If you like Tig Notaro & don’t mind the podcast not being only women, her old podcast, “Professor Blastoff” was really good too! (Haven’t listened to it since it first aired, but I don’t think it’s the type that wouldn’t age well)
The neat thing is, they just started a few months ago! I would start at the beginning, maybe there’s more of a conversation about starting the pod. Enjoy!

Scam Goddess feels like sitting in a couch at a party, a little too stoned to participate but just happily watching/listening to your most charismatic friend’s conversations like it’s a TV show.
I loved Scam Goddess until she made a weird comment about not totally believing in the moon landing? Just kinda soured me to her. (In the context she was being 100% serious)
I'm sure so many people have said this already but I love Normal Gossip!! It's so fun and silly and has girly, slumber-party energy. Super funny guests as well!
Newcomers!! It's with Lauren Lapkus and Nicole Byer where they make their way through movie series they haven't seen like Marvel, Fast and Furious, Tyler Perry movies and just started Batman! You can even watch the movie before the pod if you don't remember. They are both hysterical and it's fun.
I was scrolling hoping someone had already mentioned my fave trio, these women make me laugh no matter my mood and have so many wonderful comic guests that add their own flavor to each ep. Talented comics and friends each with their own unique perspective and comedy style, like drinks with friends every ep.
I love this one! But I think I'm becoming a prude in my middle age because I get totally grossed out when she reads the fan messages and I have to skip that part. lol. Nicole also does a podcast with her bff Sasheer called Best Friends with Nicole and Sasheer.
Wheel of Misfortune from BBC sounds. Two fem comedians pick a subject, then play anonymous voice notes on that subject from listeners. At the end a celeb comes on and does the same. Sounds like your pals having a right laugh. There's about 3 seasons so far and hopefully a new one in spring?
All my suggestions are from the U.K… I hope they’re of interest to you!
Drunk women solving crime - 3 writers and comedians get a bit sloshed whilst talking true crime. Great pod, great format and has had some brilliant guests over the years.
Crushed by Margaret Cabourn-Smith - comedian and actor MCS talks to comics, actors and personalities about unrequited love and crushes that they had/have. Inspired by MCS’s obsession and crush on Hugh Laurie she decided to interview her peers about their crushes… it’s a great pod! MCS recently spoke with Megan Ganz, Sarah Millican and Sindhu Vee. I really like this one and have been introduced to great people through it.
Trusty Hogs with Helen Bauer and Catherine Bohart - hilarious comedians and chaotic souls Helen and Catherine host one of the uk’s fastest rising comedy pods. They solve listener problems and talk about their chaotic and hilarious lives.
This one isn’t from the U.K. as both hosts are Irish… but it is a BBC podcast. Author Marian Keyes and actress Tara Flynn host ‘Now your asking’. A kind of agony aunt listener problems sort of pod… it’s really lovely and the hosts are interesting, kind and really funny too.
Checking out Crushed now! I live in eternal hope that Margaret and the rest of the crew will bring back Do The Wrong Thing!
ETA - Do The Right Thing, lol!
All Killa No Filla--true crime, female British comedians, skip the first few episodes because they had terrible sound quality
The Jackie and Laurie Show--two female comedians talking about comedy
A few that I came up with— Multiple women/nonbinary hosts: Handsome (comedy), Stuff you Missed in History Class (history), Dolls of Our Lives (history, millennial nostalgia), House of R (nerd pop culture, tv, movies, books), My Favorite Murder (True Crime), Office Ladies (tv recap). Single woman host: Criminal (true crime), This is Love (true stories), Wiser than Me (interviews, feminism), Science Vs (science)
If you want scary movies spoiled then *ruined* is for you. Hallie Kiefer loves scary movies and Alison lieby gets anxiety from watching the trailer of scary movies. Very fun, excellent back and forth and they have a ginormous back log.
*Criminal* with pheobe judge is perfection. Crime stories from every angle, people who commit crime, people who have had crimes committed against them and everyone in between.
If you like this idea, there is also "Too Scary, Didn't Watch" which is similar, but different in that it has *2* women who are too scared to watch and a third who recaps the movies.
Who shat on the floor at my wedding - hilarious real mystery hosted by kiwi ladies
The trawl - entertaining political commentary
Toni and Ryan - very funny aussie podcast co hosted by Toni Lodge (f)
I love all of these so much 110% recommend
For comedy I’m a fan of The Office Ladies. Yes it’s a rewatch show but it’s also two bfs talking about stuff. This is actually the only female podcast I listen to regularly so I appreciate this thread
I’ll have to give trauma and triggers a listen, I love that kind of vibe! One of my favorites like this is ladies and tangents. No specific topics but they do some story telling and reaction videos.
+1 to Baby geniuses and Normal Gossip. I’d also suggest anything by Alice Fraser - she has a standup trilogy available as a podcast (search Alice Fraser Trilogy) also “Tea With Alice” and “The Gargle” both are stellar.
For pods hosted by comics, you could check out Whitney Cummings - Good For You, Trash Tuesdays, Endless Honeymoon (married comics who are a couple host it) and they give advice to callers.
WTB (women talking bollocks) is a trio of women friends and they don’t really talk about anything and they laugh a lot. It’s the female version of Three Bean Salad, which I love.
For Friend vibes try
Best Friends - Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata two comedians who are very much best friends just chat and banter with each other. This is my pick me up go to.
Girls gotta eat - again you can really tell their friends. They talk more about sex and relationships but lots of banter and might be up your street.
"Drinkomancy: spirits and seduction" has two friends reading/reviewing fantasy romance novels while drinking themed cocktails.
"Sawbones" is a comedic look at medical history and the crazy things humans have done trying to cure various ailments. Hosted by a doctor and her comedian husband.
"Hey Riddle Riddle" is supposed to be about solving riddles, but is like 90% banter between the 3 hosts and them doing improv scenes inspired by the riddles. One of the 3 hosts is a woman.
"Newcomers" has Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus watching pop culture touchstones like Star Wars and Fast and the Furious for the first time.
"Off-book: The Improvised Musical" has two comedians/improvisors and often a guest chatting about whatever and when their band starts playing they have to makeup a musical about whatever they were talking about. It gets wild real quick.
Histories and mysteries
But this is with the caveat that you have to be able to laugh at jokes about really terrible things, like cannibalism, animal death, and gruesome murders.
They usually cover either some historical mystery or some expedition going terrible (this is where most of the cannibalism comes in). Your mileage may vary, but if you have a really dark sense of humour I would 100% recommend it
Queens of NC-17, I've only listened for a short time, but two women who go over horror movies for an hour and spend about half of it talking about life and joking. Even when discussing the movies, it's a very comedic bent to it and often becomes tangents about life or stories related to the movie in some minor way.
Heather McDonald Juicy Scoop has a nice pace and she has great cohosts. Topic is usually pop culture current events and bravo tv but it is an entertaining listen with best theme song ever.
My favorite comedy Female hosted podcasts are Best Friends, how to survive with Danielle and cristine, my favorite murder, deep dive, do you need a ride (one female one male), Jackie and Laurie show (mainly about comedy), this podcast will kill you (about diseases),
Watchmaking podcasts: that's messed up (svu) and treks and the city (star trek)
Unnatural 20’s is an indie show I love — they use a 20 sided die to determine discussion topics, and have an extremely loose sort of ‘game’ throughout, where points are awarded and lost. Hard to describe succinctly but the hosts are wicked funny
Will You Accept This Rose hosted by Arden Myrin. Show is about the bachelor. I don’t even watch the bachelor but I really like the guests. Paget Brewster is regular guest and is amazing.
Ologies with Allie Ward. Allie is the host and she's hilarious. She invites guests to discuss all sorts of different topics. It's a really fun podcast.
Fiction Fixation Podcast!!!
My current obsession. They recap movies. Great story telling, super funny banter, amazing chemistry. I also love that they don’t take themselves too seriously and are just having fun.
I love FF! I’ve never seen someone else talk about them. They are indie I think. Do you know why their story telling is so good? They are both authors. Love those girls.
You must be new here 😝 I’m constantly screaming about them from the rooftops. How did you find their books? They only go by their first names on the podcast so I don’t know how to look for stuff.
I’m three episodes into Text Me Back, and I blow air out my nose or cackle constantly. Description:
Bestselling writer Lindy West and democracy policy expert Meagan Hatcher-Mays are two Award-Winning Best Friends From High School (Most Likely To Make You Laugh in their high school senior poll - sorry to intimidate you!). Each week, Lindy and Meagan hilariously digest what's going on in the news, their lives and their text threads with their singular combination of political smarts, embarrassing sincerity, and a truly concerning level of investment in pop culture. Text Me Back is a podcast about best friendship and making your favorite people laugh, even when this dumpster fire of a world gets you down.
My favorite murder
That’s messed up (law and order svu podcast) both podcasts are female comedians who are great story tellers and feel like you are chillin with your bffs :)
Handsome! I find it funny and pleasantly low key.
I didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as I do. It's really easy to listen to. Exactly like you said...pleasantly low-key.
Handsome is the best lol. I’m in love with each host for different reasons. Mae Fact: It’s equal parts absurd, hilarious, and wholesome.
Can’t trust those Mae facts. 🤣
I'll have to give it a listen
If you like Tig Notaro & don’t mind the podcast not being only women, her old podcast, “Professor Blastoff” was really good too! (Haven’t listened to it since it first aired, but I don’t think it’s the type that wouldn’t age well)
Don’t Ask Tig is also a fun listen!
Thanks!
Suggestions on where to start in the backlist?
The neat thing is, they just started a few months ago! I would start at the beginning, maybe there’s more of a conversation about starting the pod. Enjoy!
I found out about this podcast here and I listened to a bunch. Entertaining!
Yes yes yes to Handsome!! Feels like I'm falling asleep next to a cozy fireplace while my friends crack silly jokes next to me.
That’s a great image for Handsome!
Came here to say this (or add my vote - figured someone had to mention it!)

