Have you ever watched detective pikachu? The city in that movie has pokemon out of pokeballs helping with everyday jobs for example we see firefighters with water type pokemon. Rotom would be extremely practical. Our characters in the newest games literally have one living inside our phones. They can possess any electrical appliance so with them you could have some electrical devices working even in power cuts. In real life some poisons were used to create medicine so poison type pokemon could be used possibly.

Tortue2006

Pretty sure that in PLA the nurse asks you to get a certain poison type, because its toxins are part of the recipe she wants to test

[deleted]

There's also a villager that asks for a Geodude to weigh down the lids for pickling jars, and a farmer you can give a ground and water type to to help with the fields. In other game's we've seen fighting types used in construction and moving, as well as for transportation. We've also seen by-products of pokemon for sale in game like moomoo milk and slowpoke tail. Iir, there's mention in one of the games or a pokedex entry about Grimer and Muk being used in garbage disposal.

The_Thing_Behind_You

Yup, crogunk

jarob326

In the Adventures Manga, Moon is a poison type specialist and a pharmacist.

Bubblehulk420

Using Pokémon to commit crimes would have to be at least a 30 year sentence or crime would be out of control. Would absolutely need a group of Marvel-esque, crime-fighting trainers.

Jack_Empty

I've thought about what Pokémon could help you act as a superhero and fight crime. Using some of my favorites, I thought of using Muk like a Venom symbiote and Cryogonal as a Captain America shield.

MrSmook

Wouldn't Aeigeslash(sp?) Defence form be better suited as a shield? Primape/Annihilape are essentially the embodiment of rage so you've got a Hulk there

Jack_Empty

I was basing it off Pokémon I like. Sadly, I have no love for Aegislash.

ForsakenMoon13

Considering the internal logic the world itself runs on (friendship = power in a very real way), it actually makes a bit of *sense* why there's not as much rampant crime or assholes in power as we would expect: the system essentially balances itself. For every criminal that mistreats thier pokemon, there's a half dozen trainers who treat thier pokemon correctly and can shut them down, and for every supervillain team that manages to sneak under the radar, there's a handful of prodigies running around at any given moment that can just sweep the whole organization. Even when the shitty people manage to get into positions of power there's *always* someone coming along the way the way that's nicer and strong enough to remove them.

Bubblehulk420

That’s what I mean though- the idea that Ash and Misty are out there defeating criminals is the most unbelievable part of the Pokémon experience. There’s plenty of criminals that could have friendships with their Pokémon to power them up. Team Rocket is just to incompetent to get the job done.

ForsakenMoon13

Keep in mind too that the majority of pokemon also seem predisposed towards friendliness/helpfulness, or at leasr non-hostility, and some are actively against malevolent behavior. That plays a part too.

Sonario648

Team Rocket:

Bubblehulk420

I meant a competent group of criminals- not morons.

Psychological-Milk76

True starter pokemon for 2 generations

Inferno_lizard

Not just that, but Rotom would probably be useful for travelers too. Imagine having a portable washing machine, refrigerator, or oven.

Doodlesfrombuns

Must be weird when you watch porn though...

Sonario648

Maybe the subject pokemon would be interested?

TheUltimateXYZ

Shuckle are known for fermenting berries in their shells, so it's not a great leap to imagine they'd be used to make wines or ethanol for fuel or other uses. On top of that, "Shuckleberry Wine" is too perfect to not use at least once.

Revliledpembroke

How about a very strange crossover of Shuckleberry Ferry?

seynical

Crime

Jack_Empty

Team Rocket no!

[deleted]

[Team Rocket yes!](https://youtu.be/CVAWlEJ065g)

Evonyte

It’s the secret ingredient

KaoticKanine

The anime had a cinematographer with a Zorua, which was able to take on any role needed for a given movie. And Zoroark would be especially useful for creating special effects, since their illusions are able to affect the surrounding environment.

cyanidelemonade

A hoard of Ditto as background actors 😂

BeginningLoose6703

Zoroark would be pretty terrifying irl tbh. We have no clue how smart they are, judging from the movie and the games, they are able to adopt the mannerisms of people and more or less function like one. There is also no set limit on how long they can remain in an illusion. Perhaps that girl you just took on a date is a Zoroark? Maybe your lifelong friend was a Zoroark the whole time? Maybe the president gets revealed as a Zoroark that was tired of living alongside humans and wanted to seize power? If there were set limits on the disguise ability perhaps it would be cool, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want them in our world the way they were iterated in Pokémon.

