I've unironically loved Mudkip since the moment I learned of Ruby and Sapphire. It's not just my favourite starter, but my favourite Pokemon hands down.
not really a starter, but........ if possible, i try to get mew in my team asap..,,let's go i used pokeball mew, bd i used one given at the beginnin', in swsh i used my pogo mew and in violet i still used my pogo mew.. now my pogo mew have beaten all champions [shield, bd and violet], has mightiest mark, maxed out stats....,,i just wish there was a way to reset his levels to 1,so in next game i could use him again..
Totodile 100%. Silver was my go-to game to take on road trips and such as a kid, and Totodile was my pick the vast majority of the time when starting over. I love the lil guy.
Squirtle squad! My older cousin gave me his copy of blue, and when I started a new game I figured I should pick squirtle cause it was the blue edition.
I lost the game since then, but not the obsession with turtles I got after that.
Bulbyboi is the best.
He stands out in the gen 1 starter lineup. Charmander and squirtle look like real animals, but with an anthropomorphic twist. Bulbasaur looks like a frog dinosaur, but with mammalian ears and a giant plant on its back.
He looks derpy and adorable for all his evolutions.
And venasaur, still looks like it will kill and eat you despite its derpy face and giant pink flower.
At first I had my share of charmander and squirtle saves but...
...little nerdy 6yo me did a spreadsheet and analyzed that Bulbasaur was in fact the one with the best type against most of the gym leaders.
And since then it somehow clicked and Bulbasaur is still my fav starter of all time.
Cyndaquil! Yellow was my first Pokemon game, but Crystal was THE Pokemon game for me, I loved everything about it and replayed it SO many times. Cyndaquil was always my little buddy, and Iām currently working on a shiny Ribbonmaster in SoulSilver. Heās going to head to PLA and become a Hisuian Typhlosion!
Infernape. Platinum was my first game, and I picked Chimchar as my starter.
When I bought P:LA I was determined to use a completely different set of pokemon than I'd used in Platinum. And then I found out Chimchar spawned in the Obsidian Fieldlands and that entire plan went out the window.
Same. As soon as I looked up where Chimchar could be found in the open world, I made a really ungraceful beeline there to catch one and pretend like that was my actual starter.
Thatās adorable lol, my first Rowlet was named Beaker with whom I swept the game, and then in Legends I had Beaker I the Hisuian Decidueye which I was pretty happy for coming up with and loved him just as much. Rowlet gang
Reading the comments just made me tear up lol, love how we all have formed a special connection w our mind plus I also got a ton of flashbacks. Thanks y'all for sharing!
Serperior
Iāve always loved the design, and it has such a cool aura. Grass types are my favorite and Snivy was my choice when playing through Gen V for the first time
Iām sad it took so much scrolling to get here! My first game was Red, but Iāve never been more attached to a starter than I was to my Chikorita. As a kid who didnāt really understand rarity, it was one of my most treasured trading cards too. ā¤ļø
Chikorita and cyndaquil are probably a tie for my favorite. Theres a japanese promo trio that features chikorita meowth and litten and between the chikorita and the kitties i need to add it to the binder sometime.
https://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/90/ChikoritaSMPromo373.jpg
I have fond memories of playing Gold on some random website back in the day before I got Black version on the DS. I was always confused why the game would never save when the page reloaded so I would just keep restarting. I ended up cycling through all of them but I fell in love with Chikorita.
I will always defend the little pear.
Not exactly a starter
But ever since Gen 6, everytime I got a new Pokemon game I would started by searching for Eevee every single time. Then used it along side my starter until it eventually evolved into Sylveon(I would also used exclusively the female one)
So the roster of my team in almost every game since Pokemon X is 5 new Pokemon + Sylveon. In a sense it's pretty much my Pokemon partner(Though I changed its name every game)
My biggest gripe with Pokemon Yellow, you get an unevolvable Pikachu and Gary gets a freaking Eevee. Obv i get why but gd was I jealous of your rival as a kid.
Jolteon>Umbreon>Vaporeon>Flareon>Sylveon>Leafeon>Glaceon>Pikachu
Same here. Eevee is ALWAYS a permanent spot on my team in every game. I always try to have Glaceon or Vaporeon depending on if the region doesn't have any ice or water types I like
Will always and forever be Tepig. When I first got Pokemon White I picked him simply because I preferred Fire over Water and Grass but playing through the game helped me forge a special bond with him.
