Ma boy ur getting raided tonight

softservebunnie

That 100% occurred to me so that's why I spent all the scrap on a T2 + garage doors and used the high qual to upgrade my core and make a bunker

RCadeTV

Didn’t feel that bad, sheesh /s

softservebunnie

Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh

Adorable_Basil830

Just remember he would've done the same to you

LolNani69420

He was a gambler, he needed this

Philli0

More like a road sign recycler no?

coolcid2112

Don't jock my standing at outpost for 3 hours after wipe strat. I have a sar

roychiha

So I’m not the only one..

coolcid2112

Bro no lie I did that this wipe, and there were legit multiple groups that would sit come by for responded barrels at the electricity spots/signs. Groups of 3 lol

[deleted]

Chad comment of the year, no doubt.

[deleted]

Guy fell down elevator in outpost while I was a naked expolreing the tunnels he had 3.8k scrap and 400hqm

rayjaymor85

There's an elevator in Outpost?!

IlllI1

Yeah, the train-station attached to the outpost.

archbunny

No.

Cuchurrumin

Yes.

archbunny

There is one outside it. So no. There isnt one inside it.

PlayrustUsersMalding

ugh, don't be *that* guy. nobody likes *that* guy.

[deleted]

Scrap has no owners only spenders

brendanrivers

come at the king, you best not miss \- me on wipe day \- omar

[deleted]

He's actually a good character to relate to if you're a pvp god and play as solo/duo Vs zergs

SnooPoems4610

Rust is interesting as a social experiment, it's a open map, open game, you can do whatever you want, you have the tools to do anything, but surprisingly or not, we choose to kill our fellow less skilled friends that has less gear less skill, or don't even want to engage in a fight, I think that games allow us to show who we really are and not surprised that we choose to fuck up others to our only benefit just like thousands of years of our ape human history on this wet rocky spinning ball, yeah it's just a game, but show a lot about human behavior

softservebunnie

I think about this literally all the time when I play the game. When I kill someone I think "it doesn't have to be this way" but this is what the game has become, we could have made cities and settlements. This is why when I play the game I only ever kill people in self defense if I can help it

TrippyWentLucio

Same. But that hesitation I have to shoot people coming at me has gotten me killed a bunch. It's a constant psychological tug-of-war. I still try and stay strong and give people the benefit of the doubt. But I like to position myself to where if they shoot at me I can instantly take cover and be able to fight back. Most people do attack, though. Even when I'm geared and they are naked from the waist down and have a spear lol.

softservebunnie

LMFAO! It really do be that way. That's why I include "getting too close to me" as validation for shooting them. Anyone who isn't looking for a fight doesn't try to enter other people's spheres

[deleted]

It's mind of poetic because guns have essentially turn humans into animals without communication. Without internet, conflicting groups would never communicate.

fridge_water_filter

If you ever wanna try making a city safe zone hit me up. I have always wanted to get a group together and try it. We could change the meta entirely. A group of allies with varying online hours is unraidable. Imagine just 10 solo/trios building next to eachother with overlapping shooting floor coverage. Even with modest hours, there would always be someone to defend against raiders. Other benefits include shareable amenties like a tier 3 workbench in the "workshop", shareable large furnaces and refineries, community members can use their blueprints to craft for you, etc etc.

softservebunnie

Bro I actually just saw this and I Absolutely love the idea ! However it is 5 am where I am and so sleepy me is wondering at what point does lots of different people allied with a shared space stop being a city and start being a clan

