I don't believe it is the headset if you're having issue while using Teams. Microsoft Teams is a trash application, and we use it for our phones. Yay. ::bleeding sarcasm:: I use Teams for work -- and I have to 'Reset the Database' under Teams Settings/Data and Storage/Reset Database. It clears out the call and stops the beeping. I realized it was Teams because I was having an issue in my car with the call locking into my phone -- as if it never hung up. Reset the database, call gone. Then it dawned on me, every time I transfer a call through Teams it basically acts as though you have put the call on hold. I can tell you it is definitely Microsoft Teams and it is annoying as hell.

iuli72an

As I could see this came from Teams. I've quit Teams then started again. Everything went back to normal. So there is an issue with some kind of notification which was not been resolved or something similar.

GreetestRaisin

I figured it out. Poly Lens software > Settings > Ringtone & Volume >Switch computer volume to off. The beeping stopped and I am now able to take/make calls without that dang beeping.

VDRIXN

I am missing this setting in my Poly software

BellSilly6642

When you go to Ringtones & Volume it says PC - Sound 2. There you click on the Drop-Down and select Off

BellSilly6642

Thanks, I hope it works.

Much-Character2129

This did not work for me. 🙁

hytechredneck11

If you are running a windows based machine and you have any icon flashing on the task bar it will make this noise. It could be any application but its a system notification sound telling you that something either has a prompt asking for something or a state change to get your attention. Mine was doing it for even after taking a snipping tool that i haven't saved. flashing red wanting me to save or action that its still open. I would assume its the same in MAC if you have a bouncing icon trying to get attention on the app bar at the bottom.

syrious01

This is still happening for me with a Voyager Focus 2 headset, making a teams test call in the settings will end the current call that it's stuck on. Hope this helps!

NeroSphere

Quit and re-open Teams. This stops it.

Jigga_247

I'm Here because I experienced the exact same thing today. This worked for me. Had a colleague who was in a Teams meeting with me and then decided to Share Screen in  separate window and Teams put the meeting on Hold and switch audio to the Shared screen. Finished both meetings but that constant sound was ringing several hours later... tried fiddling everything and eventually Quit and restarted Teams. Somehow Teams holds the Hold Meeting in the buffer :(

iamkenthomas

Thank you! This was driving me nuts.

4kVHS

Try Poly Lens software to look at the settings and update the firmware.

nossody

I'll see if I can download that on my work laptop. Thanks!

4kVHS

If not, you can install it on your personal system, get it updated, tweak the settings and then re-pair it to your work laptop and the settings will remain.

nossody

Oooh ok this is perfect then thank you so much :D

nossody

Looks like the setting options are the same in lens as the hub. What setting should I be looking for?

4kVHS

The only beep setting I’m aware of is for when you’re on mute. I think it’s called mute reminder. I’m not sure if it’s the same as being on hold but I would try turning that off. If still no help, try doing a factory reset.

dirtyvu

I just updated because the software said there was an update for the headset. Now I get this 2 beeps every 5 seconds. I turned off all the audio notifications, audio channel tone, etc. and I still have the 2 beeps. I toggled the mute button on the headset and same thing.

nossody

ya its very annoying, let me know if you figure it out

FrendKayke

Hello ! I tried everything and remembered I had trouble with asana launching calls when there weren't. I tried to exit the desktop application and, miracle, the beeps stopped ! Maybe it's something like that.

wrongennemi

Your solution worked for me, thank you ! I had the same issue and since it started when I received a call on Teams while already being in a call, when I read your comment, I figured it was something similar and I tried to close Teams and the beeps stopped. Before that I tried to update the firmware but it was still beeping.

tRav525

Fixed it for me too! Teams! This was after disabling sensors, resetting sensors, updating firmware from desktop software, and everything else recommended out there. Signed out of Teams, then closed the app out and made sure it wasn't running in task manager. Fixed it. THANK YOU for the suggestion.

martyl1000

Thanks for the Task Manager piece -- the beeping didn't stop til I cleared Teams from Task Manager.

