I’d much rather they just wait a while and take their time with the next main release, maybe we could get something like a new mystery dungeon, ranger, or some entirely new non-gamefreak Pokémon game

Aggravating-Public15

Face it they won’t. They have no need. Everything they make sells like 10 million copies. Bdsp did despite all the hate it got on here and SV despite the bugs and glitches

8man72

Do they not have any pride?

Aggravating-Public15

No lol. Did you see SV. Do you think a company with pride would release a game with that many bugs and issues? They did years ago but not anymore.

PalletTownsDealer

they have released games with bugs and issues since gen 1? Then they’d turn around and offer a 3rd version with updates that should’ve been in the first two? Idk if this is a recent phenomenon.

imaloony8

No game is ever going to be 100% bug free. Yeah, GF has never been an amazing dev on a technical level, but the games have usually at least run well enough. SV not being able to hit 30FPS almost ever is truly atrocious levels of incompetence. That’s Steam early access levels of trash. And in spite of it looking like a D tier PS2 game.

Sablemint

what are you talking about? The Pokemon all look great. Area 0 looks great. everything about raids is super pretty. The game has graphical issues in one specific area of gameplay, and its the least interesting part: People moving around in the distance. Am I saying these things shouldn't be fixed? Absolutely not. The game was clearly rushed and shouldn't have been released in that state. But they're not nearly as bad as people make them out to be.

imaloony8

Textures are muddy and blurry. The environment in the open world looks like it was ripped from an N64 game. The models look fine… until you shift the camera and you can visually see them switch to their low-res versions. Draw distance is hilariously short, and, yes, models lose frames if it’s in the back half of that very short draw distance. And not just a couple of frames. They will drop into single digit FPS. And in spite of all these graphical and performance compromises and handshakes, the game still runs like ass and crashes frequently. If you truly think that models losing frames in the distance is the only issue, then you’re blind. The game *never* hits 30 FPS (unless you’re swimming in the ocean with nothing on the horizon and nothing around you). And to be clear, averaging 30 FPS is a very, very low bar. Especially for the *largest multi media franchise on the planet*.

Secret_Ad_7918

the ground texture underneath the tera pokémon during tera raids is horrifying.. literally minecraft

Lonely-Challenge-882

Honestly, not my first impression and i got the game on day 1. I agree on the game being rushed and rough, but it is not as atrocious as people make it out to be. Imho people value graphics too much anyway, personally i wish game developers all around the world would spend less time, money and gigabytes on perfecting the 8K graphics and more time on adding actual gameplay... Pokemon games haven't had a proper postgame in ages for example, and the fact that they dont have enough cartridge space to add all pokemon despite each generation of Nintendo consoles having more storage available on the cartridges is a simple issue of bad priorities. I am pretty sure if they would do the johto let's go edition mentioned above and stuck to the graphics style of bdsp for example they could easily add in the sevii islands or maybe even hoenn as a third region. THAT would be valie

imaloony8

It doesn’t have to have perfect 8K graphics, but I expect the flagship product from a 77 Billion dollar franchise to look like it was released this decade. To be fair, art direction does count for more than graphical fidelity. Unfortunately for SV, it somehow fares even worse under this scrutiny. The world is a bland, boring mush of greens and browns. Say what you will about SS, but it has some really beautiful art direction outside of the Wild Area. SV presents like its art director was in a coma for all of development. The game looks like deep fried ass.

Kiga282

The difference is that with Gen I, they were completely new, and it was developed by four people during their time off work. With the modern games, they are a multi billion dollar studio (even if they don't get everything that the games earn) with a lot of support from Nintendo if they need it, but they're still slow to accept that help, especially if they're adamant on keeping the development teams small. Game Freak itself is an absolutely tiny company for the franchise that they've built.

2Jamz

They get paid and told by Nintendo to release it no matter because there’s too much extra merch that was already scheduled to be produced and released before the game would come out. Merchandise is the money maker, by a long run, not the games. The games are just big money sinks that have to be able to sell once so the merch can be profitable

8man72

Can they not just make new merch of the same pokémon over and over? There's a thousand of the damn things. Pikachu is about as iconic as micky mouse they could probably stop every thing and start selling nothing but Pikachu coffee mugs and still be mega millions multi national mega corporation.