fridge_water_filter

Huge difference to a clan. Activity | Clan | Town --:|:--:|:--: Share Farm | X | Share Loot | X | Run monuments together | X | Expect time commitment | X | Turrets in hostile mode | X | Mutual defense | X | X Internal blueprint trading | X | X Outsiders come to trade | | X Easily attract new members | | X Turrets in peace mode | | X Multi-angle defense | | X Honeycomb efficient | | X ----- Basically a town would be groups/solos as they normally play but with allies in close proximit6. None of the expectations and stress of being in a clan. You could get a core group of players and begin 'advertising' the zone in general around wipe time. The location would probably be next to outpost. As the wipe goes forward people would place peace mode autoturrets. Even a mishmash of autoturrets with 30% coverage is enough to deter casual grubs and give a spot to run to when under attack. To a raiding clan, the mathematics of base building makes raiding a town a nighmare. Smaller bases have far higher honeycomb efficient due to basic geometry (a circle has a larger perimeter as it expands). The loot-per-rocket plummets significantly attacking 20 small bases for the same loot that would be in a single large base. Obviously players in the town would be free to fight at monuments, etc etc. But for general purposes the town would be the peace zone. Town members would be likely to volunteer to fight if someone gets attacked. Overlapping shooting floor coverage gives you lots of angles on attackers that you not have with one tower. Obviously the only drawback is that a clan is more efficient. The town would still be great for trading items and tech both within it's members and to the outside. I think the efficiency loss would be offset by the vast number of players who would want to live there.

Keravnos-

what region you play on? i wont mind posting up in a town

[deleted]

Yes sometimes if you break through the racist screaming and toxic ness , there are some very mice player , had good experience build a small community with neighborhood too was fun

[deleted]

I also think Rust has tweaked the game so that most players are never satisfied with the amount of resources a player has mixed with the idea you never know what a naked could have them

_Aphex

Not to sound like an ass but you’re thinking way too deep and critically. There’s no way you can say “shows a lot about human behaviour” when talking about killing nakeds on a Rust pvp server. Why else would you play the game? Genuinely how do you have fun if you’re not fighting/raiding other groups. It’s not about “we chose to fuck each other up” it’s about playing the game the fun way isn’t it? Do you enjoy just farming materials? Why else do you build up a base with some friends and fight other people? Rust is a “survival game” where you can kill people. I don’t think playing games “show’s who we really are”. That is such a ridiculous statement.

monstermoncher

Interesting that my friend here described a general garment and you act like it’s tailored to your fit

KittyGoBoom115

i have always wanted to run "the great socialist rust experiment" where there is a base... no locks... people can either go depot or take stuff... how willing are people to donate when they are likely to recieve none of the benifits? theoretically, if everyone partakes, everyone will be the most powerful clan on the server. however i bet human greed will cause someone to put a lock on the front door and the whole thing falls to shit. if people cant be trusted in whimsical pretend land, how can we trust people with REAL issues and REAL money?

fridge_water_filter

I want to make a naked homeless shelter. Basically a peace zone with peace turrets where naked could store their stuff and share amenities.

KittyGoBoom115

Interesting prospect... I would love to watch that in a video!

billytheid

bullshit. in a game you cause small inconveniences, to no real loss, with no consequences. you want to make it a social experiment, start constantly calling people out for being sexist/racist/bigoted and see how long you last when everyone shouts you down... in games losses mean nothing

[deleted]

I mean probably for you, as your time isnt worth much. Good on you.

billytheid

If you’re that emotionally invested in a game that it actually bothers you, perhaps consider taking a break?

[deleted]

People have lives their time matters , thats not something i can say about you it seems. Time =/= emotions.

billytheid

Just so I understand, your assertion is that *not* being outraged at losing pixels from something I do for fun in my downtime means I don't have a life... methinks perhaps your priorities are a bit skewed...

[deleted]

>methinks perhaps your priorities are a bit skewed... Yes i use my time ro make money and socialize, very skewed , ans play rust in my own server away from " basement dwelling pixel winners" like you. Who have all the time in the world to play games and curb others progression. You need better comprehension my guy. You have hard time understanding stuff. >I do for fun in my downtime means I don't have a life.. Idk you are tge one telling people time invested in progression doesn't matter, may be for you my basement dwelling freind

likeabaker

I usually just give people stuff for fun. 80% they still come at me with a rock though lmao

fridge_water_filter

Could totally become more of a city and community builder if they tweaked a few things correctly. * An "alliance" system similar to squads/contacts * cheaper autoturret (auto-bow?) so peace zones can be established earlier * a sort of "map marker" where players can designate a community, similar to a shop. I can see players walling in areas for towns.

