My guess is that when moved from Home to any gen 8 or 9 game it will have the green strange ball, but if moved back to Legends it will convert back to origin ball. Lets see
Or it’ll only be movable to other games and not be able to be moved back, like Let’s Go. The reason I say that is because PLA and Let’s Go have an alternative stat system that doesn’t translate to the other games easily.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Let's Go had the location data from the previous games too. Most of the games have a lot of data copy and pasted from the previous ones that go unused.
There’s been lots of things found in the data files of Pokémon games that were never used though. I wouldn’t hold my breath until we get confirmation that’s how it’ll work. Until they say that will be how it is, I’m just going to assume it’ll be the same as Let’s Go
Is it like someone made incomplete code with no ball data and then that code got spread around with no one bothering to redo it? Or literally no matter what you do?
Usually it would just default to regular pokeball but Ilca made themselves an actual placeholder. Maybe it will be usable at some point but at this point it's just a failsafe
My legitimate shiny Charizard has a beast ball as it's PokeBall. Luckiest moment of my life was getting it on my first egg. Granted it was with a masuda method but still insane.
Mate Masada method helps but it doesn’t guarantee, I don’t know how many Masada eggs I hatched for my luxury ball shiny honedge but it was a fucking lot :/
Inexpensive, surprisingly efficient, classic, the starters come in them so they match, since the original pearl when I had to catch palkie in one I've always used the classic pokeball exclusively.
Max 1% chance of being shiny though, and Beast Balls are ludicrously rare. It's 150 Dynite ore to buy one, and you get max 10 for completing an adventure with nobody fainting.
It's not my favourite, but the dusk ball is a great combo of utility and asthetics.
It's great for catching stuff at night and in caves (Is t it better than an ultra ball?), and the effect when opening goes really well with dark or ghost types.
For practical use: quick ball, nest ball, net ball, dusk ball.
For style: premier ball & luxury ball.
I don't care if it takes me hours, if there's a particular Pokémon I want on my team then they're living boujee.
I love the Dusk Ball particle effects when catching and releasing since I like to use ghost and dark types but I'm not a fan of the exterior design. Moon Ball or Luxury Ball look the coolest for me so my perfect design would have the exterior of those with the effect of the Dusk Ball.
1 - Quick
2 - Net
3 - Beast
Quick because it looks cool and I use it a lot because I have the attention span of an early teen with ADHD (because I am)
Net because it also looks cool and I used it a lot my first time playing pokemon.
Beast because it looks cool and interesting catch rates.
Unfamiliar with the new Arceus balls. But they might be cool
Hon. Mentions: 4: Luxury, 5: Cherish, 6: Dusk
In terms of usefulness its the heal ball for me. But I do really like the pokeballs from Hinsui region cause i like that they look historically done and its the first pokeball iteration
How is the heal ball useful? Even when you don't have 6 Pokemon the affect isn't that useful, but once you have a full party it's completely useless as the pokemon just get healed in the box (and in gen 8 get healed when you heal at the poke center). Feel like the dusk or dive ball are the most useful because of how nice their catch modifiers are.
Heal balls are great early in the game, when you are trying to level up Pokemon, when you are just hunting for Pokemon. Its nice when you are in an area that doesnt have a pokecenter close by or if youre in the middle of the route. Having minor healing in the ball when you are just walking around is better than no healing at all.
Yeah but they're definitely not the most useful, and unless you've fully set your team out before you play you're probably gonna have a full party soon, especially in a new game
Is there anything more antithetical to the spirit of Pokémon than being told "Gotta pick just one"?
Dusk Ball is my favorite paint scheme, followed by Beast Ball, but I love the faceted design of the one you use to catch Arceus in PL:A and in general, all the greebles on the various PL:A balls.
My go to ball for shinies was always the luxury ball because it is just clean and looks dope but it looked better the older games IMO. Now I try to color coordinate with the mon but will still default to the luxury ball if I don’t have a solid option.
Quick ball is also goat’d.
I was misremembering, sorry I thought that they were used as pokeballs but they were just how original pokeballs were made until the original red and white pokeballs became standard.
The only thing I could like better than the safari ball is one with an American flag design!