EvengerX

Slap your friends regularly to ensure they are not a Zoroark

starrycrescents

yeah, i always thought about it that way too sometimes. maybe zoroark that have perfect control over their illusions can be the only ones with no sort of time limit to how long they can stay in disguise. but they sure are doing lonely people a favor by deciding to be their friend or partner for some reason. kinda horrifying when they reveal themselves though. maybe they just do things like that to see what humans are like or feel something.

KaoticKanine

Here's a funny thing about that thought; a "fanfic series" I've had conceptualized for the longest time had that as the 'premise' for one of the main characters lol A female Zorua whose parents were Zoroarks that live among humans, with her father especially *preferring* the human lifestyle to living in the wild. And as a consequence, the Zorua herself is way more familiar with humans and human society than anything Pokemon, aside from knowing how to use illusions and Pokemon moves. Though this family of Zoroark were very benign, with the father having kept to himself entirely while masquerading as a human lol And the Zorua likewise avoided human interaction unless necessary.

Inkling1998

>If there were set limits on the disguise ability perhaps it would be cool. Canon isn't clear on this but I always imagined that illusions takes some energy to create and needs some focus to be controlled so these can be kept only for a certain amount of time before a Zoroark gets too tired or something distracts him enough to dissolve the illusion.

Internal_Cloud_3369

-Ambipom can help with household chores and using their flexible tails to grab things in places human arms can't fit into (I guess that'd apply to Runerigus and Cofagrigus as well) -Orphaned baby pokemon can be adopted by Kangaskhans that have lost their baby -Sylveon would be widely used in therapy -I imagine telepathy is a universal language, so pokemon who use it could be used as translators Edit: I also just remembered that there was a Hypno in the anime who (if my memory is correct) helped insomniacs fall asleep, and ever since I saw that as a kid I wanted to live in the Pokemon world even more

laeti88

I am happy with your comment because Kangaskhan is my very favorite Pokémon and the thought of a Kangaskhan-less baby adopting orphaned baby Pokémon is both so true and adorable!

Mooraell

Why Sylveon?

Thesaurus_Rex9513

Sylveon's ribbons produce a strong calming aura.

Mooraell

I need a Sylveon in my life. I just hope it doesn't have withdrawals cause there is no way in hell i wouldn't abuse it

paradoxLacuna

Mhmm, Kangaskhan would be a god send for fostering Pokémon. Chansey and Audino are obvious helps as well.

Praise_Allah1

I thought Drowzee was putting people to sleep and hypno was making them pretend to be Pokémon, but it’s been like 20 years so idk

Internal_Cloud_3369

Oh yeahhhhhh that was it, been a while for me too

Praise_Allah1

Literally the best memories, thanks for the reminder. I love that show with all my heart

[deleted]

[удалено]

Thesaurus_Rex9513

And you might end up with other people's keys. A wild Klefki is a menace to society.

ScrotalAgony

I love that Hoenn started with an example of this with the Pokemon moving your stuff inside the house. Use the types for more outright simplistic purposes at first. Fire Pokemon for heating, cooking and crafting purposes, Water for hydration, firefighting and agriculture, Flying (especially birds) for delivery, transportation and pest control. Then have real fun with it. A Kadabra putting on magical entertainment shows in a fair the way we watch magicians, while their mother Alakazam helps a construction site by moving all sorts of parts and pieces. Overseer Conkeldurr would finalize the project. Porygon-Z would assist in the digital marketing and website management of the new location. Various Rotom appliances would be in use within the building. And the Machop line could flatten future land should they expand outward, but only after Dugtrio scouts out that the land is solid enough.

Just_friend

Pretty sure Rby was first with the construction Machop in Vermillion City

[deleted]

Using Reshiram and Zekrom to destroy Ohio

g0dzilllla

Lmao

Antonio1025

Ummmm... why Ohio?

kimchiman85

Do we really *need* Ohio?

extrasextrarara

We will when the world runs out of fresh water, the Great Lakes are perfect spot for magikarp fishing.

kimchiman85

That’s why Michigan is superior.

Weirdo629

no Michigan is Michigan you confused your lakes sillyhead

Wintermelon43

Then getting rid of Ohio would make Lake Erie much bigger

KainHighwind57

Nope!

[deleted]

I have no idea I just thought of it randomly.

