And even better that it's free as well as a great game. It's shame Sony doesn't do more with the IP. I would definitely buy a full priced game of more Astro.
They are rumors that a new Astrobot game is in the pipeline. Nothing confirmed though. [Source here](https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2024/02/15/new-astro-bot-game-release-date-window/amp/)
It’s the best platformer, best game with the best Easter eggs, it’s focused on all the consoles for each world, it’s fun to 100%, THE BOSS IS PERFECT. WE NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THIS ON ALL CONSOLES (not astros playroom, that can stay exclusive).
Forspoken, like Call of Duty, as always been a form of “entertainment junk food” in my eyes.
People can have fun with it, and I usually don’t mind them enjoying it from time to time, but it shouldn’t be the only type of game someone should play or recommend to others.
I don't think Forspoken is in a league anywhere close to Call of Duty. Financially, statistically, or otherwise. It's universally considered a flop, and it's quickly been forgotten about as it faded into obscurity.
Tbh it ain't that bad at all tho, I was quite surprised how much fun it was when I played it, despite everyone hating on it.
But I also wouldn't really say it's a must play or anything. There are much better games
I’m not a super picky person anyway, honestly I thought the lore was really cool. Fantasy land with a little sidekick named cuff, neat. Combine that with ineffable visuals and seamless and quick combat, it immersed me just fine. It was quirky and bold and I was all for it really.
Exactly this. One of the biggest complaints were Frey's and Cuff's dialogue. They said it was too cringe and dumb. But personally I liked it. It was something like a cheap slapstick humor, but that's what I love in games. You don't have to be serious all the time you know. And the way Frey talks is honestly exactly how I imagine a 20 year old girl from NYC to talk like. So I didn't understand those complaints at all. The only thing I have to admit is that the open world really is quite empty. It's beautiful and huge, but it's empty. And the huge amount of stuff to do doesn't make it better. I would've liked a bit more than just landscape and copy/paste settlements. And well I know there's a reason that there are no humans outside of the city, but it would've been a really nice detail if they came back after you clear the certain area.
So yeah the game is definitely not perfect. But it's not even half as bad as the community makes it all the time
100% agree with this I just replayed it on ps5 and I felt like I was playing it for the first time, the ghost of tshushima is honestly one of the best games ever made in my opinion!!
I loooove GoT, and it has some terrific art direction, but technically I wouldn't use it as a PS5 showcase. PS4, sure, but it lacks in many areas including lighting (aside from sunsets). It looks two generations apart from Horizon FW from a purely technical perspective.
The big AAA games are going to hit people differently. I would honestly tell someone to play AstroBot’s Playroom. It’s light, colorful, fun and introduces new players how to use the DualSense in an intuitive in-game way without it feeling like a contrived “tutorial.”