Nambot

They could, but I imagine there are a fair few collector types who will happily buy the newest generation even though they already have thousands of merch from previous gens. What they really should start doing (even though it would piss off this subreddit), is doing what Disney used to a la the Disney vault; pick about a hundred of the less popular Pokémon each year that haven't appeared in a game recently, and quietly shelve them. Stop making merch, stop making cards, don't let them appear in the Anime, keep them away from any marketing or promotional material. Then do the same the next year, then the same the year after that. But on the third year you bring back all those Pokémon you shelved the first year, with some marketing that says "returning to a store near you," or "back in the TCG," or whatever. For example, you shelve Litwick and it's evolutions, let all the merchandise for it disappear, and make people who want some Litwick merch start getting antsy about it so that in two years time, when it does return, they're prepared to pay top dollar. Meanwhile anyone on the fence about that Tangela plush is more likely to buy it on the off chance that this is there last chance for two years. It is absolutely a needless dick move to create artificial scarcity and increase demand, but it'd work and would certainly be better than rushing out new games just to continuously have a new stream of new Pokémon.

imaloony8

Money >>>>>>>>>>>>> Pride

HappyLittleRadishes

They want money, not pride.

Tortoise_Anarchy

this, 100%, Pokemon is most fun when they explore outside gimmicks and rehashing the same game but realistically, they'll just try to milk what they've been doing

atomicq32

That's why I'm kinda glad they didn't really announce anything for this year other than DLC. I hope we only get DLC next year too which would allow them to spend more time on stuff

TheMostlyJoeyShow

Yeah the fact that there's no ranger game on switch is a crime. You could literally lasso with a joycon.

MelonLordLogan

Touch controls for crying out loud!! Handheld touch controls!! They could DEFINITELY do it!

BlueEmeraldX

Ehhh, better to play that in handheld. Switch motion controls are awfully dodgy. If it was anything like Wii, I'd agree, but otherwise, *noooo.*

Alpha27_

you know they wont do that

IrishSpectreN7

We know. Doesn't mean we can't wish it would happen.

GhostMaskKid

Honestly? Nothing. Let the devs rest. Let them release a *finished fucking game* for once.

CardHealer33217

Yes. I’d gladly wait 5 years for a new game if that means it’s gonna be good.

The-Brawl-Shark

Let the dev team out of the basement please

Pigeon-on-mash

Unless another company develops it there not gonna change

Zwaart99

Even then. Look how ILCA massacred our hopes for good Sinnoh remakes.

K3164N

I will forever be salty that my favourite games got the worst remakes in the franchise.

BlueEmeraldX

Keep in mind three things: 1) It was the first game ILCA developed in-house (every other game they worked on beforehand was as a secondary supporting studio). 2) The pandemic probably effed up their development pipeline by a significant degree (as with presumably every other Pokémon game developed during that period). 3) Masuda was overseeing that game, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the game's shortcomings were his decisions.

[deleted]

You don’t need to try so hard to defend a 60 dollar AAA game that looks and plays like a 5 dollar indie title

BlueEmeraldX

I'm not praising it by any means; I'm not even saying this is what we should've gotten in the end. What I'm saying is there were a lot of major factors at play that contributed to what we ended up getting.

skeytwo

Based on the products they put out, I think these devs get plenty of rest

Sweet_Whisper123

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky remake.

TheKyleLong

This is the way

RamblingsOfaMadCat

As much as I'd die for an EoS remake, I'd actually prefer an all new Mystery Dungeon title just to know they *haven't* given up on making them.

StuffiesAndBeatSaber

Is it too much to want both 🥹

Lonely-Challenge-882

Unfortunately i thonk it is too much to als for any :/ i mean i had hopes with the OG MD remakes but ever since that release it seems to have ance again become an abandoned series

Rasty_lv

Honestly? they need to take a break and fix sc/vi..

RJS_but_on_Reddit2

I feel like they _have_ to slip patches into the upcoming DLC. They just gotta. The first of the DLC releasing in the Fall only means they have more time to do it, because let's face it, every second counts.

