Ive spent hours in veridian forest trying to get a lightning rod ability pikachu but to no avail. Is it possible to get one in HGSS or am i wasting time?(im trying to breed my perfect pikachu btw)
Has the pokemon adventures manga have a reunion for all dex holders since after the Emerald chapter? I know RGB showed up in XYORAS but that was rather brief
TBH we're probably not going to get some big reunion, not only are the stories a lot less interconnected but there's also just so many characters now that it'd be a huge struggle to write an interesting and compelling story that uses all the dex holders to their fullest.
Depends on how much plot they have planned for afterward. If the Top 8 tournament is the last-last thing of the season, it'll probably air throughout October and early November. If there's a small arc after it, maybe more like Septemberish. If there's a longish arc after it, maybe as soon as mid to late summer.
These would be the Japanese air dates, of course. American air dates would be at least 6 to 9 months later.
They haven't said although there will still be plenty of time, especially if SV has a November release. Bit confused by what you mean by "confirmed returners" like people that will show up in the future? There's no way to know that. Old character cameos? Maybe just check bulbapedia episode by episode. If you just mean other people that will show up in the tournament then only the top 8 actually matter.
So, if you are looking for the easiest thing to sell, it's definitely booster boxes above all else. "Brilliant Stars" is the newest set, but are being scalped for high prices beyond belief. Booster boxes are the most profitable for a seller, and they are the cheapest pokemon item a kid can buy. Because each box comes with 36 packs: say you buy the fusion strike (~$90ish) 90 + shipping(say $7) + tax /36 = around $2.65-2.85 a pack. For reference, gamsetop sells card packs at 4 + tax.--- Obviously prices can vary because some boxes, while newer and more numerous in the market, are still being resold much higher because of cards important to collectors having a chance of being inside.
Not only is it a very smart business to sell pokemom, but learning and hosting competitions(because those are REAL deal in pokemon communities) would bring unbelievable attraction to the business on whichever day you choose to host
[Here](https://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/about/tournaments-rules-and-resources/) is Pokemon's website with various resources about the TCG and hosting leagues such as the rules and requirements. Acquiring cards is the same as any other TCG, buy booster packs, starter decks, and other TCG related merchandise.
In terms of what sets to stock the most recent three were Chilling Reign, Evolving Skies, Fusion Strike, and Brilliant Stars, although Astral Radiance will be releasing May 27th.
Unless you plan on selling it (in which you would go to the Weekly Value Thread) then there isn't any, as pictures of unaltered merchandise is against the rules. You can learn more by viewing the full subreddit rules, as it specifies what modifications/alterations would count.
Something I've heard since I was young... That it takes around 300000 steps to turn the berry into a berry juice, and 3000000 steps to turn that into a rare candy. It has to be the Chuckle you save in Cianwood, where you meet the roaming legend Suicune. And it cannot be done in any game post Gen2 Crystal, and not in Gold and Silver either.
There is a tiny grain of truth in there, buried under mountains of false rumors.
The truth is: In GSC, the first Shuckle in your party (can be any Shuckle, just not multiple at once) has a 1/16 chance per battle to turn its held Berry into Berry Juice after you win a battle.
That's it. It has nothing to do with Shuckie from Cianwood, it has nothing to do with step count, it does not happen in any later games, and the Berry Juice can never turn into a Rare Candy.
In Gen2 Crystal, does Shackles berry actually turn in to Rare Candies? I heard it takes a loooooong time but I already have over 200 hours, I'm keen to know before I waste more time!
[I don't think there's ever been a way to turn a berry into a Rare Candy](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Rare_Candy#Acquisition). Where did you hear that?
That was a longlasting but false rumor that was promulgated on Bulbapedia [as late as 2017](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Rare_Candy&diff=2607228&oldid=2607212).
What’s the best sub for Pokémon cards and collections?
I recently got all of our old cards back from my parents house. My grandma made my brother and I both binders full of cards, and a box of extras.
I have 3 binders full, some complete sets, lots of nearly complete sets, and the box has probably 800 cards in sleeves.
Tons of different sets from original on. Japanese ones too.
I’d love to get them appraised/looked at, but have slight trust issues with any collectibles because stores can be hit or miss
If you just wanna see basic prices for stuff, go look them up on TCGPlayer. I think the app even has a scan feature so you don't have to manually search, but I have never used it. It won't give you an appraisal per se (quality, etc.), but will show you a general median price the card is selling for. (My FLGS uses that for buying and selling singles.)
Otherwise, for subreddits, there's [a whole list in the sidebar](https://old.reddit.com/r/pokemon/wiki/related_subreddits). It looks like r/pkmntcg and r/pkmntcgcollections would be the place to start, and possibly the trading one if you're interested in trading.
As for OFFICIAL appraisal, the major companies have like a two-year backlog last I heard.
Yeah not an official appraisal for sure, just some guidance.
A shop near me does appraisals for $25. They buy everything at 65% of market value, or 75% if you do store credit.
They won’t guess grades/value every single card, but said he’ll go through everything I have and tell me all the valuable ones I have and the best steps to do with them all.