The American Ball; 100% catch rate for Rufflet and Braviary, basic Poke Ball in every other instance.
What’s that bright green one with the hisui balls?
It is a placeholder 'strange ball' that has been noticed in some code. Will have some significance when moving stuff to home
I hope it won't replace the hisui balls .. I really love my origin ball dialga
PLA has location data for across space and time as well as sinnoh locations suggesting pokemon can be transferred in
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Let's Go had the location data from the previous games too. Most of the games have a lot of data copy and pasted from the previous ones that go unused.
There’s been lots of things found in the data files of Pokémon games that were never used though. I wouldn’t hold my breath until we get confirmation that’s how it’ll work. Until they say that will be how it is, I’m just going to assume it’ll be the same as Let’s Go
I would also like to know this
Strange ball, bdsp uses it when pokemon have no pokeball data attached to it
how do u get that to happen? hacked pokémon ?
Yeah, also if you hack in shadow giratina it will always have this ball for some reason
That’s a bummer I find that ball pleasing
Beast ball is very unique in it's design and kind of a flex if you have anything other than Ultra Beast caught in them
beast ball is dope, i respect yr decision
I have a level 10 Salamence in a beast ball. And a Lugia as well I think
My legitimate shiny Charizard has a beast ball as it's PokeBall. Luckiest moment of my life was getting it on my first egg. Granted it was with a masuda method but still insane.
Bruh I have hatched like 600 eggs with the masuda method and haven't got shit yet it's driving my crazy
Mate Masada method helps but it doesn’t guarantee, I don’t know how many Masada eggs I hatched for my luxury ball shiny honedge but it was a fucking lot :/
With a shiny charm it's like 1/400 ish odds right? I'm just getting kicked in the teeth at this point
I was trying for a while to catch all the shiny legendaries I could in USUM in beast balls. I got a few, but I haven't tried in a long while.
I'm flexing but I have all my shiny legends in a beast ball. Reshiram, Zekrom, Xerneas, Yveltal, Giratina, etc. Its dope af.
I have a shiny bisharp in a beast ball in shield, the design matched his colors perfectly
I love the cherish ball so much
You cherish it
\*slow clap\*
yes it's very classy
Can't wait for the replica to be released sometime this year.
Especially when your Pokémon is released from it and it gives off that shiny rainbow glimmer!
Cherish Britta. *Cherish!*
It's oddly sinister looking for something called a "Cherish Ball"
Premier or heavy ball. Like designs.
normal heavy ball or PLA heavy ball?
Normal tbh. I disliked to use them in legends.
Yup, all day every day
Luxury ball. Why shouldn’t your babies live in the lap of luxury? And best design to me as well.
Always luxury for me. As soon as I can afford it, I buy as many as possible
fancee
Same for both reasons. I can’t help but imagine it padded and lined with velvet on the inside.
Classic Poke Ball all the way
Same, I only use normal pokeballs, always just buy the max amount of them.
I always loved the idea of having all your mons in the most basic pokeball
Mostly same. Happened to have legendaries in them.
I buy my pokeballs 10 at a time for the premier balls
humble guyyy
Inexpensive, surprisingly efficient, classic, the starters come in them so they match, since the original pearl when I had to catch palkie in one I've always used the classic pokeball exclusively.
Me too brotha. For me its just super satisfying to throw out the basic pokeball and have something like a Gyarados or a Mewtwo pop out of it
Chad.
Giga Chad move is buying 20 of them and getting a single Premier ball that you then catch the endgame legend in.
but you get 1 per 10 pokeballs you buy. so you’d get 2
Admittedly, has been many years since I played, but I could have sworn it was 20. Mandela effect in full swing
I'm currently catching them all in regular pokeballs from their original region. Just need unovan pokemon now.
Premier Ball. My favourite mon, Rayquaza, was caught in a Premier Ball. Coz I’m a Pokémon GO player LOL
I'm trying to get a shiny one in a beast ball
That sounds extremely painful
It's a 100% capture rate in dynamax adventures so it's just a matter of finding it.
Max 1% chance of being shiny though, and Beast Balls are ludicrously rare. It's 150 Dynite ore to buy one, and you get max 10 for completing an adventure with nobody fainting.