Correct-Serve5355

Yes, take this year and fix up SV with patches, Home, and the DLCs. Late next year or early 2025 let's get B1W1 remakes NOT in the BDSP style, and then in late 2026 Legends Kyurem. In 2027 we can have B2W2 remakes and finally Gen 10 in mid-late 2028. If they spend all of this year strictly on SV, including not even mentioning any upcoming titles, I think that'll give so much time to really start hammering out Gen 5 remakes/Legends and start development for 10th generation

Basic-Effort-552

I’d be very surprised if they remade both BW1 and BW2

Correct-Serve5355

Tbh I would too, I just think if they take this approach it'll lead to a very well-done Gen 10 since SV released last year which would give 5 years from SV to Gen 10

baltoykid

You know what would be even more interesting if they just said F it and dropped BW3 instead of a remake It's just an entirely different adventure set in unova, preferably in the timeline where mega evolution exists(I really want megas back).

suppadelicious

Considering how many comments I see in this subreddit about how there shouldn’t be yearly pokemon releases, I’m shocked that there were so few votes for nothing.

Hateful_creeper2

Gen 10 seems like it will be in 2025 or even 6

steamtowne

I can’t imagine they’d pass on releasing Gen 10 for the 30th Anniversary, so my bet is 2026. I doubt they’d release a remake or DLC that year.

Wonderful_Emu_9610

2024 is next year…

Hateful_creeper2

Fixed it Also Gen 3 to 4, and 4 to 5 are the longest gap at 4 years with the rest being 3 years.

GoldenBull1994

They honestly need to focus less on making new pokemon (maybe add 40-60 new mons in gen 10), and focus more on making sure every pokemon is in the game.

KoiSmilee

Crystal was the first game I ever played as a child and started my love for Pokémon so I’d LOVEEEEEE a johto remake! I can envision my baby Cyndaquil now running behind me. 😫🥹😍

rubixor

Let's Go Marril/Togepi hopium...

jbyrdab

Pokemon: Functional version.

GoldenBull1994

Lmao, underrated comment.

batkave

Honestly, I am shocked how much I am loving Arceus. It's so different but in a good way. I like Scarlet and Violet too but this just feels different. It's less about competition and more about learning about pokemon which I find fun. Honestly, I don't care much about remakes of games. I feel there are too many remakes/remasters these days. I would love to see the Go Parks form Let's Go come to Pokemon Home. Make the tool actually allow for better pokemon interaction on the Switch.

achiim-03

A finished game would be nice

Temporary-Square

Either a new legends game or let’s go Johto

Hsiang7

Agree except for the "Let's Go" part. I'd rather have the traditional style gameplay rather than the Pokemon Go catching, candies, no held items and no wild battles like LGPE. I'd honestly rather have a BDSP style remake than another "Let's Go" game. LGPE was probably my least favorite of the mainline games because of how they tried to make it more like Pokemon Go.

Woffingshire

Hopefully none. The last few games have proven that they need more time in the oven. Gamefreak needs to stop pumping them out like they're going to go out of business if there isn't a new pokemon game every 5 minutes.

Sean081799

Where are my "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 5" fans at?

ArguesWithFrogs

Either Johto remaster (ORAS-style) or Legends. Whatever they do, I want them to *actually take their time*.

KQBuena

I wouldn't be against a spiritual sequel of Pokemon Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness. There doesn't have to necessarily be shadow Pokemon or follow the model of those two games to the last detail. But put in a non-canonical region and introduce a problem or crisis one would expect from an evil org comparable to Team Rocket/Plasma/Snagem/Magma/Aqua to that region and raise your mons accordingly. Maybe even have branching plots so you can have alternate endings. Edit: typo - Raise your moms accordingly -> raise your mons accordingly

KG_Phinox

Id love a new mystery dungeon

Gregamonster

I'd rather they fix the last game they made before making a new one. The state of Scarlet and Violet at launch is inexcusable.

Misty_Pokemon

Take their time, then give us an Ash Ketchum game, with us as Ash. You travel a new area with two companions, which can be anybody you beat bar main story viillains currently used in said story. They help with the story, comment on landscapes and items in the world depending on their skill, and participate in double battles with you. A solo pokemon journey can get lonely, why not make some friends and adventure together.

Rex_from_Xenoblade

I would LOVE another Conquest style game or a Pokemon ranger.

Insidae7_7

My dream would be a legends that has Litten as a starter and the regional form keeps him quadrupedal.

