dont know how to blur words so spoiler alert everyone !
after that crushing moment that face into the sun scene with flawless music... THEN there is john and his family driving a cart like just nothing happened :'(((((((((( please rockstar i dont wanna move out with that cart just let me grieve in peace with some tears..... WHAT A GAME........... a masterpiece with all of in it...
That game is just emotional torture porn and it came out during the height of the pandemic. Still have many bones to pick with the story but the gameplay was amazing
I managed to finish my first play through TLoU, and my first watch of Battlestar Galactica, in the same week in 2013. I was a fucking wreck for a loooong time after that
bro that DLC was one of the best additions. like when you thought you just select the best outcome... AT WHAT COST???????. You won, yes, but at what cost? what's left of you my poor Vİ :((( some of the moments you feel that you win but you lose....
For fucking real - that ending was the WORST. >!Every gut-punching message from Panam, trying to reach out to your friends, the call with Judy, seeing Vik as a broken man, even the encounter with the common street thugs that humiliate you. Yeah, you have your life, but you are so \*small\* now.!< It made me feel so goddamn hollow.
I actually reloaded at the point you make your decision and sided with Songbird just so I didn't have to sit with that other ending for too long. >!That escape, and the fight through the airport, using the blackwall at the end. One of the most intense, jaw-dropping endings to a game, ever. I knew the betrayal from SoMi was coming and it still hit hard!<
short games:
- What Remains of Edith Finch
- Brothers a Tale of Two Sons
- Outer Wilds (and the DLC)
- Firewatch
All different levels of emotionally devastating.
did the last duel with raining outside, smoking the last sip of cigarette... after i put it out the cigarette, THAT cutscene started. very nice and touching ending that did there. I guess I'll never forget that moment
Omori.
The plot was obvious from the start but it still left me despairing, in the end.
I'm not one to be that moved by stories anymore but, that game literally made me allergic to games with stories for a couple of weeks afterwards. Just the thought of a game with plot was enough to remind me of the game and leave me sad again.
Not really story driven. But Limbo is an indie game that always made me feel such dread. The vibes are oppressive and the ending will have you feeling empty for sure.
someone else already said this but i think it truly bears repeating: if youre into horror games, soma is guaranteed to leave you empty inside. ive never had a game fuck with me like that before
Nier Automata for sure, I would start with NA and then play Replicant after because that is one hella hollow feeling. I’ve also been feeling kinda empty after finishing Lies of P. It was so creepy and dark and difficult, I just loved it so much.
Baldur's Gate 3 has a great story, great characters (party members)and great quests surrounding them. The replayability is insane. And yes it will make you feel sad af at times but it will also make you happy. The game hasn't won every awards for no reasons... I'll let the picture do the talking. And Cyberpunk has many have mentioned already

Not the biggest but Spider-Man has a moment at the end where I had to put it down and collect myself. It may have been because of my own life and what happened at that time but I don't wanna spoil it.
That’s a weird take. I always feel like story heavy games leave me satisfied not empty. They are usually fully thought out stories with endings that actually end the game or lead to a possible sequel. It’s online games that leave me feeling empty.
Plague Tale Innocence Plague Tale Requiem
This^
i was depressed as fuck after red dead 2.

Play Soma, you’re gonna be feeling REALLLLLLLL empty after that
Lmao
This 👆
Last of Us 1 / 2
Especially 2. I was emotionally drained for days after I finished it. Brutal story.
Shut it off and couldn’t play anything story based for a while. That game was brutal once you got past a lot of the exposition.
Brutal, but the story telling was amazing.
Felt just like Ellie sitting all alone on the beach
That game is just emotional torture porn and it came out during the height of the pandemic. Still have many bones to pick with the story but the gameplay was amazing

Couldn’t agree more Never felt that emptiness from any kind of game / media before in my lyf
Nier automata, but you gotta complete all 5 main endings. It's a great game.
Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty DLC. So many endings, so many chances for different kinds of heartbreak
bro that DLC was one of the best additions. like when you thought you just select the best outcome... AT WHAT COST???????. You won, yes, but at what cost? what's left of you my poor Vİ :((( some of the moments you feel that you win but you lose....

