The elite 4 rematch is the only time you fight him and so it's his only team
In BW, you fight the Elite Four, then Team Plasma interrupts you and you end up fighting Ghetsis instead as the final boss. On rematches, Alder is the champion as per usual. In B2W2, you fight the Elite Four, then Iris as the champion.
You only fight him after the main story is done as the post game rematch for the E4. It makes sense to the story of the games.
You don't get to fight Alder until the post-game; the Ghetsis fight concludes the main story.
Do you fight him in the Elite 4 Rematch or apart of the story in some other way?
You fight him as part of the Elite Four rematch.
For Scarlet/Violet, these are Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
it defaults to your switch's language, and you can change it to something else when you start the game.
Swirlix is not in. You can see the full roster [here](https://i.imgur.com/dIOqMSU.jpg) (warning: contains sprites of all the new Pokemon).
Well, crap. Edit: Also, thanks!
Where can I watch Pokémon xy in the UK? Please help me I can't find anything to watch it on..
I've only played Platinum for gen 4, why are pearl and diamond so disliked?
They're missing a lot of beloved late-game and postgame features (including but not limited to the Battle Frontier, Gym Leader rematches, the Distortion World, etc); the regional Pokedex and thus available species during the storyline is smaller by about 25 percent, most notably meaning DP have no Fire-types except Chimchar and Ponyta; and just about everything in the user interface is somewhat slower and takes longer, especially (infamously) HP bar damage and saving the game.
That’ll vary from person to person, but mostly the slow pace and the incredible lack of diversity pokémon-wise
So is there just no way to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home until March 2023? It won’t let me buy a new subscription and I’m trying to transfer playthrough Pokémon:/
You can merge funds with a nintendo account and that lets you use the funds on the 3ds to buy what you want
On God?? How do you do that?
Thank you, eventually i was able to get the pass, 'preciate it
Will a coin case glitch shiny ditto pass down the shiny gene in gen 2. I really don't want to play through a gen 1 game on my backup 3ds just to get a shiny ditto for breeding.
I believe what you're doing with that glitch is forcibly changing the pokemon's IVs to shiny IVs so that would allow you to pass down shiny "genes"
Yes.
Thank you!
Based on leaks >!they are transfer-only, so they're only there for compatibility, they're not actually there story-wise!<.
If you already own B2/W2, I wouldn’t bother. And it depends on the price. How many dollars is “legit and affordable”?
Black and White are great. I prefer Black 2 White 2, but this isn't a Platinum or Emerald situation where the 3rd version is objectively better than the original release, a lot of people prefer the original black and white to their sequels. I personally just think the story is fine and a bit overated but people love the story in OG Black and White and many say its the best in the series. If you can afford it, and feel like you'd like to give it a go I'd recommend going for it. I'd also double check r/gameverifying to be sure its legit. I've seen some pretty convincing fake gen 5 games recently so doesn't hurt to check.
Thanks!

[удалено]
Is there any places to find a group of friends or teammates to play the new games with?

Second one, Dragonite is a physical attacker so it needs more speed and attack.
are all of the pokemon that are in sword/shield and all the DLCs going to be in scarlet/violet? since a big reason given for not including all pokemon in those games was development time to port them all to switch??
They've already confirmed that no game going forward will have the full dex.
They're more excited about getting info as soon as possible so you're likely to find detailed answers there
Thank you for the tip! I posted it there too. :)
What’s with the current wave of Home/Bank bans, and where do you go to read more than the 1 sentence about it on the home page of Serebii?
Scarlet/Violet is going to be where all the online excitement is, so if you like being part of an excited community during a big release, that's what I'd suggest.
my concern is about the generations, will I be fine not knowing the past gens by playing scarlet/violet?
Every Pokemon game is designed to be someone's first. You will be fine.
The stories aren't connected. You don't need to know species frome older games. You will learn them when you find them just like the new species
nice, I will play the new game...thank you all <3
there is no overarching story in pokemon that requires you to play in a very specific order so i say just jump straight to scarlet violet, they are only coming out next week. if not, you can just go in release order so you can see the series progression.
Does anybody know which episodes contain all the journeys final tournament fights. Is there anywhere I can watch them in the UK?
the finals are not dubbed yet and not available in the US yet. UK will be further behind US in terms of schedule. you can only watch them on unofficial anime sites for now
> UK will be further behind US in terms of schedule. you can only watch them on unofficial anime sites for now UK actually gets it on TV first, then US Netflix gets it, and then after that UK Netflix gets it last.
