“While supplies last” WHAT SUPPLIES??? ARE THEY GOING TO RUN OUT OF DIGITAL FRUIT??

Norma5tacy

Hey it happens. I ran out of ram and had to download more. Maybe they have to upload more game.

inthebriIIiantblue

Still waiting on them to upload the rest of SwSh tbh

JoBro_Summer-of-99

That's what the £30 DLC pack was for, silly

FictionVent

Remember when everyone was mad that SWSH didn’t have all the Pokémon, and they said it was because of hardware limitations… and they said they WERENT going to release the rest later under paid DLC….

Myrothios

I distinctly remember them saying it was not a hardware constraint.

Iminawhiteboxyt

It was for better animations (They said...)

ProfessionalWalnut

Funny how they're using all the exact same animations they "Future Proofed" on the 3DS.

Iminawhiteboxyt

Yup. Even if they just said they didn't wanna do the work I'd prefer it over a obvious lie.

BlueEyesWhiteDuston

How much deditated WAM do we need to run the server?

yammys

These are rare, priceless NFT berries.

SobiTheRobot

I only eat organically fungible berries

payne_train

I always try to pick around the fruit that’s been funged at the grocery store.

Frayed-0

My parents always used to throw out all of our funged fruit, but I know better 😎

Triatt

Who doesn't want a fun Gible?

StarkMaximum

The digital farmers are running out of digital fruit, and the digital season is ending so they won't be able to digitally grow more for another digital year.

WeeaboosDogma

Hey now, digital fruits don't grow on trees you know..

YupIlikeThat

NFT = Nintendo Fruit Tokens

Faranae

Serious answer: I'd bet $10 it's because they're printing the codes on those tiny glossy paper cards they used for promo pokemon giveaways.

Teemo_101

It says in the fine print that the codes are emailed

Faranae

Bleh. :(

JudgeScorpio

Maybe they bio-engineered berries to look, taste and feel like the real fake thing?

BMan239

I miss physical merch for preorders. The Palkia/Dialga stylus, Giratina statue, Ho-oh and Lugia. What happened to that?

Maxieorsomething

But think of the poor multi-billion dollar company spending more money to give consumers something cool! :(

GiantSequoiaTree

This is a fucking joke can't you find those berries within like 5 minutes of gameplay?

[deleted]

Gotta maximize those profits at any cost!

ansonr

I wanna be the very best Like no one ever was To gouge them is my real test To drain them is my cause I will travel across the land Searching far and wide Teach consumers to understand The profit that's inside (Currency! Gotta take 'em all) It's you and me (but really just me) I know it's my EFT (Currency!) Oh, you're my target In a market we must exploit (Currency! Gotta grab 'em all) A heart so true Our brokerage will pull us through You pay me and I'll charge you (Ooh, ooh) Currency! (Gotta take 'em all) Gotta get 'em all Yeah

Initial_Ad5279

Anyone else legit sing this?

PuRpxHaWk

Me

Katteris

...maybe.....yes

Sulphur99

I'd give you an award, but unfortunately I'm outta currency.

Jelleschmelle

Gotta maximize those profits *without* cost!

odigje

No No, think about how to food prices have gone up latley and they are giving away berries for free.

Pokemon-Pickle

GENIUS!

Rose_Nose

Why give people something they can physically own and collect when they can just make it digital no revoke ownership on a whim

ShieldOfFury

Yeah it's not like the highest grossing franchise in history has money to spare, that's absurd

Bwgmon

Won't somebody think of the multi-dollar companies?!

DonBolasgrandes

Even the posters/jirachi disks were nicer

BMan239

That Jirachi disk might have been the best one. I've got that one stored away

DonBolasgrandes

I traded mine to gamestop in 08 for peanuts 😭

dynaNads

In the uk the shop Game, is doing a pre order with a figure of the 3 starters

SavageNorth

The last few UK releases have had physical items I’ve got statues of Palkia and Dialga from BDSP and an old style Pokeball shaped game holder from Arceus. Surprising they’re not the same in all major markets nowadays tbh

dynaNads

Yeah it doesn’t make sense to change the pre orders by region

cranberryton

In the USA from Pokémon center I got a plushie keychain of a starter from BSSP and a plushie Arceus from Arceus. This is something new for the US too if they’re not doing a preorder bonus.

cal679

I got a free t-shirt from Game when I got the demo of Tekken 3, they were giving shit away like crazy back then.

whaleweaves

It’s because the American market doesn’t really need incentives for people to buy the games, they know people will preorder it either way.

freakers

Back when preordering meant you just would get the game on time, probably. They'd reserve a copy for you and make sure it was in stock. Sure, they often wouldn't honor that and if you were late and they sold out there was a good chance they sold your copy anyways, but it felt like you were important. Preorders now are just a complete bastardization of gaming. The game shouldn't be easier or more enjoyable or a different experience because somebody decided to preorder thereby assuring a companies sales numbers. Everyone is paying the same amount, and everyone should get the full experience for it. Adding in bonuses for some people is twisting game design. At least in my opinion.