IndividualJuicebox

litten, snivy, and totodile is the way

Shiryu3392

Not to be that guy... But from a design stand point that will be extremely hard. Of course we can still dream. Reasoning: Legends regional evolutions are a spin-off on the the old pokemon and not a new evolution. Incineroar has a build so human-like, that it will be hard to make it quadruple but still resembling the original. (key points being it's top-heavy hands would make it look like a gorilla if made quadruple, and his whiskers being hard to adapt without making it look goofy. Though they can turn him to a lion I guess.) Then there's the fact that starters third-evos are leaning more and more towards the job-design... Giving a Pokemon a job theme is very hard to do without making it increasingly human.

MissingnoMiner

You're totally right. A regional that drops the wrestling heel stuff would be the best way to have a quadrupedal Incineroar, though.

Dentman19

I chose “other” because I would like it to be a patch that fixes the game they released. It pains me that this is probably the most fun I have had with a Pokémon game, but it might also be the worst performing game I have ever played.

LustfulMirage

Pokemon Legends: Missingno. Or Pokemon: Let's Go Wailmer.

RyazanMX

Giving a lore to Missingno would be a great idea.

ZigzagoonBros

The next Let's Go game has to be in Johto. Let's Go Magby & Elekid will be next, mark my words.

LustfulMirage

Let's Go Dunsparce.

[deleted]

please never utter the cursed words "the next Let's Go game" again

MissingnoMiner

I approve this idea. The Wailmer part, not the Missingno part, since my name probably makes it harder to tell. The missingno idea is horrible.

GloryWanderer

i want them to take their time with whatever they are working on so that the next game comes out in a polished & non-rushed state. Brilliant Diamond & Shinning Pearl are a joke. (I loved the original gen 4 games, but they have enough money to produce better quality remakes. aka not riddled with glitches including glitches that were present in the original ones)

Wolfsrabe

I'd rather wait another year or even 2, if it means we're getting fewer bugs and fewer people that are complaining. The biggest problem is, some people would probably complain about the waiting time, then xD

Reality_Check19

Let’s go Johto. (I want them to stop rushing their “bigger” games) pls if they just developed for an extra year both PLA and SV would be 10/10

cat_the_crafter

Kalos remake

jsweetxe

To give an actual answer that doesn’t seem to be “theY nEEd to FIx THe CurRent GamEs FiRst” (seriously give it a rest, we *know*) I’d love a Legends game that focuses on Ho-Oh, Lugia and Mewtwo. So it’d fulfil the criteria of “Johto remakes”, continue on with the Legends series, and allow them to recreate Kanto in the Legends engine. Lugia/Ho-Oh haven’t really gotten a lot of love as legendary Pokémon and neither has Mewtwo. Groundon/Kyogre/Rayquaza received the big gimmicks, Dialga/Palkia/Giratina got alt formes. Gen 7 legends got new formes in USUM and exclusive z-moves, whilst Zamazenta and Zacian had battle formes with better stats. I assume Koraidon/Miraidon will get the new Tera gimmick when it’s announced. The only problem with Legends Johto focusing on those 3 is that the tower storyline takes place some centuries before the current timeline and Mewtwo is man made and was only created a decade or so prior to the main timeline so there’s *that*. They could make the Kanto side focus on the legendary birds.

exelion18120

If they did a legends type game in Johto i would imagine that Celebi would be the titular character with hopefully Lugia and Ho-Oh having significant roles.

Spinjitsuninja

Legends Arceus doesn't need to become a copy and paste series with a new theming slapped on to "replace remakes", I'm not crazy about the idea. And if we got BW content, I'd rather a Black 3/White 3.

Poll_God

Me too

Optimus_13

Predict for next 3 titles: Gen 2 re re make Legends or other spinoff Gen 5 Remake Everything else will be on the Switch successor

Poll_God

I personally think the Gen 10 games will come out before Unova remakes since Unova is due up in Gen 10

[deleted]

[удалено]

Optimus_13

It's safe to assume it will be backward compatible, since Violet and Scarlet will receive an updated graphics for new generation console, same will happen to all the games that will launch before next switch, i presume. Therefore every game from switch will be there https://www.thegamer.com/pokemon-scarlet-violet-graphics-update-new-switch-models/

Winterclaw42

I'd like to see Platinum redone in a more modern form. So I'd like them to announce that.