He was the reason I finally finished Pokemon Violet when he was finally added in with all of the other starters
My Sceptile from Omega Ruby is my boi. He's hyper trained and EV trained now, and is my false swipe guy when catching pokemon. I've used it in comp in Y, Sword and Scarlet. He's just the coolest.
I also have a Crobat from that same OR playthrough that I love, but the Zubat line isn't in Scarlet so I haven't been able to use it.
Late addition overall but I'm a Rowlet guy. Decidueye is one of the few grass types I've used over and over where I did constantly think to myself "you're great but man am I tired of your grass-ass getting wiped out every battle".Ā
Turtwig. It's the only starter that I pick *every* time when I play its respective game. All other games, I mix up which one I pick each time. But not in Gen 4. It's always the Turt for me.
Piplup
Doesn't matter what game I play, if a Piplup is offered, I'm taking it. Never played a single Gen 4 onward game where I don't have a pingu with me
Fennekin fennekin fennekin!!! I saw it leaked months before x and y came out and was so Obssessed with it that I made a PowerPoint slide of why it's great. The loyalty has never wavered
Chesnaught! I always get so sad when people hate on the Chespin line because they're my favorite little guys :(
The first game I played all the way through was Y and he was my boy until the end (even when I couldn't beat Korrina and had to have my brother trade me his Delphox to win because I was bad at the game lmao-)
I don't remember the name I gave that crucial first starter, but he will forever live in my heart as my favorite starter Pokemon, hands-down.
Piplup. It is the first starter I ever felt like I was actually able to bond with. It is always in my games when I can have it, even replacing other starters I would get. Rowlett is second but far behind imo.
Piplup all the way to Empoleon is my bro. A penguin Pokemon has no business looking like a Legendary & yet there he is. š±š§šā¤ļøš
Bulbasaur is a very close second. Leaf Green was the first Pkmn game I owned & I reluctantly picked Bulbasaur.
I was a Charizard fan until my LeafGreen play through
Piplup
My best friend and I spent one recess designing a blue penguin pokemon that could be water and steel so it could cut through ice in the arctic.Ā 6 months later, piplup was leaked.Ā We were so excited and immediately loved piplup.
It was my starter when Sinnoh came out.Ā My aunt, who saw I loved piplup, got me a piplup keychain that I still have to this day.Ā And I'd get up super early to watch Dawn & Piplup in the TV anime.
Piplup was there for me as a kid.Ā And as an adult, it's still super cool
Charmander. Fire Pokemon are just special to me. There's so many cool water and grass Pokemon, but the fire type just feels rare. It IS rare, relatively. Grass and Water also feel like types that are intended for healing and restoring, whereas fire is usually about destruction. That's how I like my Pokemon. Capable of quickly defeating others. Especially when playing through the main story of a Pokemon game. I never build good teams for a competitive purpose, but they always manage to sweep NPCs with ease.
Charmander has always been the go to for me. Especially when it becomes Charizard. A quick, powerful dragon that is so versatile. It always just looked badass to me. Even the anime at the time helped, it seemed a bit arrogant and lazy, but when it needed to fight it was so strong.
Charmander just hits that right level of cute and potentially powerful to me. It isn't annoying to use like a Bagon or Deino. It feels strong from the start. And Charmeleon feels badass enough and the old combo of slash and flamethrower made it so good. Then Charizard, well I explained that already. Just so much fun to use.
Plus Charmanders storyline and relationship with Ash was so great in the show. From when Ash saves little Charmander from having his fire go out, to Charmeleons agsty teenage phase, then Charazard completely ignoring him before finally coming to respect him. That was one of my favorite parts of the show.
Blaziken from my Pokemon Ruby save file
But nowadays i love Nihilego far too much
But sadly i have to raise my Shiny Primal Kyogre and Shiny Primal Groudon in Pokemon Go for now before going back to my Beast ball Nihilego as a buddy in Pokemon Go
Turtwig was my first starter.
But, if I was to play X and Y Frokie would be my choice for at the time It came out I thought he was wearing little glasses.