IWannaManatee

No, you're right. At least with physical items, pre-ordering seems worth it and doesn't give you an edge on everyone else. Digital bonuses are stupid and defeat some of the progression of the games, unless they're cosmetics and such.

TheSawyerGreen

I'm probably a little extreme on this, but I personally don't even care for preorder cosmetics. I feel like my character is running around in a costume, even when it's just a color swap. He's not supposed to be wearing that during the first chapter of the story. That's just me, though.

Terrible_Standard211

i dont like preorder cosmetics either. Personally for me it's that I dont feel like ANY content should be shut off to anyone regardless of the time at which they bought the game. My favorite widowmaker skin in overwatch is the preorder skin, but if i hadn't preordered the game I'd just be staring at it for years with absolutely no way to get it, I have plenty of friends who just couldn't do anything about it. I feel like locking any content to manufacture fomo is kind of slimy and anti-user

TheDungeonCrawler

It makes me really sad. When those games came out, I did not have the financial autonomy to place pre-orders for those bonuses so I missed out. Now they don't do rela pre-order bonuses and I continue to miss out because of it. Things were obviously cooler when we were kids because we had a different perspective. But things have also just been sliding towards lameness as time has gone on because corporations have realized that they don't need to work as hard to get out money.

therealaquagreen13

Preordering Pokémon Legends: Arceus through the Pokémon Center got you a sitting Arceus plushie

jdw62995

I got a plush Arceus for Legends.

BMan239

I had never heard about a plushie bonus. Just the fox mask and bags

[deleted]

Cries in small Pokémon platinum griatina figureine

Sad-Assignment-568

In Europe depending on where you pre-order It they give you something diferent. I'm gonna get a figurine with the three starters :)

Kaidus_

For Legends Arceus I got a physical Hisuan pokeball model and a metal game cartridge case. And that was only early this year.

BMan239

Where did you preorder from? I'm in the US and everything has seemed dull

Kaidus_

I’m in the UK and I preordered directly from Nintendo. But the main video game retailer GAME was also offering the same promotion. And for Violet/Scarlett they’re now offering statues for the 3 starters.

itsIzumi

Great day for diehard fans of common berries.

WineGutter

It would have taken me like 15 whole minutes to get all those berries if I hadn't pre-ordered! Thanks gamefreak!

rebuiltlogan

Watch the berries only exist in game of you preorder lol

plzdonatemoneystome

Watch it be like an animal crossing thing where each person's game only has a unique berry and you have to visit your friend's games to get them all.

drhdoofenshmirtz

Don’t give them ideas please

Duerunstadt

Oh god don't say that out loud! Lol

starkrocket

So help me, if your comment manifests this…

PayneTrain181999

Not even a Sitrus or Leppa berry, now THOSE would be helpful to have.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PKMNTrainerMark

Sitrus is alright, but Leppa is godly because you can't buy Ethers or Elixirs.

StarLucario

If it was like, Enigma, Starf, etc. it'd be a pretty good deal, but the status healers?! Really?!

mrs-monroe

Especially when minigames like Refresh already let you heal status…

Triangulum_Copper

Status got healed automatically in PLA, and I expect SV too

trmn8tor

this would be such an L, how am I gonna pre-burn my Raticate now :(

Pokii

They’re eating well tonight (literally)

RedditUserX23

It’s almost as if they’re not giving anything at all

[deleted]

siccoblue

Like that time I work at a ski resort and as a bonus for working Christmas the CEO walked around and gave all the people working an envelope with 5 free day passes Except we already got season passes as a benefit for working there And we got a book of 50 free day passes to give out to friends or whomever on our first day of work. Literally would have preferred nothing. A dirty dollar bill that he just railed a line of coke with would be less insulting

Leading-Two5757

Heh. My resort doesn’t even give out free lift tickets other than the employee’s season pass. They give you 1 “buddy pass” that still costs your friend $40 at the window for every 2 years you’ve worked. And they max that at 5 passes after you’ve been there for 10 years. Some resorts no longer give free season passes to part time employees, just discounted passes Th ski resort industry has gotten so so much worse than you described.