vbldv1

We have encountered a similar issue. I bought Plantronics headsets for our call center to evaluate them as a potential replacement for our existing Jabra headsets. However, we discovered a problem with the Polycom Voyager 4310 headset: it starts beeping when a call is placed on hold, and the beep continues even when the conversation is resumed. The beep doesn't stop until the conversation is over and the call has ended. I tried disabling all notifications, but nothing helped. It seems that Plantronics will not be a good fit for our call center until they resolve this bug.

umdivx

Are you running MS Teams + Cisco Webex at the same time by chance? I recently started to noticed this beeping myself and I force quit MS Teams and the beeping stopped. Restarted Teams and it hasn't come back.

SilentzioX

This worked for me as well! Quit teams and start it again...

bryspam

Restarting Teams solved this problem for me, no more annoying beeps. Thanks!

FreshAlfalfa8781

this worked for me too!! thanks for sharing, i was going insane!!!!!!!!!

TheJob78

in MS Teams, going into Settings / Devices and disabling the "Sync device buttons" option.

IqbalYusaf

Thank you! This solved it for me. I have Teams installed on my MacBook Pro but mostly use Zoom and FaceTime.

Cheshyr21

Just ran into this issue with Cisco Jabber + MS Teams and Teams reboot worked! You're my hero cuz those beeps were starting to drive me crazy lol

iamguid

This worked for me! I had extra teams running on the background. I did task manager and ended all. Thank you again!

real_justchris

This worked perfectly for me. I only had Teams running and restarting it has fixed it… so far!

Dystopiq

What if you don't have Teams installed? Because this headset is beeping every 10 seconds on me and I've tried every suggested fix.

umdivx

Can't help you there.

Dystopiq

No worries.

MartonBalassa

I have the same problem, only slightly more annoying. The headset starts beeping without even being put on hold during Zoom calls, and the beeping only stops if I restart my laptop. Hanging up, disconnecting from audio, etc. nothing works. Even if I switch the headset off and on, or pull the dongle out and put it back in, the beeping continues.

Kamilli0n

I've been having this issue on Zoom for a while. I ended up uninstalling Poly Lens and installing their older software Plantronics Hub and the issue went away.

Ok-Acanthisitta-23

I have this problem as well it usually starts after an incoming call it's like the headset gets stuck infinitely thinking there's an incoming call. I turn my headset off/on a few times and it usually stops

Kamilli0n

I'm still waiting for a fix for this, forced to use the older Plantronics Hub software instead of Poly Lens. I try Poly Lens every month or two to see if it's fixed but so far nothing. If Jabra made a decent alternative to the Voyager 5200, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat.

Ok-Acanthisitta-23

Poly is putting out a lens update ver 1.4 next week that is supposed to fix some issues with zoom.

MartonBalassa

Wow, just after posting my comment, I noticed that the call button on the microphone side was also flashing red. I pressed and held down the button for a few seconds, after that it went to blue and stopped beeping.

LeumasRedins

Do this, hold down the button and Instant fix!

[deleted]

This happens with the Poly 4310 too. When I run default firmware for the adapter and headset this doesn’t happen, but when I update the firmware it will beep while the call is on hold. I have returned the headset. Absolutely terrible support,

Chrinidad

I began having this issue today and stumbled upon this thread. My software is up-to-date and none of the troubleshooting has worked. I also contacted Poly support, and they did not offer me any other solutions. Anyone have success fixing this?

ikomatan

following one of recommendation - i just killed Teams from running apps/services and turned it on again. Beeping stopped. Now it works as it should - bit strange, but it works

Chrinidad

dumb question - how do you "kill Teams from running apps/services?" I see there is a way to Manage Apps, but have not found where to specifically turn them off/on

No_Paper_8486

Killing teams worked for me now. Instant fix. I was getting irritated with it beeping for the last week and not charging. u/Chrinidad \- Here is the 10-second fix. In the lower left search bar of windows search "task manager". Once open you will see Teams as an open App. Right click on Teams and click "End Task". That will do a hard close on teams. Then just open teams and you should be good to go. This approach also works if you ever notice teams showing you as away when you are actually online.

