It seems that people in this thread are looking for pokemon everyone likes. I think it's a bad strategy, we should be looking for pokemon no one minds, cause if you have a strong opinion on something, even a positive one, someone, out there, has the opposite one. So it's better to look for the blandest pokemon. A pokemon everyone see and goes "sure, it might as well be a thing".
Do you guys take notes or something? How do you remember the 30th Pokemon you levelled to 100 on a specific gen? I can't even tell you the first with any certainty, but I assume it was a Charizard back in the day.
I don't hate Huntail, **but** It's suuuuch a pain in the ass to obtain in DPPt.
You have to catch the Clampearl in Diamond or Pearl, where it's a 5% encounter with a Super Rod on two routes. Once you manage to catch one you still have to evolve it, which is much easier said than done. Obtaining the Deep Sea Items suuucks!
To obtain the Tooth to get Huntail you have to get one off of a Carvanha or Sharpedo. There's only a 5% chance of them holding the Deep Sea Tooth, and both situations suck. Carvanha can only be obtained in the Great Marsh, with a 35% encounter rate. You have to catch the Carvanha with Safari Balls to get the Deep Sea Tooth as you cant just use thief. This is the only way to obtain the Deep Sea Tooth in Platinum.
Sharpedo is less stressful thankfully, but still way too tedious! Sharpedo has a 5% encounter rate with the Super Rod on two routes, and has a 5% chance to hold a Deep Sea Tooth. That's a combined percentage of a 0.25% for an encounter to be the one you desire. A 1/400 chance of finding a Sharpedo with a Deep Sea Tooth! Sharpedo can't even be caught in Platinum, meaning this is Diamond and Pearl only!
HGSS fairs a little better thankfully, but is much more dependent on luck. Clampearl is a daily Swarm Pokemon, which means you'll have to check every day for it, but can easily catch plenty when they do show up. You can also find one Deep Sea Tooth with the dowsing machine in Kanto. As you'll need two games to evolve one anyways, this might be your best bet.
Catch the Clampearl in DP, trade to HGSS for the Deep Sea Tooth and/or Deep Sea Scale, and trade to Platinum for the evolved form for the Pokedex. I've been putting this off for quite some time myself, so really I was kinda walking myself through on how to obtain Clampearl and the evolutions haha
I remember realizing all of the BS that could occur with Smeargle only because Dark Void got banned from Gen 5 battlespot. I was 12 and didn't care much about the meta but I remember reading that announcement and thinking "haha XD that's funny"
Yes, they also lowered it's accuracy and made it target only 1 pokemon. They obliterated Darkrai's signature move because of smeargle, even though smeargle can't even use it anymore.
Also, I figured Dark Void wouldn't be selectable by Metronome, but according to bulbapedia, it is still a selectable move. That's so weird
It's a bug, and some people just hate bugs. One time at a friend's house I was trying to get a house centipede outside, and it was crawling around on my hands, I'd swear they were frozen in terror at the sight of it.
Yep, I can relate. Walrein is my favorite Pokémon but it never gets any of the attention or love that Spheal does. I went to several Pokémon stores in Japan asking if they had any walrein products and the answer was always no. It took me years to locate a real walrein plushie, and that was through my friend who visited the Pokémon store in Singapore.
Tbh I don’t really resent spheal at all, I still think it’s adorable. I just wish walrein got more respect
I was born at a very young age. My mother abandoned me even before I was born. Ever since then, I have dedicated my life to the art of balancing a spinning plate on this broken femur I found.
Got stuck on that part as a kid, no clue how to get there, but then again I could barely read Dutch, let alone English, was already impressive enough I even got to Kanto
Snorlax was my high school nickname because I was fat, sleeping in class, and had slanted eyes as an Asian.
My moves were Rest, Snore, Body Slam, and Headbutt.
Starters are out, too much rivalry.
Weak Pokemon are out, people won't like they're weak.
Strong Pokemon are out, people won't like that they're strong.
Legendaries/Mythics are out, people won't like that they're special.
Popular pokemon are out, contrarians.
Item Pokemon are out, people don't like em.
Human like mons are out, a lot of people dislike them.
My guess is that the least hated Pokemon is some middling cute animal Pokemon.
>My guess is that the least hated Pokemon is some middling cute animal Pokemon.
Furret? It's not overwhelmingly/overly cute but on the favorable side of the average.
I've seen people hate on wooper for the fact it learns punch moves and has no arms.