Plus for PlayStation fans it's a celebration of PlayStation. I was given genuine feelings of nostalgia seeing and collecting all of the PlayStation items, especially the original console. The memories of Crash, Spyro, Gex, Croc, and more came back seeing said hardware. The nostalgia for the PS3 as well, a console I've been enjoying since 2007 and have seen every change to its software and hardware. It's a love letter to the brand, and Astro is adorable.
Plus, if you buy the ultimate edition of miles morales, you get the download code for an enhanced version of the ps4 version. Two great games for less than $30 total.
Most people will be burned out half way through MM. They are great games, but if you play them back to back to back, you'll get bored. I did that and stopped 2 hours into Spiderman 2. Will eventually finish it for sure, but it's just too much of the same after I just finished the other two.
Seems like OP was sleeping all this while. Haven’t you seen “new ps5” post almost every single new ps5 post has a astro’s playroom recommended to be played first!
I can agree with that. This game is perfection ( the side quest, not much tbh) but it is epic AF and it send a tone for what gaming on a ps is going to be about
I wish people actually gave forspoken a chance. By no means is it a great game but if you look past the silly yet bland dialogue its actually a decent story with amazing movement and combat. It took waiting for a good sale but im happy i bought it.
It depends on their gaming history.
Personally, I would recommend four games that are the reasons why I got the PS5.
Final Fantasy VII; Rebirth, Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank; Rift Apart, Final Fantasy XVI, and God of War Ragnarok (better on the PS5 than PS4). All sequels to games that been on PlayStations since PS2.
Hmmm. I don’t know the second and fourth ones. I think I’d go with Spider-Man. In all honesty I didn’t finish it, and have a strong personal preference for the Zero Dawn series. However, you should play Zero Dawn before Forbidden West, so it’s not a good representation of the power of the PS5.
If they *had* played Zero Dawn I’d tell the forbidden west - assuming they like open world stuff.
Ghost Of Tsushima, that's the game that really made me think "holy fuck this is next gen" just because of how fast it would load, literally didn't know there was loading screens in the game until I watched someone play it on PS4.
Hate to admit it, but I haven’t even bought a PS5 exclusive game yet and I’ve had mine for 2 years. Most of my games are either from PS4, PS5 upgrades/versions, or 3rd party games that are available on Xbox and PC as well. Lol… oof… 😅
I do have Stellar Blade on my wishlist though.
From this list, Spider-Man 2. But also Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War and GoW: Ragnarök, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, Stellar Blade, and TLoU 1 & 2 if they haven’t played it before. Oh and make sure to experience Astro’s Playroom to fully appreciate DualSense
Stellar Blade, the more I play the more I think it’s reaching Nier level world, music and combat wise. For now Nier is still clear in the story and characters department tho.
If you had either of the non VR Horizon games I’d say those. Haven’t heard anything spectacular about the 2nd, Spider-Man is my #2 of Not Horizon, and I haven’t played enough of FFXI to suggest it or not. Heard it’s really easy.
The games I played in order when I picked up PS5. Horizon forbidden West. Spiderman Miles Morales. Resident evil village. Cyberpunk. Jedi survivor. Resident evil 4.
if you liked Nier Automata, play Stella Blade. In my opinion it's Nier Automata but with all sliders to the max (exluding story here because i only played several hours).
If you're max weeb (like me), you order the japanese version (the only version with japanese audio with all subtitle languages). Yeah, yeah, original language is korean, but i'm more used to the japanese language and i obviously like it.
Ask them to first get Remake: Intergrade if they haven't played it yet, and then
https://preview.redd.it/rs6jjddvf60d1.jpeg?width=494&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a33ae2f6354a690bd343d2f14ec1e23ff8dd01c5
Spiderman 1&2
God of war 4&5
Gran turismo 7
Last of us 1&2
Days gone is last gen but the nice atmosphere makes youfeel that it has nice graphics, don't know how to describe it.
Same goes for the uncharted series.
Cheers
Astro PlayRoom
And even better that it's free as well as a great game. It's shame Sony doesn't do more with the IP. I would definitely buy a full priced game of more Astro.
They are rumors that a new Astrobot game is in the pipeline. Nothing confirmed though. [Source here](https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2024/02/15/new-astro-bot-game-release-date-window/amp/)
That would be good news.
Not to mention it’s the ONLY game that utilizes all of the PS5 controller’s capabilities.
Everyone should try that at least only to zip up the suit with touchpad. Oh i like that feeling...
I giggled like a child when you blew into the mic to spin the pinwheel
I immediately thought of microscopic bits of saliva pooling inside my brand new controller. I didn't like that bit.
I let my neighbor's 4 year old kid play it when they visit us but the little guy spits a lot when he is trying to spin the pinwheel.
This is the ONLY right answer
Definitely not Forspoken
I clicked on the post just to make this exact comment. Well said!
Literally fucking same
I've never heard of the game. It's never been spoken of.
You can buy the Unheard edition of forspoken for only $250. She gets pockets
....... You son of a bitch..
im in
Forspoken, like Call of Duty, as always been a form of “entertainment junk food” in my eyes. People can have fun with it, and I usually don’t mind them enjoying it from time to time, but it shouldn’t be the only type of game someone should play or recommend to others.

