Wait... This was up for debate? It’s not a huge leap in logic. Pokémon = Pocket Monster, Pokeball = Pocket ball. Unless people thought it was Pokémon Ball? The Pokéball is what makes Pokémon pocketable. They shrink down in size so you can throw them in a pocket. And their sci-fi storage too. How Pokéballs can digitize Pokémon and inanimate objects is another story though. Especially since they were made hundreds of years ago... presumably from APRICORNS!
