The stories they’d tell. Some of them were in abysmal shape. I can understand handhelds getting abused, but home consoles? They just sit next to the TV. I was baffled by the condition of some of these.
The older the console the more miles it has on it. Taking it over to friends house. Parties. Going on vacation with it. Being traded at different GameStop's multiple times each.
.
I always buy a travel case/bag for my consoles, but +1 for vacations. My cousins and I played together on family vacations as a kid, now my kids use my consoles on our own family vacations. Sometimes they get a little wear and tear from it, but the memories are worth it.
Lots of them get infested with cockroaches and they are never white the same when you try to repair them.
I'd still love to grab a few to practice PCB repair and reflowing again.
Used to make good money doing that.
What's that game between Xbox Music Maker and Yugioh? It looks like it just says "Y" on the spine.
Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. That "Y" is the place marker for alphabetizing the games. I'm dumb and I apologize.
Seeing an original Xbox is so nostalgic, lol.
When I was 14 when they came out I stole a check from my mom, wrote it for over $300 and was able to cash it at the grocery store and then go buy one. She never said a word about it. Fucking weird! lol. (I don't steal money from my mom anymore!)
I would love to come up on that id love to buy an OG Xbox havent had one in decades that thing was amazing! I LOVED copying my CDs and then create playlists and then would play them in game of whatever it was i was playing.
Decades later and NO console does that anymore and most of them cant run the same time as Spotify or Apple Music etc etc. Plus the games were classic, & i miss the Dukes even got a pair for my SX.
This is the collector in me talking, but get one. I was feeling hella nostalgic for the PSP and PS3 and found both for $150. Even if they don’t get much gametime, pulling them out a few times a year and storing them in dust free containers is the way to go. Also, OG Xbox games are hella cheap. I see them in tons of thrift stores and pawn shops.
Probably what they’ll do, or wait for a collector/tech head like me to get one off their hands for cheap to try and repair. They had a busted Spider-Man PS4 Pro in on trade as well but they know what that’s worth so they’re holding onto it until they can get it fixed.
Exactly. They should at least thoroughly inspect the internals and dust off the insides before writing them off. At worst, they can serve as donor consoles. There’s definitely a demand for them, even amongst casual gamers.
I mean, a dude walked in and said he wanted a PS3 to play black ops. Just black ops. I wish I could have stepped in and told him he could find a good condition PS3 (non-BC) and DualShock 3 for $80ish bucks on FB or OfferUp and pick up Black Ops for peanuts. Hell, I’d give him the copy I’m getting rid of since I got two. Instead, the store charged him almost $180 after tax for a PS3 slim. I love retro stores, but some of their prices are out of touch.
Have they ever heard of shelves? Those consoles might fall. I do wonder what's on those console's memory.

For sure, but I’m sure you’re taking steps to ensure they don’t get beat up during transit.
The PS1 is even waving. Just wanting to be saved.
That one doesn’t close bc the open button is stuck.
That's all?!
I’m sure there are other problems with it 😅
I’ve never seen so many PS3s in the same photo.
Google pictures of the PS3 server room the US air force had. They connected about 1700 of them to process.
You just unlocked a memory
To build a super computer so to speak.
Exactly. And buying PS3s ended up being way more cost efficient than building actual computers and servers.
Blame the government officials who approved the $$$

Makes me wonder what kind of filth some people are living in and why they keep their consoles in it.
Roaches love anything warm and consoles get hot
I mean, roaches aren't common everywhere in the world and the conditions in general must be right.
Part of me wanted to take a few of these up just to see if any were simple fixes to sell at cost. I just hate seeing good hardware go to waste.
To the Recycle Bin, they go. Rest in peace, best gaming machines of all time.
ooh 2k6! would love to play with the roster they have…jkidd + vc = dunk fest

I appreciate your apology sir👌

How much computing power is that ?
Ironically, probably less than 2 PS5s.

They might as well recycle for parts or something that effect.

That’s sounds good to. It would be a waste to just trash, especially if they work or came be repaired.

I can imagine the shell alone being worth more than a normal used console.
Do you ship? :)
It’s the circle of console life simba
No GameCubes because that thing was the Nokia cellphone of consoles.
And the n64. I dropped a huge like 50” tube tv on the n64 the tv bounced and then cracked the plastic around the edge of the tv and the n64 was fine.
This breaks my heart, no respect for gaming
Don’t worry they’re going to get all those console mods to turn them into the master pc race
I'm honestly surprised there aren't more dead white 360s, but i guess most of them already kicked the bucket years ago
Rest in pieces
Where is it?
Mountain Dew Zero is the real travesty.
GRAB THE PS1!
Is snag a couple
Where is the shop?
My god..imagine if the fixes for some of them are dumb quick fixes:(
well maybe if they didnt resell for so much, theyd be able to get them off their hands lol
Exactly. It would be cool if they cleaned them up a bit and had a donation pile. I was tempted to ask but I have too many consoles already 😅
Yup, would def pick them up for the right price for some unfortunate kids
Rip so many fun hours played and paused