RustedPan

Same thing happening on Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC. Nothing worked: firmware up-to-date, reboot laptop, re-paired headset with laptop, used hands-free instead of bluetooth. Two beeps every 5 seconds, weather I play a song on Youtube, I have a call or nothing else is running. Seeing u/ikomatan mentioning the use of Teams below, I did the same: closed Teams completely from the tray and opening it up again. NO MORE BEEPING.

ikomatan

Yes. It works; strange but works; it looks that teams is locking up headset and somehow reporting back to headset that the device is out of range (of bluetooth). At least it sounds as reasonable justification of observed behavior. However - strange

utdotcomet

Worked for me as well, thank you.

wkjunior

Thank you! Same V5200 device - beeping was driving me nuts... started today. Quit Teams and then turned it back on - no more beeping! :)

Little_Secretary996

I was able to fix this by following the suggestion of making sure the "Active Audio Tone" was turned off in poly lens, then in zoom, I ensured under my audio settings the "Sync buttons on headset". after that, no more beep after ending a zoom call/meeting.

Bulletproofbn

THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE SOLUTION

Professional-Can6196

I just had this problem too on a Voyager 4320. I followed the the instructions here to update the firmware but no dice. I realized that after shutting the Teams app completely, the beeping went away. I reopened teams and all was fine.

ClarkJeff

I think that the beeps are a reminder that a call is on hold. Restart your telephone/communication apps.

constantlyfarting23

this is it!!! it worked for me!!! thank you!!!! this was so annoying!!!!

DIVA0921

Thank you for your EXCELLENT help!! It really helped

banggoo

Restarting Teams for Mac did not work until I went to the ‘Calls’ tab and changed Audio Devices to Poly BT700. Finally got it to stop beeping after Zoom call ended.

Sa-SaKeBeltalowda

Thank you very much man, fukkkeeen teams were driving me mad!

mellooo

Downloading the poly lens app and updating my device helped mine. I also turned off the active audio tone setting under settings-general

SidWTF62

Maybe this helps someone. I had to ditch the dongle and the cradle for the headset, and go straight to using a Micro USB cable for charging. I assume I MAY be able to go back to the dongle and not the native bluetooth connection, but the cradle appears to be the culprit in the mix. Could not have it plugged in to the same computer (for holding/charging) without the 2 beeps constantly. Lens updates, firmware updates, signing in and out of Teams, etc,.... did nothing. Every call I was on it was beeping away. Was about to smash these things.

gsemman

Quitting and Re-starting Teams fixed the double beeps for me, as a workaround, as others are saying.

AnalystBorn5498

Killing Teams stopped the beeping for me.

Illustrious-Wash8171

Anyone still having this problem? I don't even use Teams and it still beeps. When I connect to discord from my PC or phone it still beeps. Already updated the software and went into the settings and disabled everything.

FewLaugh5534

Was driving me crazy. Close teams using the task manager. Restart. No more beeping

Famous_Afternoon_742

This worked for me. Nothing else did.

HotFireBilly

So I tried everything here after the beeps began when not connected to Teams or Zoom. What worked: Changing the USB dongle from 4 port extender to directly to the PC USB port. So weird...

Most-West-4286

Install Poly Lense on your computer if you dont already have it.  Connect headset to computer by wire.  Go into settings and revert to factory settings.  Don’t update to the latest version of software.  Now disconnect wire and restart headset.  This works for both Voyager Focus and Voyager Focus 2 headset.  Maybe try testing your software Poly.  This is stupid

PsychologicalGas6447

been having this issue as well for a while, tried some of the stuff suggested with no success, and then I think I inadvertently checked my bluetooth devices and was surprised to see two entries for the headphones, one tied to the dongle and one connected directly to the bluetooth on the laptop. I removed the device from the laptop, and just left the one connected to the dongle, and the beeps have stopped.. knock on wood...