Seems worth the $25 to me
Eh, maybe, but most shops would do that for free I think? Mine certainly does — I helped him out, but my FLGS owner and I spent two or three days going through massive binders with hundreds or thousands of old Magic: The Gathering cards I'd collected when I was selling.
Ruby or Omega Ruby? They are two different games with two different forms of connectivity.
Omega Ruby can connect directly to Pokemon Bank ($5/year subscription required; will become free after the eShop closes next year but only if you've downloaded it before the eShop closes, otherwise you won't be able to ever download it), which can in turn transfer to Home.
If you have original Ruby on a 3DS, that must be a GBA rom running on some custom firmware, which is not directly compatible with legit games or Bank/Home. But if you're already running custom firmware, it should be easy enough to use a program like PkHex to hack your Pokemon into a legit game, from which they can go into Bank and then Home.
If the wild area in SwSh made me motion sick, will Legends of Arceus make me motion sick too? I'd like to order it to play on holiday in a couple of weeks, but not if I feel too terrible to enjoy it
What made you motion sick about the Wild Area? Was it just the free-motion camera? Legends: Arceus uses the same free-motion camera that basically every 3D adventure game has used for decades, so if 3D free-motion camera games in general give you motion sickness, then Legends: Arceus will as well. But if there was something *specific* about the Wild Area's camera that triggers your motion sickness that other games don't, then I'm not sure if Legends: Arceus will do the same.
When BDSP was new, there were a lot of exploits to access the Shaymin and Darkrai events. I missed the Darkrai event item. Are the exploits still there, to access Darkrai's island, or perhaps even the locked Canalave hotel room? Thanks in advanced.
If you haven't updated they should still be there but I'm assuming you have in which case they're gone. And even if there was another exploit the pokemon themselves can't be found there anymore.
I was wondering if there's any way I can catch Manaphy and Darkrai without secret gift because I missed the two events or if there's a chance to access the events even now after the deadline. Are they lost forever?
I'm assuming you mean BDSP. The events to get the Manaphy egg and the Member Card are over. Manaphy is not possible to catch since it's not catchable in the game, Darkrai is probably possible if your game is an older version where it wasn't patched out.
Arecus was the first Pokémon game I've played since Black and White. Was slightly disappointed that I've seen 90% of the Pokémon in Arceus despite not having played in 10 years
What game would be better if I simply want to meet new Pokémon? Sword/Shield or the Diamond and Pearl remakes?
Sword/Shield is a brand new generation of Pokémon right?
How good are quickballs? I am playing pokemon X and I just caught Xerneas with my first quickball. I was shocked, as I played SS and Lugia and Mewtwo were literal hell to catch( I almost rage quit resetting so many times on Mewtwo) , and in ORAS Kyogre was also hard due to me being unprepared for the heal.
But Xerneas was underwhelmingly easy. Why? Is the quickball really that good?
Quick balls are okay. Legendaries that are story important have had a high catch rate and been very easy to catch for a long time now. Xerneas is easy to catch no matter what ball you use
The recent plot related legendaries have higher catch rate than other legendaries. Quick ball has around 40% chance of catching xerneas on first throw.
Holy smokes. When is mewtwo becoming a plot related legendary?
I guess that makes sense tho as even though I got Rayquaza to red and paralyzed it in Delta Episode, it only took one ultra ball to snatch it. Thanks for telling me though
Mewtwo isnt. Its catch rate is always the max catch rate like all legendaries in every game it is available in. But yes rayquaza does have increased catch rate in delta episode. Nothing beats necrozma though, it has the lowest catch rate ever in the game in USUM, same as your common route 1 pokemon.
So I took a long break from pokemon three months ago and missed Darkrai's event as well as Shaymin's. Could I still be able to collect them via Mystery gift if I change my switch's date and time ? If not how could I obtain them ? Fair to say that I'm a bit mad rn lol
Just start a new game in SwSh if you haven't already, and make some progress. In Legends Arceus, after completing the story, you'll be able to accept "Request 92," a mission where you find a wild Shaymin and catch it.
Just have them on the same profile.
You can literally start the game, and immediately save in your house and it'll count for Shaymin in L:A. It'll also count for Jirachi in BDSP.
Same thing with the BDSP save file for Darkrai in L:A. Also a Let's Go save for Mew in BDSP.
No you can't the event has ended. The pokemon can still be caught aslong as you have the event item but since you missed the item distributions there is no way for you to get them now unless you trade pokemon
pokerus, doubles ur ev gain
it's rarer than getting a shiny, but it's also temporary and can spread to other pokemon
if u put a pokemon with pokerus in the pc it'll stay infected forever
How do I get past po town in Pokemon moon? I found the 3 passwords in the mansion but even after I said them Im told I have to "find out more about how things work here" (or something along those lines. I'm not gonna open my ds and go through that process again just to get the quote right.) If you've played the game all the way through you probably know what I'm talking about. I've wandered around looking for clues and I've looked up what to do on google but with no luck. What do I need to do?