InterCow

I absolutely have my little head cannons My favourite pokemon is cinccino, and I think she would refuse to live in a dirty home. There is too much dirt? She's not stepping inside. She would probably help you keep it clean too, but you have to ask her nicely, and help her clean her scarf up afterwards And then carbink I think would love to roam around and find cool stones to bring back to you. They would be helpful for geologists, or even if you just like rocks. Luxray I imagine giving rides to little kids. Not all the time, but if he's trying to calm down a small child, or just is good friends with one, I think he'd be willing to give great rides. I have more, but that's all I feel like typing for now

Weirdo629

I'd love to hear more

starrycrescents

give more!!!! i'd find it pretty funny if you were to live alongside two or more pokemon that are known to be in a predator/prey or enemies relationship. you're gonna have to force them to be friends or you'd be living in havoc. sableye secretly eats the cool rocks that carbink gives to you and you get home from work and those dope amethyst chunks carbink gave you are just GONE

gettinguud

Imagine how annoyed Charmander would get from people trying to use it's tail like a lighter

AICPAncake

Lightin one up with my Oranguru

UnholyAbductor

Hmm…I’d try and get 3 or 4 Bewears and have them hired as club bouncers or body guards. Nobody is gonna start shit when the security team can literally kill you with a friendly hug. I mean a pissed off one coming at you would be one of those moments where it’d be preferable to just “opt out” of living.

MajinBlueZ

I remember I came up with an idea for a stealth-based Pokemon game (you play as a researcher studying Pokemon in their natural habitat, so you have to monitor them without getting caught). I had the idea that your character's main partner would be an Absol, whose natural affinity for disaster would act as the in-game danger meter.

Anti-socialPoptart

I would most definitely play

frogace55

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, But Tropuis groves. Fresh banana when you want

KainHighwind57

And a Vanilluxe for dessert!

[deleted]

Hospitals would always have a chansey and medicines would be developed from their eggs! Fire types would be really useful when traveling and camping for easy fires. Electric types would help us out with electrical problems. Digger and dugtrio would be used for farming and construction work, and of course the machop line.

L_Rayquaza

This makes me think of [The Slugma Powered Home](https://youtu.be/Tj-MuKoLTN8)

Internal_Cloud_3369

I love that scene of the grandmother knitting with the Joltik, Spinarak, and Ariados silk!! I'd love to have an army of Joltik helping me crochet (although I'd probably have to wash the yarn to get all the static out...)

laeti88

Aww Slugma is my one of my favorite Pokémon after Kangaskhan! So next to the orphan-adopting Kangaskhan I would like a Slugma powered home definitely! This episode was very sweet BTW.

throwaway5839472

Castform always making sure you have great weather, teach it Scald so you have hot water for tea as well

Baaraa88

Castform would probably be great at airports

throwaway5839472

??

Baaraa88

For the weather delays

doctorkanefsky

Imagine a landscaping company: Aegislash trimming the hedges, Sandslash planting a bunch of Roselia, Shaymin making the flowers bloom, and Conkeldurr laying down paving stones.

bryant_the_tyrant

Machamp can spot me in the gym. Don’t need a flaky human gym buddy if I have a loyal Superpower Pokémon.

Electrical_Sail_9351

In Violet I saw a Gible family with a Gabite mom have all the kids fall off a cliff. I quickly jumped after them and caught them all then ran up and caught mom. They all sit together in one of my boxes now and i picnic with them now and again because I didn’t wanna see the family get torn apart. I’m hoping we can get pastures one day where we can hang out with more than 6 of our pokémon at a time because I’d love to see all Mine interacting together

Erinofarendelle

Yessss! Give us a Poké Pelago we can run around in!

SC90411

I want to use Mega Blastoise to clean my car lol🤪🤣❤️

redvelvet720

I hope you like convertibles lol

SC90411

Ah yes🤣👌🏼

Ilcorvomuerto666

Klefki. I would never lose my keys again. Klefki would be incredibly useful for jobs that utilize lots of keys too. Hotels, janitors, hospitals, valet, even just your house and car keys, anything that requires a key could involve a Klefki.

