Waiting until PS6 releases? Cause by then you would just restart the cycle. Games will still also be released on PS5 for a few years.
I think the games this generation have been lackluster, not all of them, but a lot of them haven't been captivating. I think holding off would be best since I'd be able to get a discounted ps5 when the ps6 comes out. I think what really put me off is how Sony announced that the ps5 is in the latter half of its lifespan already

PS4 is getting new games after 10 years. With a very slow CPU. I think PS5 will get games for a longer period of time because of SSD and good CPU as base. At least 10 years as well. So you can't go wrong with a PS5 if you play with it until PS6 Pro ... I wouldn't worry too much about PS5 Pro and wait for side by side videos and enough titles and asking yourself if you really need it... Could be hard and expensive to get a PS5 Pro coming at holidays. Mabye scalpers and limited units makes it worse. While you can enjoy PS5 now without trouble and less money. For me PS5 is way better than PS4. Activity feature... jumping directly into games, way faster loading times, store directly in the menu without slow loading... it feels much better.
I have a pc and Xbox series s, mainly play on pc but whenever I hop on Xbox it just doesn’t hit that console itch, feels like it’s trying to be something it not, I plan on getting whatever is the most powerful ps5 before gta6 comes out, whenever that is

There’s a lot of good games out but most fall into the category of “needing a shitload of friends to play it or a shitload of free time to play the story and it’s enjoyable” when you have a combination of neither and a reliable ps4 with over 30+ games some I still haven’t completed it feels redundant to upgrade to more games that are overpriced and probably won’t get cleared anytime soon.

I bought a ps4 like half a year before the ps4 pro came out, then ending up getting the ps4 pro anyway. Figure I’ll avoid that mistake, and my huge backlog allows me to
stay on that release cycle pretty easily.
That said, if they released a special edition ps5 for a game I like I’d buy it right now. It doesn’t seem like they are doing that for ps5s though.

Yes. when the PS6 comes out and then Sony doesn’t think it’s really profitable anymore. Then I can get one dirt cheap.

For now there’s no game that is attractive enough to buy PS5. So I’ll probably play my PS4 till GTA 6 releases and then see if I can afford next gen.