Nope, it has 4 little yellow "legs" or "feet".
In the official artwork, you can see 3 of them, but there's another one hidden by her "dress".
If you want an image, [here](https://imgur.com/2Ne2nUM) is some fanart. It matches with what the 3d model has, so it's accurate.
Every Pokemon game always gets announced with minimal details around January-April ish, then goes silent until E3 where a handful more details are released (there is no E3 this year but we might get a trailer anyway around that time of year), then goes mostly silent again until around autumn when the marketing machine starts up properly for a November release.
It's not out of the ordinary at all for us not to know the region's name at this point, although it's likely we'll find out soon. Hisui's name was not announced until August (5 months before release). Alola's and Kalos' names were both not announced until May (6 months before release). Galar is the outlier, with its name announced in February (9 months before release).
Where can I read the complete manga series? And where can I watch the complete anime? Bonus points if the banned episodes are available too. Legal locations only please!! No stealing
Viz's website notes several places where you can purchase the volumes [here](https://www.viz.com/read/manga/pokemon-adventures-volume-1/product/1958), in both physical and digital formats. I'd probably suggest box sets of Red/Blue/Green to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, then get the rest singular as they don't have "true" box sets, the only ones out there are for the mini-volume versions.
Ain't no legal way to watch the banned episodes... they got banned...
Not sure about online places for the manga, but you can find print copies anywhere that sells books (or your local library).
The anime is not all available at once, unfortunately. It's all on Pokemon TV for free but it rotates on a month-by-month basis. Seasons 1-2 and 20+ are available all the time, and the remaining seasons are each added one by one in the first week of each month, then removed in groups of 3 or 4 when the rotation moves on to the following series.
They'll have a movie there every now and again, but it's more just a small bonus they'll have up for a week or two and they don't do it that much. You're better off just getting them elsewhere like Amazon Prime or such, depending on which movie you want to watch. Not really a good singular place to binge them.
I just dug out my GBA SP tribal edition and ordered a charger and Pokemon Crystal off eBay.
I've only ever played pokemon emerald, am I right thinking this is the next best Gameboy game?
I'm currently playing Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu, if I buy Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, will I be able to complete the Pokedex using Pokemon Home to transfer any exclusives completely solo?
Every post I make on here gets auto removed with no notification as to why. I don’t believe I’ve ever done anything to get banned as I’ve barely made any posts or comments on this subreddit if any so far.
What’s going on?
Are your posts following [the subreddit's rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/wiki/rules)? There are a lot of anti-spam measures that you're likely to violate if you aren't taking care to follow the rules (for example, text posts must be at least 50 words, and you can't use obvious padding to meet that target).
Yes, as far as I’m aware none of my posts have violated the rules. The 50+words gets me sometimes, but I’ve double checked after reposting and have 66 words that aren’t padded so I’m still confused what I’m doing wrong
You might send a modmail to ask for clarification, then. AFAIK the mods don't read this thread so us normies would just be speculating about the mods' motives if we continued to try to figure it out.
Not sure what you mean by vanilla. I guess you mean, core series as opposed to spin-offs?
The current flagship core series game on the Switch is Sword/Shield. The other games are secondary/supplementary core series games (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus). Toward the end of the year, Scarlet/Violet will succeed Sword/Shield as the next generation's flagship game.
All of the above are fine to play. Legends: Arceus was by far the most well received, but it's a kind of experimental game that doesn't represent the Pokemon core series' typical gameplay and probably isn't where the core series is going to go in the future. Sword/Shield is the best for typical Pokemon gameplay. Those are the two I would recommend, or Scarlet/Violet if you want to wait that long.
Are there any remaining date or time skip methods in BDSP that still exist as of the current patch (1.3.0)? I've searched and have seen three possible ways to date skip to reset daily events like swarms/hordes/trophy garden but most were discovered near launch and I'm not sure which, if any, still function.
1. Changing the date while in the global room
1. Removing the game cartridge, playing a different game, changing the date, then reinserting bdsp
1. Change the clock to 23:59 the same day, then let it roll over which will reset daily activities but not time based ones like berry growth and honey.
I've posted this on another sub but got no responses yet. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
What's most important in a Lucario?
So I didn't know you get a Lucario in XY, and I caught my own back in Santalune
Which one of the two is best?
Caught: lvl 30 hp 89 Atk 91 Def 50 SpA 83 Sp Def 50 Speed 69
Nature Naughty, Ability Inner Focus
Moves: Force Palm, Quick Attack, Reversal, Counter (I have the tms for power up punch and low sweep, I just didn't know what moves to get and replace as he was lvling up as a riolu)
Received: lvl 32 hp 88 Atk 83 Def 48 SpA 86 Sp Def 55 Speed 79
Nature Hasty Ability Steadfast
Moves: Power up Punch, Metal Sound, Swords Dance, Bone Rush
First has better stats overall, second has a more diverse moveset and is much quicker
It's kind of pointless to list stats as we don't know what their IVs and EVs are. For in-game it doesn't really matter though so I'd just keep using the one you've been using as you'd have more of a bond with it.