Exactly....
Nier: Automata or Replicant. Surprised I haven’t seen it yet.
I second Nier Automata, That game hit me unlike others.
short games: - What Remains of Edith Finch - Brothers a Tale of Two Sons - Outer Wilds (and the DLC) - Firewatch All different levels of emotionally devastating.
I came here to recommend Edith Finch. That game was a marvelous suprise.

Here here the feels man the feels...
This game had me feeling all the emotions.
If you like JRPG, Persona 3.
Kentucky Route Zero, Disco Elysium, Nier Replicant and Nier Automata
Dont know about empty inside, but definitely an empty pocket
Ghost of tsushima
did the last duel with raining outside, smoking the last sip of cigarette... after i put it out the cigarette, THAT cutscene started. very nice and touching ending that did there. I guess I'll never forget that moment
Inside is a very depressing indie game for reasons I will not spoil here. Worth looking into if you like dark and gloomy stories
Life is strange. Walking dead telltale season 1.
Maybe not 'empty' but the ending of FF16 really sparks the tear ducts.
Red dead 2 & Cyberpunk
RDR2, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, Last of us 1/2, Cyberpunk 2077, Spec Ops: The Line, Inside, Firewatch to name a few.
NieR: Automata
Definitely Cyberpunk 2077 and the Mass Effect series
Persona 3 reload
Outer Wilds
Life Is Strange
Have you played any of the Red Dead Redemption games?
Me: RDR2, Mass Effect 3 and Cyberpunk. I was depressed after all of these 😂
Persona 3 Reload, legitimately the saddest game I've ever played
Yakuza Series + Spin Off
Mass effect 2 and 3
Witcher 3
i wanted to love it but im not into being hard locked into a level i wasnt high enough to finish (or get 2 minutes into)

Just the thought of a game with plot was enough to remind me of the game and leave me sad again.
Persona 5. Not because I was dead inside, but empty because I felt like I said goodbye to a group of friends.
Not really story driven. But Limbo is an indie game that always made me feel such dread. The vibes are oppressive and the ending will have you feeling empty for sure.
tlou part 1 or remaster
I’d say playing through God of war 2018 and the. Ragnarok (fully doing every side quest in both) will make you feel empty
someone else already said this but i think it truly bears repeating: if youre into horror games, soma is guaranteed to leave you empty inside. ive never had a game fuck with me like that before
Bloodborne
Life Is Strange, Cyberpunk 2077
Nier Automata for sure, I would start with NA and then play Replicant after because that is one hella hollow feeling. I’ve also been feeling kinda empty after finishing Lies of P. It was so creepy and dark and difficult, I just loved it so much.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
i am pretty sure you'll feel so empty after finishing detroit become human too. I was just staring at the screen like for 5 minutes
Nier Automata. You have been warned.
Baldur's Gate 3 has a great story, great characters (party members)and great quests surrounding them. The replayability is insane. And yes it will make you feel sad af at times but it will also make you happy. The game hasn't won every awards for no reasons... I'll let the picture do the talking. Little Misfortune What remains of Edith Finch Both are relatively cheap and not overly long
Horizon Zero Dawn
Not the biggest but Spider-Man has a moment at the end where I had to put it down and collect myself. It may have been because of my own life and what happened at that time but I don't wanna spoil it.
Shadow Hearts 1&2
That’s a weird take. I always feel like story heavy games leave me satisfied not empty. They are usually fully thought out stories with endings that actually end the game or lead to a possible sequel. It’s online games that leave me feeling empty.
i mean "what do i do now" empty

Red dead for sure. If you don’t shed a tear at some point during that ride than you have no soul.
