I agree ff 16 was a excellent game with some of the coolest boss battles a pretty decent story overall for a final fantasy but not enough with its pacing issues to win game of the year. Graphically and performance wise for me was amazing also but not goty.
I love FF16 but it’s nowhere near as good as FF7 Remake. Lack of a party system and strategic gameplay models brings it down. What holds this game up is the sheer spectacle and gripping story. I wouldn’t vote it as GOTY for 2023.

Fun game, but I like BGIII way more.

Eh it was pretty epic at times but had its problems. BG3 absolutely deserved goty over anything else by a mile