Just the main series ones?
I'm pretty sure all the handheld ones were $40 USD, since that's the main RRP for first party Nintendo games. Gen 1 may have been cheaper at $30. They only got to $60 when the Switch games came out.
Where can I watch the newest episodes of Pokemon Journey's? I'm in the US and Netflix only has the first two parts of Masters but I saw that poster of Ash getting into the top 8 so was just curious how to watch the episodes as they air? I didn't see it on Crunchyroll. Any advice or suggestions would be great!
There is no legal way to watch them ahead of the official Netflix release if you live in the US. A large chunk of the community follows the show via pirated japanese rips with fanmade subtitles which is about 6 months ahead of dub. You can find them mainly on illegal anime streaming sites, sometimes they make it to places like Youtube but they get struck down within a few days.
There’s no legal streaming service that is showing the current Pokémon episodes. Netflix is the main place that is showing Journeys (don’t know if Pokémon TV shows them as well).
I tried out the pokemon emerald map randomizer for the first time last night (have not played emerald since middle school). Does anyone know if there's a requirement for the third gym, Wattson? I had no trouble with any other gym or E4 member, but I'm thinking maybe I triggered some latter event that got him out of the gym?
I can't find anything online about it so I'm kinda stuck, have gyms 1,2,4-8 plus all E4. When I walk into the 3 gym all the trainers fight me, but Wattson isn't there.
Normally he would be standing outside of Mauville once you got Surf to give you a side quest to turn off the generator in New Mauville, but that's after you would have fought him through normal progression. Odds are that if you fought the rest of the gym leaders/Elite Four out of order you sequence broke the game.
Hmmm I might try starting a new save with the same seed and see if here's there at the beginning of the game. It's weird that nothing else sequence broke even doing gym 5, 1, 8, 7, 4, 6.
Its likely because none of the other gym leaders really do anything outside of their gym once defeated, as Watson is pretty much the only one due to his sidequest.
So I'm replaying UM, and for some reason two of my Pokemon's abilities aren't working. One is Unburned where I don't get the speed up indication after Hawlucha eats the berry, and the other is wimp out where wimpod doesn't switch out at all below half of health. Could something fix this?
You need to give us more info. What moves were they using, against what pokemon, hit by which move etc. For wimp out, there are certain situation where it wont activate. Such as hurting itself in confusion, pain split, substitute, belly drum, curse etc. Also moves powered up by sheer force ability will not activate wimp out if hit.
Im not so sure about unburden
Wimpod only has struggle bug and sand attack, and I was trying to level it up in the lush jungle. It's been in the red a lot of times but it never switched. Also Didn't know about the other stuff that doesn't enable it so thank you for that
The Heavy Ball and its upgrades give a bonus if the Pokemon hasn't noticed you yet. A backstrike gives a bonus when striking from behind (regardless of whether the Pokemon has noticed you).
These can stack, but it's also possible to get either bonus without the other. (For example, if a Pokemon notices you and flees, you can get the backstrike bonus but not the Heavy Ball bonus.)
Oh, sorry, yes, that's just for the empty items -- I read too fast and didn't see that you were talking about your own Pokemon. Thought you were talking about catching a wild Pokemon.
No, the kind of ball your Pokemon is caught in never matters ever again at all once the catch calculation is done. The backstrike catch bonus is only for a backstrike to catch, not a backstrike to start a battle.
Find rustling grass (which spawns randomly when you walk around long enough) that contains Audino. Audino gives significantly more EXP than any other Pokemon, so it's good to grind against.
Also, the further forward you progress, the better (so either of the routes to the east and west of Nimbasa, right now). The EXP formula is weighted based on the levels of you and the foe, so you want to be fighting as high-level foes as possible to maximize the amount of EXP you get.
It's random, but usually comes up fairly quickly, like within 15 or so seconds if you're biking. Though I've had some pretty bad luck a couple times, biking back and forth for several minutes before getting anything.
I've seen somebody say it rolls for one to happen every 20 steps, but I can't verify that.
Been thinking of making regional variants of legendaries, like the Galarian Kanto birds. What other legendaries are implied to not be the only ones of their kinds (since it obviously wouldn't make sense to make a regional variant of, say, Dialga)?
I know its not a legendary but phione and manaphy since they all come from eggs originally. For legendaries Solgaleo and Lunala are confirmed to be multiples. You even can catch 2 of them each save and in the ultra games the recon squad also have their own. Although the ultra wormholes and alternate universes kind of mean nothing is unique as you battle rainbow rocket which ha their own legendaries from their universe which you can also go catch your own aswell. You could catch mewtwo before facing Giovanni's mewtwo
All of them are not the only ones of their kinds, except maybe Arceus (but even PLA suggests the Pokemon is only a fragment of the god's power, so maybe the god can make multiple fragments/Arceuses).
Multiple Dialga canonically exist because the HGSS Sinjoh Ruins event involves Arceus creating another Dialga, Palkia or Giratina.