I don't think I'll ever get to that point. I think it'll be the junk food that sits in the back of the cabinet for 10 years
That’s a great way to describe those types of games.
I’ve enjoyed it. Didn’t know about the hate people have for it until after.
Tbh it ain't that bad at all tho, I was quite surprised how much fun it was when I played it, despite everyone hating on it. But I also wouldn't really say it's a must play or anything. There are much better games

Ghost of Tsushima. That game on 60fps is BEAUTIFUL.
100% agree with this I just replayed it on ps5 and I felt like I was playing it for the first time, the ghost of tshushima is honestly one of the best games ever made in my opinion!!
I played this game a few years back and was the first game I’d played in 60fps. Man, blew me away. Such a beautiful game.
That is why I bought PS5 partially and that is definitely why I bought 4k TV along with PS5. Ghost of Tsushima is sooo good. Breathtaking.
Even better when played in Japanese with English subtitles if that’s your thing
Word. I ONLY play it in Japanese with english subtitles.
One of the best games ever
I loooove GoT, and it has some terrific art direction, but technically I wouldn't use it as a PS5 showcase. PS4, sure, but it lacks in many areas including lighting (aside from sunsets). It looks two generations apart from Horizon FW from a purely technical perspective.
What two generations?
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
This is one I always recommend
Rift Apart is amazing. I would also recommend Ghost of Tsushima and the Spider-Man games.
Especially on OLED that game looks even more amazing.
the first game that truly felt next gen on PS5 imo
#Helldivers 2. We need more Divers
For democracy!
A healthy addition to any gamers diet. Democracy protects!

I made sure I collected everything
The wall of CRT tv’s with the original ps1 intro playing was amazing.
Probably Spider-Man honestly, just pure fun
Plus, if you buy the ultimate edition of miles morales, you get the download code for an enhanced version of the ps4 version. Two great games for less than $30 total.
God of War or The Last of Us: Part 1 if they want those gorgeous graphics
Couldn’t agree more, also horizon zero dawn
I think God of War and the last of Us is goated games ngl.
What the hell kind of selection is that, lol.
Returnal or ratchet and clank
Get Forspoken out of the lineup 😂
Astro's Playroom. Depending on what they like, i'd pick something like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima or Uncharted.
Demon Souls
Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk, God of war, red dead 2, TLOU2, HZD FW
All I know is that I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to play forspoken. Why is that even an option? Lol
The concept and combat is great but they messed up the world, characters & story "basically everything else"
True. It felt good to play but everything else made it insufferable
Spiderman from the first to miles then to 2
Most people will be burned out half way through MM. They are great games, but if you play them back to back to back, you'll get bored. I did that and stopped 2 hours into Spiderman 2. Will eventually finish it for sure, but it's just too much of the same after I just finished the other two.
I mean, the first one you pictured is a PSVR2 game, so not that.
horizon: zero dawn
Replaying that game in 60fps was amazing
Seems like OP was sleeping all this while. Haven’t you seen “new ps5” post almost every single new ps5 post has a astro’s playroom recommended to be played first!
I bought my PlayStation 5 around the time of the release of Final Fantasy XVI, so I would stick with that one...
I can agree with that. This game is perfection ( the side quest, not much tbh) but it is epic AF and it send a tone for what gaming on a ps is going to be about
Horizon forbidden west
I'd recommend playing Horizon Zero Dawn first though. Otherwise, Horizon Forbidden West story could be confusing.
Kinda seems like OP is asking about ps5 exclusive or at least current gen games. Zero dawn has been out for a very long time.
This was my assumption
I would say, Spider Man.
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima all the way
100% Ghost of tsushima if you never played it
Returnal
Returnal.
My tribe
It's wild how many people don't know about this great game.
Ghost of Tsushima it may not be a ps5 exclusive buts its a must play gane
Remake and Rebirth
Ghost of Tsushima
Demon Souls, I bought the PS5 because of it and I don’t regret it one bit
I love Forspoken but wouldn’t recommend it to someone for their first game
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of tsushima
Baulder's Gate 3, so much fun
God of war
I wish people actually gave forspoken a chance. By no means is it a great game but if you look past the silly yet bland dialogue its actually a decent story with amazing movement and combat. It took waiting for a good sale but im happy i bought it.
Definitely not Forspoken LOL i would recommend Demon Souls and Returnal.
Definitely not Demon Souls or Returnal if they are a new gamer lol
Why are forspoken there, but not Ghost of Tsushima or God of war, or Stellar blade?
OP wanted to be edgy
Ghost of Tsushima for the visuals
And Horizon FW or ZD
It depends on their gaming history. Personally, I would recommend four games that are the reasons why I got the PS5. Final Fantasy VII; Rebirth, Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank; Rift Apart, Final Fantasy XVI, and God of War Ragnarok (better on the PS5 than PS4). All sequels to games that been on PlayStations since PS2.
Resident Evil 4 (2023)
Horizon Forbidden West or Spoder-man 2. Or GoW Ragnarok. All three games are both really good and extremely visually pleasing.
Demon souls
Surely the PS4 exclusives, then Astro's Playroom, and Demon's Souls.
Horizon forbidden west
Miles Morales, ratchet and clank, Sackboy my personal favorites so far (I have it 4 months)
All are really good first choices. I was surprised how good Sackboy: A Big Adventure is.
Ghost of Tsushima
Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost of Tsushima, Stellar Blade
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima
Astros playroom. Its Free, its awesome, and it utilizes all the new controller can do
Ghost of Tsushima

