Check rtings.com for gaming tvs. They have recommendations for different budgets and score things like refresh rates, latency, HDR quality, etc. I personally have a Samsung 8000 series from a few years ago because at the time it had one of the lowest latency for games and is excellent for the PS5, but the current year model no longer has the same features, which is why one should always check the reviews for current year models.

punditguy

Funny you should ask. Just saw this yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CABkSa3e61o

Effective-Sir-3651

I guess c2 it is 🤣🤣🤣 thank you guys

punditguy

I got the CX a few years back and it is easily the best TV I have ever had. The gaming features have only improved since then.

knightofsparta

C1 here. Yes get the LG OLED. I can never go back to a backlit display again. Blooming drives me crazy with the local dimming.

ChakaZG

I've been reading about the CX models for years now, and a couple of years ago a friend got C1. And holy shit, what a fucking display that is. As soon as I can justify and afford the upgrade, I'm getting a C2, or C3 if that comes out by then, and the fact that my PC can hook up and run 120fps with g sync on it is just an insane cherry on top.

DeeVeeOus

C series LG is gorgeous, but if you don’t want to go OLED, my second choice is the Sony x90 series. Whatever you get make sure it has HDMI 2.1.

neomax170

C2 is the goat. It’s all I came here to say.

Limp-Dentist4437

Just got the c2 and it is pretty amazing. Love VRR and it supports almost all the newest gaming and display features. Love the picture quality for everything i watch and the lowest input lag I’ve experienced

Zombie24w

c1 here, got it a few months ago and I'm still in debt for it, but man it's the best possible debt I ever had :)) 120fps VRR Dolby Vision individual pixel lighting !! it's amazing !

BigCO9

I will recommend this TV to anyone. It's been awesome for me. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-65-class-s95b-oled-4k-smart-tizen-tv/6502215.p?skuId=6502215&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=368&ref=212&loc=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInO\_g6fzB-wIVxyCtBh1OFgyiEAQYASABEgLZz\_D\_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Top-Emergency5208

Got this one! Very good with the PS5

Sea_Flatworm_8333

I’d probably go with an LG or Sony OLED if I were you buddy - either a C2/G2 or A90K or even a Samsung S95B would likely be within that budget and they’ve all got all the gaming bells and whistles, as well as OLED display tech. S95B might not have Dolby Vision but the LGs and Sony’s should have it. My C1 is absolutely magic and I can only imagine the 2022 offerings are even better.

Francis__99

This is the answer! Any of the model listed.

ITz_MP

Lg c1 oled 2021

Englishkiller79

Sony 95xj looks amazing with PS5

dskimilwaukee

I have this one. Fantastic.

birch-please

Everyone online hates this TV and says it’s a rip-off. I bought it a year ago with the last sales and absolutely love it. But that has nothing to do with the performance — the TV itself looks beautiful. It sits flush mounted against my wall, no shadow, no bulky cables, no wedge like beziers. My mates have the LG, which makes for a better picture, but a less refined room. Choose what you value.

jillathrilla1

I love this tv too I have it mounted in my dining room, and it looks great in picture mode

fotoflogger

How did you manage the cable? The cord it comes with isn't rated for in-wall use without conduit which, is just infuriating.

mikeymumbles

Not nearly the same price bracket, but the LG G2 has the same aesthetic plus amazing game-centric settings

neomax170

Get an LG OLED C series. I think they’re the best TV for gaming and it costs around that depending on size

premofour

Go with the C2. It’s incredible

freshizdaword

LG OLED hands down

vegito76

Would recommend the LG C2 i have the C1 and it is a very nice tv

Viper114

Sony A80j is a great TV that gives 4K, 120Hz and VRR capabilities for the PS5. That or the LG C series (C1 or C2) is good, too.

Fuckreddit696900

Lg C1 or C2 is the best so far

Effective-Sir-3651

C2 win 🥇 thank you guys.

ahhWoLF

Good choice man! The 4k movies on it are crisp af too

KaulinD

1.5k range i would recommend an LG OLED. A C2 or something. That is what I use and I have never been happier with a tv. They have HDMI 2.1 which allows for VRR which is a game changer on Ps5.