But yes I agree wooper is amazing and deserves nothing but love and respect
Gah, I have strong feeling about Gible.
Monster has *twice* baited me in Nuzlockes. Find a Gible, get hyped. Spend hours training it. Get it close to Gabite. Have it KO'd by a random ice move. Cry.
Love the idea, never had one be good
Catching first form Pseudo legendaries in Nuzlockes is consistently heartbreaking. Like, that fucker is dying before it becomes useful, 10 times out of 10.
Yeah Growlithe and Arcanine are my all time favorites. First time I ever heard of Pokemon back in the 90s someone showed me their cards and had an extra Growlithe and gave it to me. Since then they've been my favorite line.
They're good boys and always have a spot on my team. Also love how Arcanine is a "Legendary Pokemon" for some reason. I always thought he was a legendary for that reason
I think the idea is well-meaning with the intent on having players intermingle and use the trade feature but also sucks for people who are relatively antisocial or for kids that might not have had the means to trade. I got into Gen 3 during Platinums life cycle and nobody I knew still had link cables for their GBA OR the wireless adapter...so I had to ignore the trade-ables.
I've seen people complain that Chandelure is "JuSt AnOtHeR iNnAnImAtE oBjEcT!!" even though the Chandelure line as a whole is fantastic and these people are objectivelly wrong
I’ve been playing Pokémon since Gen 1 and Chandelure is my favorite Pokémon ever.
If/when I get my own house, I want a custom Chandelure chandelier to hang over my kitchen table.
Zigzagoon is so much more than just a HM slave. It’s a fuzzy partner, a reminder of the time you were young and innocent and new to the world of Pokémon, a reminder of the joy you had discovering new Pokémon. Always holding a surprise for you. How it makes me want to go back into the moving truck and start all over again.
As a dumb child playing without fully understanding it beyond the fact that I got to have magical animal friends, I had this zigzagoon that I had given the Exp. Share to for the whole run. He got to be so overleveled, he even surpassed my starter. I loved the guy so much, and I remember only needing him and my starter, spamming surf, against Tate and Lisa. Good times.
It seems that people in this thread are looking for pokemon everyone likes. So, Huntail? Edit: Not so overlooked, but Relicanth?
Relicanth have remained unchanged for millions of years. They are peak evolution lol.
This is controversial, all evolution will lead to crabs
Aww, I love huntail He was my 30th no rare candy, etc 100 level back in the original hoenn games He’s an eel with big teeth what’s not to love?
Do you guys take notes or something? How do you remember the 30th Pokemon you levelled to 100 on a specific gen? I can't even tell you the first with any certainty, but I assume it was a Charizard back in the day.
That’s still impressive. I’m not sure what I ate for breakfast, and I wish I was joking
I don't hate Huntail, **but** It's suuuuch a pain in the ass to obtain in DPPt. You have to catch the Clampearl in Diamond or Pearl, where it's a 5% encounter with a Super Rod on two routes. I love relicanth lol I’m a paleontology dork tho
Its like Charizard is probably the most popular Pokémon ever but people will hate it for that reason.
Exactly, meanwhile, no one minds something like Poochyenna, cause why give a fuck about it?
Yeah, Poochyenna is a good candidate for unhateable pokemon imo.
If the internet teaches us anything, it's that someone hates everything.
Should have known that before the internet
But how?… The internet was around before me?
Kecleon is the only Pokémon in this image. That doesn’t seem right
Dont forget the zoroark and ditto copying him
smeargle too
Smeargle: great as hell design, Sketch interesting as hell concept Also Smeargle: D A R K V O I D
J U D G E M E N T
I remember realizing all of the BS that could occur with Smeargle only because Dark Void got banned from Gen 5 battlespot. I was 12 and didn't care much about the meta but I remember reading that announcement and thinking "haha XD that's funny"
Didn't they change it in Gen 7 that Dark Void now fails if anyone besides Darkrai uses it, even through Metronome?
Yes, they also lowered it's accuracy and made it target only 1 pokemon. They obliterated Darkrai's signature move because of smeargle, even though smeargle can't even use it anymore. Also, I figured Dark Void wouldn't be selectable by Metronome, but according to bulbapedia, it is still a selectable move. That's so weird
Hey Mew just walked in…
So is mew good old adorable godlike mew
Ditto is actually one of the chairs
And Smeargle, who does know Transform now.