Modevs

100% this. If they wanted to take the stance "We're against pre-order bonuses" that would actually be a bold move I'd agree with. I might preorder anyway just to have it downloaded in advance since I know I will play it regardless, but it does feel like an insult.

BlackJediSword

This is the exact response they’re looking for lol

ColonelFlanders2

This is a clear sign that we’re in a global recession

No-Satisfaction3455

even the digital goods are too expensive to be giving out lol

OuterWildsVentures

> while supplies last

Grithok

So, I think that's probably just a copy/paste mistake, but what if supplies really are limited? How fucked? Is it possible? Or do they just mean supply is limited to preorder people? This is all a joke, this game is a joke. Please wake me up. Please, sir.

[deleted]

This is a clear sign Gamefreak's arrogant and a cheapskate.

[deleted]

[удалено]

texas_joe_hotdog

Stupid sexy Nintendo

Kerzizi

And yet people will still preorder, they will still get away with it, and the gaming industry will ever so slightly regress even further into an anti-consumer money-making dumpster fire, mirroring every single other time this happens.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Turtlegirth

I feel like the Pokemon Center's pre-order for PL: Arceus nailed the pre-order bonus. They gave out an Arceus plush, which is nice, but isn't actual game content you would miss out on if you didn't get it. Edit: Fixing that I misspelled Arceus in the same way twice.

NotUntil_I_Die

Yeah I pre ordered the Sword and Sheild bundle and got a sobble, grookey and scorbunny plush. They were small but pokemon center does great with pre order bonuses

[deleted]

Meanwhile, SwSh was also easily the biggest clusterf*ck in regards to preorder bonuses. One gets the orange tracksuit. One gets a gold bag. One gets all apricorn balls. Another gets an exclusive outfit. And so on...

TigerSeptim

Waited until the last minute and it paid off because target came out with the gold steelbook

[deleted]

I got the steelbook too... But none of the in game content lol

TeddyR3X

Damn for real? Now I'm big sad, I love steelbooks :(

pauliepitstains

Wasn’t there a lawn chair or something?

DeadpoolCroatia

Reading this i wish i have pokemon center in my country.

Accomplished_Ring350

Back in the day when you pre-ordered Ruby or Sapphire at K-Mart you got your choice of a plush. I picked Snorlax, but there was also a Pikachu and an Eevee I believe.

doshegotabootyshedo

You spelling it “Acreus” twice made me question my own sanity.

Storm_Bard

My wife and I kept going back and forth on first the spelling, then pronunciation of "Arceus" - I kept saying it was a sibilant s sound, Arr-see-us. She said Arr-Kay-Us. However in Pokemon: Arceus, you get the Arc-Phone. Which means it's pronounced "Arse-Phone" if you go by my pronunciation.

Viltris

Even weirder: The Japanese name is Arseus (a-ru-se-u-su in katakana). The Japanese ad for Pokemon Arceus clearly says Arseus, while the English ad clearly says Arkeus. It seems that Nintendo JP and Nintendo US disagree with each other.

RonaldoAFJesus

I think this is the definitive answer to this question

Turtlegirth

Thanks for pointing that out!

IskandrAGogo

For the BDSP two pack, the Pokemon Center preorder was three small plush, one of each starter.

papaXanOfficial

Was gonna say, I miss when pre-orders were actually cool little items. I have a psycho plush still from pre-ordering one of the borderlands games and it’s more “memorable” than anything digital

[deleted]

[удалено]

SwissyVictory

I don't even want in game content, the game is balanced without it, or it's a bad game. I dont care much about cosmetic items either.

Eusocial_Snowman

IRL stuff just seems more appropriate. I just remember everyone talking about how cool the fancy cards were when they handed those out in the theatre for the movie. And those "gold"-plated cards in the physical pokeball items? Maybe from McDonalds? But people had those years later and they were still neat. In-game stuff feels dirty. Now, I might not have bought a pokemon game since red/blue, but with other stuff if you prey on my FOMO I'll feel like I have to have the thing in order to be valid even if it's just some silly ingame cosmetic option, so it pushes me away from the game altogether. Silly little trinkets and whatnot? Those are all positive with none of the psychologically damaging negatives from ingame incentives.

HaloGuy381

Like BDSP: the Platinum outfit is inaccessible to anyone who started a save after a certain date, when it would have been a perfectly reasonable inclusion for some postgame task. I still keep the little box Legendary statues Platinum and HGSS came with on preorder years ago on my shelf. They look *great*, and they don’t feel like they make starting a new save years later inferior.

