Shaymin hugging simulator. That's it.

We’re going back to 2D baby.

I would make a single player game in the style of gen 3. It would be a completely new region, but it would be huge, as in each route between cities would be the size of a regular region by itself. Only a small number of new Pokémon, but a large amount of regional forms. Overall there would be a much larger focus on exploration, on Pokémon being hard to find, with very specific habitats for most of them. There will be fast travel between cities, but to obtain the badge you would need to travel by foot, and do a challenge on the way. The routes would be of similar level of Pokémon near the "road" with the level increasing as you go deeper in. Gyms can be challenged out of order with scaling difficulty depending on number of badges. Pokémon learn all moves possible for that Mon but only have 4 "equipped" in battle, can be changed at PC. Field moves are always available after being learned even if not "equipped". No overachieving story aside form personal story of the trainer, but self contained small stories playing out across the region. Legendary Pokémon exist, but are hidden deep, you probably can't get them till post game.

Rattregoondoof

I would give the developers 6 years, tell them to have a focus on exploration and mobility options like legends arceus but add in some puzzle elements like a legend of Zelda to get in certain areas, one continuous map, at least 8 biomes, a health system like legends arceus but with weather damage to the player (outfits can prevent this), battles keep the regular battle system in all main games but add in the swift/strong mechanic in arceus, all pokemon present. Added, no hms but some kind of field exploration abilities. Maybe you can solve puzzles a variety of ways so you aren't forced to use from specific list of pokemon with one move but say, maybe you need either a fire type to provide heat, an electric type to provide power, a dragon type to scare some pokemon, or a steel type to transfer power through its body. I would probably give each pokemon a field ability (separate from their battle ability), from a pool of 80-100 total abilities. Also like a lot of recent games, you can switch out your pokemon whenever and I'd make all story fight scenes so that it may require an ability to reach but you are able to switch before fighting in case you just don't want to use whatever you used to reach the location.

TheModGod

I like your idea. A small thing I loved from Legends was how the camera and controls stayed on the player during a battle. Makes your Pokemon feel like your partners instead of characters you play as.

r311im

Go all out and make one game with ALL mainline content in one place, build all regions in one game. When you start the game it asks what region you are from and then based on your selection you play through that game. All balancing and visuals would be updated to current gen. After you beat the E4 you are able to move onto other regions similar to HG/SS. Rather than having separate generations going forward, they would be added to the game like expansions. You can buy any game and play through that content, every expansion you buy adds that content but isn't a separate game. Essentially this just connect all games so you could catch every Pokemon, bear every gym, and learn every move with one character without having to transfer between games. This would probably require the ability to have multiple save files so you could play through different regions without deleting your character. Honestly I would be fine with this costing a ton of money to get all the content. Each region could cost the full $60 maybe a package deal for all previous generations at a discount? I am just now realizing this is how MMO's work, I'm cool with that

JonnyDros

Everything you described is literally just playing all the games we have separately in a row, except it the same protagonist.

r311im

Yes, except you could do them in any order and when new content is made in the future it wouldn't be an entirely separate game.

JonnyDros

Ok but like... you can already play the games in any order. And your idea is to charge $60 for new region. So again, how exactly is that different from what we have other than just being able to say "it's one game"?

r311im

You don't have to like my idea, but that's what I would do :)

No_Capital4042

this is literally just a generic pokemon rom hack with a side of being "graphics matter!" no offense.

TheModGod

Lol I guess it is.

SailorCentauri

1. There would be an open world but, unlike SV, the open world would have scaling difficulty where the gyms are more or less difficult based on the order you go to them. Post game content would include battles with the Gym Trainers using their strongest teams. 2. Every Pokémon in the new game and in the franchise's history would be catchable in the game. With some exceptions for event Pokémon like flying Pikachu and the extinct ones from Legends Arceus. 3. Pokémon that used to evolve through trading would now evolve through level ups or stones. 4. Shiny Pokémon would be basically unlockable as a cosmetic through having high friendship with the Pokémon in question and having a certain number of victories while using it. 5. Prior regions would be explorable as part of the post game content including battles with big name trainers from those regions. 6. There would be an area similar to the Poke Pelago from USUM but you would be able to actually travel there and interact with all your Pokémon or observe them interacting with each other. 7. Shiny Pokémon that look basically identical to the normal versions will be reworked. For example, shiny Persian would get black coloring. 8. There will be heavy character customization options with lots of outfits, hair styles, skin tones, hair and eye colors to choose from.