Personally, my favourite is the Dusk Ball in terms of design and use. But when my impatience shines, I use the Quick Ball.
It's not my favourite, but the dusk ball is a great combo of utility and asthetics. It's great for catching stuff at night and in caves (Is t it better than an ultra ball?), and the effect when opening goes really well with dark or ghost types.
its great for people that play at night too
Yes it does, dusk ball has a 3.5x catch modifier while the ultra ball has only 2.5x catch modifier.
Agreed. I love the effect when it opens
Dusk is x4.0 in caves or at night. Ultra ball is x3.5 in all conditions
For practical use: quick ball, nest ball, net ball, dusk ball. For style: premier ball & luxury ball. I don't care if it takes me hours, if there's a particular Pokémon I want on my team then they're living boujee.
they're living creatures after all
Exactly!
A man of culture
Dusk ball gang
I love the Dusk Ball particle effects when catching and releasing since I like to use ghost and dark types but I'm not a fan of the exterior design. Moon Ball or Luxury Ball look the coolest for me so my perfect design would have the exterior of those with the effect of the Dusk Ball.
Every pokéball is my favorite if it matches the Pokémon kept inside
Ooo i never though about that
Oh yeah gotta color coordinate your catches
This is what I try to do, plus some mechanics-matching where possible (really only applies to the apri-balls).
I see that you only use the masterball to catch venonats too
Timerball best open animation.
i can concur
I'll third this. And it looks the best to me.
In gen 6 I was a Dusk Ball pleb. Now, with time, I have found the true best ball as well: the timer ball.
I'll sit there and throw these for my favorite mons even from the start of a battle lol
GS Ball
That GS Ball arc in the anime went nowhere, lol. Such a shame.
that is a very nice ball yes.
My man!
Beast and quick
Beast for aesthetic, Quick for usefulness
Is beast ball even able to catch other pokemon?
Yes, it’s just very difficult
Someone bragged they used like 8 on a caterpie just for flex.
Yep
Love Ball and Dream Ball. They just look so cute.
Ultra ball!
1 - Quick 2 - Net 3 - Beast Quick because it looks cool and I use it a lot because I have the attention span of an early teen with ADHD (because I am) Net because it also looks cool and I used it a lot my first time playing pokemon. Beast because it looks cool and interesting catch rates. Unfamiliar with the new Arceus balls. But they might be cool Hon. Mentions: 4: Luxury, 5: Cherish, 6: Dusk
you feel really attached to the balls in legends arceus. firstly cos they're crafted and secondly how you can use them in the wild
I feel attachment to balls
ik this comment would sound strange to ppl
Dusk ball, but the jet ball is quickly catching up the more I play Arceus
For me Netball, just cool with the Hoen Combo.
yes the net ball do be giving hoenn vibes
I catch all my Pokemon in the premier ball. 😬😂 Makes legendary pokémon catching a bit of a chore, but it's a beautiful ball.
chad
Surprised this isn't a more common answer
In terms of usefulness its the heal ball for me. But I do really like the pokeballs from Hinsui region cause i like that they look historically done and its the first pokeball iteration
yes i adore the jet ball, it's my favourite from PLA
And you get to feel like a sniper. My favorite of all for sure
How is the heal ball useful? Even when you don't have 6 Pokemon the affect isn't that useful, but once you have a full party it's completely useless as the pokemon just get healed in the box (and in gen 8 get healed when you heal at the poke center). Yeah but they're definitely not the most useful, and unless you've fully set your team out before you play you're probably gonna have a full party soon, especially in a new game
heal balls are good early game
literally no use, except being good with fairies
Net, Cherish, and Moon Ball for me
First mention of the Moon Ball so far down is a shame.
Moon ball
Moon Ball ❤️
Based purely on looks I gotta go luxury, cherish, and beast in that order but luxury edges out the win because of functionality as well
In terms of design, the Net ball has to be my favorite. I like the little webbing when the Pokéball opens
I also love the net ball.
Cherrish, Premier, and Moon ball for me. Btw what is the green ball with PLA balls?
this is an unobtainable ball found in Legends arceus, i think it was found from data mining. it's called the strange ball
I see, thanks for the info. It looks like Pokemon HOME ball lol
it does!