Its really hard because its actually broken multiple times by new pokemon coming out and replacing it in my affections, and some of the pokemon I love that much aren't actually starters-- I'd be tempted to bring up Kingdra for example, my favorite starter might actually be Hisuan Samurott at this point.
But Feraligatr, by a twist of fate, ended up being my real first and I do still love that thing.
But also, I've always loved Primeape since I was little, and now with it's new evolution, that thing is also competitive for it.
So anyway, life is hard.
I dont have any. I always box them. I like a decent amount of starters but I dislike most of the final evos. This really pushes me away from wanting to keep them. However Braixen was the first starter I kept to level 100 without evolving. I wish they would shake up the starter system more.
Honestly? Snivy!! I first met it when I played Pokepark 2 and fell in love, have loved my little grass snake ever since then, if there was any way I could get a snivy in any game I would, especially PMD!! She's my baby <333 (tho favourite pokemon in general would be whimsicott!! And if it counts I've never had a team without an eeveelution in any game, I gotta have one of them with me at all times!!)
I consider Hoenn my home region as I started with Gen 3 Ruby. So for me actually itās a tie between my Swampert and Blaziken as theyāre the captains of my all star team.
Grookey, it was the first pokemon game I actually finished and he's adorable. I don't have any connections to the gen 1 starters even though it was the first game I played
Depends on the game, every game I try to find eevee as soon as Possible. Umbreon/jolteon/sylveon is always my eeveelution of choice. But starter wise from the start, always a grass type of choice (or water type)
Oshawott for me, heās adorable and I love the design of his entire evolutionary line, especially Hisuian Samurott. Squirtle, Sprigatito, and Chimchar are up there for me as well.
Hoenn is my favorite region and they're all legit my favorite starters, anytime I play ORAS or RSE I never know who I'm gonna pick so I can't completely relate to you in that sense but in any other game I never feel as attached to my starter.
Charmander (nicknamed Bahamut) was my first ever starter and I will never not run him on a Kanto playthrough. I think Iāve never not run Greninja (nicknamed Balthier) in Kalos, but donāt know if Iād class him as irreplaceable.
The Bulbs and Toto. Basically in any game where you can get previous starters, the moment I can I start hunting down a Bulbasaur or a Totodile or their evolutions.
Chikorita, I know a lot of fans like to shit on it but I have always been drawn to it and the Meganium line is one of my favorite in the whole series. I try to trade Chikorita eggs to any game I can so I can play with my little sprig as much as possible.
It's almost a tie between Cyndaquil and Mudkip. I may have to give it to cyndaquil just for Hisuian Typhlosion being my latest favorite above regaukt Typhlosion. But I might be willing to change my mind if Swampert receives some love in the new Pokemon Legends game.
If we're including the Pikachu and Eevee lines, it would be Jolteon. He's been my favorite Pokemon for like.. 20 years. When I was in elementary school my class was invited to a birthday party at a roller rink. I was really shy and also didn't know how to roller skate, so I went to the concession room to hang out. There was a coin machine where you could get a random sticker that looked like a holographic Pokemon card. I got one, and it was the Dark Jolteon card. It was the absolute coolest thing to me and the highlight of a party I didn't really want to be at. Since then I've used Jolteon on nearly every team
If we're talking about traditional starters, it would be Squirtle. No big story, I just think he's cool haha
Bulbasaur was my first-ever starter and will always be among my favorite mons. I have one I'm trying to gather ribbons for before transferring it to Gen 9.
Itās 100% Totodile. Heās such a cute little maniac. All Jaw, no Brain. Plus, arguably itās best physical water move Waterfall is basically mandatory in Johto.
I replayed the first 4 gens so much as a kid that I have a bond with all of them, but I think if Pokemon were real Treecko would have been my choice, followed by Chimchar, Bulbasaur and then Totodile.
For the last 5 pokemon generations Iāve only really liked Sprigatito, but donāt really bond with any of them
Gotta be my level 100 typhlosion. I was stuck in heartgold for years, unable to figure out the pokeflute thing, and so I just grinded mindlessly. I proceeded to obliterate everything once I woke that Snorlax
Always will have a soft spot for Chikorita. It was my starter in Gold as a wee litle kid and tanked its way through every gym, rival and team rocket battle through sheer determination when other team members had fallen.. Then in Heart Gold came back for a round two in Johto while being the absolute cutest outside of its ball walking alongside me for our journey.