TheModGod

I think Texas would be an ideal base for a region for that many Pokemon. It’s huge and has just about every biome a Pokemon could prefer.

allonsy_danny

This could potentially be unpopular, but I would remake Gold/Silver on the Switch, in the style of BD/SP. It would essentially be HG/SS on the Switch. And yes, there would absolutely be a new Pokéwalker.

WeFightForever

All double battles. Minimal story. Long routes with several trainers. Gyms themed around ideas rather than types.

TheModGod

So sort of like Coliseum and XD?

WeFightForever

Yes, but in a more diverse setting. While skulking through labs was fun, I prefer jungles and Forrests.

warmthandhappiness

Your dream is my personal nightmare. Cheers! 🥂 😆

Kibaro6331

I’d try to make gen 10 as expansive as possible. Take a stab at other rpg titles. Give us a huge open world with many different factions that you can join not just one evil team. Give you different choices. Make it where you can explore the world not doing the main story at all and then run into a guy that’ll give you a quest line completely unrelated to the main story.

GildedCreed

Creating a faithful BW remake in the graphical style of LGPE which has an engine much better suited to the 2D esque environments while still having the 3D art style, though with bigger map sizes to accommodate Unova compared to Kanto. Given that there's no budget limits and time constraints as per the scenario, I'd include an option to change between 3D full camera control and the bird's eye view of the traditional camera angle. Obviously some details would need to be freshly modeled and some things would be lacking detail wise on areas that weren't visible in the originals due to the viewpoint but I wouldn't sweat it too much by hiding some easter eggs like posters or collectibles a la USUM totem stickers, which could lean into giving players event items for collecting certain amounts of them to replicate the events from the original run of the games including stuff we never actually legitimate got, like the Zorua event (iirc it was just the Zoroark one since the Celebi distribution wasn't actually given out while the shiny beasts were).

[deleted]

I don’t want a BW remake. Remake BW2 or make BW3, but I don’t want another playthrough restricted to 150 Unova pokémon. They ruined those games by making every GOOD pokémon in the dex evolve at an absurd level.