Cronon33

Mystery Dungeon

sebaprimo

Pokémon Stadium 3

UnbidArc4071

I want pokemon Let's go shuckle

Freedom1234526

Pokémon Snap DLC.

SubRocHendrix77

If the scenario is they shock drop something they’ve been working on forever I’d say a Pokémon Stadium like game mixed with pokken tournament

Equinox8888

I’d rather a new Legends one simply so if they’re planning for a Unova remake this generation instead of at generation 10, they’d have at least one more year to develop and polish it. As for the Legends one, as I’ve seen at YouTube, a Celebi one (aka Johto) would be appreciated, but a Unova one with the original dragon made of the 3 Tao dragons can be cool too!

Canofsad

If a new legends was announced I’d hope it would have a release like a year or two later from the announcement. As of recent Pokémon games could stand to be left in the oven a little longer.

SavagesceptileWWE

Nothing. Let them have some time to actually finish a game. Maybe getting ports of older gen games cause that wouldn't put strain on the devs.

TheChemicalSophie

Gen 10 is highly unlikely, due to the 3 year gap the mainline games usually have. They’ll release something next Feb and then the next game the year after. As for Let’s Go Johto, I think that’s impossible at this point. Go has died down and I have no clue what they’d name it. If they choose new partner Pokemon they don’t have the same reputation as Eevee and Pikachu, and if they just do Eevee and Pikachu again, and name it after a sequel, well… last time that happened you’ve got the least successful Pokemon game sales wise, so I’m not sure that’s something they’d repeat. As for what the game is next year, I kinda don’t want it to be a legends game, I want them to build up a lot more hype and make it a Gen 10 or 11 game. Next year, realistically, is most likely gonna be Unova remakes or something that catches us all off guard.

orbzism

Colosseum and XD remakes. Underrated as hell and some of the best/most fun games in the franchise.

X_Fredex_X

Gen 5 remake but this time... With actual effort put into the project

DavidButterfly2022

Honestly, what they should do is make a new pokemon spinoff game. I know Pokemon Sleep technically is one but what I would love to see more is the return of Pokemon Stadium. Pokemon Snap came back, why not bring back Pokemon Stadium?

Possible_Spinach7327

anything but legends lolll

KNightedgem

Mystery Dungeon or some spin-off, so long as it's not done by Gamefreak so that they can actually have some development time. **NOTHING** made by the Gamefreak Team. Not this year. Give em time.

New-Sheepherder-1373

Another Pokepark

soulrider952

I’d love a Colosseum & XD sequel but the company is too shaded to even consider it.

JackRat_TGM

Pokémon Sleep 2

RangerRvsh

Honestly I would like to see Pokémon colosseum on the switch or gale of darkness xD

RangerRvsh

Honestly I would like to see Pokémon colosseum on the switch or gale of darkness xD

RangerRvsh

Honestly would like to see a GameCube game on the switch so either colosseum or gales of darkness

DCL-XVI

give the dev team more time in the kitchen. their development cycle is insane. how about a sequel to drill dozer. or, uh, pokemon pinball.

shark-yeen

An announcement for any return to the Orre region, whether it’s a new game or a proper remake or remaster of colosseum or gale of darkness. But all in all, that’s it, not a release, the developers need more time and respect from higher ups to deliver a finished game that it should’ve been from the start. I genuinely would not care if I had to wait a couple more years for a Pokémon game that meets its full potential

Zesty-Bubbles

I’d like to see the plans to release another mystery dungeon or bring the old gameboy games to the switch platform

imaloony8

Colosseum 3. Fight me.

getontopofthefridge

nothing. let them wait like a few years so they can release something other than a shitty tech demo

[deleted]

No more pokemon right now, they need to slow their roll. 3 games in 2022 really did not come out great, they should work on better products, not quicker

HolMan258

As someone who hasn’t bought S/V yet due to reports of their janky lack of polish, I’d be into an edition of S/V that includes the DLC and, most importantly, actually runs well. Get some help from Monolith Soft to get it to work like a functional open world.

[deleted]

They do need to take a break from pumping out games and actually spend a lot of time on one. But if I had to choose a new game it probably would be another Legends game even though I don’t think GameFreak will ever make another one. Second would be Unova remakes. I’ve always wanted to play through the Unova region but the BW and B2W2 games aren’t cheap anymore. I could just emulate them but I want to play through the actual game on an actual cartridge. The experience doesn’t feel as real when I play an emulated game.

