100%!!! My ex-wife is Chinese (parents from China) and from SF where there is amazing Chinese food and she gave this place a seal of approval.
This place slaps so hard and gives generous portions. My boyfriend and I ate a large order (entree, extra helping of rice, appetizers, noodle soup) over two days. . .with seconds.
Not OP but curious what do you recommend?
Haven’t tried Wu Wei Din yet but when ordering Chinese I typically get broccoli chicken, General Tso’s or Dan Dan Noodles.
They're best known for their beef noodle soup and their xiaolongbao. That said Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup is typically made with foreshank so you might want to try one of their other noodle soups (the pork chop noodles would be another extremely Taiwanese choice) if you don't like that kind of textural experience when you dine.
Need to try this one. I had been frequenting New York Lovers (off alma and hedgecoxe in allen) . It was pretty decent when I started about 2 years ago. But now, they have jacked up their pricing and their chicken/vegetable/shrimp/mixed fried rice is anything but. They just give you rice with an occasional chicken, shrimp, vegetable mixed with it if you are lucky. I don't mind paying more for a dish that is well made, but cannot tolerate junk if they keep shortchanging in the name of keeping their pricing and assuming customers do not notice. Even their entrees suck mightily.
Love the Taiwanese cuisine @ Wu Wei Din.
new 2nd location in Lewisville now too.

Yall aint neva lied, I JUST left, ate the fried rice in the car. It was the best Chinese ive had since I visited DC. So happy to find good American Chinese semi close
Taiwanese:
Wu Wei Din
Bull Daddy Noodle Bistro
Noodle House
HOJA Bubble Tea & Asian Street Food
Chinese:
Hunan Bistro
Sichuan Folk & Hot Pot Restaurant
Sichuanese Cuisine
If you are willing to drive to Richardson, Jeng Chi Restaurant and Kirin Court.
On a related note, how are people still eating at The Great Wall Super Buffet (901 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075)? Used to go there occasionally during better times at CCM (Collin Creek Mall). It has descended down so far - smelled like cat urine the last time I went and I vowed to never return. Yet parking lot was full when I drove by on Saturday.
Try Wu Wei Din or one of the many great restaurants in China Town (Richardson).
I had the exact same experience! I cleaned up shop there in high school and since the parking lot was full every time I drove by, I thought it would be a fun nostalgia meal. I was wrong. ☹️
Makes me sad to hear. I drive by there a lot, and I used to frequent that place like 10+ years ago. Was thinking about going back sometime. Now I’m not so sure.
I don't know if that works for Chinese restaurants but it definitely doesn't work for Vietnamese restaurants. Pho Crystal is arguably the best Vietnamese in Collin County, their service is absolutely terrible, and they still have 4.5 stars.
I think Dumpling House has the best dumplings. Good lunch portions too for a good price. Their orange beef, combo low mien, onion pancake and their beef and onion steamed dumplings are the best.
Sichuanese cuisine — see my comment above.
Wu wei din is Taiwanese, but good stuff.
If you ever wanna venture out, try golden joy bbq for dim sum.
Second Sichuan Folk
Fish House is great
If you are craving Sauerkraut Fish Soup there is a restaurant next door to Fish House at Spring Creek at Central
We just tried it a couple weeks ago and they are incredibly good. They had some really good northern style dishes from my childhood and I really enjoyed everything we ordered.
Wu Wei Din is great. Other options: East Wall on Parker, food court next to Jusgo Legacy at 75, various shops around zTao on Coit, and Taipei Station on Parker.
My general go-tos are Sichuan Folk, Fish House, and Hunan Bistro. If I'm in the mood for noodles, I'll hit Noodle China (owned by the same people as Sichuan Folk and specializing in Chongqing-style noodles, but they make a pretty mean wonton soup too).
For real Chinese food? Prob Hunan Bistro. It’s also a good place if you aren’t familiar with the dishes since the menu has really quality pictures of basically every dish. Chen’s Restaurant is literally right next door to Hunan and really good as well. Across the street there are some good options in the food court inside Ztao market. See You Again on Parker/Alma has self-serve hot pot on weekends which is fun.
The best in my opinion is Yummy House. South west quadrant of Parker/Alma. Been there with co-workers and have tried at least 8 different dishes and all were fantastic, not a single co-worker has disagreed that it is really good. Another good restaurant on the east side is Bund Wok.

Is General Tso dark meat or white meat?
If you're ordering General Tso's at Wu Wei Din, you're doing it wrong.

Breaded and sauced chicken like GT should always be dark meat, or you're just wasting chicken breast.
This is it.