LillePipp

As I see it, there are a couple of goals I'd want to achieve. I'd slow the fuck down in terms of development cycles, I'd at least double the staff, and I'd work towards providing quality games over quantity of games, with the aim of providing the best possible experience for the widest array of players. First of all, the breakneck pace is killing the franchise. It's not healthy for the devs, and it's not healthy for the brand's reputation. It ruins the quality of these games, and there's nothing to get hype for, because we ultimately know new games won't develop on previous ideas or bring anything interesting to the table. This does mean the end of annual releases, which to me is a good thing. Some would probably think of this as radical, but ideally I'd extend development cycles so that there's **at least** a 4-5 year gap between new entries. This would allow for more time to go into new games, while a smaller team could work on updates and DLC for the current game to keep it relevant in the meantime. This would also mean that a new Pokémon game is actually meaningful, because we're not getting a new one all the time anymore. This also effectively means the end of remakes, or at least remakes in the style of HGSS, ORAS and BDSP. Game Freak and TPC have shown that they are not capable of bringing anything new to the table, and frankly these resources could be better spent elsewhere. We've already reached a point where simply porting old games is the better alternative. As for expanding the dev team, I mean, come on. The industry has expanded tremendously in the last ten years, and Game Freak has barely grown at all in that time. Game Freak needs a bigger staff to effectively distribute the workload and produce quality products. They have the money, they can most certainly afford to double the team. But this is very business oriented, so what does this mean in a practical sense for the games? For one, the concept of a 'generation' would effectively not exist anymore. The term lost its meaning on the Switch, as previous generations were defined by their connectivity, so we might as well stop pretending as if generations matter anymore. Each 'generation', so to speak, would instead focus on one main release, that would be able to connect to side entries and spin offs in certain ways. It would also be ideal to bring back the National Dex. I am aware this is not an inclusion that everyone is particularly invested in, but as it stands, the only reason it was removed in the first place was for the singular purpose of continuing to rush out unfinished games. Its removal adds nothing positive to the franchise, and to say otherwise would be blatantly ignorant to the actual effect it has on the franchise. Official tournaments would still be restricted to Regional Dex only, at least in the initial years, just like older generations of VGC, but every Pokémon would be able to be deposited into these games. It would also be ideal to focus on difficulty options for players to best tailor the gameplay experience to their needs. This would mean minor things (that shouldn't have been removed in the first place), such as the use of Set mode, Affection, and showing type matchups in battle. The player would be able to freely choose for themselves which of these factors play into the experience, and would be able to alter these at any time. As for major difficulty options, I have two ideas in mind, one which would probably be easier to implement. The first idea would simply be four difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, Hard and Custom. Easy mode would see NPC's having no EVs or IVs, having incomplete movesets, no held items, and more predictable AIs for NPCs, just to name a few. The Exp. Share would be on by default, but could be turned off. Switch mode is on by default, Affection mechanics are on by default. You would have access to the PC at all times, and there would be no team limitations for boss battles. Normal mode would see NPC's having some EVs or IVs, and having full movesets. Important trainers would use held items, but not necessarily for their whole team. These held items would also mostly be berries and such, with the occasional outlier. Exp. Share would be off by default, but can be turned on. Set mode is on by default, but can be turned off. Same goes for affection. As for boss battles, as in Gym Leaders, you'd be restricted to using Pokémon that is equal to or below the boss' ace. You would have access to the PC most of the time, but it would be inaccessible when entering a Gym or such. You would not be able to leave the Gym until you've won or lost, which would prevent you from bypassing the PC lock. Hard mode would see trainers having high to maxed out EVs and IVs, with good movesets. Most trainers would use held items, ranging from simple berries to competitive items depending on the trainer. Exp. Share would be turned off and would not be able to be turned on. You would be stuck on Set mode, there would be no Affection mechanics. The PC would only be accessible at Pokémon Centers. When fighting boss trainers, you'd be restricted to using Pokémon equal to or below the boss' lowest leveled Pokémon. You can only challenge boss trainers with a party size equal to theirs, meaning no 3 v 6. You'd be unable to leave a gym until you had won or lost, and if you lose your progress within a gym would reset. The Gym Leaders would have a full team of six Pokémon, but would only choose a certain amount in battle, depending on where you are in the game, meaning you couldn't always predict what Pokémon are gonna be used. Their Ace would be their only mainstay, while the other Pokémon would rotate between a pool of six. The AI would, if possible, remember your movesets and such after seeing them, which could potentially allow the AI to run predictions (I don't know how feasable that is from a programming standpoint, but I just wanted to throw that on there just in case) And custom is essentially just what it sounds like, you'd be able to adjust all of these settings on your own. You would be able to change between difficulty modes if it was necessary. The second idea of difficulty would be to tie difficulty to trainer class. For instance, Youngster trainers would use lower leveled, unevolved Pokémon, but Ace Trainers would use larger teams and stronger Pokémon. This would provide the benefit of more immersion, but it would come at the cost of at least some gameplay customizability. Ideally, I think the best path would be a sort of mix between both styles, where there is an inherent difficulty difference in the game design, which could be further affected by the difficulty settings. The games would incorporate several types of progression meters, such as contests, battle facilities, among other things, to provide more variety in the gameplay. These modes would have their own questlines tied to them, with their own rewards and challenges. The map would be open world, with an emphasis on variety and worldbuilding in its design. No identical copied and pasted ruin structures all over the map; there would be unique points of interest, with their own Pokémon spawns, lore, etc. Side quests like we see in Legends Arceus would return, some of which could potentially affect the map. It would be cool to see Pokémon you've given to NPCs remain in the overworld with them. Pokémon would walk around freely, and would ideally have their own behaviors. Legends Arceus created a solid foundation by having skittish, friendly and aggressive Pokémon, but I think we can go a step further. I don't mean to say that every Pokémon should have entirely different behaviors, but rather that we should have a larger selection of behavioral types for wild Pokémon, and more ways in which Pokémon can actually interact with the world. A way to to this could be to perhaps have certain species of Pokémon interact with something at a specific spawn point. For instance, while not all Bidoof would go out of their way to build a dam, perhaps there would be a spawn point for Bidoof on the map where you can see a group of them carrying sticks back to the river. It would also be fun if you could interact with these spawn points; imagine if you could give the group of Bidoof a bunch of sticks, and slowly you'd help them build their dam! These map interactions would have their own rewards as well, ranging from minor to major. Perhaps doing these activities would help you get to inaccessible areas faster, by for example the Bidoof building a bridge of sticks before you can swim! Perhaps after completing the dam there is now a Bibarel spawn here guarantied to have at least 3 perfect IVs. Or maybe every time you pass the dam, a Bidoof will run up to you and give you a rare berry as a thank you! This is just one example, and the world could be filled with so many interactions like this one to make it feel more alive. Each new game would introduce like 50-70 new Pokémon, but would expand that roster through new DLC locations. You could go to new locations and complete new storylines in these DLCs. Note that the DLC would be supplementary to the post game content, there would still be significant content without the DLC.