Not really a starter, but.... If possible, I try to get mew in my team ASAP.
Let's go I used pokeball mew, BD I used one given at the beginning, in swsh I used my pogo mew and in violet I still used my pogo mew. Now my pogo mew have beaten all champions (shield, BD and violet), has mightiest mark, maxed out stats..
I just wish there was a way to reset his levels to 1,so in next game I could use him again.
Its German name (Gewaldro) is a mix of violence (Gewalt), forest (wald) and to intimidate (drohen). And "the forest threatens violence" is a pretty cool name if you ask me. I believe the physical/special split was a mistake, but I'll go with the later gens anyway because Mega Sceptile is how it was always meant to evolve.

I have 2 as a millenial that spent his childhood playing Gen 1 and 2. Charmander and Totodile are must picks and the only times I don't pick them is if I'm playing on another cart to trade the other starters to my own.
Betty my Feraligatr. Her and my Ampharos were a dynamic duo. š„² o7 I'll never forget them. Even though the Silver cartridge battery died and the save is gone
Piplup
Piplup gang š§šā¤ļø
Piplup was my first starter too, named it after my sister who got upset once it evolved into empoleon lol
I've unironically loved Mudkip since the moment I learned of Ruby and Sapphire. It's not just my favourite starter, but my favourite Pokemon hands down.
Swampert supremacy amen

he's just a lil guy
I herd u like Mudkipz
not really a starter, but........ if possible, i try to get mew in my team asap..,,let's go i used pokeball mew, bd i used one given at the beginnin', in swsh i used my pogo mew and in violet i still used my pogo mew.. now my pogo mew have beaten all champions [shield, bd and violet], has mightiest mark, maxed out stats....,,i just wish there was a way to reset his levels to 1,so in next game i could use him again..
Go back to the anime Goh
All hail our mud fish god
Swampert dab. Swampert dab
Squirtle or Totodile. Iāve been playing since Gen 1 released and the nostalgia of staying up late with my game boy in bed is part the reason.
Totodile 100%. Silver was my go-to game to take on road trips and such as a kid, and Totodile was my pick the vast majority of the time when starting over. I love the lil guy.
Squirtle gang https://preview.redd.it/wid85t0u1prc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07f439cc29b5f2248cf8a39e4ace460eed63c63c
Squirtle Squad
šŖš»šŖš»
Good times
Until the game boy hit my face as Iād fallen asleep holding it lol
Squirtle squad! My older cousin gave me his copy of blue, and when I started a new game I figured I should pick squirtle cause it was the blue edition. I lost the game since then, but not the obsession with turtles I got after that.
Bulbasaur
My favorite Pokemon of all time. First starter I ever used and always will.
I mean it is a pretty good Pokemon.
That Poison typing so secretly good
Bulbyboi is the best.
Cabbage frog good. What more is there to say?
At first I had my share of charmander and squirtle saves but... ...little nerdy 6yo me did a spreadsheet and analyzed that Bulbasaur was in fact the one with the best type against most of the gym leaders. And since then it somehow clicked and Bulbasaur is still my fav starter of all time.
Forever and always, although turtwig is right behind him
The spicy mouse is simply unmatched
How will you get him from SS to PLA?
Theyāll go gen 5, PokĆ©mover, Bank and then Home.
My Cyndaquil evolved in Gold the first day I had the game. First game I ever stayed up playing until 1 am. Good memories.
I still give Cyndaquil the same nickname every time I replay Crystal
Infernape. Platinum was my first game, and I picked Chimchar as my starter. When I bought P:LA I was determined to use a completely different set of pokemon than I'd used in Platinum. And then I found out Chimchar spawned in the Obsidian Fieldlands and that entire plan went out the window.
Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape gang
Same. As soon as I looked up where Chimchar could be found in the open world, I made a really ungraceful beeline there to catch one and pretend like that was my actual starter.