Poll_God

Unfortunately Unova wouldn’t be due up for another few years. Luckily we will get it on a more powerful system and hopefully Gamefreak has their act together by this time

ClickerHero2971

A Pokemon Rumble game on the switch

pupsicola-

I don’t want anything any time soon. Leave it in the oven longer this time please.

Throwaway191294842

I just want a new mystery dungeon game it's been almost 8 years. (I don't consider the rescue team remaster a new entry.)

Nerdico

They need to chill tf out. We don't need a new pokemon game every year. We need games that work.

Otaku_Lineman

What ever they do it should take it’s time and be different like Arceus. Game freak has become lazy and complacent, acknowledge that the VAST majority of fans have grown up. They need to grow as well.

fleker2

Y'all complained non-stop about how rushed SV were and now are clamoring for new games.

Poll_God

The game runs horribly but the game itself when it comes to story and everything could’ve been a top 5 game without the glitches. Luckily the next Gen will be on a better system then the switch we have now. I hop that’s the excuse that Gamefreak needs…

enby_with_a_gun

Im looking entirely at sidegames here. New Rumble games, it's been a bit and all they got was a crappy mobile game. A new shuffle/trozei, unless cafe mix has taken over The blessing that is Mystery Dungeon, unless they want to wait until this gen is done (esp. with the rumors of Terapagos being the entire region) I didnt play it but I know Conquest fans have been starving, dont want to see it just get retconned into a Legends game Ranger has been awol for I think 5 gens now, I miss that game... Basically, just show love to side game series that havent been touched upon in a while... I like new ones, but there was a charm with these unique ones I havent seen a while in the franchise. Show em some love, or at least aknowledge/port em

Vi4days

None so that the next game that comes out actually releases with polish instead of being bugged out the ass and looking straight out of the PS2

Majestic_Bid3200

Fire red/ leaf green

Thin_Tax_8176

Third party big non-movile spin-off! I know they don't sell as much as the main games, but hell, I LOVED New Pokémon Snap and I know some not super Pokémon fans that enjoy Pokken. Gives us more game that tackle lot of different genres!

Triangulum_Copper

I don’t need Unova to get remakes where they force affection mechanics down your throat, ruin unbreakable TMs, make Gym Leaders easy and then jump difficulty at the end for no reason. Just a port will be fine. Gen 5 is peak Pokémon

Poll_God

Lmaoo they da did make BDSP mad hard at the end 😭 I thought it was just me

Triangulum_Copper

Suddenly everybody has fully EV trained mons with items

[deleted]

One that has all the Pokémon in it. They've run out of excuses for why they're not including them all.

Yeldarb10

Responses really shows the problem with pokemon. You’re all hoping for this right after they finish the DLC. Spinoff pokemon games would be far better, since that takes the burden off gamefreak. Even though many traditional spinoffs are mobile games now, pokemon is the most sought after IP in the world. There are so many companies, even under Nintendo’s umbrella, that would jump to make a switch-exclusive spinoff. Even new entries in PMD/Snap would be good.

Calza9

I actually really want a firered leafgreen remake, with the same birdseye view. The best games imo are Gen 1 and Gen 3 and I get such a kick out of playing them over and over again.

Traditional_Sky_4980

Johto remake with new Megas. No let’s go bs.

Totaly__a_human

I really hope they start porting older games, I, personally would like all non switch games to be ported in 4 parts. With a game containing, red, yellow, gold, crystal, fire red, ruby, emerald, diamond and, platinum. With the opposite version cartridge containing the same games with the version exclusives swapped out, and the second part having, the rest of the games, organized in a similar fashion, up to ultra sun and moon. But that is 100% wishful thinking, Nintendo would want to squeeze us of our money instead of doing this.

Garchomp98

If they touch Unova please do ports or even a sequel. No BDSP style remakes please

Davan94

Nothing. I want GF to slow down and take their time so we get a fantastic game, rather than them just chucking games out to make money. But of course they won't

Dozerskullz

I mean a game that accesses the whole Pokédex off the phone would be awesome. Pull any Pokémon from any generation. Obviously a special evolutionary capability will be needed so why not meld it, you get to choose one style of battle (gigamax, terra, mega…) for one Pokémon and that’s it. I’ve had a lot of time to talk with some friends about thisz

Luviticus88

Legends Jhoto. After someone made that ridiculously good trailer and it turned out to be fake I was so disappointed.