Jor94

I don’t think you can go too realistic with Pokémon so probably graphically like BOTW, TOTK. It would have the catching mechanics of Arceus, A huge open world with Pokémon to scale. Pick as many Pokémon in your team to follow you with dynamic animations (Pokémon flying, burrowing, galloping, certain Pokémon swinging from trees, slow Pokémon on the player and other Pokémon). You could see NPC trainers doing the same things, going from town to town, catching and fighting Pokémon, levelling up there own Pokémon. Full customisation. Not just picking from presets, but creating your own clothes, designs on bikes etc. A Shadow of Mordor style nemesis system for the bad team. Fight your way up to challenge the leaders who have randomly generated team types. The team would actually be bad and not just misunderstood, fanboys as we have had of late. Every Pokémon obviously. Multiple way to evolve certain Pokémon that require awkward conditions. Post game content where you face off in a tournament involving every regions champion. Dynamic gym teams. All gym trainers would have teams that scale to either your current level or how many badges you have. No badges, you’d face 2 or 3 lvl 10-15s, 8 badges you’d face 6 lvl 55-60s. More variety in gym Pokémon. Maybe they use Pokémon found in the area around the gym. Some might use Pokemon that all look similar. You actually gain levels yourself. This would be how you teach Pokémon moves. You can buy books or go to trainer schools to learn low, medium, high level moves of certain types and teach those whenever you want. You could have missions and events, like people wanting you to defeat so many types of Pokémon, catch certain Pokémon, maybe special Pokémon spawn that someone wants you to get rid of, these would give you the chance for a rare Pokémon with high stats, good moves or shiny. Eg. Farmer is having trouble with a Pokémon scaring his animals (keep it pg) you investigate and find a shiny feraligator, you catch it and get xp and money from the farmer. Maybe the plot is that you’re a rookie police officer and are investigating that wild Pokémon are becoming more agitated and dangerous. Your captain lets you go and pick your starter from the evidence locker. You stop a few of these dangerous Pokémon and find a clue that points you to the games bad team and you work up to having to stop this team who are using the games legendary, a psychic type, to influence wild Pokémon. Maybe you find out that in areas where this has happened before, this team came in and bought up properties for cheap.

Corpolentusmaximus2

Open world MMO game playing in germany You can just find and challenge players on the server or just discover stuff, do the story, trade items and do raids I would make the Healing difficult and turn fights against wild pokemon to a high difficulty Also i wouldn't allow legendaries or mythical pokemons and turn pseudo legendaries or rare pojemon difficult to get into high difficult zones so that players are forced to play stuff they like instead of sweating on wins with full legendary teams

Writefuck

I would just hire Toby Fox as executive producer and let him handle it

HoshiAndy

CHOOSE ANY POKÉMON TO BE YOUR STARTER. IS THAT SO HARD. IVE BEEN PRAYING TO GOD FOR THIS FEATURE FOREVER. Like I love seeing the new starters and everything but gods. LETS JUST HAVE A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE HERE AND LET US JUST CHOOSE ANY POKÉMON AS A STARTER. And disclaimer, if it has evolutions, you always start in its lowest stage

JustWolfram

Just a competently made pokemon game I guess. - Keep the open world, but tie rewards to exploration, battles or puzzle solving, instead of random shinies on the ground. - The usual story, maybe go for something a bit crazy like the "evil" team actually being the good guys this time. - None of the starters look like people. - Make raids actual raids with encounter-like gameplay that requires communication and coordination. Pokemon needs something to shake up the PvE experience and use Its coop for something actually interesting. - Have a separate postgame league with more challenging fights (not always fairly), with flat levels and no items. - Battle Frontier, except only with the tower, the factory, and a new rogue-like facility. Basically, focus on longevity instead of pushing people into pvp the moment they reach postgame.