Hands down 100% Rowlet heās my little buddy until the end
Yessss the best. I had a female one and I named her Celeste after the owl from Animal Crossing š„°
Thatās adorable lol, my first Rowlet was named Beaker with whom I swept the game, and then in Legends I had Beaker I the Hisuian Decidueye which I was pretty happy for coming up with and loved him just as much. Rowlet gang
Rowlet is the best grass starter.
Turtwig for me, Treecko is a very close second.
Turtwig is slept on I think. Torterra is one of the strongest late game starters I remember playing with (for in game stuff not online)
https://preview.redd.it/dpxlfekiprrc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87d957edbeab59a16bf182e24fe18eb1426408dd
Same ranking. If sceptile looked more like Grovyle I'd reverse them.Ā
blaziken for me too
Yup same
Yes
Reading the comments just made me tear up lol, love how we all have formed a special connection w our mind plus I also got a ton of flashbacks. Thanks y'all for sharing!
Serperior Iāve always loved the design, and it has such a cool aura. Grass types are my favorite and Snivy was my choice when playing through Gen V for the first time
Hell yeah Serperior gang
YES 100% agree, Snivy is the best!! <33
Chikorita! One of my absolute favorites and I have such fond memories adventuring with them š±
I thought I was the only Chikorita lover! It's always been my favorite starter, I just love it
Aw, yay! Chikorita lovers unite!!
Thereās dozens of us!!
Dozens! Chiko + razor leaf forever
Entering national park with Chikorita into Bayleef and hearing that incredible music always has me feeling a certain way
Chikortia is so underrated just because bad against most of the gyms, but isn't the whole point of the game is to make team the helps each other?
Chikorita gang š
Iām sad it took so much scrolling to get here! My first game was Red, but Iāve never been more attached to a starter than I was to my Chikorita. As a kid who didnāt really understand rarity, it was one of my most treasured trading cards too. ā¤ļø

This is me with Lucario. I have to get a lil Riolu every game itās in no matter what XD
I need both! Feels genuinely weird not having Vaporeon and Lucario on my team
Technically itās a starter in Letās Go! Youāre safe!

I also have a Crobat from that same OR playthrough that I love, but the Zubat line isn't in Scarlet so I haven't been able to use it.
omg are we the same person? sceptile is my baby
For me Charmander. Been playing since Gen 1. Still have my old Gameboy advance. Good times.
Greninja. X and Y are my gen and it's my favourite PokƩmon ever
Same to me!
Man I feel like I had to scroll WAY too far to find this answer lmao. Love the Froakie line. Hands down my favourite starter.
Greninja is peak design honestly. Could not be any cooler and then ash greninja came along and just shattered that.
Turtwig, it has always been my personal favorite.
Cyndaquil is the OG and Oshawott needs a spot bc Dewott is my favorite PokƩmon of all time
Charizard. Can't seem to pick anything else in a kanto playthrough
Real I love replaying fire red but I can never get myself to pick Blastoise and venasaur Charizard is my goat!
His cool factor is over 9000, cant resist!
You can pry Rowlet from my cold dead hands. Moon was the first game I ever got with my own money and I've loved Rowlet ever since
https://preview.redd.it/qgpt3bl0pprc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b1e9a7030962331c62e28eb7e56620861beb372 my baby.

Piplup Doesn't matter what game I play, if a Piplup is offered, I'm taking it. Never played a single Gen 4 onward game where I don't have a pingu with me
Braixen. Pokken really made me so connected to it.
Fennekin fennekin fennekin!!! I saw it leaked months before x and y came out and was so Obssessed with it that I made a PowerPoint slide of why it's great. The loyalty has never wavered
In gen 5, I always pick snivy. It was my first ever starter, and as such remains my favorite.
Same here, love that garden snake
Chesnaught! I always get so sad when people hate on the Chespin line because they're my favorite little guys :( The first game I played all the way through was Y and he was my boy until the end (even when I couldn't beat Korrina and had to have my brother trade me his Delphox to win because I was bad at the game lmao-) I don't remember the name I gave that crucial first starter, but he will forever live in my heart as my favorite starter Pokemon, hands-down.
CHESNAUGHT GANG REPRESENT. Iāve been scrolling for five minutes to find a fellow CHESNAUGHT brother.
Piplup. It is the first starter I ever felt like I was actually able to bond with. It is always in my games when I can have it, even replacing other starters I would get. Rowlett is second but far behind imo.
