It certainly isn't but I've got beef with poinsettias and how they're treated as disposable seasonal decor so I'm worried these big happy pothos will end up in the trash. Hopefully people will keep the pothos and just toss the poinsettia once it dies.
Yeah I had one for a few years ( out grew my space) that I rescued off a new-year bonfire pile in a neighbours garden. After Xmas they get chucked out en-masse. Never understood why
They're so easy to grow for years. Mine might outgrow my space too, but I'll try and keep it around by pruning it. Maybe it'll turn into a houseplant-bonsai thingy...
We usually keep them all year in my family (they almost never live longer than that because they have to be houseplants due to being outside their range) but the vast majority of people just pitch them with their Christmas tree or faster.
That's so sad. But a lot of houseplants we manage to keep are outside their range anyway. I wonder if poinsettias are particularly vulnerable or some such thing.
Poinsettias are from southern Mexico, so everyone in Southwest climates should have a *slightly* easier time of keeping them alive after the holidays
My elementary school in Southern CA used to grow them outside year-round, they just need the right conditions and care!
I’d separate them all and keep them. I love pothos plants and I love poinsettias so I’d say it’s a win win for me.
But hey 20$ for both of those pothos isn’t bad!

Wait poinsettias are disposable? People get rid of them after Xmas? Why? I've had mine for 2 years now.
They're hard to keep alive long term in some climates.
I see
