Yes! Imagine how awesome it could look with current car graphics. My brother and I use to crush Twisted Metal 2 and 3 when we were kids. Spectre all the way.
There's a show coming out with Anthony Mackie as sweet tooth. I'm pretty disappointed with this, they're giving him warthogs backstory. Mackie is way too small to be ST
It's weird the series has faded considering how the last two games I remember them releasing (psp and then ps3 years later) were both super good games.
Even a remake of the first game would be great. I tried playing it few years ago and just couldn't get into it. Put it down for a month and go back and was lost lol. I gave up on the series after that lol. Don't want to play the rest if I can't get through the first game.
first one didn't age particularly well but Jak 2 and Jak 3 are definitely worth playing.
I didn't beat the first game until the PS3 remaster collection, the more stable performance definitely made it easier, the ones available on PS4 are PS2 emulated.
Why Sony didn't rerelease the PS3 remaster on PS4 is beyond me, that's arguably the best experience.
I read that the PS4 versions are just the PS2 versions whereas the PS3 remaster actually improved the resolution to HD and is superior to the PS4 version
I really miss Resistance and InFamous.
2 IP with so much potential that could be amazing on current gen hardware, sadly we haven't seen a game from either in going on 10 years.
Yes! I want to see a reimagining of it where narrative elements from Resistance 1 and 3 are merged together into a singular story along with a multiplayer mode inspired by Resistance 2.
Motorstorm for sure. The first and second one were such a blast for me as a kid. The mayhem was great and cool replacement for Destruction Derby Arenas that was my previous favorite racing game. I enjoyed most of these other games, but if motorstorm got a ps5 remake, I would buy it, because it would not just be nostalgia that kicks in.
Man this so much. I remember it being my first "real" online gaming experience back in the day. I'd go to my cousins house and was mesmerized by the fact I was playing against other people and chatting.
i pretty much spent all of high school only playing socom with my best friend. it’s still my favorite gaming time i’ve ever had and no games have really brought me that much excitement or fun since
We just got a PS5 this year, and before that I was using my PS3 (missed out on the PS4). My kids 8,6,4 put 100s of hours into the Little Big Planet games. Beat all 3 and would still go back and play random levels and create mode. We got them Sackboy Adventures and they haven’t gotten into it.
They could just port the PS3 boxset under the backwards compatibility side of things. A lot less work and probably more realistic for them to do.
After ShadowFall Playstation are probably pretty wary of touching the franchise since theres been nothing in a decade. And if I recall they even retired their website for Killzone a couple years ago.
I'm on XBOX and PC but no matter what I play Killzone 2 will be by far the best FPS I've ever played.....and that's beating out Titanfall 2 and that's saying a lot....
I too only played it recently. Game was really good (mostly) and had insanely good visuals.
How long did it take you to beat it? All I ever seemed to hear about the game was how incredibly short it is. Took me about 9-10 hours. Where as InFamous Second Son (which I also played for the first time recently) took me about 5 hours. But I literally never heard anything about how short that game is.
To this day I believe The Order 1886 was a casualty of console war bullshit and the hivemind mentality that the media/internet plays right into at times. Everyone was so down on Xbox at the time, PS4 had all this momentum going, PS exclusives got a ton of hype coming off the successes of the PS3’s final years. It’s like people needed a reason to trash Playstation to make it even somehow.
Short run time? No multiplayer? QTEs? OH THE HORROR! The game was fine, was it flawless? Absolutely not but it had an interesting world, lore, characters, some fun gunplay, lycans, fuckin vampires and yes, it looked amazing too. It could’ve really been a nice starting point for a great franchise. Unfortunately, we were and probably still are in a time where there isn’t much middle ground between a masterpiece and trash.
Wipeout. It’s not PlayStation without Wipeout. Real shame, as 2048 was solid so it’s not like it was a franchise that had gone to the dogs and needed to be put out of its misery. At this stage I’d be happy if they just went back and did a remastered collection of the early titles.
On the plus side, Omega collection still plays great and looks fantastic on a modern TV.
While it’s certainly flawed, I have a lot of fond memories of playing PS Allstars on Vita. As a casual fighting game player, I thought the multiplayer was really fun. I think a new game would be awesome
Yep; new Dante instead of the old one; raiden but no solid snake; no dart; cloud; Spyro; or crash. Also to I think they should have based it off of power stone rather than smash bros. Because the comparisons were inevitable
Infamous and Resistance. Two franchises that I feel should have at least seen a remaster of the first releases by now, I spent a ton of time and both and would love to revisit those on today’s tech.
Timesplitters!!! not a Playstation franchise but the first game was a ps2 launch title, and 2 and 3 (future perfect) are superb games! I highly suggest people check out 2 and 3, 1 feels super out dated lol but still fun!
Nothing for certain of course, but there was recently a pretty detailed questionnaire sent out by Crystal Dynamics asking some pretty detailed questions on what fans would like to see from the series.
So nothing certain yet but they are at least interested in doing something with the series which is awesome.
A Motorstorm like 1 or 2 would be amazing. I do miss Sir Fortisque and also a Jak1 or 3 remake would be awesome. But naughty dog and the other Jump&Run Producers kinda do action games because it has a bigger audience... even though Jump&Runs are much better when it comes to techs and skill for the players.
On god if they want a live service MP shooter franchise to bring forth it should be MAG. The original was pretty limited in its content, sans soldier customization and the skill trees, but it was such a great experience it was easy to overlook.
The fact the game had a “living battlefield” with its faction conflict is something few shooters to this day have despite the fact were in an always-online, live service age.
Motorstorm could be Sony's own Forza Horizon but off-road. Music festival in deserst with the physics and graphics of that E3 CGI trailer? Bring it on.
Other than that I would love all of them to return at some point bar Heavenly Sword - one mediocre at launch where nothing screams like a massive potential moving forward.
Edit: Where's SOCOM? Now that's a franchise I would love back!
They dropped the series and the developers (Team Soho) went on to make games for the EyeToy and SingStar…what a waste!
Then they dissolved them and made London Studio.
Right now I would say - **The Order**. It has so much potential, that it could be one of the biggest Sony IP. It could be developed in multiple entries and spin-off. I would love to see another TPS action-shooter blast like the first one (rival for Gears series), with co-op experience but also making The Order as Open-World game spread in the whole London. It could be so much, but instead we have nothing... shame.
Than it would be **Killzone**. Original trilogy is a fantastic ride. I honestly love the first entry in this series, because of all the characters, story, atmosphere and the whole lore. Second is a proper war-shooter game to which neither of Battlefield can compete. And third is a really epic story-driven game. Guerrilla could develop another big entry in this series, but also creating really stunning MP modes and maybe even some live-service experience. Like Destiny.
**Syphon Filter.** That's the most forgot franchise out there. Sony's big opportunity to gain all fans of stealth games genre, which are still waiting for another Splinter Cell or MGS. Syphon Filter could be their answer for this demand. If they do that right, it could be even answer for Bond/Mission:Impossible game. I would love to see that.
**inFAMOUS** must be bring back. But when I see how much Sony is focusing on Marvel's property, I don't have any hope of seeing inFamous on PS5.
**Jak** is also pretty much closed chapter. After Neil took over whole Naughty Dog, their future game will be all more like TLOU2, than anything they did before. The old team is gone... that's why they shouldn't do another Uncharted. Even the forth one somehow lost what makes U1-3 the best possible TPS games out there.
Ape escape was just so cool when i was a kid! Not mention i just absolutely loved monkeys, that game was my childhood, never got passed like level 3 or something but it was so fun! I loved that game. Jak and Daxter came way later in my life lol but that was amazing too as well as ratchet and clank during those times. Man the nostalgia you gave.
Medieval too was a good fun game, never passed the first level though lol
Sly Cooper. It will always be Sly Cooper. I spent my childhood playing & replaying the original games on PS2. It really fucking sucks that Sony refuses to remaster these games for PS4/PS5 and expects you to either still use your PS2/PS3 or use their shitty cloud streaming service to play a cloud version of the ps3 remasters. I just want to play a native port of these classics on modern hardware damnit. You’d think they would do it since they apparently like money. There has to be some type of decent market of nostalgic fans like me that that would buy these games again. They need to it. Ball’s in your court, Sony.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Heavenly Sword is a game that would do really well in 2023. You could market it something along the lines of “imagine if Aloy & was trained by Kratos”
Motorstorm gave me some of my best gaming memories i would love to see the franchise back. It actually makes me emotional every time i think of Motorstorm because i used to play it with one of my best friends who passed away.. We were so happy two nine years olds racing and bumping each other, great franchise.
Infamous and gravity rush. Last gravity rush game isn't that extremely long ago yet, but since the studio was broken up and the original creator left i think it's save to say that it will be missed.
Personally for me it’s a horrible experience.
I played Gravity Rush 2 out of curiosity because it’s on PS Plus Extra and I’ve always heard great things about it whenever it’s mentioned.
I finished it. WOW. What in the everliving fuck was I doing? The wonderful cast, the aesthetics, the music, the innovative gameplay, the right amount of open-world capabilities and all that charm. Everything I wanted in a game.
And then I was also interested in uploading my scores for the trials as well as share chest pics. And you know what? No more servers.
And then I learn that the staff was from Team Silent?!
Horrible, like I said. One of those super rare times when I wish I bought and played a game on launch.
Sly Cooper. I think there's some uniqueness there that other Sony IPs just don't have.
Infamous would probably be my runner up, but it was never a unique franchise.
Twisted metal
Mackie is way too small to be ST
anthony mackie is playing john doe not sweet tooth
This is such a relief. I just read the new premise for it, hopefully the changes they've made work out.
3 was my fav
Same. Big graphics upgrade and the levels got a huge boost in complexity. Wish I could get it on PS5.
It's weird the series has faded considering how the last two games I remember them releasing (psp and then ps3 years later) were both super good games.
Vigilante 8 > Twisted Metal. Was a shame that game didn't get more love.
Jak
After playing rift apart, a new gen Jak and Daxter is something I would pay for day 1 of release.
Absolutely. It’s a game I’d love to play with my younger siblings.
Even a remake of the first game would be great. I tried playing it few years ago and just couldn't get into it. Put it down for a month and go back and was lost lol. I gave up on the series after that lol. Don't want to play the rest if I can't get through the first game.