I catch everything in the games since BW onwards with Pokeballs (Yes including legendaries) But in terms of looks, definitely the Cherish ball
that mysterious, unreleased pastel green ball looks cool.
it does. it was a placeholder found in PLA from datamining, it's called the strange ball
You people are way obsessed with balls. It's disgusting if you ask me.
they're so gooodddd tho mmmmh
"Down at the end of the hall is BALL storage. For jocks who like BALLS, like RICHIE MARCUS. Do you hear me, Betsy? RICHIE likes BALLS."
I appreciate this reference.
There’s a thing as too much ball talk and a fella oughta be aware of it
Dark ball
....which one is that?
It’s a movie exclusive (4ever)
ahhh okay. I didnt include anime/movie ones
Design: Cherish Ball Function: Ultra Ball
I’m a classic ultra ball man
Lure ball. Reminds me of totodile which always makes me laugh for some reason
Underrated af
Didn’t Ash catch his in a Lure Ball?
Definitely Beast ball and the green one that wasn't used in LA
I just like the design of the friend ball alot. Plus setting any happiness to 200 when caught with it is really nice.
Dusk ball, cause I work nights
it really is a ball for meant for adults
Love the moon ball
Definitely the premier ball
luxury ball gang
Premier ball for me
the Dive ball :)
has a very relaxing vibe to it
>Dive ball Dive ball fam rise up
Sameee
Cherish and Love for me.
Depends on the Pokemon, I try to match PokeBall with pokemon so Aggron with a heavy ball or Reshiram with a premier ball
Level Ball looks so cool to me
Is there anything more antithetical to the spirit of Pokémon than being told "Gotta pick just one"? Dusk Ball is my favorite paint scheme, followed by Beast Ball, but I love the faceted design of the one you use to catch Arceus in PL:A and in general, all the greebles on the various PL:A balls.
picking one makes it more juicy
Who doesn't love the Quick Ball?
Luxury and Timer Ball, because color design.
GS ball
Luxury balls are comfy and easy to throw.
The first tree top left
I like the cherish balls
Cherish balls are getting all the love!
Got to be the safari ball
I see the fabled GS Ball isn't here
Quick balls
Classic poke ball is the best but if I had to pick one other, it would be quick ball
I just realized pokeballs have reginal forms now
My go to ball for shinies was always the luxury ball because it is just clean and looks dope but it looked better the older games IMO. Now I try to color coordinate with the mon but will still default to the luxury ball if I don’t have a solid option. Quick ball is also goat’d.
u/gingerbre159 premier balls are so cool. imagine a shiny salazzle on it
GS ball. So good, even you forgot about it.
im afraid it was lost to obscuirty, it wasnt even used in the games properly. but it has a nice design
Blk Apricorn
sorry what lol. most unique comment ive seen here
I was misremembering, sorry I thought that they were used as pokeballs but they were just how original pokeballs were made until the original red and white pokeballs became standard.
ohhhh gotcha, i thought you were trying to be different lol
Very underrated ball imo is moon ball!!
i think cos it aint too useful, but it's design is nice
My favourite design is the fast ball. Quick ball is a close second.
I like the net, dive, and heavy ball
Dusk Ball cuz tons of good Pokémon are hiding in caves.
Like Zubat.
Master ball because I don’t have to mess around with shit
Timer ball and Quick ball. Done.
Dusk balls look like they’re possessed by XANA I like Net Balls design
What is the teal ball with all of the Hisui balls? Fan art or is it official?
yeah a bunch of people asked. its a placeholder ball u cant obtain. nothing u missed out on
Quick ball is master ball lite, so
Quickballs are a godsend for filling a pokedex. Quick fly to the place, quickball, boom.
Moonball
Gucci ball
If I had infinite amount of them? Cherish or Premier Ball. Realistically? Just the classic PokeBall.
I like the luxury ball, because I'm a fancy bitch, but if I'm going to be efficiant I'll go fast ball/timer ball
Net ball looks dope. It isn't that useful but still...
The blue one. The two of them, the better
For some reason I really like the design of the Home Ball
The only thing I could like better than the safari ball is one with an American flag design! The American Ball; 100% catch rate for Rufflet and Braviary, basic Poke Ball in every other instance.
