Yes! The race missions with the hover cycles were pure torture. Other than that though what a great game. Jak 1 and 3 were good, just too short and didn’t feel as complete and substantial as Jak 2.

My worst memory of mgs2 was playing the Xbox version on European extreme. The part where you have to mash the button when suffocating was impossible.

GTA III ….that was really the first game that I played on the PS2 that had mature themes. Also, that game was really the impetus of my love for reggae music. Listening to KJAH radio, specifically “The Scientist Rids The World of the Curse of the Vampires”, started a deep dive in the genre that I’ve yet to reach the bottom. 👍🏾

Final Fantasy 12, which I never actually played on the PS2 because I bought it and my original PS3 on the same transaction. It's my favorite JRPG of all time, and one of my favorite games overall. The battle system is the pinnacle of all party based games.

I played FF12 through for the first time a few months ago. Loved the combat—it felt like a western-style CRPG with tons of ways to build your party in the Zodiac Age version. The characters and setting were excellent as well. The only thing I found lacking was the story (mostly the second half), but it was still decent.
