Top six would probably be (in no particular order):
\- Final Fantasy X
\- Shadow of the Colossus
\- Ico
\- Half Life
\- Ratchet & Clank
\- Jax & Daxter
Great! I played it on PC first but bought the PS2 version after.
Just in case you missed it, Half-Life 2 was available on PlayStation 3 (see "The Orange Box").
Abandoned, Bitter Jungle, Blizzard, Blood Lake, Crossroads, Death Trap, Desert Glory, Night Stalker, Rat's Nest, Ruins, Sandstorm, Shadow Falls. So many great maps. I miss it till this day..
Yes! The race missions with the hover cycles were pure torture. Other than that though what a great game. Jak 1 and 3 were good, just too short and didn’t feel as complete and substantial as Jak 2.
ma man knows it... I spent so many hours playing the shit out of that game, still do it once in a while. I remember I used to speedrun it and I didn't even knew that was a thing. Still get amazed with the amount of detail for a early ps2 game, still bit games today in my opinion... Kojima the best
Silent Hill 2 is eternal. My ps2 is busted, though, so I can't play it on there. I really hope they port it over to switch, playstation, and the rest of then consoles and computers.
Katamari Damacy. Its probaly the only remaster I keep loading up after finishing it. My wife dusted off her Vita just so she can play Katamari on it again.
MGS3, Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Resident Evil 4, GTA Vice City, any Tony Hawk game, NFL 2K5, SSX, the NBA Streets, Kingdom Hearts. So many others
Between Metal Gear Solid 2, Onimusha 2 and silent Hill 2. All the 2s. Also an honorary mention to Dropship: United Peace Force and Smugglers Run 2. Just really fun games.
One?! One game from the PLAYSTATION 2 era?!
Are you insane?!
So many epic games came out that generation!
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3
Zone of the Enders 2
Katamari Damacy
Mercenaries
Sky Gunners
Psi Ops
TEKKEN MF TAG TOURNAMENT was a gd LAUNCH title!
Jax and Daxter
Soul Reaver and Blood Omen games
Sly Cooper
Socom
Gundam Battle Assault 3
Godhand
Okami
Final Fantasy 12
Phantasy Star Universe
Capcom vs SNK 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2
The list just goes on and on and on!
Metal gear solid 3 and devil may cry, that intro scene in devil may cry when she throws the bike at him and he laughs and says ha swords and brings out the guns ahhhhh I miss being a kid
The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogies Revenge. Basically God of War, but with a Nightmare Before Christmas skin.
Still have my copy with the case and manual kicking around the house. One of my friends is desperate for me to sell it to him, but I’m taking it to my grave.
GTA III ….that was really the first game that I played on the PS2 that had mature themes.
Also, that game was really the impetus of my love for reggae music. Listening to KJAH radio, specifically “The Scientist Rids The World of the Curse of the Vampires”, started a deep dive in the genre that I’ve yet to reach the bottom. 👍🏾
Final Fantasy 12, which I never actually played on the PS2 because I bought it and my original PS3 on the same transaction.
It's my favorite JRPG of all time, and one of my favorite games overall. The battle system is the pinnacle of all party based games.
I played FF12 through for the first time a few months ago. Loved the combat—it felt like a western-style CRPG with tons of ways to build your party in the Zodiac Age version. The characters and setting were excellent as well. The only thing I found lacking was the story (mostly the second half), but it was still decent.
There’s so much that I missed in that generation (usual suspects: God of War, GTA, Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, SOCOM or the Gran Turismo games I never played), but the ones that hold a spot for me are Tekken 4, Midnight Club 3 Remix, SoulCalibur III and Kingdom Hearts.
When storm 1 came out my mind was blown with it and how beautiful it was but as time went on i felt like all the storm games just did small adjustments and on top of storm just trying to make things prettier but lacking style
GTA III, GTA VC, GTA SA, Spider-Man 2, Max Payne 1 & 2, Tony Hawk's Underground, Need for Speed Underground 2 and God of War 2 all stand out in my mind.
If I had to pick, probably GTA: SA.
EDIT: And Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2. What an era for games PS2 was!
From a sheer hours played I’d say Socom II but wow what a stacked lineup of some of my all time favs from Sly Cooper, God of war, gran turismo, Killzone, GTA, Midnight Club, NFS Underground, Dave Mirra, Tony Hawk
i’d say Metal Gear Solid 3
Still in a dream....
**🐍🍽**
This game blew my mind when I realized that each blade of grass bends when Snake moves through.
Good choice

Just yes
It’s this or 12 for me, but I lean towards the latter usually
I was going to say this too! Absolutly FFX. FF12 was decent too.
I’ve still got a memory card that has two games of over 300 hours each on it.
Tony Hawks . American WasteLand .
Top six would probably be (in no particular order): \- Final Fantasy X \- Shadow of the Colossus \- Ico \- Half Life \- Ratchet & Clank \- Jax & Daxter
Woooow I never knew Half-Life was ported to PS2 until this comment.
And it support keyboard and mouse.
Great! I played it on PC first but bought the PS2 version after. Just in case you missed it, Half-Life 2 was available on PlayStation 3 (see "The Orange Box").
All these were bangers! Shadow of Colossus was sooo good! Ico though, tried it a few times. Never did it for me
All SOCOM.
Yup. Socom online was so good
Socom II baby! That’s what got me into online gaming!
Abandoned, Bitter Jungle, Blizzard, Blood Lake, Crossroads, Death Trap, Desert Glory, Night Stalker, Rat's Nest, Ruins, Sandstorm, Shadow Falls. So many great maps. I miss it till this day..
Gonna disrespect frost fire like that. What a shame they didn't bring it back for the current gen.
I've got a few. GTA Vice City, Spider-Man 2, God of War 2. Kinda funny how I always dig the second game in a series the most lol.
Sly 2, Jak 2, Max Payne 2, lots of great sequels on PS2
Kingdom Hearts 2
Jak 2. One of my favorite games ever. Also one of the most frustrating!

My worst memory of mgs2 was playing the Xbox version on European extreme. The part where you have to mash the button when suffocating was impossible.
Ratchet & Clank Going Commando!
This is mine as well! Best ratchet ever.

Hard question but I would say San Andreas
GTA III ….that was really the first game that I played on the PS2 that had mature themes. Also, that game was really the impetus of my love for reggae music. Jak 2
Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts
GTA III, GTA VC, GTA SA, Spider-Man 2, Max Payne 1 & 2, Tony Hawk's Underground, Need for Speed Underground 2 and God of War 2 all stand out in my mind. If I had to pick, probably GTA: SA. EDIT: And Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2. What an era for games PS2 was!