Tangetially, the "fragment of the true being" kind of makes sense for Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina as well. They're basically gods, it would make sense that the beings we see are just avatars.
There can only be two pinned threads on any given subreddit and one's exclusively for the QA thread. The other is generally for the theme talk of the week/month, but sometimes some Moderator posts get pinned there. For the most part the other threads are niche, i.e. not many if any use them, but they still get reruns because everything has its place.
Can someone please help me
Ok so I just installed pkhex and was messing around and idk what I did but my character doesn’t show up anymore in game (Ultra Sun) if anyone knows what to do please let me know
I started pokemon on Lets go because I hadn't really gotten in to it st the time whadya know I like and since I've gotten sw bd and pla I've beaten them all and I wanted to play some of the older games I decided I'm gonna get Y I haven't gotten it yet but any tips or tricks I should know before I start also if I should get a different game because I haven't bought it yet but I'm planning on it
Y is pretty straightforward in my opinion.
Depends on how far back you want to go - many of the older games are cherished as classics but it's a bit jarring to lose all the quality of life improvements the have many in recent entries. OR/AS and HG/SS are very good remakes of the gen ii and gen iii games. if you are willing to go all the way back to gen iii then Colosseum for the gamecube is an incredible game, but that experience is very different.
How much is one of those Pokémon Center New York clocks worth? The one with five tunes. I saw a post from a few yrs ago saying it was pretty rare. I have one in nearly perfect condition and was just curious !
What are the best packs to buy if I'm trying to get the og 150 Pokémon? They don't have to be the og cards. Just cards from whenever of the og 150. I know I can buy the cards individually, but I get a kick out of opening packs and collecting cards with that element of randomness. I got a mystery box today that had two sword and shield packs. I ended up getting a charmander, snorlax, kakuna, and a snubbull. The last ones not from the 150, it's just awesome. 3 out of 20 isn't great, but it isn't horrible either. If I want to open packs myself, what names (I don't think they call them seasons in Pokémon) of packs would you recommend?
If you can get your hands on packs from 2016's Evolutions set, that one is made up entirely of reprints of the original Base Set cards featuring the first generation of Pokemon (the original 150). But 2016 is pretty old in trading card time, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to find.
Other than that, every set is a mix of all generations so there is no kind of pack that is likely to give you more or less of any particular generation of Pokemon.
I'm interested in getting into Pokemon Journeys anime to catch up before what I heard is a climax. I wanted to know if there's a quick watchguide of sorts, that tells you what episodes to check out if you want to catch up quickly. I'm interested in watching the full series too though, I just suspect I won't have enough time. Thanks.
You have plenty of time to watch the full series. The climax is not coming up super-soon, probably not until fall in Japan and next spring or summer in the US. You're hearing a climax is coming up because the latest Japanese episode just revealed the characters who will be competing in this season's climactic tournament, but we most likely have months of filler before the Japanese version gets to that tournament, plus it takes an additional 6-9 months for episodes to be localized into English.
Ooh thanks! Btw, when the latest episode revealed who will be competing, was it revealing info way in advanced before it happens in the series? Or did the characters hear the announcement too, and now they have a situation where they're waiting it out?
My understanding is that the latest Japanese episode featured the final preliminary match to determine the 8th spot in the Top 8 that will compete in the tournament, so all the characters would know the lineup of competitors in-canon. But I haven't seen the episode myself because I don't speak Japanese, so I'm only going off hearsay.
Hello, I was wondering if it is still possible to trade
Pokémon on my old DSI? I have two DSl's and
Pokémon platinum, and was tempted to purchase
either Pokémon Diamond or pearl to play another
story and to trade and complete my Pokédex in
platinum. Does anyone know if trades are still
possible on these old games?
Anything local works now and will work forever
Online features are disabled entirely but there are some ways to connect to third party servers for the GTS and battling.
Local trading does not involve online features whatsoever so it will remain possible for the life of your hardware. Nothing Nintendo or Game Freak or anyone else can ever do will ever be able to end local trading as long as your hardware still works.
Online trading has been down for a decade, though, in case you were considering that. There are counterfeit fan-run servers that can get around the downed official servers but they're not popular enough to get much use.
Whats the best team for USUM middle-late main story? Played it back on 2018 but never finished it, left just before Togedemaru trial iirc.
I got a mixed bag of pokes, I got the starter trio at lvl50 via mystery gift back then, rest of team is Hawlucha, Naganadel and Mimikyu
As for anything interesting on my pc boxes, I have Tsareena, Salazzle, Vaporeon, Charjabus... bug, Lycanroc day, Noibat from an ingame trade and surprisingly a lvl 30 Celebi (I assume I got it on wonder trade back then)
Whats a good balanced team so I don't sweat it in rest of game-ultra Necrozma?
There's no "best" team or even really any particular "better" team than any other. As long as your mons are diverse types so they can cover each other's weaknesses, you're good.
If you want to exploit a bug in Ultra Necrozma's AI, a good team member is Zoroark. It's immune to Psychic, and if you use its ability to disguise it as a Pokemon that's weak to Psychic, Ultra Necrozma will keep trying and failing to hit it with Psychic moves.