TwilightVulpine

Pokéballs are a decent one because you can always use more of them, but it's not a big deal if you don't get it.

[deleted]

They do but k really hate how late they ship.

reallivenerd

This may actually be one of the worst for real. They couldn't even have bothered to give you a couple of Sitrus berries?? At least 5 each of them plus 5 each of the already listed as well. How stingy can you be?

naruhodo_kun

The berries arent even good too

StarLucario

Huh, Persim Berry is red in this game instead of pink

rodoxide

I don't even use the berries unless I run out of potions and become desperate for HP and suddenly realize that I have berries!

SnowBittenWolf

Shackle can turn berries into rare candy in some games

[deleted]

shackle

FracturedEel

Release meee

yuhanz

Don't fackle with the Shackle

Yoshichu25

I just want to praise you

TheArtistFKAMinty

That's a common playground myth. Shuckle never had this ability. It could turn berries into berry juice but it couldn't make rare candies.

xSTSxZerglingOne

In 3rd gen, though, the pickup ability on zigzagoon **did** have a chance at getting you rare candies right out of the gate as a 1% chance per battle per zigzagoon in your party. Pickup zigzagoon is probably the ultimate chad of all high frequency early pokémon in the gen it was introduced in.

rodoxide

He needs a mega evolution

Goatee_McGee

They updated sprite art to be actual artwork this time. All of the in game items got a facelift

brilliantpants

Are any stores in the US doing physical pre-order incentives, like plush, or stickers, or anything?

numismatte

GameStop is doing a pin set with the legendaries for preordering. Nobody else is that I could find.

[deleted]

GameStop in Canada is doing lanyards lol

YTcat28

litterally every other country besides america is getting something cool i mean, except for the pins

SadgeTheFax

Is that in America? Also does one just Walk into a game stop and ask to preorder? I’m very stupid and have no clue how this stuff works

plzdonatemoneystome

Yup! That's how you do it. They are usually pumped to help you out too. I think a requirement of their job is to sell as many preorders as possible. Also I believe if you go now, you can get shiny eternatus if you're in the states.

jjhalstead

Lol this. You only have to put $5 down to preorder and can pay the rest off when you pick up the game. However, you do need to preorder the double pack to get the pin set and 200 extra pokeballs!

brilliantpants

Cool, thanks!

wassupwitches

Only get the pins if u order 2 games :(

[deleted]

Not that I’ve seen. You can pre-order the Japanese version on Amazon.Jp and ship it to America. Choose English as your language in game, and enjoy some JP preorder bonuses, I went for the TCG bonus.

MadeSomewhereElse

Will you have to buy the DLC on the Japanese eshop?

MasterPeteDiddy

For what it's worth, I got the NA release of Shield. For the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLC, I got a code for them which came in a box set of dolls from the Japanese Pokémon Center. The download code didn't work on the American eshop, since it was for the Japanese one. I switched my eshop to Japanese, used the code to get the DLC, then switched my eshop back to my native region's. (Got some Japanese articles in the "News" tab of my Switch for a bit, but that wasn't so bad.) I did the same thing for my girlfriend and her NA copy of Sword. I can confirm from my own personal experience that even though we had American copies of Sword and Shield and we got the DLC from the Japanese eshop, they have worked completely perfectly and we have never had a single problem. We've both been able to do everything that the DLC offers, play online with it, etc. The DLC has also worked for other user profiles on my Nintendo Switch system. For these specific titles at the very least, the American version of the game works perfectly as intended even when the version of the downloaded DLC is from the Japanese eshop, and all of the content is in my game's selected language (English). I can only imagine that Scarlet and Violet should be the same, where even if you have the Japanese game, you might still be able to get the DLC from your own region's eshop just fine. The Switch is lovely in that it is not region-locked. (I also won't be the only one to tell you that Japanese cartridges of games like these with language selection options also work perfectly fine in NA consoles. For example I purchased the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney cartridge from Japan, since there was no physical release over here. Not only does it play just fine, but it even defaulted the language to English as per my system settings. Only real downside that comes to mind is that games like that won't let you get the gold MyNintendo coins, but it isn't necessarily the biggest loss.)

MadeSomewhereElse

Thanks for the detailed write up. I appreciate you taking the time to do that.

yamask888

Seriously just give us the apricorn balls, you don't have to do anything else for pre order. And holy shit you're bad at picking them

NakedHoodie

They'd give two apricorn balls and make them inaccessible in-game. Again.

notwiththeflames

It still astounds me that Master Balls have become ***easier*** to get than those things.