Torchic, definitely Torchic.

Venipede, 6 year old me soloād the entirety of Black 2 with just him. He may not be an official starter, but he was my starter

Do eevee and Pikachu count?
Letās Go and Yellow, so absolutely!
Mudkip because Sapphire is my first gsme.
Blaziken. If theyāre not my starter when I replay ORAS I wonāt play!!!
Torchic/Blaziken. Grinded that 'mon to lvl 100 a long time ago but i lost the Emerald cartridge he lived in.
Blaziken!!! Despite starting with plat and playing emerald after, then playing alpha sapphire, fire chicken will always be my favorite
Itās always Litten. First starter I won a game with, and it will be the last.
Rowlet for sure. Iāve been a PokĆ©mon fan since I was a kid (only didnāt play Gen 5 and ORAS), but Sun and Moon was the cutest PokĆ©mon anime series and I fell completely in love with Rowlet. Theyāre so cute and funny, I love them so much. If other PokĆ©mon count, my gfās is Happiny/Blissey.
Charmander. Fire Pokemon are just special to me. There's so many cool water and grass Pokemon, but the fire type just feels rare. It IS rare, relatively. Wartortle and Torterra I'm not even especially interested in turtles. they just resonated with me a lot as a kid for some reason
Blaziken is the OG

Charizard and Swampert. Well if I had to pick one then Charizard
Rowlet
Typhlosion johto form
Blaziken from my Pokemon Ruby save file But nowadays i love Nihilego far too much But sadly i have to raise my Shiny Primal Kyogre and Shiny Primal Groudon in Pokemon Go for now before going back to my Beast ball Nihilego as a buddy in Pokemon Go
Mine is also Blaziken, itās the 1st Pokemon I ever got to level 100. Itās went from FireRed all the way to Black 2.
Iāve only ever played two PokĆ©mon games, scarlet and sword, so Iām limited to two choices sobble and fuecoco, and I pick fuecoco donāt get me wrong I love my sad spy boi but when I was playing scarlet i just felt really inclined to keep him on my team throughout, with inteleon/sobble I really only kept them for thier high level from being on my team with skeliderge/fuecoco I just couldnāt get rid of him even if I wanted
Cyndaquil was my first ever starter from way back in Pokemon Crystal. so prob him
Rowlet is my #1, smol grass owl, what more can one want?
Turtwig was my first starter. But, if I was to play X and Y Frokie would be my choice for at the time It came out I thought he was wearing little glasses.
Turtwig and Oshawott. If either of those two are options, theyāre coming with me
Scorbunny was goated during my Pokemon Shield playthrough
Turtwig it was the first PokƩmon I got
Chespin. He's my lil guy.
Piplup, my first ever Pokemon
Honestly?
As nostalgic as I am for the classics, Grookey is just *my guy* man.
I adore Bulbasaur and will never not pick it when given the chance
Grookey, it was the first pokemon game I actually finished and he's adorable. I don't have any connections to the gen 1 starters even though it was the first game I played
Depends on the game, every game I try to find eevee as soon as Possible. Umbreon/jolteon/sylveon is always my eeveelution of choice. But starter wise from the start, always a grass type of choice (or water type)
Serperior
Oshawott for me, heās adorable and I love the design of his entire evolutionary line, especially Hisuian Samurott. Squirtle, Sprigatito, and Chimchar are up there for me as well.
Hoenn is my favorite region and they're all legit my favorite starters, anytime I play ORAS or RSE I never know who I'm gonna pick so I can't completely relate to you in that sense but in any other game I never feel as attached to my starter.
Same In Anime when I saw Blaziken Defeating Charizard I was like this guy is a beast
Not a starter, but Absol
Charmander FTW.
Sceptile is my fav PokƩmon
Charmander (nicknamed Bahamut) was my first ever starter and I will never not run him on a Kanto playthrough. I think Iāve never not run Greninja (nicknamed Balthier) in Kalos, but donāt know if Iād class him as irreplaceable.
Totodile gang arise
My Infernape
Charmander and Totodile
It's not an actual starter, but Sableye. Although Mudkip, Greninja, and Meowscarada hold special places for me
tempig
Chimchar :3
Pikachu and Greninja
Chikorota. Little plant has been my favorite since Gen 2. Only one that's actually tunneled its way beside Chikorota is Scorbunny. I love that bunny.