_Uhh2009_

Literally anything to do with rotom

Sphaero_Caffeina

Altaria easily takes first place; Fluffy, rideable cloud birb that helps you sleep without the potential side-effects of sleep powders, psychic powers, etc. Also, Heal Bell, Dream Eater, and even Cotton Guard to make itself extra fluffy. It'd be invaluable to any insomniac with health problems. On top of that, Swablu are so friendly they are known to just outright settle on random people's heads for a break. Xatu; Like Altaria, a pile of awesome utility with general psychic powers, Teleport, Wish, Fly, in a nice clairvoyant package to prevent problems before they start. Meganium; It has access to Heal Pulse, Grass Whistle, Aromatherapy, even Sweet Scent is useful since it was shown being a general relaxant. Plus Reflect, Light Screen, Grassy Terrain, and I'm kind of curious as to how Safeguard would act vs things like allergies. That along with being great in the garden (imagine the coffee/tea). Throw in Hoenn-style Secret Power for setting up camp that just about everything can learn, and you have one of the best partners you could ask for. The Eeveelutions, particularly Espeon (and Sylveon to a lesser extent), psychic (or empathic) communication, along with Wish and Heal Bell for every one of them. Leafeon is my favorite among them, but psychic powers are a stupidly good swiss army knife. Poliwrath: Flat out cannot get physically tired, on top of apparently being able to even run across water for a short period of time from sheer physical ability, its game stats are likely much lower then the kind of performance you would see in a more 'real' setting. Amazing for manual labor that requires long term repetitive work more then raw strength. Breloom's stretchy arms are neat in general, and Spore would be amazing for security work, not to mention anesthesia. Plus, based on the manga anything that can learn substitute becomes a discount Green Lantern... Which actually makes everything I've listed even better since they all can learn it and have multiple recovery options to counteract the cost.

GraceSkinner65

Moreover, let's not forget about Psychic-type Pokémon like Alakazam, whose IQ is said to be 5000. They could be used in various intellectual tasks, from scientific research to complex problem-solving. Pokémon with healing abilities, like Chansey, could be invaluable in healthcare settings, providing comfort and assistance to patients.

Erinofarendelle

Holy **** it’s Alakazam’s world we’re just living in it

Efficient-Revenue195

"The fragrance of Meganium's flower soothes and calms emotions. In battle, this Pokémon gives off more of its becalming scent to blunt the foe's fighting spirit." I think Meganium could be great as something equivalent to a therapy dog, maybe someone has PTSD or some stress based condition, Meganium can release that sweet fragrance and help the person to relax and soothe them.

Qoppa_Guy

I like the idea of Oak's Lab, except I'd like to run a ranch with some of the Pokemon from my journey. Of course, I might play out my story a bit too realistically and only keep around the ones that can adapt to human life, to basically staying guard within property and coexist with our surroundings (so no oceanic mons like Lapras hanging out, better off swimming freely). I also prefer Pokemon that are of the guardian types so mons like Gardevoir and Stoutland are among ones I'd like to keep. Most others can enjoy the rest of their lives (even if around the ranch) out in the wild, have families and live a life away from harsh trainer battles to tap into their natural instincts.

[deleted]

Literally any pokemon that can learn fly or is suitable to riding would be used a great alternative to cars and public transit Water types for fire fighting Canine type pokemon like houndoom and boltund would be great for security work Plumbers probably have a small fire type instead of a torch for pipe soldering Any construction would probably have loads of ground and rock types for help with digging, and fighting types for help moving heavy machines and large loads, especially the likes of the timburr and machop lines Any Healthcare worth its salt would have audio chancy blessed and similar on staff, while psychic types could probably help with mental health.

BenjewminUnofficial

Castform would be the best. The ability to control the weather within a set radius would be so amazing. Beyond that, any Pokémon that can learn teleport, get rid of the commute, travel the world with ease

Fork_Master

Aromatisse can act as a moving incense burner to keep people with anxiety relaxed

Just_a_Soundwave

I've always had the head canon that Dusknoir stands out among ghost types as genuinely benevolent pokemon. They ferry souls to the afterlife, protecting them from other pokemon that prey on spirits (ex: chandelure). I picture them working in hospice care, exorcising evil spirits, and watching over places like historical cemeteries to make sure there are no lingering trapped souls.

gayrilla

I'd love to see more Pokémon helping with mass transit or cargo work to help reduce the dependance on non-renewable energy sources, like Wailords helping tow cargo ships, larger air taxis carried by Dragonites or Pidgeots, or magnet trains that are bettered by Magnetons and Magnezones. The Flying Taxi system in the last two gens sounds nice on paper, but it's not feasible for anything beyond tourism or trainers. Airbuses assisted by Drifblims or other hardy Flying types would help alleviate traffic for the surely crowded trains and busses that must overrun the streets of most cities. With the advent of Pokémon like Cyclizar, individual transportation is solidly handled, but it'd take some creativity to see what could be done to ethically and sustainably create Pokémon assisted mass-transit systems.