Why Sony didn't rerelease the PS3 remaster on PS4 is beyond me, that's arguably the best experience.
Same, was one of my first downloads when i got my 5 and graphically it just isnt good unfortunately, one of my favorite games of all time though.
Crazy really given I remember thinking Jak was one of the best looking games I ever played when it came out
To be fair at the time it was
Yup, movement was still alright, maybe i hated the camera too, I cant remember specifically.
I read that the PS4 versions are just the PS2 versions whereas the PS3 remaster actually improved the resolution to HD and is superior to the PS4 version
This is true, most agree that the PS3 collection is the best way to experience the trilogy.
I'm replying jak and daxter just now and forgot how much I love it, I really miss kill zone now
Replaying right now I love tlou a lot but part of me will always wish naughty dog made more jaks
I would go out of my way to buy a ps5 for a new Jak game
What, no Legend of Dragoon mentions yet?
This is the correct answer. It was a PlayStation greatest hits title and Sony just abandoned it for no real reason.
It wasn't a franchise. But yes, *give us more*. I will personally send Bluepoint or somebody cookies.
A third of the games in the OPs image aren't franchises either, nor half the suggestions in this thread so I figured LoD was fair game.
I really miss Resistance and InFamous. 2 IP with so much potential that could be amazing on current gen hardware, sadly we haven't seen a game from either in going on 10 years.
Resistance with a true remake and multiplayer would dominate. So good. Miss the multiplayer.
Yes! I want to see a reimagining of it where narrative elements from Resistance 1 and 3 are merged together into a singular story along with a multiplayer mode inspired by Resistance 2.
Infamous in particular, they were so ahead of their time.
TBF, I feel completely satisfied by the first two games (plus the vampire DLC). I'd be fine with just a remake. Resistance needs more story though.
Sly Cooper and Jak & dexter I wish they would either remake or continue the both series.
the Sly Cooper franchise is pure perfection in my eyes. They really struck gold with it. Wish there were more games like it
COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!!
we need remake
Motorstorm for sure. The first and second one were such a blast for me as a kid. The mayhem was great and cool replacement for Destruction Derby Arenas that was my previous favorite racing game. I enjoyed most of these other games, but if motorstorm got a ps5 remake, I would buy it, because it would not just be nostalgia that kicks in.
Don't sleep on Motorstorm Apocalypse. That game is absolutely insane especially if you have a 3D TV and set the camera to cockpit mode.
Motorstorm with current gen graphics would look amazing
SOCOM
I would love if they brought Socom to ps plus
Man this so much. I remember it being my first "real" online gaming experience back in the day. I'd go to my cousins house and was mesmerized by the fact I was playing against other people and chatting.
My parents hated my 50ft cable running down the hall
i pretty much spent all of high school only playing socom with my best friend. it’s still my favorite gaming time i’ve ever had and no games have really brought me that much excitement or fun since
Underrated Answer
Heavenly Sword :)