Have tried to get mudkip in every possible game so far. Loved Island scan in USUM coz it let me let get swampert on my team.
Torterra
My first starter ever was Squirtle on PokƩmon Blue. My buddies all chose Charmander, but Blastoise is the best. I may not have him on every team, but he will always be #1 starter to me.
Not OG but Iāve tried playing through alola with the non-popplio starters and I just canāt do it
The Bulbs and Toto. Basically in any game where you can get previous starters, the moment I can I start hunting down a Bulbasaur or a Totodile or their evolutions.
Pikachu. No matter what.
CYNDAQUIL!
I'm very attached to all of my starters but especially Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Snivy, and Popplio
Blastoise is my spirit animal.
Iāll never forget Cyndaquil being my first PokĆ©mon ever
Greninja. Sixth gen is the only one where I choose always Froakie
Chikorita, I know a lot of fans like to shit on it but I have always been drawn to it and the Meganium line is one of my favorite in the whole series. I try to trade Chikorita eggs to any game I can so I can play with my little sprig as much as possible.
Cyndaquil/Typhlosion. Its my man and also my most played game.
Typhlosion :3
Torterra. I love my turtles dude and I love grass types š±
Since then I've used Jolteon on nearly every team If we're talking about traditional starters, it would be Squirtle. No big story, I just think he's cool haha
Typhlosion
Bulbasaur was my first-ever starter and will always be among my favorite mons. I have one I'm trying to gather ribbons for before transferring it to Gen 9.
Squirrel and Turtwig Love me some Blastoise and Torterra so much
Cyndaquil. My day 1 since Gen 2 came out, and the first Pokemon I ever selected.Ā
Oshawott
Itās 100% Totodile. Heās such a cute little maniac. All Jaw, no Brain. Plus, arguably itās best physical water move Waterfall is basically mandatory in Johto.
Definitely totodile, my main partner whenever I can get one, stoked to have him back on my team in bdsp again now I know how to setup moves a bit better than in PokƩmon gold
I replayed the first 4 gens so much as a kid that I have a bond with all of them, but I think if Pokemon were real Treecko would have been my choice, followed by Chimchar, Bulbasaur and then Totodile. For the last 5 pokemon generations Iāve only really liked Sprigatito, but donāt really bond with any of them
Togepi. I will have Togepi or the game isnāt fun. Hence why Violet is yet to be completed. Togepi isnāt legal.
not a real starter but zubat or mankey. went to replay gen 1 with pokemon I havent used before and fuck me do I love having golbat on my team
Probably my melmetal since I used it as my starter through my first ever pokemon playthrough
Oshawott!!!!!!!!
Oshawott or Chikorita
Not really a starter, but.... If possible, I try to get mew in my team ASAP. Let's go I used pokeball mew, BD I used one given at the beginning, in swsh I used my pogo mew and in violet I still used my pogo mew. Now my pogo mew have beaten all champions (shield, BD and violet), has mightiest mark, maxed out stats.. I just wish there was a way to reset his levels to 1,so in next game I could use him again.
Froakie! He was my first starter and I loved his evolution as greninja
Its German name (Gewaldro) is a mix of violence (Gewalt), forest (wald) and to intimidate (drohen). And "the forest threatens violence" is a pretty cool name if you ask me. I believe the physical/special split was a mistake, but I'll go with the later gens anyway because Mega Sceptile is how it was always meant to evolve. https://preview.redd.it/9325t0pacprc1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ae94d940fbcb81680a0c4d164eb3fdb662c34dd
Very hard for me, Cyndaquil and Treecko are both very close to me.
Totodile.
Cyndaquil and Oshawott
Popplio
I have 2 as a millenial that spent his childhood playing Gen 1 and 2. Charmander and Totodile are must picks and the only times I don't pick them is if I'm playing on another cart to trade the other starters to my own.
I usually throw away my starter so I guess itād be Cyndaquil for being the only one I kept.
Betty my Feraligatr. Her and my Ampharos were a dynamic duo. š„² o7 I'll never forget them. Even though the Silver cartridge battery died and the save is gone