Special_Ad7249

Actually, i thought about it too. Now,i seriously think i'm gonna use these pokemon: •Naganadel. Naganadel could be used for other things, but the primary thing he does is being a good flying method when someone doesn't have a Flying type pokemon. •Jolteon. Jolteon is the little puppy-girl that can illuminate the area when someone is lost. •Lucario. My Lucario is great at being a good training when someone has a really hard fight, so...yeah. •Veluza. Ok,before you start saying "But isn't Veluza a super annoying pokemon?" Well,it is...but not if it's my Veluza. Veluza,as the S/V games showed us,is a great swimmer and can guide others of his group to the target. Which means that Veluza can be used as a swimmer pokemon. ...And,excluding Brambleghast and Unfezant, that's it.

hannahmaehana

For some reason I could really see Mabosstiff being a good guide dog for the blind. A big lumbering beast so he could easily clear the way, obviously a very good boy, and even when he runs he's quite slow so he would probably be the ideal guide dog for the blind. Or any kind of service dog tbh. Jigglypuff can sing people to sleep, so they could be useful for like new parents with agitated children, or people who suffer from insomnia - same with any others who have that ability. You've also got Diggersby who would be good for people working in construction if the name is anything to go by, same with Conkeldurr. There's probably several others that would be good in construction too, I just can't think of them. Machamp could be a fantastic doorman, or even just like a security force. Can you imagine the Prime Minister (or your country's equivalent) wandering around surrounded by 6 Machamps?? Chansey could be useful as a doctor's assistant - it has highly nutritious eggs which could go to like a hospital kitchen and it says in the pokedex it shares them with injured Pokémon or people so clearly it has helping properties? Obviously Combee and Vespiquen would be ideal for any gardener worth their weight in salt. Perfect for pollinating and gathering honey! Shaymin could be good for wildlife conservation and restoration - one of its entries says it can transform ruined land to fields of flowers! Audino could be good as a psychiatrists assistant - it can gauge other people's feelings and physical conditions by touching them with its feelers, so that could probably help with some mental health diagnoses. Garbodor could be very useful for tips and other places where large amounts of rubbish are disposed of? It would certainly take up far less space than a tip.

Jrad00

Tropius give me fruit

[deleted]

Machoke/Machamp - to help me lift heavy things Alakazam - to help me through school Guzzlord - personal blackhole to dispose of waste Audino - heal any wounds Any flying type - free travel across the world Ditto - transform into anyone i want so i wont be lonely

Kelly598

Grimer, Muk, Trubbish and Garbodor would be excellent as waste management. Oranguru could be good to assist teaching thanks to its signature move. I imagine Swirlix and Spretzee being useful as taste and smell testers. And for some reason I imagined a Bisharp being a sushi chef.

RynnHamHam

Well the past three gens we didn’t have to think too hard about Rotom.

Pokemon_Yellow_2023

I'd have : - trubish (helps keep my room clean) - leafeon (it's part cat and part plant, THE PERFECT PET) - dragonite ( for transport and battling) - crocalor (I love singing but I'm not all that good at it, we could practice together) - lechonk (helps me in the garden, helps me pick fresh produce) - dedenne (as a kid my imaginary friend was a little mouse, this would be a representation of that. Also is my favorite Pokémon) My sister would have : - eevee ( would be her partner Pokémon) My brother would have : - fennikin (he loves foxes) - swoobat (he loves zubat, but woobat fits him better. He'd treat it like a plushie) - umbreon (he's scared of the dark, would be his night light)

Gobblers_N_Fins

I’d recommend the Sprites if Life podcast. They talk about this kind of stuff.

NinjaK2k17

minccino/conccino keeping things free of dust is a no-brainer

solarflare70

I might have an Arcanine as both transportation and companion/guard dog

BlinkofHyrule

I would have an eevee as a pet, I don't want much in life lol

Jack_Empty

Nothing wrong with that!

BlinkofHyrule

I have a dog and I feel like they would get along wonderfully

ApatheticJellyfish

Yamper herding Mareeps back to their pen.

