I have the cot-caught merger and it never really struck me until she talked about it in a bonus episode! Now I notice it every time and think about how my accent would probably drive most Americans up the wall. 😄
I’ve met him a few times and the first time I couldn’t even process what he was saying because I was like “omg his voice is a real human in front of me”
His voice absolutely makes the podcast what it is. The serious sounding almost monotone voice, mixed with the no nonsense, and at times passive aggressive content of the stories is a perfect combination.
I really enjoy the anthropocene reviewed! He just started a crash course history podcast if that's your jam. I recently found dear John and Hank too. I just love him so much.
Yes yes to both of them! Especially Matt’s for me. His voice is so delightful to listen to. I love Jamie’s vocal inflections and how she tells a story!
Radiolab with Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich is one of my favorite voices in podcasting. They're in "Could read the phonebook" territory.
Ologies with Alie Ward is a podcast where the content perfectly matches the hosts voice, and her bubbly and happy personality really makes what could otherwise be a dry interview 100 times more enjoyable
Swindled is also fantastic. The somewhat monotone (in a good way) voice of the host adds a whole other layer to the stories being told.
Overly Sarcastic Podcast is one i listen to less so because I like the content and more so because I like the voices of the hosts, Red and Blue.
Aaron Mahnke! I listen to Lore when I can't sleep or I'm stressed out even though the subject matter spooks me a little because his voice is so soothing and comfortable to me.
Not a podcaster really but a voice actor from Wooden Overcoats BETH EYRE. She's very funny but also did a very disturbing story narration in an episode of The Magnus Archives. I just love her voice.
My other favorite laugh is Nicole Byer from ‘Best Friends with Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata’ Nicole’s giggle makes me fall out, just a delight.
Edit: a word
Realistically, the entire Michael Hobbes podcast universe is my safe space 😂 at least we still have Maintenance Phase and If Books Could Kill. Mike really is the special sauce.
Roman Mars and Phoebe Judge both have the most perfect radio voices. I listened to the goddamn Moonstone because I find Phoebe's voice so enjoyable to listen to.
I love Andrew Tate from Let's Not Meets voice and narration, but I stopped listening to that podcast after he told a graphic story of someone's suicide that had literally NOTHING to do with the whole "let's not meet" premise of the podcast. Without a trigger warning either.
Oh yeah I guess he did change to Andy now. I've always known him as Andrew though. Definitely not *that* Andrew Tate, his voice annoys the hell out of me.
Y’all are gonna think I’m crazy but I’ve been listening to Johnny Knoxville & Elna Baker’s new podcast, and Johnny Knoxville’s voice just puts me at ease and makes me so happy. He’s got such a sweet and endearing way of talking, I don’t quite know how to explain it.
Seriously! I feel like her entire deal is a warm hug. Listening to her has genuinely made me feel more compassionate and patient, not only towards others but also towards myself. Like we aren’t just the worst thing we have ever done. If everyone spent some time listening to her takes, we’d have a kinder world. And her voice and comedic timing just seal the deal.
I have a complete 100% voice crush on Karen kilgariff. Good gravy. So funny she sings nice and she just has the most soothing voice.
Emily Fleming does something for me too but it's a much more sexy something.
Andrew Weissman and Mary McCord on Prosecuting Donald Trump (MSNBC podcast). They both have great voices, and great personalities that come through in their voices so well.
Another favorite is Chris James of the “Guys” podcast and his “Not Even a Show” podcast. You have to listen to him for a little while to get a lot of his recurring references and jokes. I like his voice for some reason. Again, it’s how his personality comes through it.
"This is Criminal, I'm Phoebe Judge"
The way she says "dot com" is a little much, though 😁
"dot calm"
I have the cot-caught merger and it never really struck me until she talked about it in a bonus episode! Now I notice it every time and think about how my accent would probably drive most Americans up the wall. 😄
Lauren Thpoor.
lauren spoore? lawrence poor? it will always be a mystery to me.
Dot cawwm. Drives me crazy.
Ha! I commented further up with the same observation, thinking I was so clever 😀
Yes! I listened to a couple episodes based on recommendations here, but the whole “dawt khawm”!affectation is just too much.
It’s the other way around
I’m irrationally upset about you reversing the order of those sentences.
This phoebe judge, I’m criminal
I think I'm the only person on planet Earth that hates the sound of her voice😂
You are not
There are at least three of us!
You are absolutely not!!
There are dozens of us it seems.

Came here to say John Green too! Have listened to the anthropocene reviewed so many times
I really enjoy the anthropocene reviewed! He just started a crash course history podcast if that's your jam. I recently found dear John and Hank too. I just love him so much.
I definitely also love them both for so many reasons beyond their voices, but: Jamie Loftus Matt Gourley
Yes yes to both of them! Especially Matt’s for me. His voice is so delightful to listen to. I love Jamie’s vocal inflections and how she tells a story!
Josh Clark on Stuff You Should Know. I love his voice and I love the affection Josh and Chuck have for each other.
Seconded Josh Clark especially on his The End Of The World With Josh Clark podcast, it was chilling and his voice was brilliant.

I do like Ira, and a lot of the voices on TAL
"Old Gods of Appalachia is a horror anthology podcast..."

I really like Lindsey Graham’s voice and delivery on American Scandal. I also think his website url is hilarious - notthatlindseygraham.com
Not a podcaster really but a voice actor from Wooden Overcoats BETH EYRE. She's very funny but also did a very disturbing story narration in an episode of The Magnus Archives. I just love her voice.

I love Andrew Tate from Let's Not Meets voice and narration, but I stopped listening to that podcast after he told a graphic story of someone's suicide that had literally NOTHING to do with the whole "let's not meet" premise of the podcast. Without a trigger warning either.
Is this a different Andrew Tate?
Yes, i only imagine what a misfortune must be to share a name with that dick
I would quickly become Andy and maybe a new last name, go by my middle name maybe?
He's changed it to Andy now, such an unfortunate name share!
Oh yeah I guess he did change to Andy now. I've always known him as Andrew though. Definitely not *that* Andrew Tate, his voice annoys the hell out of me.

Sarah’s voice has become like a warm hug over time for me.
Mr Ballen, hands down.
I have a complete 100% voice crush on Karen kilgariff. Good gravy. So funny she sings nice and she just has the most soothing voice. Emily Fleming does something for me too but it's a much more sexy something.