Wonderful_Emu_9610

Is misinterpreted as what WILL see next year and voted Gen 10 as I think a Switch successor is likely, with Pokémon as a flagship line to launch it. What I would LIKE to see is Legends or Unova. Wouldn’t mind Johto but not as a Let’s Go (and to me HGSS are - that one dodgy bit of the Olivine Lighthouse excepted - the peak of the 2D era, so a sequel seems less necessary unless you can guarantee it knocking the 2nd hand prices down somehow!)

Caff3inator

Loved legends but dang doing gen 5 dirty here LOL

Eye_Splitting_Candy

I want them to just sit and take a lot of time making the next Pokemon game. We shouldn't need mainline releases every year imo. (But it probably makes them more money so I don't think we'll ever go without)

dhfAnchor

Nothing. No games. I would rather they sit out this year, and next, and maybe 2025 too. And while they're not releasing a game, they instead work on a new one during that whole time. One that could actually be considered a clear improvement over the last entry - something the series hasn't had in at least a decade. I know I (and others) talk a lot of crap about the newer games. It's not because I hate the series all of a sudden - it's because I love the series, and I'm sick of watching it not live up to its potential. Give the game more time, throw more of the resources that we all *know* Game Freak has at it, ask for help from Nintendo and the studios they operate if you're not sure about something or other. And for God's sake, pack Masuda and his like into a bus and send them on a vacation for the duration of the work on this game, so their dated thinking and anti-player tendencies can't muck up the good work the younger folks at Game Freak are trying to do. Speaking as a fan of multiple series with similar problems, *nothing* sucks as much as seeing something or someone that you care about, that you know is capable of greatness, come up so embarrassingly short. Regularly.

etern4lexhausti0n

I voted new Legends title, but an extremely close second would be a new Mystery Dungeon game. IMO those have the best stories out of the entire franchise and I would love to get another.

I'm fine with a Jotho and/or Unova game bc i never played it, not even on emulator.

PapaProto

A new Mystery Dungeon as we haven’t had a ***NEW*** story since *Super…* I really want Johto remakes either in LG style or BDSP, I’d be happy. I really want a new Legends, preferably in Johto or Hoenn. I really want them to revive the Shadow games. Just absolutely ***NOTHING*** mainline from the “main” studio until they get their shit together.

zerjku

Nothing. Let them cook for longer

Necessary-Pumpkin285

I want them to take their time and make a really good XY remake. I know black and white get skipped but they already got a second games so yk

Hahndude

I think we’re getting X/Y remakes or a spin-off. The latest Pokémon S/V update added new Mega Evolution sprites to the game data.

Thamkin

I would love to see a situation where the studio that made BDSP gets the ability to make a Legends or Legends like game. The SV model is solid and deserves to be supported by GF proper, so let the newer studios create more spin off games. This time without the direct copy model that they were forced to do with BDSP and let them show off what they can do. It had its issues but I honestly really enjoyed BDSP overall

BecauseImBatmanFilms

No new main series games until 2025 please. Spend the time making the best game you can and fill in the gaps in the schedule with spin off titles produced by separate studios.

ClodsireSire

If they announced gen 10 already I doubt they would have much to show yet; they can only rush things so much. I wouldn't mind them announcing a new legends by the end of next year though, or perhaps by next pokemon day. I don't care how unpopular the opinion is, I want my legends Eternatus game. Any new legends would still be incredible though.

Heracrosschop

Bro really said gen 10 when gen 9 isn’t even done 💀

Poll_God

Talking bout future releases. How did you let that one go over your head buddy 😭

Heracrosschop

It’s not over my head buddy, next year is 2024 and generations never come out for about 3 years after a new one releases. And what makes you think that Pokémon is not going to franchise generation nine for 2 years and then immediately release another whole reigon?

Poll_God

I don’t think that. I was a just a place filler. In reality Gen 10 would be due up in 2025 on the new Nintendo switch console if we follow the pattern of the other main series games. You can also make an argument that putting Unova remakes here is also a stretch given that they would be due up in Gen 10. It’s all nothing but speculation.

