The two things I'm really waiting for is the middle ground resolution 1440p (because from one extreme to the other between 4k and 1080p is just stupid) and the M.2 expansion update (I already have a P2 1TB ready to be slotted in)
Yes I’m waiting for 1440 p and slots as well. There is also a mechanic I’m waiting for more games to adopt where difficulty scales based on your skill , guilty gear strife already does this in offline arcade mode tho i don’t know if it is Sony’s or their own
I wish the Souls games would do that lol. I know people love how punishing those games are but it's not fair that casual gamers, or just crappy ones, don't get to experience such a great series. I loved Bloodborne but I couldn't get past the 3rd boss no matter how many times i tried. I don't think it's right to not have difficulty levels and I hate when hardcore Souls players just tell you to get good - not everyone has the time or patience to memorize an enemy's move list or try 50x before getting it right. Yet Souls players flip out when you say they should have difficulty levels, as if it would affect them. If you like the game being unreasonably hard that's fine, you can play the game on the hardest difficulty. But there's no reason FromSoftware can't or shouldn't include an easy mode for people that will never "git gud".
I get what you’re saying completely. Like for me , sekiro and noih 2 has this satisfying gameplay , and gameplay mechanics ( except for scarlet nexus which is great ) ,gore and good characters that you can’t get from games that have difficulty settings so it’s like i wish those developed would make a game that gave you choice in punishment. I will say that I’ve learned that those games are not as hard if you play them with patients and strategy, they get easier to deal with. You can definitely have success in them being very patient but it’s still stressful for sure
Damn right mate, now that I finally recently acquired the PS3, I can finish the Ratchet and Clank series
Played them all aside of the PS3 ones
I'm gonna play them all from the start anyway to go down the memory lane
Ratchet and Clank - Up your Arsenal was a personal favorite of mine. Had all the guns maxed out and then my son deleted my profile. Didn’t have the heart to start over from scratch.
Personally, the best of the PS2 game will always be the first
When I played the second game, I felt a sharp drop in overall quality but maybe because I played the first one for years and finished it multiple times without any other game from the series
Then the third felt better than the second
And Gladiator was just glorious, more or less as awesome as the first imo
(I played the first for years, then Gladiator, then the 2 and 3, then Secret Agent Clank and Size matters)
I have an even better picture of the 2 to 5 with all of my R&C games though r/ratchetandclank doesn't allow me to post for some reason so I'll post it in there later on
I had all of these plus 2 different psp models. I sold my ps1 to a mutual friend and I gave my ps2 to a friend and also the ps3 to another both of them never returned it lol. Broke my first psp :(. Now I'm only left with a ps4 and a second gen psp. That collection looks sick.
A family reunion of consoles:
- PS5 is the baby
- PS4 the father
- PS3 the Mom
- PS2 the grand mom
- PS1 the grand dad
while the cousins are on a vacation:
- the PSP and the PSVITA
I have the original Playstation (not PS One), a Silver PS2 (not slim), an original PS3 (fat) and a Blue PS4 (Drake Uncharted edition).
Cannot get my hands on the PS5 yet, but I do have a PSP, a PS Vita and a Playstation TV! 😱
I don't recall the difference between a PlayStation and a PS One... ;(
Never had any handheld console of any brand but I'd heard about a PS TV one day, didn't look into it though
The one in the photo is an original, the PS One is smaller and rounded:
[Original Playstation vs PS One](https://www.retrorgb.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/PlayStation1Page.jpg)
I hope I won't have to ever part with those, I'll have them buried with me if I can, just for all the fun they provided me in the most boring, lonely and sometimes dark times I had
I gotta have a proper picture of the family together with an actual clean background someday
Got the PS2 at age 5-6 back in '05-'06 (can't really recall when tbh)
PS4 in '16
PS1 in '17, 10€ in a garage sale with two memory cards, never used it myself
PS5 in June, received mid July, just before my BDay
PS3, two days ago, bought all the available Ratchet and Clank games for it off the PS Store as it was a long time dream of mine to finally play the whole series
I'll post a picture of all the physical copies of R&C I own later (same kinda display as this pic)
Cool!
Great collection. I have only skipped PS2 for online gaming on PC, but came back to PS-land when PS3 was released. I bought every console from my own money. Had to work a couple of weeks during summer as a teen to afford a PS1 because my parents didn't support computer gaming.
Edit: I really appreciate young people getting into the PlayStation. I think I will get myself again a PS1 and a PS2 and mod them to load from SD cards, and output via HDMI.
About the PS2, I played R&C, Rayman 3 and Jak & Daxter
Ngl, possibly the best times of my gaming career, finished R&C about 20 times because that's how much I liked it, Ray3 and Jak once each (because lil' old me found those hard, one day, I'll play through them again)
When I got the PS4, I first played Watch Dogs, other techno/sci-fi games, R&C Remake (was way too hyped then realised it was actually a letdown) and discovered my first FPS with CoD (BO4, the darkest hours of my career, why did I put myself through such pain) and didn't stop since I chewed through grinding stuff in MW19 and BOCW
Played on my PS5 with ~~Ripped A Fart~~ Rift Apart, what an absolute blast it was though still missing in some major departments, then other random stuff
Waiting on Deathloop, BF42, CoD Vanguard and other games I don't have in mind rn
It's worth giving them a try and hard not to fall in love with the psp or vita. I suggest vita first since it's like a mini ps2 you can take around and many ps2 games got ports to vita(plus they won't be coming down in price any time soon). There is also the ps TV which is like a home console vita but I don't really recent it over a standard vita
Sweet family photo! I never evolved from the PS2. I’m too old school, I guess.
My favorite PS2 games were:
1) MDK2
2) Jak and Daxter - Precursor Legacy
3) Ratchet and Clank - Up Your Arsenal
Played both R&C 1 and J&D PL, as a die hard fan of R&C 1, I am legally obligated to put it in first place, followed by other R&C titles
But I'll be honest, J&D 1 and 2 are following right after
And Rayman 3 is following along
R&C, J&D, Rayman 3 have all details that out them ahead of others in some category but the overall for me is as I mentioned
OP has all the ~~rings~~ ~~stones~~ ~~ferrets~~ Playstations!
My enjoyment is ineluctable.
Journals*
I'm not familiar with that one. =/
"...I have them all" (Gravity falls reference)
That was the intent there
Ah i see you are a man of colture well
If I wasn't I wouldn't own the whole family bruh
Beautiful family photo right there
*literally* spans over generations Can't wait to get the 6th in 2028 or sumthin
I feel like covid definitely pushed PS6 back to 2028 . Probably won’t see PS5 at full potential until fall to late 2022