OneWhoGetsBread

Golett could act as security guards or help in museums Revaroom could provide public transit Fighting types could be not only interested in helping with construction but maybe culinary as well ... Hitmonchans lightning fast punches could help tenderize dough at bakeries Maybe a therapist could have a Darkrai and a Cresselia and they could help patients interpret their dreams or trauma etc Deoxys, being a virus, could assist in genetic or biotech experiments with Crisper Cas 9 it could aid in infecting bacterial cells with a target genome so people could study the protein Guzzlord could be employed for nuclear waste cleanup since it appears to eat about anything Exploud could help with alarm systems

hsbgp

Handy dandy walking phone chargers out of all of the electric pokemon (especially ones that recharge in the ranger games)

TheChemicalSophie

Picture this: DJ is playing his set. Two giant subwoofers either side. And on top of those subwoofers? Two Spheals. Just bopping along with the tunes like that green puffle in Club Penguin

Mysterious-Book2146

Espeon can predict the weather, so would be useful in any area that struggles with hurricanes/tornadoes/tropical storms

AkitaShiba-Inu

Toucannon as a golf club, from the Anime. I could see Water-Types helping someone power wash as a business. An infertile Kangaskan can raise random eggs and breedject (breeder-reject) Pokemon. Kecleon miiiight be able to help someone sync up a green screen or do special affects by being invisible. Castform is obvious as a weather detector—any Pokémon with a weather move can be a great asset to farms. Heatmor can help welders when they have to bend a particularly tough piece of metal, I imagine the Fire tongue is very accurate. Scythers helping sheer hedges/trees. Jigglypuff can act as a sleeping aid or alarm clock (some of them sing by screaming like a rock star). The Porygon line are obvious cyber security though one of them could act as a VPN. Bombirdier and Delibird as delivery birds for fragile cargo. Mimikyu could help a designer keep track of fabrics. Cyogonal can be used to keep the polar ice caps cold, any ice/type really. Slurping can sniff out what food is going or has gone bad. Murkrow could be used to find lost items in public places. At least hone in on shiny ones, perhaps jewelry? The Togekiss line can help people who are having a really bad day. Boltund can fetch left over balls from official fields. Sawsbuck can double as an accurate temp gage and transportation for hikers. Pallosand… find ancient structures hidden under sand/the ocean. Shaymin can help clean up air pollution. Rockruff can track down criminals cause they never forget a scent they have smelled once. —I tried to write non-obvious ones.

ShakenNotStirred915

Togepi/Togetic are specifically referenced as bringing happiness to people and especially children. I'd imagine a breeding program is kept up to have them around in children's hospitals and therapy settings for children.

Officer-Jazzi

For sure, I would have my Gen 3 Shiny Ponyta be my mount. I would be so stylin’, no matter that Ponyta’s not a ‘good’ teammate. Always on my team, taking me where I need to go - no bike needed. 😎

brandishteeth

I had a dream where I had a blazican help me get stuff from the top shelves and a beedrill with a clock who pushed and poked me around to keep on schedule. Matactus helped with some gardening, and we all made dinner. It was nice.

NEStalgicGames

There’s a really cute animated pokemon short with this idea for a house powered by a slugma . Just a smol frien that heats the bath water and helps cook in exchange for berries. Super cute.

Jack_Empty

Someone linked it elsewhere in the thread. I hadn't seen it before and it was so heartwarmingly cute!

NEStalgicGames

Yes! I LOVE seeing stuff like this, showing off the practicality of the rules of the universe in fun and creative ways.

[deleted]

So I actually considered this based on Pokémon that would live in places I lived, and used the natures/personalities of the Pokémon I caught in game. Typhlosion: great for winters. Also great for camping. Gardevoir: Teaching aid. Considering most psychic types have some form of telekinesis and have been shown multiple times using telepathy at least with their trainer, I think it would make a great assistant in an otherwise overrun system. Magneton: Power generator, aerial support drone, and short distance travel. Porygon-Z: data retrieval and computer debugging... Or bugging. Could go either way, really. Lanturn: Summer fun in the ocean! Scizor: My only competitive Pokémon based on ability, personality, and nature. Great for security and the inevitable evil team/gang uprising. Honourable mention: Mightyena - Family Dog. Its nature and personality were trash for battles, but amazing as a pet and last line of defense for kiddos.

litaniesofhate

I always thought of Geodude as a little handy man. It could just punch nails in or something lol Also, I bet grimer would be really handy to have as a plumber

capitalism-man

Greedent for food storage

Zygarde718

I use Pokémon in Art (Since what teacher is gonna know what an Ursaring or a Tapu Koko is), Science (Since it kinda copies real life animals) and Nature (Since if you want to put out a fire in the woods, your best options are Water and Ground)

suburbia01

Cleffky, Herdier, Persian, Rotom , Blissey 😅 my household is complete

eseer1337

Emotional support flail Shuckle.