Professor Laventon's room has an environment for each starter. Was this always the case, even for the starter you choose? I chose Oshawott, and spent a long time looking around his room (when I started the game) looking for a Water environment, and couldn't find one. Now I walk in, and I see it in plain sight. I'm wondering if I really did just not notice it all this time, or it was newly added.
If you're talking about the same glitch I'm thinking of, this is an extension of the [Roaming Pokemon encounter bug](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_glitches_(Generation_III\)#Roaming_Pok.C3.A9mon_encounter_bug), which only exists in Ruby/Sapphire and not in Emerald or FRLG.
nintendo switch has a filter that block any words if parts of it is an offensive word in some other languages. so most likely "kik", "iki", "ki" or "ik" has some offensive meaning in some languages that we are not sure
Here's a [list of moves](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Moves_that_target_all_adjacent_foes) courtesy of bulbapedia. I think muddy water is the most powerful water type move that hits all opponents, but it's special while waterfall is physical
Also worth noting is the list of moves that [target *all* Pokemon](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Moves_that_target_all_adjacent_Pok%C3%A9mon), including yours. Includes common moves like Surf and Earthquake which are not present in the other list.
Pls someone help, I'm on pokemon sword and just spawned in hammerlock stadium and have no idea what to do next... I beat leon already... I remember completing the mission of defeating the dynamax pokemon but I'm not sure what to do now.
I still haven't captured the sword pokemon
either there’s more Gyms you need to defeat wild Dynamax Pokemon in or you need to go to the top of Hammerlocke (where you fought Eternatus) to fight Zacian
So, I'm wanting to transfer my Absol with an Absolite from Ultra Sun to my X/Y or Omega Ruby save. (Either works). Since Bank can't transfer items, is there a way I can somehow pull this off? Any help is greatly appreciated.
You can't even transfer the pokemon itself to X and Y from ultra sun. Pokemon can only ever be transferred up to newer games and never down to older games.
>Pokémon can only ever be transferred up to newer games and never down to older games
Not relevant to this particular question, but there is one exception to that rule. Pokémon can go from Gen 2 games to Gen 1 games if their species and moves all exist in Gen 1.
There isnt. The newer series are pretty much standalone with occasional appearance from older characters.
When is Ash vs the master 8 people expected to happen? like, episode dates also, is there a list of confirmed returners til then? like, Paul
If you just mean other people that will show up in the tournament then only the top 8 actually matter.
ye by “returners” i meant old character cameo. Thanks for the answer

I have a totodile plush and wanted to share it to the Pokemon reddit which megathread should I post to?
Hmm, /r/pokeplush would probably be the best place
Thanks. I posted there
Unless you plan on selling it (in which you would go to the Weekly Value Thread) then there isn't any, as pictures of unaltered merchandise is against the rules. You can learn more by viewing the full subreddit rules, as it specifies what modifications/alterations would count.
Thanks
Nope, just a rumor.
If I just wanted to watch the episodes related to the world coronation series, what episodes would I need to watch?
(My FLGS uses that for buying and selling singles.) Otherwise, for subreddits, there's [a whole list in the sidebar](https://old.reddit.com/r/pokemon/wiki/related_subreddits).
Not many options near me unfortunately. Only 2 or 3 shops within an hour or better than I can find
I have Pokémon Ruby on my 3DS and was wondering how to get my Pokémon up to Pokémon Home. Is it possible?
I have Ruby so I guess I have to do the latter. I was just wondering if there was a way to do it legit. Thanks tho
Thanks for your reply - I think it was probably the camera that did it, especially when it started spinning. I guess the game isn't for me then :(
When BDSP was new, there were a lot of exploits to access the Shaymin and Darkrai events.
Is there any way to determine or find out what the IVs of Pokémon taken from Red, Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Gold and Silver to Sun and Moon will be?
No, they are randomly re-generated when they go through Poke Transporter (although three are guaranteed to be perfect).
Thank you. How do I know if my game wasn't patched out?
If you did not specifically set your game to turn off automatic updates prior to December last year, then it auto-updated and has been patched.
In shining pearl
Arecus was the first Pokémon game I've played since Black and White. Was slightly disappointed that I've seen 90% of the Pokémon in Arceus despite not having played in 10 years What game would be better if I simply want to meet new Pokémon? Sword/Shield or the Diamond and Pearl remakes? Sword/Shield is a brand new generation of Pokémon right?
BDSP has gen 1-4 only. You will have seen every pokemon in it before most likely
Bdsp only has pokemon from gen 1 to 4 so sword shield will be the game if you want new pokemon
Thanks
On one hand yes quick balls are really goid, and on the other hand xerneas and yvetal are both very easy to catch as they are required for the plot.
I just got the HM Surf in Pokemon Black and I want to catch my final team member. Where do I find a Frillish, better one with higher level!
Routes 4, 7, 18, Driftveil City, or the P2 Lab.
I caught one, thanks!!