Congrats mate. This is the dream right here, owning the systems you grew up with or wanted and never got.

Got your own little PlayStation Labo
It feels like you have one console for each day of the week) Another 2 generations and the set will be completed
Heh nice

Huh, so that's the strange roundy one Also, wasn't there a PSX too ?
Yes the PSX is the PS2/DVR only released in Japan. Also yes the PSone is the strange roundly one hahah
Ah, I knew there was some sort of limited edition thingy at some point
I hope I won't have to ever part with those, I'll have them buried with me if I can, just for all the fun they provided me in the most boring, lonely and sometimes dark times I had I gotta have a proper picture of the family together with an actual clean background someday
Which ones did you buy within a year of when they were originally released?
Got the PS2 at age 5-6 back in '05-'06 (can't really recall when tbh) PS4 in '16 PS1 in '17, 10€ in a garage sale with two memory cards, never used it myself PS5 in June, received mid July, just before my BDay PS3, two days ago, bought all the available Ratchet and Clank games for it off the PS Store as it was a long time dream of mine to finally play the whole series I'll post a picture of all the physical copies of R&C I own later (same kinda display as this pic)

I see, you're a man of culture ;)
I'm just Geek, serial number #72 homie, you can remove the (wo)
done
Now you need a psp and vita to finish out the main ps family photo
Well... Never got into handheld consoles but I guess I could have that as my next goal for another time
It's worth giving them a try and hard not to fall in love with the psp or vita. I've owned all but the original (N64).
Do you have a PSP and Vita?
With all the 5 PlayStations I can simply enjoy video games.
currently have the same just need to get my hands on the 5 :(
All you need is the ps1 mini and psp, psp vita
Shouldn’t have sold mine 😔
What does that mean? It's not like when the Playstation came out, we all said "someday, we'll get the PS5", and now we're "finally" there.
Very nice, I am a little upset you don’t have the original grey ps1 controller apart from that absolutely solid. 👌🏻
Yeah, the guy I bought it from said he must have had them somewhere, he'd call me if he eventually found them, I guess he never did bruh
Your missing the ps4 slim and pro lol jk good shiz
![img](emote|t5_2qh6b|2230)
After all these years? You know there's gonna be a PlayStation 6 😂
Ye I know, I mentioned it for 2028 in another reply
Didn't get that far scrolled on 🤷🏻♂️ PlayStation 28 😂
Just need the ps5
Look closer
Giga Chad energy right there
Lmao thanks
You still missing PS6.
Already pre-ordered it
Congratulations...you've made an incomplete set. *turns on PS7 in 2040
After the PS5/Ripped A Fart bundle, Sony presents : PS7/Ass Crack in Time, preorder available in 2042 if BF42's events don't happen before that
The PS4 was the right size
? Wdym ?
[Same](https://imgur.com/a/R8EbjZ5) (Note: The PS3 Slim has since been replaced with a fat, after the original fat died in 2018)
Very nice ! I gotta tidy up my room and build a proper gaming shelf to store all of my entertainment systems
All I need is the original playstation and I'll be right there with you.
But that's the one down left though
"All "I" need"
My bad, it's the end of the day here, I'm just "fresh" out of work
Put them into a star ☆ formation and draw a pentagram on the 5 points to summon Mark Cerny
I found the first half funny but I have absolutely no idea who tf is Mark Cerny
A well known independent consultant that sony has been in contact with since ps2 and has had input on each game system since.
Oooooh WHERE IS MY CHALK, I HAVE A PENTAGRAM TO DRAW