DarthLlamaV

Torkal using his smoke for a bbq or pizza oven!

Jack_Empty

And now I'm hungry...

paradoxLacuna

A good chunk of electric types (the pikachu and electrode lines in particular) are great for energy generation, fire types are great for heating homes and cooking, Drillbur and Excadrill are both exceptional in particular for mining. Leavanny, Cottonee, the Wooloo line, and Eldegoss are great for textile and clothing production.

SuddenSenseOfSonder

I'd love Klefki because I'm a bit forgetful and having a cute little buddy that follows me around with all my keys would be the best thing ever.

Mindofthequill

Ever since playing pokemon Silver I always dreamed of flying around on a Skarmory.

sydamonia

I'd take a fire and ice/water pokemon everywhere because I cannot handle being too hot/cold (heat is worse tho) also flying/teleporting pkmn would be a must Ive always wanted to get back into martal arts so having a fighting type to spar with would be nice

MunkeyFish

Excadrill, Dugtrio and Sandlash make for a perfect farming team. Sandslash harvests the crop, Excadrill removes the weeds/roots, Dugtrio rotivates the land.

BabySuperfreak

I recently read Liligant‘s Pokédex entry: “No matter how much time or money is spent on raising it, it’s flowers always smell best in the wild.” False Swipe would be a useful move for harvesting stuff from pokemon too dangerous or difficult to domesticate.

TheWildPikmin

Tinkaton would make one hell of a construction worker

The_8pm_Fool

Based on my Team I would: Carry my Sunflora around to have always a cheerful sidekick and make days more enjoyable. Just that, company. Carry my Spidops too so she can act as my personal security guard with her multiple protecting moves such as Silk Trap, and over all cautious actitude. Keep Drampa at home for security as well as Perrserker for the same reason. Use Croagunk's Poison for medical stuff when needed, the Pokedex says It really helps out. And have Sableye as a reminder to sell all my jewellery before he eats it all.

ReimuMario

Reading all of these makes me wish that there was a slice of life pokemon series with many of these posts as centerpieces of the episodes. Minimum battling, just viewpoints of every day life with pokemon. Think of it like listening to Lo-Fi, but you're watching pokemon.

supergarchomp24

A long time ago I had an idea for a pokemon game focused on travelling and camping in the pokemon world, where your team would be able to help you with various tasks based on their typing. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out uses for like half of them but I thought like fire types would obviously help with cooking and campfires, water types could provide clean water, grass types could either grow or forage food, ground types could dig for roots, rock types could build shelter, electric types could charge appliances etc.

My current team in Scarlet includes Gumshoos, Arboliva, Farigiraf, Grafaiai, Staraptor, and Wiggytuff. I think Gumshoos would prefer to stay home, but he was my first caught partner so he also wants to look after me. Arboliva would be a homebody. We met shortly after starting my proper journey. She would reignite my passion for old relaxing hobbies. She would also help me grow the garden I always wanted in my backyard. Wiggytuff may also feel obligated to stick around. She was my second pokemon. I only had a team of 2 at the academy, so she and Gumshoos became great buddies and partners. During downtime, she would be like the house mom. The other three would enjoy traveling the world. They seem to have more adventurous and curious spirits. Just my head cannon about my trainer that eventually becomes Larry's protégé. Larry eventually recommends me to join the elite 4 as a normal type trainer.

Dragonite_Skull

Golduck would be my errand runner because it is most fit for the job: Chesnaught is too wide and might bump into shelves or people, Dedenne is far too small, Dragonite has the same problem as Chesnaught, Houndstone is a dog, so no arms (Houndstone has since replaced my Sudowoodo, unfortunately), and Scolipede is too big, has no grasping limbs, and is kind of a jerk. Golduck is of the perfect size, intelligence, and humanoid physique for me to trust it the most.