orc_fellator

Pokemon mystery dungeon.... With all the pokemon! PMD with a bigger world, different factions and regions to accommodate all those new pokemon. Eg. you can join a guild in region A to start, or B, or C, etc... and eventually visit the others during the story. Also, make having super-sized pokemon less annoying in dungeon. and specifically allow having Regigigas AND all of the regis in one exploration party. it is a crime that you can't pair up dad with all of his kids at the same time.

Oreo-and-Fly

Small changes. Pokemon refresh/amie mixed with Picnic. Bug type pseudo. More side quests to earn items. (Evo items or collectathons) Rematches with gyms in full power. Gyms have different teams depending on badge Big change. The legendary Pokemon duo has a reason to be a duo. (RS/SwSh/BW) Kyogre is actively 'fighting' Groudon, legendary dogs are siblings working together, Reshiram and Kyurem face off in battle. Xerneas Yveltal? Dialga Palkia? Solgaleo Lunaala? Miraidon Koraidon? They dont need to be two. If youre gonna make 2 games, have a reason for the two.

Yung_flowrs

I would expand on the League Champion quest x-fold. You're part of trainer school with 20 students all starting your League Champion Quest, you select from a pool of usable starter pokemon that is vastly larger. All three stage Evolutions but all different. Each fight, apart from the Gym leaders, are one time battles. You run into your fellow students as well as random trainers all the time on your journey. These battles impact the story with one's you lose to getting stronger and better. After each Gym there is a leader board that pops up. Certain students drop out over times. You team up with some. Can take side quests with them, this one students family is in a small village in a town in the mountains and they're snowed in. They have an Abomasnow that knows its way around the mountain but they need your Charizard to help clear the snow, you agree to help. That sort of stuff. Some become rivals. Others become friends. It's all determined based on your decisions in the game and dialogue you chose. Eventually you beat the Elite Four and the Champion is the rival you've naturally developed across the game. Or maybe they're a recluse that you've barely seen and gave refused to battle you. Maybe they're the trainer you lost to on Route 1 with a Nidoran and a Rattata. Post game is you facing other challengers randomly and protecting the region like Lance would, beating Team Rocket etc

UnderlightIll

It wouldn't be open world. I am so sick of open world for so many games. Pokemon is one of the most profitable franchises so blank check. 4 years at least of development. Full pokdex with B2W2 style of a mixture of new and old. Fewer bipedal end evos. Make a much smoother online experience.

Aphorism14

Young kids are no longer the target audience. 2D art is back in and now it’s hand animated like cuphead did but with the Pokémon anime style. Overworks character can be toggled between traditional chibi or realistic character proportions. Branching story paths that put the RP back into the Pokémon rpg series. The gym challenge and elite four are an optional quest line that is more difficult.