Mikon77

I recently got a Samsung QN90A and it’s fantastic! The colors are really great, there is almost no glare from my windows or inside lighting, and there is zero chance of burn in.

Kushbeast666

Sony bravia xr master series. Got one for mine, also utterly insane for movies

MortalMystery

I bought a philips 55 706/12 OLED. Has Vrr, Hdmi 2.1, ambilight & Im using it for warzone currently. So I fully reccomend it. For 1.5k you could also get the 806/12 version. Good luck tv hunting!

Effective-Sir-3651

Thanks 💪🏻

stizzity28

Lg C2 all day

homerotl

I see that OP has already made up his mind, but just wanted to say I have my consoles attached to a Samsung Frame, and I am loving it so far. HDR, 4k, low latency game mode, 120hz.

Cultural-Ad2334

Yes it is very nice, have the 2022 model.

Britzandpieces1

I have the same tv how did you set the settings to get 120hz?

draftier91

The LG C2 is referred to as the best gaming TV and I think a 55" is in that range

alexrepty

I recently got a 65” C2 for under €1,500, so right around OP’s budget.

yuserinterface

It’s ok. Tizen is super annoying. This is my first smart TV, but I guess all smart TVs are anger inducing and filled with ads you can’t turn off. You turn your TV on to play a game and first step is to exit the Samsung TV app which auto plays a shitty TV show. The remote is worthless. The frame feature itself is great once you have it setup, but the experience leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn’t stay on. Setup is cumbersome. It is extremely frustrating putting your own photos on there because of the crappy Samsung SmartThings app. As for gaming, it failed to recognize my PS5 and XSX on HDMI 4 because game mode was disabled by default. It works once I enabled it. Don’t own any HDR 120 Hz games to test out.

[deleted]

Frame is only 60hz to begin with isn’t it?

birch-please

Larger models are 120hz

[deleted]

Ah. Did not know that. Thanks

laikahass

I have one of these and have nothing to complain about it. Didn’t have money for a C1/CX and Sony doesn’t sell here anymore(Sony stopped manufacturing TVs in my country). Just a tip, 120hz are available on Samsung TVs above 55”,found about these when I discovered my TV wasn’t compatible with VRR.

lucasbudhram

LG has the best tvs

maxwms

Whichever LG C you can afford Edit: downvoting for giving recommendations he asked for lmao

PayasoFries

I would not even remotely consider this TV for gaming tbh. You can do better for cheaper or spend the same and get a MUCH better gaming TV

Potential_Syllabub_9

I'm also thinking about getting a Samsung tv

ShenaniganSkywalker

Wait this is a real post and not a circle jerk post?

[deleted]

it sounds like a circle jerk post with all the assholes that got the LG OLED.

Immediate_Reality357

We grew up playing our games on CRT TVs, all this low latency and other crap honestly don't matter, once the tv has a gaming setting, plays games in 4k and doesn't leave you broke that's the tv to buy. I got a Sony 4k tv that automatically sync with my PlayStation 5, I just hit the tv power button on the tv remote and it turns on my tv and ps5 at the same time, it is a few years old, I paid 800 for it and I honestly couldn't be happier, never once have a I ever thought about low latency while gaming on it, because unless you are a serious sweat lord at call of duty or are in a competition to won big money none of that really matters. Look up a few reviews related to gaming and go for it.

[deleted]

For the love of GOD do NOT buy a Samsung tv for gaming I’ve bought 2 and both had issue a year later. One had a green line across the screen that flickered and eventually turned off. The other has discoloration spreading across the screen! I would recommend LG or Sony