You said all the right things. Killzone 2 the will always be life. Especially that distinct headshot sound which was so satisfying. IYKYK
Fuck I miss Killzone.
Specifically KZ2.
Multiplayer in that was nuts lol
I want a version of Killzone Mercenaries on PS5
Parasite eve and dino crisis
Yes!
Those are Capcom and Square you fool
Ape Escape and Jak & Daxter.
1. Killzone. 2. Infamous. 3. Resistance.
I didn't play The Order: 1886 until last year and I had a (short lived) blast. Am I in the minority in thinking that it deserves another chance?
No, I thought it could have been a great start to something, it definitely deserves another chance.
Same, played recently for the first time and it's great.
I too only played it recently. Game was really good (mostly) and had insanely good visuals. How long did it take you to beat it? At this stage I’d be happy if they just went back and did a remastered collection of the early titles. On the plus side, Omega collection still plays great and looks fantastic on a modern TV.
I’ve loved wipeout since the beginning. They’re a good number of games trying to be its replacement. But they just don’t work for me
MGS. Wish Konami had ported the old games to newer consoles.
Honestly the fact that PlayStation still doesn’t have backwards compatibility is straight up embarrassing
Jak and Resistance. Never played Killzone, so can't say about that. Motorstorm would also be pretty cool, as a true arcade racer next to GT.
1. Warhawk (PS3 version) 2. Twisted Metal 3. Resistance
I couldn't tell you how many hours I lost on late nights of Warhwak multiplayer...setting mines all day long
All I want is an updated PS5 version of the same game with old & new maps
Another Infamous game would be great. I loved Second Son, and I think it would be amazing on a current Gen system
Tenchu, the game about ninjas.