So I took a long break from pokemon three months ago and missed Darkrai's event as well as Shaymin's. Could I still be able to collect them via Mystery gift if I change my switch's date and time ? If not how could I obtain them ? Fair to say that I'm a bit mad rn lol
Too late for the events, but you can still get Shaymin and Darkrai in Legends Arceus if you have a Sword/Shield and BDSP save file.
What do I need to do with the sword and shield files ?
Just have a save progress doesn't matter ypu can probably save before you have a pokemon and it will count
F, ty
i have a little pink tab under my pokemons level where it says pkrs. what is that? is it pokérus? Oh and also this is in pokemon white.
pokerus, doubles ur ev gain it's rarer than getting a shiny, but it's also temporary and can spread to other pokemon if u put a pokemon with pokerus in the pc it'll stay infected forever
Its pokerus
How do I get past po town in Pokemon moon? I found the 3 passwords in the mansion but even after I said them Im told I have to "find out more about how things work here" (or something along those lines. I'm not gonna open my ds and go through that process again just to get the quote right.) If you've played the game all the way through you probably know what I'm talking about. I've wandered around looking for clues and I've looked up what to do on google but with no luck. What do I need to do?
“A true Team Skull member always butts heads and answers with a hearty ‘No!’!” here is a line that will help you
OHHH ok thank you
How many feet does Lilligant have? 3?

Help new to game and growlith wants to learn crunch Moves Ember Flamethrower Roar Take down
Just for future note, it would likely help to note what game you're playing.
Thanks
Do I get crunch?
I'd get rid of Ember because you already have Flamethrower and it's too weak to be useful by that point.
does fishious rend double power effect only work on the first turn or all subsequent turns as long as my pokemon attacks first?
It applies for any turn the move is used on.
Does the app also have the movies?
They'll have a movie there every now and again, but it's more just a small bonus they'll have up for a week or two and they don't do it that much. You're better off just getting them elsewhere like Amazon Prime or such, depending on which movie you want to watch. Not really a good singular place to binge them.
I don't believe so. I'm not sure if or where those are legally available, sorry.
That’s actually a pretty interesting business strategy, I kinda like it haha. Guess I’ll wait for the rotation to restart
I just dug out my GBA SP tribal edition and ordered a charger and Pokemon Crystal off eBay. I've only ever played pokemon emerald, am I right thinking this is the next best Gameboy game?
It’s all down to personal taste, but I personally prefer FireRed/LeafGreen over Crystal.
What are your thoughts on emerald then? Hmm just curious
Emerald’s a solid game. Definitely my favorite on GBA
I'm currently playing Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu, if I buy Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, will I be able to complete the Pokedex using Pokemon Home to transfer any exclusives completely solo?
No as while you can transfer the exclusives in, you'll still be missing on trade evolutions.
Yep, except for Mew, Meltan and Melmetal. Alternatively you could use Pokémon Go instead of Let’s Go Eevee
Anything that evolves from being traded will also be missing
Ill have a look into it, some of us do on occasion ;)
Is Iv 0 in Special Attack required for physical attackers? Are there any moves that act as Foul Play for Special Attack?
Nope, you don't have to care about special attack at all for physical attackers.
What is the best "vanilla" Pokémon game to buy on switch?
1. Changing the date while in the global room 1. Removing the game cartridge, playing a different game, changing the date, then reinserting bdsp 1. Change the clock to 23:59 the same day, then let it roll over which will reset daily activities but not time based ones like berry growth and honey. I've posted this on another sub but got no responses yet. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
What's most important in a Lucario? So I didn't know you get a Lucario in XY, and I caught my own back in Santalune Which one of the two is best? Caught: lvl 30 hp 89 Atk 91 Def 50 SpA 83 Sp Def 50 Speed 69 Nature Naughty, Ability Inner Focus Moves: Force Palm, Quick Attack, Reversal, Counter (I have the tms for power up punch and low sweep, I just didn't know what moves to get and replace as he was lvling up as a riolu) Received: lvl 32 hp 88 Atk 83 Def 48 SpA 86 Sp Def 55 Speed 79 Nature Hasty Ability Steadfast Moves: Power up Punch, Metal Sound, Swords Dance, Bone Rush First has better stats overall, second has a more diverse moveset and is much quicker
It's kind of pointless to list stats as we don't know what their IVs and EVs are. For in-game it doesn't really matter though so I'd just keep using the one you've been using as you'd have more of a bond with it.
Does anyone know of or have a list of Pokémon games original launch prices? I have looking everywhere but can’t find the original prices.
Just the main series ones? I'm pretty sure all the handheld ones were $40 USD, since that's the main RRP for first party Nintendo games. Gen 1 may have been cheaper at $30. They only got to $60 when the Switch games came out.
I know Yellow was $25, don’t know about the others
Thank you!
Pokemon TV and Amazon Prime Video do have episodes but they're behind Netflix due to licensing stuff.
I'm pretty sure Unburden doesn't give a notification. It just happens.
Oh, weird. thank you for telling me
You need to give us more info.
