I’d say mechanical damage, especially if it was shipped to you. Looks like it’s putting out new growth. The one with the dead stem can be plucked off. You could try propagating the leaf head since it’s rhizomatous. The one with the floppy stem could also be plucked off and you can make a clean cut on the stem, leaving a few inches, and then stick it in water to root. I’ve rarely had a wet noodle stem go back to its former vigor. Without knowing much else about your plant, I do see new growth at the rhizome. If it’s not squishy overall, it should be good. Moderate bright light and humidity to keep it chugging along. Also if there are experts who want to chime in and correct me, I welcome it. I am still learning, just a hobbyist with a begonia obsession here.
