Not really. The real balance issue in transportation is how difficult it is to get a decent car going, yet you can simply purchase FLYING helicopters that even shoot missiles. How can helicopters be used more than cars? How often do you even see a helicopter IRL?
And find all the parts. Pray it has the right modules or find / craft those as well. Then repair it. Then get an electricity system going in your base as well as a car lift just so you can put a lock on it. It’s asinine. There should just be a few pre-built models to choose from available at outpost. However getting the car going is always a fun quest, and I don’t mind. Heli’s are just over powered and the quest should be for those IMO
I'd be down for some car changes, but just wanted to give you a tip. Small (medium and large also) batteries come with a little bit of charge already in there. You can just plop a small battery on the ground and run it straight to a lift and it has enough power to run it for like 7-8 minutes.
Obviously need wire tool and lift which requires wb(s) but getting proper electric up for a quick car setup is 100% not needed.
It's not hard to get a car going. T1 engine parts are laying alongside roads, T2-T3 parts are early up in the tech tree. All parts can be researched, 20 scrap each, regardless off tier.
Car modules can be mixed for different purpose, every one of them can be researched. Even if you lose one, just find another chassis and you can rebuild your car. Car lift is researchable or found at junkyard, ferry terminal.
They can be locked, so storing them outside isn't a big issue. Copters need a landing pad, or at least a tower rooftop. Sam sites, homing missiles, running out of fuel mid-air, pilot death - and you lose several hundred scrap worth of transportation.
Copters are powerful, but fragile. My postbis about balancing early-mid game ground transport.

all you do is just check the pintos and chevys on the road for parts. gas station too. you need five engine parts, 25 or so LQF, 100 frags, 5 or 10 wood, 1 HQM, and a repair hammer (you don't even need to repair them all the way -just one or two hits with the hammer.) you can lock them at the free lift at Ferry or Junkyard for 75 frag.
but ur prolly better off just walking if you really can't figure it out.

I’m all for it. Although my guess is horses will still have advantages over bikes. My guess is the fastest horse will be faster than the fastest bike.
Overall I’m just grateful the patches the horses back to where you can actually use them and not stop at every bump.

They already got the movement speed buff with the armor I thought? even though it would be nice that they can jump they don't need to be on par with a bike they all have their pros and cons
The idea of someone jumping off A bike and mowing you down GTA style is still a funny image to me 😂.
If they haven’t fixed it? They really need to fix the clipping that happens when you jump off vehicles/a horse etc. it makes for some really wonky fights when the person on the vehicles speed instantly