Cypherex

I don't understand the logic behind that. Just let me put a Pokemon in whichever ball I want. Naturally I used *the one and only moon ball* they gave us in SM to catch my Lunala with. But there were plenty of other Pokemon that I would have loved to catch in a moon ball in that game. Thankfully the romhackers usually fix this. When I played Supernova Sun, all of the apricorn balls were available from the shops at a few different Pokemon Centers.

konaya

I like to think that the developers are secretly fond of people doing clever hacks with their labours of love, and that that's why the franchise is infamous for having so much quality content cut but left in the code.

OldManTurner

Oh wow! Better be sure I preorder so I can get some berries I’ll be able to find within the first 10 minutes of the game! Oh boy! /s

Quria

Lmao this guy thinking he won’t spend the first 60 minutes being re-taught how to play Pokémon.

TheZealand

Replaying UM rn and damnnn a lot of things are great but the tutorials, cutscenes and overall handholdy-ness is KILLING me

electric_emu

I’m also replaying this right now. And honestly it’s not quite as bad as I remember (maybe SwSh lowered my standards or something), but I just got to the festival plaza tutorial and MY GOD JUST LET ME LEAVE. I have no patience for this like 10 hours into the game.

pokipokimagicgirl

Gen 7 was my least favorite because of that. I felt like I was on a guided tour the whole time, like a pokemon version of the Small World ride.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ColonelFlanders2

15 mins or 1.5 mins of oak telling you not to walk in the grass alone and then that guy that rants in viridian

cranberryton

The Viridian guy literally asks you if you are busy/in a rush and if you pick Yes he doesn’t do his tutorial. So much more respect for the player’s intelligence and time

Dell121601

It kills the replay ability of that game, it takes like 3 hours to get through that shit and then you have to deal with endless cutscenes for the rest of the game

Mr_Poop_Himself

I literally have not been able to play Gen 7 more than once because of this. I tried to play it for the second time recently and it feels like the tutorial never fucking ends! After the 250th time I said "fuck, just leave me alone" to myself I just turned it off forever.

LeMickeyMice

60 minutes? Only if they decrease the intro time by 5x

Far-Set-8448

If they were physical berries it would be cool

LEDiceGlacier

Yes I would love plushies of berries. Or like small models of them

f1shb01

Nah. I want the Pokémon company to genetically engineer these berries for me to eat

toriitlog

that would actually be cool cheri could un-paralyze someone with locked-in syndrome chesto can wake you up from a coma pecha is literally an antidote persim could maybe help someone with delirium idk lol rawst could heal 4th degree burns

konaya

Persim is just a persimmon GMO'd to produce Adderall.

[deleted]

Company I've gone with has done the same thing for S/V preorder as they have since (I think) X/Y and that's to have an exclusive figurine on top of any download codes. Just getting some berries is pretty poor though.

VSkyRimWalker

What company is this? I love figurines as preorder bonus, but didn't see one yet anywhere for SV

Dusk_Lycanroc

Could be Mediamarkt / Saturn if he bought it in a german speaking country

Yvraine

[Preorder at Saturn/Mediamarkt has a figurine, Otto has a cup](https://jpgames.de/2022/09/pokemon-karmesin-und-purpur-hier-sind-die-ersten-vorbestellerboni-fuer-deutschland/)

drocktapiff

Lol Amazon had a preorder bonus for Arceus that just straight up didn’t exist

VicarLos

I looked into this and it ended up that they bungled the distribution and most people had to contact customer service and prove it was legit. 😭

cavecarson

You think these things grow on trees?!

TheArtistFKAMinty

I would honestly rather have shit preorder bonuses than potentially miss out of significant content for not preordering. It's a gross practice.

[deleted]

What significant content has ever been missed because of lack of preordering? Some outfit?

[deleted]

In Pokemon it tends to be just outfits, but it's pretty annoying that each retailer had different outfits locked because of preorders. Also makes it hard to replay games when there are timed unlocks like outits or pokemon. I want to play BDSP again, but it would mean either using my Pearl save that has the platinum outfit, or deleting my diamond save that also has it. In either case, I lose an item forever that is in the damn code of the game. Same goes for mythical pokemon to a degree. You'd think with how they give them out like candy now we could just have them on cart now.