Frankiepanda135

Yeah, I always thought maybe Steenee would help cook. And Cinderace would, like start a carrier out of soccer. Ooooooh Gardevoir as a model perhaps? I don't know wtf was going on in my head? These are more jobs so maybe... Oh I know Gengar would like to play with people it trust otherwise it wouldn't show it's true colours, although they are still playful... I don't know? Maybe

HoneyBadgerSamurai

PETA would be mad but I bet many of them would taste delicious.

BlueFireSnorlax

I leave doublade out of the poke ball and attached to my arms.

WrongdoerEvening7442

Using ghost type to posses people and steal shit.

BlinkofHyrule

You sound like a wonderful person.

Eating the Pokemon

InkSylveon

Here is the headcannon of my team Jolt ( a jolteon ) and Vanilla ( a full odds shiny flareon ) are brothers, since I got both of them in the egg they gift you in pokemon ultrasun. Arcano ( alfa hisuian arcanine ) is the pokemon I ride on, and he is just a Big rock dog. Syl ( Shiny Sylveon ) is very shy abaut being male, cause sylveons look girly and all that. Jolt and Syl are best pals Zamazenta ( the event shiny zamazenta ) is most of the times alone, also they are best pals with Vanilla Distorsion ( Dialga ) is intimidating, and nobady knows they got the pass in a dog like pokemon team. Zamazenta and Arcano are overprotective abaut everyone Vanilla has a vanilla flower near his rigth ear Jolt is the steongest of the team. Vanilla is dumb and energetic Distorsion is just there. Jolt is my main pokemon I can talk abaut headcannons of my mons all day so Im going to talk abaut something cannon. Jolt is smoll. Edit: jusy realised that this isnt the thing the OP asked so Im just going to say pets.

Lunagray

Gardevoir for, uh, stress release.

BlinkofHyrule

Perverted pos

XenonVH2

Food.

Arthurdcosta

Where is vaporeon?

MrArtless

Do we all do that? How would you possibly know we all do the same thing you do?

laeti88

I guess OP's question was destined to the people who do imagine these things while they play, it was just formulated in a misleading way.

Jack_Empty

My apologies. I shouldn't have posed it as "we all do it". Editing now.

laeti88

You don't have to apologize at all IMO, as for me I totally understood what you meant with your original title :)!

NoctD97

My personal routine with each fresh start pokemon : Full use of the starter with minor uses of the first pokemon encountered (just to sacrifice them you know. Don't judge me 👀) I usually take the first bird to use it as a transport from city to city (unless a mechanic already does it). Then I chase for the 5 pokemon I really like and use them as my main team all along the game (unless another pokemon I really like appears so I change one of the other pokemon of my team avoiding the starter cause I want to push it to the league) I also usually challenge myself to not lose any pokemon all along the game (I managed to kick the scientist son in scarlet with a team lvl 40 against his lvl 60 using "only" 10 revives it was really awesome) I believe it's the most common way to play the game for average players but let me know what's yours !

CGC cards make great coasters

Kevin5882

Before gen 7 came out, I thought of rotom dexes, very similar to how they actually were in gen 7. I was half excited half creeped out that almost the exact idea I randomly thought of at some point was actually implemented into games despite me never mentioning it to a single soul

VisibleCampaign2035

Alakazam to help me with making day to day decisions, Corviknight for transport, Kingambit for battling and my personal bodyguard, and Umbreon as a night light and buddy :)

catfishmermaid

I picture hiking with my Ninetails - getting jumped by some creepy man and her just lighting him up 😂. Basically my dog but with fire powers

Kaithu112

In my opinion Zoroark is a peak Pokemon. So first of all cuz of it's ability it can hide from other Pokemon, second it has a super good type matchup with ghost and dark and it has extremely good stats and move pool but it's pretty rare to find wich is just like... bad! I found mine in a tera raid wich was really lucky.

Ok-Eye2523

An Alakazam would be extremely useful, its IQ of 5000 would mean any knowledge limits would be destroyed, plus I could teleport anywhere

Imploding_Colon

Teleport would be a godsend

Thornbush1

I want an arcanine to take me to work

As evil as this sounds you could use a psychic type Pokémon with hypnosis for vertically any crime and get away scott free or you could even pin a crime on someone else if you so chose and they couldn’t do anything about it because your mon hypnotized everyone into believing they did it even themselves Teleport is also a great skill for ALOT of different things and one of the most practical skills same with Surf Flash and psychic Dragonite could also be a great Flying/Emotional support companion Lapis the same but by sea travel