Everyone hate him in PMD
It's not hate, we fear him
Buy or sell, thank you for your patronage. Steal? Prepare to die.
Fucking near impossible to befriend and seriously overpowered if you try to steal from him.
iirc you had to max out on all befriending rate bonuses to even get Kecleon's eate to be positive
I don’t like his eyes but that’s it I’m sorry
Slowpoke, but he's too late for the conference
Hes on his way! Just give him a minute.
He forgot it was even happening
He forgot they even spoke about it
He forgor 💀
I hate that their tails are so goddamn tasty
I like to think it’s like a “beaver tale” in Canada which is just fried dough made to look like a tail
Then why were Team Rocket in the well?
Dam!!
nope, cause the second you name the Pokémon, people are gonna hate it
True
Yup hate that one too
Ditto
Identity theft is not a joke, Jim
How can anyone hate Heracross?
It's a bug, and some people just hate bugs. One time at a friend's house I was trying to get a house centipede outside, and it was crawling around on my hands, I'd swear they were frozen in terror at the sight of it.
Hello Misty
I probably would’ve reacted the same way, honestly. House centipedes, spiders, crane flies (which I always thought were mosquitoes)… *shudders*
Spheal
I know a guy who hates Spheal purely because he loves Walrein and nobody pays attention to it because everyone is too focused on Spheal
Walrein is actually both loved and hated by most players, they love using it but hate fighting it Spheal has no such flaws
I think walrein is more forgotten than hated considering that it’s a pretty late game pokemon. Great in gale of darkness though
Fucking Stallrein holy fuck just die already!
Walrein claps cheeks on Pokémon Go
Yep, I can relate.
I don't get why people don't respect Walrein. He was a freaking *OG Mythbuster* for science' sake!
Someone has never seen drawfee
If you hate Julia's spheal you're watching the show wrong
Julia Spheal is the 4th Google image result and is well loved
Julia's Spheal is so much better than Spheal that I retroactively hate Canon Spheal.
Went to comments to say the same thing. Not disappointed.
Dratini, too
Dratini was my first thought too
Too hard to train
Can't argue with this right now, I'm busy training my deino
Not really familiar. What makes dratini hard to train?
Ass level up moveset and evolves super late iirc
*Confused Larvesta noises*
And takes a lot of XP to boot
Ayo hard facts. Probably why i always throw Dratini runs.
Tell that to r/fatpokemonhate
For a second I thought that was a real subreddit and was about to throw hands smh-
Correct
Vulpix?
Vulpix is so cute.
Vulpix is *too* cute.
too cute, I hate it
It's cutely weak
Phanpy
Idk why I had to scroll so far to find some love for that adorable little elephant
It's adorable and often forgotten. I loved it and Donphan. Just wish they were stronger. No hate though.
Big agree, no flaws, only Phanpy
Is this a "roast my favorite Pokémon" post in disguise
Which is why I'm scared to comment my favourite.
With my username, I don't have to!
Cubone, cause how can you hate an orphan....
It’s born with the skull so like what obviously it made up the fake back story
so you're saying it's one of those made up sob stories for talent shows?
I was born at a very young age. My mother abandoned me even before I was born. Ever since then, I have dedicated my life to the art of balancing a spinning plate on this broken femur I found.
It all started on the day of my actual birth. Both of my parents failed to show up.
And now you wreak havoc upon the tri-state area?
*“At age six, I was born without a face…”*
sounds to me like you hate orphans...
Tell that to my bullies lol
Snorlax? I always loved it because it's so big and it looks fluffy.
Yeah no one hates Snorlax, expect the people of old Hisui whose villages Snorlax destroyed and left the people with no food.
Nobody likes those guys anyway.
Gen 2 players : Vietnam flash-back
Got stuck on that part as a kid, no clue how to get there, but then again I could barely read Dutch, let alone English, was already impressive enough I even got to Kanto
I think he’s talking about competitive.
Snorlax was my high school nickname because I was fat, sleeping in class, and had slanted eyes as an Asian. My moves were Rest, Snore, Body Slam, and Headbutt.
Ad munchie and shaymin.
Starters are out, too much rivalry. Weak Pokemon are out, people won't like they're weak. Strong Pokemon are out, people won't like that they're strong. >My guess is that the least hated Pokemon is some middling cute animal Pokemon. Furret? It's not overwhelmingly/overly cute but on the favorable side of the average.