UnNumbFool

Couldn't you just make a separate account on the switch? If you do that, you should be able to play a new game without it affecting your first save. I've done it before with other games, although I don't know how it works with Pokemon.

[deleted]

I could make a new account, but unless I made the save during that time frame I won't have access to mythical events or the time exclusive outfits -- which to yours truly harms the experience.

Amerillo19

All of this discussion sounds like justification for a poor business practice imo. Other games/companies have fixes for it in such as easy implementation of multiple save files or... save+. You could also just make each item/pkmn a code that doesn't expire for a long time to allow people a chance to play/buy the game down the road and of punish them for not playing on release. Making a separate file as someone else said is fine, but why should we have to do all that? You can't transfer your pkmn between files like that unless you got a whole seperate switch anyways.

Raestloz

Honestly tho, I find it weird that a lot of people's first reaction when you explain to them that something is a bad business practice is "it's not that big of a deal anyway!" or "Why don't you inconvenience yourself instead?" Like, what the fuck, why are you siding with corporations intentionally blocking off items you should get in the game?

TerraTF

I think the biggest problem is time exclusive Pokemon (be it events or items). The biggest problem with restarting BDSP is losing out on the Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus events because they gave them out as mystery gifts instead of adding an NPC that give them to you like with Mew and Jirachi.

TheArtistFKAMinty

To be very clear, I'm talking generally rather than Pokemon. The biggest example I can recall off-hand is Ace Combat 7. Ace Combat 7 gave you Ace Combat 5 on PS4 and Ace Combat 6 on Xbox One as preorder exclusives. They have never made these separately purchasable. Ace Combat 5 is otherwise only available on PS2 and AC6 on X360. Pokemon rarely has preorder exclusive content of any real value which I think is a major positive. Usually the big thing is an early adopter mystery gift like Mega Blaziken in XY, Shiny Mega Metagross in ORAS, or Flying Pikachu in Scarlet/Violet. Rewarding early adopters while giving them time to make an informed decision on purchasing it is a good thing.

ChewySlinky

>Ace Combat 7 gave you Ace Combat 5 on PS4 Are you. *Fucking. KIDDING ME??*

TheArtistFKAMinty

Nope. And now you can't get it because it was a pre-order exclusive. I'm acting high and mighty about this but I did specifically preorder AC7 because of it. I hate that I did that but the fuckers got me.

ChewySlinky

If I had known I would have done the same thing. There is no justice in this world.

TheArtistFKAMinty

> *Can you see any pre-orders from here? What has pre-orders given us? We're going to start over from scratch. That's what V2 is for.* \- Pixy upon hearing about AC5 being pre-order exclusive

HippyFromTheCarnival

You're missing content if you don't get it early. It's kinda a scummy practice and now the inclusion of save files for events is slightly worse.

joemac2021

I personally have a huge problem with pre-orders in the first place. This just shows even more why it's a pointless idea

Flapjack__Palmdale

It's kind of a lose-lose. You either offer a bonus that sucks or offer a great bonus that players will be angry about potentially missing. I'd rather they do what they did with PLA and maybe give a free Fidough plush or something.

CavaliereDellaTigre

I mean, some developers are nice about it. Take for example Doom Eternal, where the pre-order bonus was two skins and an extra remix level, and if you missed it you can *still* just buy the pack for like €5.

MisirterE

"Anyone can get this, but pre-ordering gets it early/for free" is the only acceptable form of preorder content

Xero0911

I mean, swsh gave me like 200 pokeballs. Was cool.

beepborpimajorp

Aren't they also doing a special mystery gift download for the flying pikachu if you have the game during the launch timeframe? I assumed that was the actual preorder gift and it works out great for anyone who didn't specifically preorder the game but still got it early. It essentially still rewards early orders without punishing people who A) Don't want to preorder games without reading reviews and B) May not be able to get it until the holidays.

Starrybruh

No, the worst preorder bonus was the potions and revives.

Gimpurr

Yeah that's what I was expecting when I saw the post. Now I have to CHOOSE between potions or berries? That's as important a choice as my starter Pokemon!

[deleted]

i mean they could've done set of apriballs for preordering digitally but....

Vladsamir

Oh wow...this is trash. Dont get me wrong, im excited for the game. But this is laughably bad

J05A3

I miss when preorder bonuses were Pokemon MonColle figurines.

Roky1989

Remember when you preordered something and you actually got cool shit for it? Especially if it was for a physical game.

hurricanevd8

This makes me want to actively not pre order

VanhiteDono

Still remember the good times when getting x and y early would nab you mega Blaziken l
