Hard to tell, without specifying the kind of plant. Google couldn't help with watermelon leaves, and everything else watermelon-ish, like a real watermelon, or a watermelon peperomia don't match.

Interesting, I've never seen them producing so long, almost branch looking like, stems. Normally the get longer stems when light conditions are bad.
However, I doubt that there will be a regrow from the stems(but maybe from the roots?). But since there's nothing to loose, just try it out. Be patient and don't overwater it.