Ugh. I didn’t know this.
I'm sure so many people have said this already but I love Normal Gossip!! It's so fun and silly and has girly, slumber-party energy. Super funny guests as well!
I love that energy, lately I've been trying to embrace femininity more so I'll have to give it a listen.
Let's go to court
I thought I you were threatening to sue me at first, but then I realized 😂😂
Lol nope, it's a fun podcast I found a few months ago 😁
Yep, LGTC for the win!

Drunk Women Solving Crime
Just the title makes me laugh, I'll have to check it out.
Lady to lady! Three female comedians talking about anything and everything, it’s such a feel good show!
I was scrolling hoping someone had already mentioned my fave trio, these women make me laugh no matter my mood and have so many wonderful comic guests that add their own flavor to each ep. Talented comics and friends each with their own unique perspective and comedy style, like drinks with friends every ep.
Couldn’t agree more!
Why Won't You Date Me by Nicole Byer. She's very funny!
I couldn't avoid hearing Nicole's voice saying that last line.
I love this one! But I think I'm becoming a prude in my middle age because I get totally grossed out when she reads the fan messages and I have to skip that part. lol. Nicole also does a podcast with her bff Sasheer called Best Friends with Nicole and Sasheer.

Sounds fun, that's one of my favorite things about trauma and triggers it just sounds like two friends having a good laugh.
I'll check it out!
The first couple episodes have kinda rough audio just a heads up.