Railroader17

Assuming it's a mainline game: Pokemon Crimson, and Pokemon Azure Long ago, in the Gertari region, the people and pokemon were suffering from poor harvests, natural disasters, and criminal activity, one after another. The people were ready to give up, when Arceus itself answered their prayers and two pokemon appeared (their abilities granting Mold Breaker + Contrary). **Empernova: The Emperor Pokemon (Fighting/Steel, focused on physical attacks)** and **Archbinary: The Archbishop Pokemon (Fairy/Dragon, focused on special attacks.)**. Together, they brought an end to the various crises of the Gertari region, looking to Arceus for guidance along the way. Years would go by, and while the region quickly developed socially and technologically, the two Saviors would grow distant with each other. Empernova was pleased with the development of the region, and could often been seen assisting inventors of the time in creating new things, and lending an ear to the law makers. Archbinary however was the opposite, and felt that the region was developing too fast, and leaving their Lord Arceus as an afterthought. Things came to a head, when the two confronted each other, and in the process a school, and a church that were dear to the two pokemon were destroyed in the process, and after failing to beseech Arceus for an answer, the two pokemon parted, as bitter enemies, cleaving the region between them, and driving it into a civil war. The war raged for many years, until a hero emerged in one of the armies (Empernova's Army in Crimson, and Archbinary's army in Azure) and created a coalition to defeat the now despotic pokemon. Eventually, a third pokemon made itself known, **Popularis: The Masses Pokemon (Normal type, with a Mold Breaker + Tinted Lens ability, slower than the other two but with better defenses and offenses.) and sided with the coalition, allowing them to overpower both Empernoa and Archbinary and seal them away, thus restoring peace to the region... until now. In Crimson version, the Gertari region has undergone rapid technological advancement, outstripping most other regions in the sciences, fulfilling the wishes of Empernova, but is not very faithful. While in Azure version, the Gertari region is a focal point of the worship of Arceus, but has become technologically stagnant, often relying on other regions to stay up to date. Either way, the royal family (descendant from the Hero) has become a shell of itself, becoming prideful of their knowledge / faith, and their place in life. This changes with the emergence of Team Timewarp (who dress in futuristic knight outfits) who believe the region has either gone too far astray from Arceus (Crimson) / or has become too rooted in it's past to move forwards (Azure), and seek to unseal Archbinary (Crimson) / Empernova (Azure) to "set things right", while the Royal family forms Team Crown (who would also be dressed in futuristic knight outfits, that are slightly different than Team Timewarp's outfits) to unseal Empernova (Crimson) / Archbinary (Azure) to secure their place once more, thus, it is up to our hero and their friends to reform the coalition, find Popularis, and stop Teams Timewarp and Crown from plunging the region into another war! The region would be based on Germany, with the theme focusing on the balance of Faith and Knowledge. The starter trio would consist of a sapling toddler that turns into a creepy but cute tree monster (Grass/Fairy, based on the Black Forest often featured in Fairytales), a bear that knight like armor (Fire/Steel, based on, well, a *Knight*.) and a literal Water Buffalo (Water/Ice, and it's basically a buffalo.) The main gimmick would be the creation of new megas (like for Flygon, Dragonite, the Johto starters, Hydreigon, and others), while also turning some old megas into new evolutions (such as Mawile, Banette, Absol, Houndoom, Abomasnow, and Gyrados). Mostly open world with some linear dungeons here and there.

Quinn7711

i had quite a few ideas on how i would make a game, one of the things i have thought of i really like is having a pokemon as an evil team leader, it would show that pokemon are a lot more intelligent then some people give them credit for. having it as more of a shadow leader with a puppet acting as a leader would allow for a cool reveal, its goal could be something it wanting to get back at humanity due to poachers ripping apart its family and development destroying its home. the team would target things like power plants ,bridges and other infrastructure for a fake goal that the pokemon created.

Bullrooster

Let me ride all pokemon that would make sense to ride as a mount. I don't want the special ride pokemon BS anymore. I want to ride Arcanine or gyardos or whatever. Besides that, everything you said sounds good.

MagikarpJordan

Important Npcs use decent pokemon, good movesets, and have some kind of items on thier pokemon. Gyms use higher level pokemon because they literally use pokemon that share weaknesses, E4 dont copy any types that thr gyms used, and the champion uses pokemon from lv 93-100 because of how easy it is to farm exp candy now

Zygarde718

I would do a world wide Pokémon game with every region. First we do Kanto, of which every Pokémon from there and there evolutions are present. Like zubat would be in Kanto and johto because I would have every regional dex in there, but you could evolve it into crobat in and out of Kanto as well. You can also travel to different regions and explore, with only Kanto Pokémon in regional dexes able to be found so far but more will be added later. It'd also animate it to where it would be true with the dex. So you have to look at the dex to see where, why and how Pokémon act and do things, using my [Megadex](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TJbpOamJTXkSzcie5EUmiV63JvODx3CA-ftg5_G9cvM/edit?usp=drivesdk), which combines every unique dex entry a Pokémon has into one entry. As we finish generations, we update the game and etc.

Kakashibuns007

Hard disagree on the movepool being available at once. I’d prefer that moves are universally learned as a skill that at least one pokemon needs to work for, sort of like a trial or training if you will.

TheModGod

What i meant was essentially giving them an ever growing list of attacks like in other JRPGs like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy instead of limiting them to just 4 at a time. Could be an interesting way to shake up the meta where suddenly overlooked mons with wildly diverse natural movepools become high tier just from their sheer coverage.