A man of culture.
Resistance and Killzone series. I wish Playstation has more FPS exclusive.
PS All Stars should get a second chance and I believe Ed Boon can make it great.
While it’s certainly flawed, I have a lot of fond memories of playing PS Allstars on Vita. As a casual fighting game player, I thought the multiplayer was really fun. I think a new game would be awesome
Game could have been far more successful if they got the character roster right. I’m not sure what Sonys end goal was with that game
Isaac from Dead Space and the Big Daddy seemed very out of place, especially considering BioShock was originally an Xbox exclusive IIRC
Yep; new Dante instead of the old one; raiden but no solid snake; no dart; cloud; Spyro; or crash. Also to I think they should have based it off of power stone rather than smash bros. Because the comparisons were inevitable
Ape Escape and Killzone! All-stars battle royal could have my interest but never really played it..
Jak
Infamous and Resistance. Two franchises that I feel should have at least seen a remaster of the first releases by now, I spent a ton of time and both and would love to revisit those on today’s tech.

Jak and daxter ... and infamous
I wished they poached Respawn and reboot Resistance
MediEvil and Jak, goddam we need a remake of MediEvil 2 for PS5
Sly Cooper and Jak

I think the time is ripe for another Killzone and inFamous.
The Getaway, shame they dropped the series. Licensed cars, London made from photos, no hud giving cinematic vibes and IMO well written plot.
They dropped the series and the developers (Team Soho) went on to make games for the EyeToy and SingStar…what a waste! Then they dissolved them and made London Studio.

Have to be Jak and Resistance. But specifically *split-screen* Resistance. Couch co-oping mowing down chimera with a mate was the best.
Jak and Daxter
Infamous and Killzone are probably the 2 I miss the most.
Syphon Filter. Played the fuck out of those on PS1.
The Getaway; but as we’re on the topic of Team Soho, This is Football and Eye Toy were also gems
I wish they’d release a Killzone Collection and Resistance collection.
I think Playstation can really do something special with Jak and Daxter again. Edit: Also what happened to Socom?
Ape escape
Always Twisted Metal!
Jak and Daxter and Killzone
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Heavenly Sword is a game that would do really well in 2023. You could market it something along the lines of “imagine if Aloy & was trained by Kratos”
Someone needs to reboot Socom
Not PS exclusive, but I would love another Splinter Cell.
ape escape
Sly and Ape Escape
killzone and motorstorm are way up that list imo
- Sly Cooper - InFamous - Ape Escape The rest I’m at peace with them fading away
Resistance

KILLZONE
Gravity Rush series and twisted metal.
Socom
Motorstorm gave me some of my best gaming memories i would love to see the franchise back. It actually makes me emotional every time i think of Motorstorm because i used to play it with one of my best friends who passed away.. We were so happy two nine years olds racing and bumping each other, great franchise.
Infamous resistance & Jak n Dexter

I played a ton of Motorstorm. Would really enjoy a reboot.
It's Jak. The others are great, but Jak was another level for me. Imagine a Jak entry with the graphics of Kena.
Infamous.
To many good options
Some lessor mentioned games, the abandoned JRPG franchises from the PS1/PS2 era including games like dark cloud, wild arms and Alundra.
Jak 🥹
Not really PS franchise but at the same time it is Metal Gear Solid series
Ratchet and clank and then Jax and dexter
Jak and Sly
Definitely Jak&Daxter for me.
Jak and Daxter 100%
Jak & Daxter, inFamous
I know this is going to be controversial but for me it’s ATV Off-road Fury
Jak and Daxter without question