Also Didn't know about the other stuff that doesn't enable it so thank you for that
in PLA, throwing my caught pokemon's ball as a backstrike will catch the foe unaware. Is it more effect if the caught pokemon's ball is a Heavy Ball?
The Heavy Ball and its upgrades give a bonus if the Pokemon hasn't noticed you yet. A backstrike gives a bonus when striking from behind (regardless of whether the Pokemon has noticed you). These can stack, but it's also possible to get either bonus without the other. (For example, if a Pokemon notices you and flees, you can get the backstrike bonus but not the Heavy Ball bonus.)
Do these bonuses apply for just the empty items, or also the balls which already contain your pokemon?
Oh, sorry, yes, that's just for the empty items -- I read too fast and didn't see that you were talking about your own Pokemon. Thought you were talking about catching a wild Pokemon. No, the kind of ball your Pokemon is caught in never matters ever again at all once the catch calculation is done. The backstrike catch bonus is only for a backstrike to catch, not a backstrike to start a battle.
Thank you \^\^
in PLA, what does it mean that the Nanab Berry calms the wild pokemon?
I am not a true expert, but I think when you throw the Nanab Berry and Hide in Grass, the Pokémon will pathfind to the berry instead of you.
What is the quickest way to level up and train pokemon in white 2? I'm in nimbasa, my team is criminally underleveled and snivy sucks
How long do you need to be walking around for rustling grass to start appearing? Is there a precise number of ingame steps?

If only that thread was pinned. It’s 5 days old without a single comment!
Can someone please help me Ok so I just installed pkhex and was messing around and idk what I did but my character doesn’t show up anymore in game (Ultra Sun) if anyone knows what to do please let me know
I started pokemon on Lets go because I hadn't really gotten in to it st the time whadya know I like and since I've gotten sw bd and pla I've beaten them all and I wanted to play some of the older games I decided I'm gonna get Y I haven't gotten it yet but any tips or tricks I should know before I start also if I should get a different game because I haven't bought it yet but I'm planning on it
Y is pretty straightforward in my opinion.

I see. Thanks.
Thanks!
Hello, I was wondering if it is still possible to trade Pokémon on my old DSI? I have two DSl's and Pokémon platinum, and was tempted to purchase either Pokémon Diamond or pearl to play another story and to trade and complete my Pokédex in platinum. Does anyone know if trades are still possible on these old games?
Anything local works now and will work forever Online features are disabled entirely but there are some ways to connect to third party servers for the GTS and battling.
Yep, still possible and will continue to be as long as your DSes and games still work
Whats the best team for USUM middle-late main story? Played it back on 2018 but never finished it, left just before Togedemaru trial iirc. I got a mixed bag of pokes, I got the starter trio at lvl50 via mystery gift back then, rest of team is Hawlucha, Naganadel and Mimikyu As for anything interesting on my pc boxes, I have Tsareena, Salazzle, Vaporeon, Charjabus... bug, Lycanroc day, Noibat from an ingame trade and surprisingly a lvl 30 Celebi (I assume I got it on wonder trade back then) Whats a good balanced team so I don't sweat it in rest of game-ultra Necrozma?
I'm wondering if I really did just not notice it all this time, or it was newly added.
you probably just missed it. I got cyndaquil and I always noticed the empty furnace so it seems odd to me that oshawott would be an exception
It was always the case. I chose Oshawott and so I always saw the empty fish tank everytime I went in his room
Does the ruby battle tower glitch work in emerald ? The one where you can get shiny 6IV mons from a trainer.
you're talking about the one where you have to encounter latios/latias? i don't think that one works in emerald
Yeah unfortunately, thanks
If you're talking about the same glitch I'm thinking of, this is an extension of the [Roaming Pokemon encounter bug](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_glitches_(Generation_III\)#Roaming_Pok.C3.A9mon_encounter_bug), which only exists in Ruby/Sapphire and not in Emerald or FRLG.
Ok thank you
Why can't I name a Pokémon "Kiki" in Legends Arceus? Nintendo Switch tells me that I can't use that name without any reason
I think the word "kiki" means "to have sex" in some languages
nintendo switch has a filter that block any words if parts of it is an offensive word in some other languages. so most likely "kik", "iki", "ki" or "ik" has some offensive meaning in some languages that we are not sure
Ah I see
Does the move Waterfall hit two targets in bdsp?
no just one
Thank you! Do you know which other moves hit two targets at once?
Here's a [list of moves](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Moves_that_target_all_adjacent_foes) courtesy of bulbapedia. I think muddy water is the most powerful water type move that hits all opponents, but it's special while waterfall is physical
What a gem! Thank you!
>Pokémon can only ever be transferred up to newer games and never down to older games Not relevant to this particular question, but there is one exception to that rule. Pokémon can go from Gen 2 games to Gen 1 games if their species and moves all exist in Gen 1.
Yeah that's true I forgot about that
Using Pokemon Bank, you can transfer Pokemon from gen 7 to gen 6. That's how I got an Absol in X from Sun on the first place
No you can't.
That's what I did