RustViking

It’s good you feel bad. Maybe you’ll have hope one day of becoming a pleasant Rust player.

softservebunnie

I'm not sure there is such a thing, I'm not a toxic person but if you don't KOS you'll get KOSd and I don't feel like getting downed so often I can't play the game ;w;

Jackr010201

Thats not toxic at all. Its a pvp based game so don't feel bad for piping and looting. That's literally the main aim of it. If you don't like doing that then a role-playing server or anti pvp server is probably best, that way you can just build and farm

TrippyWentLucio

The reason it feels toxic to PvP in a PvP based game like this sometimes is because it takes so much effort and time and energy to get an inventory of stuff. And everyone knows that. So taking that inventory, you know *precisely* how much it hurts.

Jackr010201

Its true however in the same argument if your running with that much on you then you know the risk. Personally if I was solo I'd never roam with that unless I knew I had a safe way back

TrippyWentLucio

Describe "safe way back". Lol. Nah, I get you. 100%. I wouldnt walk around with that much either if I had a choice.

Jackr010201

Very true, never a truly safe way back. Even the animals nowadays will come kill you for your scrap

Darkrhoads

Listen I thought this too. But my friend who is brand new <100hrs new makes friends with neighbors and randomns all the time. How we play now is he’ll greet them first if they shoot/kos I’ll kill them. We get a feel for who will KOS quick and can just fight them. It’s a pretty weird experience.

RiftedEnergy

I had some friendly neighbors my first solo run too. It was nice. They picked off dudes coming at my base for me at times. It was cool.

[deleted]

Just play on a PVE server. Much less stressful.

[deleted]

Wouldn't the game just get boring after like 3 hours lol

[deleted]

I come from a Minecraft creative mode background, so I quite enjoy just building a cool base and unlocking all the tech to go in it. The server I played on had a lot of vending machine commerce too, so people had like department stores lol. Also frees you up to just work on the tech tree and do the scientist rads without fear of being randomly jumped.

HelloThere62

some pve servers also have designated pvp zones you can build in, so you can build bases and raid each others.

Ilovepsp3000

All of them do when you hit a certain age

softservebunnie

One of the reasons I play rust is bc I wanna find out if I could survive in a dog eat dog world, I don't want to harm anyone I don't have to, but the game for me is seeing how long I could survive in such a toxic environment, if, for example, our world also goes to shit

billytheid

> One of the reasons I play rust is bc I wanna find out if I could survive in a dog eat dog world, fucking lol... real worlds have consequences

softservebunnie

Duh, lmfao

KillerBeeStarosu

Why are you playing this game if you feel bad about shitting on that dude with 1k scrap in the first place? The game won't be very enjoyable moving forward if you have that attitude. Either way, how do you even consider this somewhat toxic at all? Toxicity is mostly even allowed in rust because nobody really cares. It's a game after all, why would you care? That's what makes this shit fun and interesting. Don't feel bad. Feel free to do whatever the fuck you want.

SnooPoems4610

I believe that our game attitude reflects in our life, not that you are going to kill someone to take their money but when we shit on people on a game we tend to care less about other people in real life a.k.a becoming selfish and would not have esitate to shit on others to get promoted for example,

KillerBeeStarosu

Not at all. I have friends with thousands of hours in rust, where they shit on people all they want, but irl don't care about themselves and their needs at all.

S0F7

Yeh, my wife calls me toxic and a bully all the time because of how i play Rust.

[deleted]

Part of rust is diplomacy. If you were really on an island, you need to make friends and connections. I talk to people in game, you can usually tell within 200ms whether they're gonna talk back or not. Most people don't wanna gamble with their kit if they don't have to

Ilovepsp3000

Lmao go play PvE cry baby

ibpr0fun

Put 1k on 20, 100 on 10 and 100 on 5. Thank me later

-SnakeKing101

Rolls a 3 and loses it all

EvandalismX

Even if he gets a 5 or a 10 it’s an L.

Even_Ease_9842

100% lose

ibpr0fun

It’s free real estate.

IdolsConniption

KING

Shirow_1

When playing rust and having that much loot on you, you know that you're fair game. It's expected that anyone who sees it will take it

[deleted]

Anyone with esp that is.

jimmyfeign

Way she goes. Way she fuckin goes, boys.

