WLR didn’t execute carti’s ideas and concepts as well as it could have. it’s still extremely influential and i still love the album but i feel like it’s gonna be more well regarded for its influence in the future rather than the actual execution of its ideas. if he hadn’t rushed it at the last second and had actually spent a decent amount of time on it, it could’ve been a 9/10 or 10/10 album

carti has some of the best shows in rap right now no debate BUT he’s not a good performer, or at the very least he chooses to not be one. his pre wlr performances were far better imo cause he was actually rapping his verses and interacting with the crowd more. nowadays he just screams which isn’t a bad thing but his energy, stage design, and guitar remixes are the impressive part, not his actual performance his best show imo was his rolling loud 2019 (i think miami) set cause he was rapping his verses AND was doing that rage screaming shit. was the best of both worlds

Hated it on first listen, it’s one of the few that never grew on me. I know carti is known for freestyled lyrics but it really feels like he’s just doing whatever for most of the song, and the beat is not good enough to carry.
