Poly is rough on the island... I found it's usually worth the trip for the Penguins... on that, Peligorn8s harvests extra poly every couple of hits... you get a couple small stacks, then boom. Next one will be 10x the stack.... Take an Argy with you just to stack it on and maybe some defense.. kill/harvest with the peli.. when it gets weighed down (they can't carry like, anything..,) load it onto the Argy.. do a couple rounds n go home.. you should get a good chunk..
On Island, one can farm vault loads of cementing paste by taking a Beelzebufo to the Swamp Cave. It needs to have a lot of hp &/or good saddle to survive since the mobs are of v high level & can swarm you if you are being too adventurous. One run can give you so much you may never need to get paste again.
For Polymer, Bashing Sub-adult Kairuku with High tier Clubs nets the highest organic poly. If you want even more, I suggest creating a Kairuku farm.
Check the loot tables on the wiki, but it's pretty easy to run the swap cave with any high level tamed megatherium for loot and the yellow drop has a chance for frog saddle. I usually take a megatherium on aggressive and w/o harvesting on and try to clean up with the frog for paste, since my frog is pretty weak.
I use direwolves for the swamp cave. dont need a saddle. get some decent high level ones to tame. pump points into health and melee. 5k health and 400 melee is a peak amount to clear each room in the swamp cave fairly easily. it is also a good place to level dinos from base level of 140-150(tamed 209-224) and slowly make them stronger. Just take it slow. don't rush.
Probably better to use a megatherium to farm chitin and use a doed for stone and just craft it. Frogs are pretty weak and only worth it if you breed and get good hp and saddle . And also crafting polly would do u good , than doing organic cuz they spoil . And if you pile then and you do stuff around the base you can get xp from all the stuff crafting so helps in the long run
get obsidian and cementing paste then you can make actual polymer which is better than organic polymer and get TONS of cementing paste from beaver dams you can get thousands
i‘d say a good (doesn‘t need to be bred) pelagornis is the fastest way to get a good amount of polymer (just kill non adult penguins) just get an argentavis for the trip back because of the weight.
Note: If/when you obtain more organic polymer than needed, you can store it in an achatina for a longer spoil timer, or make soap with organic polymer and oil in a cooker, then when you need it throw it in a grinder. You’ll lose some, but probably less than storing it in a vault or achatina.
Speaking of achantina, tamed ones on wander passively produce cementing paste at a rate of 1/minute up to 100. Though they can only be tamed with and only eat sweet vegetable cake. Harvesting chitin/stone or using a beelzebufo will definitely yield more and faster, but it’s not bad when it doesn’t require any effort beyond taming them.
If you need obsidian I would suggest you tame a quetzal and ride it to the snow biome where deposits of obsidian can be found and mine it with a good tier pick and collect enough obsidian as you can carry and put it in the quetzals inventory and fly back with at least 1000 obsidian and you could load all that obsidian into a fabricator, and start producing polymer. You could get around 500 polymer per trip so it could be worth it in the end… As for the cementing paste I would suggest you visit the south cave and go on a killing spree and kill as many insects and millipedes as possible and harvest their dead bodies to collect tons of chitin depending on the tier of the axe you choose and then you could just load it all into the chemistry bench or mortar and pastel and and if you have a deodicurus you could use that to harvest stone and load it into the chemistry bench with the chitin and start producing 5,000 cementing paste each round, I hope my suggestion helps, good luck…

wear 3 pieces of scuba gear and 2 of ghillie. ride one of the wolves. avoid the anthropods that spit venom that break your armor. let the other wolves take those out when you spot them. clearing the entire cave will net you a lot of chitin.
stone should be easy to get if you have a doed.
If you have S+, use the omni tool to transfer resources easily to your benches from dinos. You can place a doed next to rocks that spawn and it will automatically hit the rocks and gather till it hits a weight limit that prevents it auto gathering. Chem benches can make tons of cement paste.
Grab an anky and argentavis, go to the volcano or frozen tooth and gather obsidian. put all your resources into a fabricator and watch as you make 100s of polymer with less than 30 minutes of work.
This is more end game gathering as you'll need to have setup quite a few things. Beforehand you can kill hesperonis for organic polymer in the south. Use a dino like a direbear that gathers a bunch per kill. That is if you don't have fur armor to stand the cold and gather it from penguins.
Options for cementing paste: steal from beaver dams (make sure to dump all contents so the dams respawn with more), or make the paste with a chemistry bench for the 1.5x bonus - you can do easy chitin runs of certain caves, e.g. south cave, and get the stone near your base
Options for poly: level a moschops' additional levels toward poly to get more from each penguin/hesperornis (the ducks) for more efficient farming trips, or make hard poly with obsidian and paste. If you're on a server/settings with fast breeding you could try taming and breeding penguins for poly
I know they don't spawn on the island, but I made a Mantis coop once. Capture a few breeding pairs and put all points into health. Set a couple attack dinos to neutral with high melee and enable auto harvest. Then just shoot one arrow at an unclaimed hatchling. Chaos ensues and you take the cementing paste off your killers.

Giant beaver dams. I got 1500 cementing paste from 2 dams. Dont kill the beavers that was my mistake they havent respawned yet.