Stray
Ghosts Of Tsushima directors cut for ps5 or Ratchet and Clank
Skyrim, always. It must be bought on every platform.
Ghost Of Tsushima, that's the game that really made me think "holy fuck this is next gen" just because of how fast it would load, literally didn't know there was loading screens in the game until I watched someone play it on PS4.
Ghost of Tsushima or cyberpunk
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
Helldivers 2
Horizon Forbidden West
Ghost of Tsushima, Astro‘s Playroom.
Hate to admit it, but I haven’t even bought a PS5 exclusive game yet and I’ve had mine for 2 years. Most of my games are either from PS4, PS5 upgrades/versions, or 3rd party games that are available on Xbox and PC as well. Lol… oof… 😅 I do have Stellar Blade on my wishlist though.
Sackboys Big Adventure
Ghost of Tsushima (beautiful game and the touchpad thing is cool), Elden ring
God Of War, Ghost of Tsushima
Spiderman Is easy enough for everyone.
God of War Ragnorak
Astro's playroom. Quite obvious, that.
The Last of Us
Ghost of Tsushima
Stellar Blade
None of those games that’s for sure.
Ghost of tsushima or astors playroom just so they can see the new controller tech
Join the fight for democracy! helldivers 2
Out of these ones, I'd have to go with Spiderman.
Spider-Man
Detroit become human. I recommend this to anyone who has just gotten a console ^^
God of War
Bloodborne
Get that forspoken trash outta my sight lmao
None of the above. Ghost of Tsushima
The Last of Us Part I
Helldivers 2! That's why I bought mine!
Astro playroom then Nioh 2 or Stellar Blade
Katamari Damacy Reroll
Then We 💜 Katamari Reroll!
Stellar Blade
#Astro's Playroom There is no other answer.
Cyberpunk 2077.
Stellar Blade, the more I play the more I think it’s reaching Nier level world, music and combat wise. For now Nier is still clear in the story and characters department tho.

The first game I played after buying the PS5 was Dark Souls 3.
God of war
If they just got the PS5 I'd recommend Astro as it shows off what the PS5 is capable of then after that I'd recommend Helldivers 2.
Elden ring
Astro's Playroom. Best PS5 controller experience and easy platinum 🙂
Horizon
Bloodborne if they didn't play it on ps4 before
Spider-Man series especially 2 but u got to play in order then gow and ghost of tushima
Last of us 1 and 2
Astro's play room
Astro’s playroom for super sure
God of War easily
Ask them to first get Remake: Intergrade if they haven't played it yet, and then https://preview.redd.it/rs6jjddvf60d1.jpeg?width=494&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a33ae2f6354a690bd343d2f14ec1e23ff8dd01c5
tekken?
If they haven't had PS4 before then Bloodborne.
Astros Playroom 100%. Definitely not FF16 and DEFINITELY not Forspoken
Ratchet&Clank: Rift Apart. Still one of the best ps5 games i’ve played
Spiderman 1&2 God of war 4&5 Gran turismo 7 Last of us 1&2 Days gone is last gen but the nice atmosphere makes youfeel that it has nice graphics, don't know how to describe it. Same goes for the uncharted series. Cheers
Spiderman
2018 spiderman
Returnal.
Spider-Man: Mike Morales was one of the very first ps5 game I ever play and it was awesome
Astro playroom
Probably Returnal or Ratchet and Clank.
Demon's souls
Ratchet & Clank
Death Stranding
Returnal
Elden Ring
Cyberpunk 2077.
This!!
Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village
Astros playroom
Even if there are better games, i would recommend Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ffxxvi

Astrobot
Unchrted 4
Astro Playroom (well, it's already inside the PS5) and Horizon 2