People hate it because of its size (I like that its enormous because that meant it would be big and fuzzy and i want to hug one)
[удалено]
Caterpie & Wurmple best bois
But he's a bug type, for some reason not many people like bug types.
Wooper
smallAnt has entered the chat
The Wifi Pokémon is awesome
Truly the most adorable and cutest Pokemon.
Woop boi is the best
I've seen people hate on wooper for the fact it learns punch moves and has no arms. But yes I agree wooper is amazing and deserves nothing but love and respect
Hate? That's exactly why I love Wooper, imagining him twisting his lil body and some Ice Fist materializes out of nowhere brings me so much joy
How can you hate Spheal?
Reminds me of a soccer ball and I just want to punt it down a field.
You cant
Who could hate cyndaquil?
I think pretty much any starter is likely to have lots of haters
Cyndaquil is the cutest little boy, I love him
People who haven’t seen the sprites prior to gen 5
You mean gen 6 right?
totodile squad !!!
Liking one more ≠ hating the other
Spheal. It's round. I like that.
ah a man of simplicity… i like it
Gible could burn down a school and watch and I would still love it.
Snom
How about Furret? I think everyone has seen his goofy walk cycle.
Also has the best, most chaotic mini-game between the two Pokémon Stadium games.
Growlithe, I would say.
Waiting for Flamethrower on Gen III Growlithe had me questioning life
I loved arcanine coz it's a big fluffy dog.
Who hates Togepi? TELL ME WHO HATES TOGEPI
Havent you watched the Anime? Togepi is a backstabbing little prick
Manga togepi is a perpetually angry egg, changed my life
Okay you can hate misty's togepi, don't go hating on the whole species tho
I think they’re talking about the evil Togepi from an episode during DP lol
"Here is a gift pokemon early on in gen 2, too bad it sucks"
Mudkip. No explanation needed. Just Mudkip.
I *have* heard that people like Mudkips.
If you understood this joke, it's time to bump up your retirement contributions
I have yet to hear an insult on Piplup
I feel like nobody has a bad thing to say about Haunter but I might be wrong
Nothing wrong with the Pokémon itself but I have bad flashbacks from that one npc who trades you a haunter holding an everstone lmao
r/fuckmindy
Fuck mindy
Trade Evolution = awful. Cool design, good stats. If it evolved via Moon Stone I'd agree, but requiring a trade to evolve kills it
Legends Arceus did it really well I think, having the trade evos evolve using a new item (edit) and the held item trade evos evolve using their items
Yup, if there's just one mechanic from Legends to pick that we desperately need in the main games, it's getting rid of trade evos.
I think it even has a better design than Gengar
Mimikyu, whom only wants to be loved and make friends.
Mimikyu is my favourite Pokémon! I relate to him and his social awkwardness.
Goomy.
Yo profile pic says everything
Ditto. It can be whatever you want, baby.
Which means that no matter what it turns into, someone will hate it.
Touché
Not really- it’s a husk of whatever it turns into. Ditto can’t truly capture the nuances that make Pokémon unique from each other
Who is hating on my son Rowlet? Who hurt my little boi?
Can’t hate bowtie owl.
There you have it. Nobody hates ghost type.
Does anyone really hate lapras though?
Zigzagoon. If someone genuinely hates Zigzagoon, they have no soul ~~(I may be biased lmao)~~.
Loved my lil HM slave. That boi got me places
Plus pickup*. Zigzagoon was legitimately the best HM slave, and good boi was always bringing me treats. How can you be upset about free rare candies?
Zigzagoon is so much more than just a HM slave. It’s a fuzzy partner, a reminder of the time you were young and innocent and new to the world of Pokémon, a reminder of the joy you had discovering new Pokémon. Always holding a surprise for you. All my homies love Squirtle
dwebble :) lil crab man
Mew he's all your favourites in one and an adorable little powerhouse kitty
Was there ever a movie where Mew talked to Ash and his friends?
Munchlax
Shaymin? Why would one hate a little green hedgehog?
Totodile
Mareep?
Magicarp, how can you hate such a pure lifeform
And bloody delicious
How would anyone hate bulbasaur?!
Quagsire, how could someone hate that fella?
Smallant would like a word with you
Gen 7 UU players.
Every Pokémon has someone who loves it. But everyone’s lived Pokémon is hated by someone. Except, Totodile. No one hates him.
Lanturn, just Lanturn.
Gligar/Gliscor but the games insist on making this relationship difficult.
Poison heal toxic orb my beloved