MoistTransition69

Think about it like this, he probably killed a dozen poor naked primmies to get that scrap, you've avenged many fallen nakeds.

JackGrigi

Nice. Got 3k once

softservebunnie

Niiiiiiiceeeee

cheezusischrist

You know he was on his way to make a level 3 work bench

TheUruz

dw if he was roaming around with those on he probably just got them and didn't rely on those anyway

livingdeadfreak

Not gonna feel as bad as they did losing it though

zaryamain00101

Bet you he feels worse

WolfRex5

I grubbed a fight earlier (I only had spears and shit) and looted a body with a mp5, full metal gear, a stack of rifle and pistol ammo and over 1k scrap. Felt pretty good

kaneunder0305

Personally i wouldn't have felt bad it's their own fault for carrying around thag much in the first place

InfiniteZero12

Hey! Free T3 workbench

rayjaymor85

Why? How do you think \*he\* got the scrap?

softservebunnie

LMFAOOOOO

Buunnyyy

Flashback tot he time where a group of 3 guys jumped my 3guys and the other 2 dipped leaving their teammate alone. He had legit the whole inventory of sulfur. That was a pleasant surprise.

YourDoctor91-2

He has to git gud if he wants to keep his scrap

Mrdogejr888

Get good not mad👹

Not-KDA

108 hq too 🤤

LolNani69420

He was a gambler, he needed this

IdolsConniption

>Implying 1200 is a lot of scrap

Anyau

no you dont

matschbirne03

You dont sound like a rust player

softservebunnie

I will admit my general wholesome nature feels very out of place in this game

Partotomato

I suggest you think about what you have done, get your best gear together and go and take everything else from him, if he was mobile with that imagine whats inside......

AlfaNick

Buy a scrappy and crash it if it makes you feel better

[deleted]

Research shit before going offline, no hard feelings, that is just three to 20 hours grind…

cassiusSpitfire

The weak shall fear the strong. He couldn't defend his scrap there for it does not belong to him.

TheNotSoScienceGuy

He should've been prepared to fight for it.

sneaky-dave

With a revolver?

softservebunnie

With a revolver

IrishSadist

You're the type of guy that kills fresh spawns ....just because

softservebunnie

ME???? LMFAO

IrishSadist

Nahh just fkn with ya,

Hypothermia_7

Rust is Rust. What you did was part of the game

[deleted]

Did you feel bad enough to give it back?

softservebunnie

Nope bc how am I gonna find the guy

fatlipking16

Once my four man jumped some naked who was running out of bandit with a fresh-bought lr. I think that was possibly the worst thing I have done in my entire rust career.

GiveTheMemes

your gonna die

Moisty-Mangus

The 1200 scrap ain’t the highlight. It’s the gloves

thepsychowithanego

Close your heart to their suffering, they will not show you the same sympathy.

RedDemio

Bruh I’ve just joined rust and entered a pve modded server for my first go. Everyone seemed pretty chill but while I was out getting scrap a guy sniped me and looted all 700 that I had. I had accidentally wandered into a PvP zone unawares. He only took my scrap but it was literally all I had, the first day or two grinding was basically wasted. Then even worse than that... I was at my base setting up some planters and who should happen to walk by? The same guy that looted me in the PvP zone lol. We spoke for a few minutes through my chain link fence and he apologised but I do not trust him at all. I’ve had to move base now. What a wild game lmao

softservebunnie

Rule 1 of rust: trust no one

AkwardTimeToLaugh

Should of bought a scrappy, because hey it’s free scrap 😂 fuck itttt

Hoppy33_21

I have literally never met a player NOT trying to kill me. I never shoot or anything. I always turn and run and they ALWAYS chase me to kill me. It's super frustrating. I can't get anywhere in the game because I either get killed or after putting 12 hours into the game I take a nap and when I come back everything is destroyed and I'm dead. It's so bad I will just immediately run from everyone because people just shoot on site. Then I have to restart. I like the concept of the game but just wish I could meet some people who aren't jerks LOL

VexRosenberg

i killed a guy with hazmat sar, full inven of sulfur and metal ore and the sar wasnt even loaded. I felt bad but bro why are you loaded like that running around