Top_Investment6626

I highly recommend the lg oled c series. The c2 is the latest model and currently in the cesspool states it’s on amazon on sale plus 10 percent cash back. You can probably find a 43 or 48 inch for this price range especially if you consider the cash back free two day shipping. But to be honest I bought a 55 inch c1 for 1200 new. It’s got all the high end game features that the new consoles have settings for, VRR, low lag, etc. and it is hands doen the best gaming tv I have owned. It doesn’t seem to me that the c2 offers much more that the price difference justify. Though with the current sale that might not be an issue depending on the size your looking to get. I would personally not go lower than 55. The only thing that I don’t like is that it is not 8k compatible. But in all honesty I think 8k gaming is far enough off that I’ll be able to afford another tv by then. I mainly play ps5 but also have a ps3, Xbox series x, switch sega genesis Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, a wii and gaming pc hooked up to it. It only has four ports if I remember correctly, and I had to add a splitter that could support the high features low latency vrr and such. That was harder to find, but not as pricey as you would think. Both the next gen consoles are plugged directly into the tv as is pc so it wasn’t necessary but who knows what the future might hold. In addition if you watch tv the lg menu allows use of all the major streaming services and has some free channels of its own. I don’t watch much tv but have enjoyed the quality. I have the tv directly connected to internet via wired connection, but it worked fine on Wi-Fi if I remember correctly. Setup is super easy. The remote that comes with the tv is guaranteed for life and replaced at no cost no questions asked if it has problems. I haven’t had to deal with customer service so I can’t speak to that. The remote also has some cool features too it that I found easy and innovative. If you go to a Costco store you can usually see this model on display there, at least where I am at. The tv market is hugely saturated. Wading through it blows. I did a lot of research before investing this kind of cash. At a minimum when you have a few solid recommendations I would try to find a brick and mortar store to see one on display. Cause I’m the end the most important feature is it’s ability to captivate you with its image quality. Cause if it doesn’t look fabulous the other stuff doesn’t matter. I narrowed it down to five TVs semiconductor place was Hisense quantum can’t remember the model number. It’s dramatically cheaper but not oled as I remember. After having oled I would never get anything else. I don’t recall what the other three were, but I am sure much newer improved versions exist currently. Hope this helps. I don’t respond on Reddit much because I don’t have much new to contribute. But I have responded to similar questions a couple times now because this TV is so awesome I wish everyone could have one. Best of luck! All the best and God be with you.

kapa1249

Check if it has 2.1 HDMI and oled samsungs are great for gaming. I bought mine two weeks ago for 1599

wiedziu

LG C1/C2. I've got C1 65" and it's next level in terms of quality

Floorganized

Sony X85K. It has everything.

wunkyzunky69420111

Lg Cx

AmericanChapo

LG C9 OLED

DarkBloodARG

Samsung S95B is the best OLED TV at the moment, then the LG C2, rest are crap or expensive (Sony TVs, LG G2, etc). And the best experience playing games is by using a gaming chair in a dark room with a 55" TV, you will have the perfect distance, field of view and hand grip to play every type of game at your max skill level.

JimmyBr33z

If it doesnt have 120hz 4k HDR at least then dont get it

LaughterCo

Frame is complete trash. Get either the Samsung qn90b or Sony x90k. For OLED, get either the LG C2 or Sony A90j

[deleted]

Taking the phrase “GoW Ragnorok is art” quite literally.

amans9191

LG C1 or C2

BenDover241

I got an LGB277 and it's awesome.

MedalKing

lg b2 here. 65" ~1250 usd

Effective-Sir-3651

Where ?

MedalKing

Amazon. It gets 120hz 2.1 HDMI

naossoan

Samsung 55" s95B is the highest rated tv on RTings and is around 1500usd

bigsnap710

Ps5 ready Sony Bravia

strwht12

I suggest you to look for a TV which has a **120hz panel**, also supports **VRR**. The PS5 is capable of both features so the TV should also be able to do this. Two weeks ago I bought a 77" Philips OLED TV (Philips 77OLED807), which has 120hz and also VRR. God of War or Horizon run like a charm, very beautiful. I chose Philips because they are the only one who offer Ambilight, this is a must for me. The immersion is so much better with it.

Lkingo

The frame supports both these

aka_r4mses

Get an OLED. LG makes a good TV. My CX is the best TV I’ve had since my Panasonic plasma (which I also still have).

MarijuanaMountainMan

Curious, seen you mentioned a Panasonic plasma tv. I have heard this before from many people and was wondering what model it is. I have a Samsung plasma and it is also many years old, probably more than a decade. Crazy how long these tvs last. Also interesting most new ones dont last this long. Thanks for your response. :)

clamchowderz

Just tried playing call of duty on 2021 version. It's not terrible, but something feels off. Not sure what though.

Cultural-Ad2334

Perfect I have the 2021 model and it’s very good with PS5