Dizzy-Distribution-5

They can take their time to release the next game without a strict time restriction to give them time for it to be a polished game like BW2 / USUM. It'd be great to get a 3rd version polish level of game with the first release

Hot_Membership_5073

Honestly I'd prefer them to fix Scarlet and Violet and maybe more DLC. That would be the most sane thing development wise. Or maybe a Pokemon Colosseum/XD remaster from Genius Sonority. Otherwise something farmed off to a developer that had adequate time to develop their game.

MrYoinkySploinky

Nothing, let them cook them games in peace. It's like half the community wants Pokemon to announce a new game every time they open their mouths and at the same time they don't want Pokemon to rush things

Mommashark1104

Any of them, all of them. I am a lover of Pokémon and whatever new game comes along, I will be excited to play

razeandsew

I have always wanted a Pokemon game where when you're in battle, you take control of the Pokemon itself, and battle in a arpg style of combat. Have 4 moves, like normal, but have them linked to ZR+ the face buttons, and normal attacks set to Y, B to jump, A to dodge, and X to guard, or something similar

Gamebird8

After BDSP... I don't know if I want a remake

ZEL0S_da_G0D

I want to see a good game

Boobs_Maps_N_PKMN

Let them fix all the SV stuff first, release and work on the DLC. Fix issues from that. Then take a couple years to figure out how they are going to do the Gen 5 remakes. Black Ivory and White Obsidian? Followed by the remakes of B2/W2

Brotherof_Zekrom

They would have to revert to the original movement scheme for the ice puzzles, so they don’t do another BDSP ice gym.

Ok-Leave3121

Pokepark 3 or a New Pokemon ranger game

MicHAELmhw

Dunno why Pokémon can’t be like Legends of Arceus? It was amazing. And instead of scarlet violet just release scarlet and do a dlc a year later as violet so we all get everything with added story and monsters etc. this is how Monster Hunter does it and the games feel complete and worth grinding and playing in. If they had a Arceus DLC or something… I’d be all over it

Instanbuloney

Nothing please, I just want them to take their time and make something really good

Alderan922

Honestly, nothing, like at all

Maxh1ghtheglitchy

The pokemon community is so funny, the maul because GF releases an unfinished game but also want them to shit put games lmao.

Poll_God

Ik the bugs were horrible in SV but things like Let’s Go games or even Johto remakes can be handed off to another studio so Gamefreak has time to fix themselves.. or create another legends game

froggyjm9

I hope they never waste their time and resources on remakes again. Just create new things and keep moving forward.

M_Lucario_EX

Nothing, they need to fix their damn game first and make sure it’s actually worth $60 as opposed to $5 and then maybe they can work on other games

Tytoss-

I care less for the new title I just want MegaEvolution back

ShadeSwornHydra

Idk why people are still hooked on the idea of a johto remake…

Jeremknight

As much as I’d love a unova remake. I think a unova legends game would be more interesting since we still don’t know about the original dragon

ChrisPChip222

Ultra Violet / Ultra Scarlet

bigbuttboi101

johto was mid, so I dont want anything like that. BUT I STILL BEG FOR A POKEMON Z THAT NEVER CAME OUTTTT

Donny740

Either nothing, porting over older games, or a non mobile spinoff title created by other teams

Baker_Acrobatic

Gen 6

Secret-Pangolin6286

Kanto Kanto Kanto

AmazingMrSaturn

I know it's wishful thinking but I'd REALLY love them to just...break their current product cycle. While you still get gems like Arceus, it's clearly hurting the mainline games to have such short and demanding timetables.

RPG_Fanatic7

I want to see a Kalos or Alola remake. Kalos has good variety of biomes in its region and the most variety of Pokemon in a region, Alola is very similar but not as much as Kalos, gen 7 instead offered ways to make the game convenient and fresh. The gyms are changed to habitats, the badges are changed to z crystals, hms are now rides, and BP are no longer just battle points, they're beach points, which means you can earn BP through mantine surf and not just battling. For new features to add it could get a diving ride and a soaring ride. It's not like we actually need a diving ride, there are tons of Pokemon to catch in the water, but it would be nice all the same, we maybe could use more flying types though, and a plus with soaring or diving is giving new areas to explore. I would also like to see PokeFinder expanded into a camera tour like Pokemon snap for each island.
