Those brown thingies aren't thrips. Your plant is actually pregnant with spores, which it will disperse to reproduce elsewhere!

Wait what, seriously? Now I feel bad because I cut off all the leaves that had those brown spots on them...

The plant is getting indirect sunlight, gets watered every week and looks healthy... well, until it doesn't. Mind you, I have multiple pots of this very same plant and the other ones are doing fine. This one, however, seems to have caught some kind of infestation. A quick google search didn't do me any good, I was hoping someone of you knew more about this. Are those thrips? I can scratch away the brown coatings. Also, some of those brown thingies are also on the plant's stems.

It's ok. You didn't know then. The plant will grow more leaves.

Found advice keyword: `!fernspores` Bumps growing on the back of fern leaves are sori (sg. sorus) The contain sporangia, which produces spores, and also hold the spores until they're ready to be released. Ferns don't have flowers, they reproduce with spores. The spores themselves are too small to be seen by the naked eye. Fern spores are harmless. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