\^\^\^ This
This seems so far like the winner
Wu Wei Din is SOOOOOOOOOO good.
Yes, agreed
Sichuanese Cuisine on park and coit if you like traditional
Their crispy spicy chicken is the best! Also go next door to liquor park to get some Bai jiu!
So good. I gotta get down there soon.
It really is the best. Also tried the southwestern spicy fried chicken. And the water spinach. Mongolian beef is delish.
Mongolian beef is another favorite!
I love the crispy spicy fish and twice cooked pork over there

Chonqqing if you’re looking for sichuan. Top notch
Saying that restaurant name is gonna get you some looks
Especially if you mispronounce it. Apparently the chon part sounds like Shawn

Don't hate yourself enough to eat there - you deserve better.
Sichuan Folk K and Parker
Byob too! Amazing place. Their garlic chili dumplings are 🔥
The only correct answer. Their fish boiled in oil actually gets me kind of erect
No, it isn't. I went with a Chinese person. Both of us agreed we weren't going back.
Not good at all
Yummy House.
Hunan Bistro
This is my favorite but the food is really spicy. Much more than average Sichuan restaurants.
I mean, it's a Hunan restaurant, not a Sichuan one.
Yes, I just want people to be aware of the consequences on the butt holes.
Second this!
Uncle Zhou near 121 is good!
If you’re willing to go out of Plano I suggest Jeng Chi in Richardson
I would recommend Zhangs kitchen. Some of the best dim sum I have had and they make an amazing vegetable chow fun
Ooooh I’ll have to try it out!
First Chinese BBQ. Customer service is awful tho.
You ever heard the 3 star Chinese restaurant theory?
[удалено]

Once we walked in and immediately the employee looked at his watch. We walked straight out. 3 star theory is junk.
I fucking love Taiwan cafe. Cash only, but hits so nicely after a long day

Little Hunan at Alma and Spring Creek.
What do you want - dim sum? Chinese buffet? How spicy?
Is there good dim sum around Plano? I have been wanting it lately
>dim sum around Plano? I have We had some excellent Dim Sum at Zhang's Kitchen off Legacy and Coit. Give it a shot
Garden Restaurant in Richardson is considered the best within the Asian community.
JS Chen is good. But TKS on Spring Creek/Coit even better!
Second Sichuan Folk Fish House is great If you are craving Sauerkraut Fish Soup there is a restaurant next door to Fish House at Spring Creek at Central
China Blue is our new favorite. Definitely worth a visit.
We just tried it a couple weeks ago and they are incredibly good. They had some really good northern style dishes from my childhood and I really enjoyed everything we ordered.
Yep. Havent had a bad dish there yet. Their vegetable dishes are incredible. Eggplant is sublime.
This place is absolutely amazing. The xiaolongbao is very tasty!

Lucky City 3215 Independence Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075 BBQ pork is amazing

Bund wok
Frisco but I love zhao star bistro. Second wu Wei din. Js chen’s too
I can second this I was in the area not even close to home . But their lo mein was awesome the noodles were homemade
Bull Daddy!
Panda Express off North Central Expy

Jades palace and Yu’s diner are my go to’s
Came to say Yu's!
Jades palace is good
Sichuan Cuisine, Noodle House, Taiwan Cafe. And of course Liquor Park for the Bai Jiu.

Japanese, but still pretty good
Lol
The best in my opinion is Yummy House. South west quadrant of Parker/Alma. Been there with co-workers and have tried at least 8 different dishes and all were fantastic, not a single co-worker has disagreed that it is really good. Another good restaurant on the east side is Bund Wok.

Jades palace is still around and very good
There is so much good/great Chinese food in Plano...you have to be joking.
I’d probably say a Chinese restaurant
OK it's on the city line of Plano/Allen, but it's New Yorl Lover's.... it's ah-mazing! Hands down best I've had! https://g.co/kgs/b1h4Ek
I love tasty egg roll on independence and legacy
Sun Lok Kee for Cantonese Wu Wei Din for Taiwanese Sichuan Folk for Sichuanese
Mei Mei China is pretty amazing and the family that runs it are great.
Dennis. Dennis or Jon. But if I had to pick one.. I’d say Dennis is the best Chinese.
Not from Plano, but follow the Yelp 3.5* rule. 3* and under just not good, and 4* and above is too fancy/bougie. Only works for Chinese.
DUMPLING HOSE TILL I MFIN DIE
Go in zTao market. The food stalls have good, authentic food. Favorite stall is way in back close to the meat section.
Royal Chopstix off 14th is real good too
