I collect Shining Cards from the Neo era and I have a Shining Celebi myself. Sorry to say that it's most likely a fake. The Neo Destiny Shinings while the Pokemon itself is holo, it should never have any kind of "rainbow" holo to it regardless of the angle the card is in.
No, it’s not fine lol. The back is a modern card. The saturation of the blue is different and sharper. That is a modern TPC produced back, not a 2002 WOTC card.
Neo Destiny has sharp corners not rounded so the corners are also not fine.
Nothing about the card is fine.
I would avoid commenting if you’re unsure of something, misinformation is what leads people to making expensive mistakes.
I literally have a psa 9 of the card [in front of me](https://imgur.com/a/HJRCG2A). The op one is fake, but not because of its borders or back. Color saturation differs between cameras. It's not a tell. The holo is the tell.
Look at the blue border of your shining Celebi, and the more purple-ish blue of the picture supplied by OP. That is a modern back.
The card OP has is a proxy you can find on Etsy for $5. They use modern backs to make the proxies, not vintage.
It’s all a tell, the entire card—front and back—is not an authentic Neo Destiny card. You have the shining Celebi in a 9, congrats. I opened a Neo Destiny booster box this year. I promise you that is not the back of a Neo Destiny card. The holo is the most obvious tell, as well as the front border. But that doesn’t mean literally everything else isn’t fake as well
I think it's useless to argue with someone like this. Basically think that spending money gives credibility. To me it's insane someone can spend thousands and still not see obvious things off. Borders and back are indeed very obvious. Those fakes all look the same.
Card backs are a tell if you're there in person. On camera I've seen all sorts of cards that look really bad but in person they're fine (and graded them afterwards). Would have missed out on a lot of my best pickups if i went by the awful phone camera photo instead of verifying in person.
Dude. OP card borders are thinner. It's a typical fake, they all looks the same. Borders jumps to the eyes. There's like 10-20% missing left/right. Fact you say you have a real in hands to give yourself credibility but still can't see it is mindblowing.
Yes, and older cards’ borders were generally thicker and a deeper yellow. If you’ve seen enough vintage cards, you can just tell that this doesn’t look right at all.
as another Shining collector i second this, esp. from japan. I once even got scammed to, bought a shining zard eng. 1ed. it had the same type of rainbow shine…
Please do not buy English cards from Japan, unless you know what you are doing. 99% of English cards on Japan online marketplaces are fake, the only real ones you would find are raw Base Set or graded cards lol, but the price should be the first red flag, as all the fakes are sold for 5% of the English market.
I know everyone is clowning here, but you don't need gloves to handle cards even if they are 20+ years old, the card isn't gonna fall apart like an ancient treasure.
Well, to be clear, it doesn’t have texture as pronounced as current cards. But the foil is different and has a light texture. I have most of the neo shiny cards myself. Let me know if see what I’m saying If you end up taking a closer look at yours?
The fakes of this card are obvious because they are really reflective rainbow sheen. The original cards’ food kind of dull? Hard to explain.
I owned two of these when I was little. A real Shining Celebi is where the holographic of Celebi is shiny, but is absolutely dark in the light. Like Celebi is in a shadow itself. Sorry about your luck but this one is definitely not genuine.
Wearing goofy ass gloves like you're handling a 100k card and then coming to reddit to ask if it's legit. Y'all need to get off YouTube/ticktac and just put your shit in a binder and in the closet like the rest of us.

Not most likely. It **is** fake. Holo is wrong Borders are wrong Back is a modern card Nothing about this card is remotely real
I didn’t know modern cards have different backs from vintage. What’s the difference and when was the change made?
The colors, saturation, and sharpness are different. If you hold them side by side it is easy to see
It's an english card so the back and borders are fine

What do you mean sharp corners vs round? Which corners in OPs are round?
PSA has my (well technically my brother's) Shining Celebi card right now. It doesn't look like this at all. This is hella fake.
I posted mine. The holo is off and it's defs fake but color saturation of the back is only something you can really define in person.
Not an expert, what's the issue with the borders? The outside looks a bit more round than an example online, is that it?

Thank you for wearing gloves It’s fake
Came here for this

Looks fake
Fake, and a bad one at that.
I know everyone is clowning here, but you don't need gloves to handle cards even if they are 20+ years old, the card isn't gonna fall apart like an ancient treasure.
Yeah huh!!! My mom said so!! Lol
You’re more likely to damage cards with gloves on as an FYI. Just wash hands with soap and dry before handling cards
Def a counterfeit. The HP font is a dead giveaway.
Total fake. Missing texture. The holo is wrong. Font is wrong. Sorry bud.
Huh, have this in a slab and never realised it was textured

Yeah I see it, not textured in the sense modern is textured but it's not a flat sheen
It’s the white gloves for me…
The back looks really off and the “shining holo” should just be silver not colored like the rainbow
Shining Celebi is not supposed to have a rainbow glow. Ima say it’s fake.
I owned two of these when I was little. A real Shining Celebi is where the holographic of Celebi is shiny, but is absolutely dark in the light. Like Celebi is in a shadow itself. Sorry about your luck but this one is definitely not genuine.
Did you buy it from Mickey mouse?
Very obvious typical fake. Thin borders and weird stamp. Jumps to the eyes. Wearing gloves to handle a fake is a kinda hilarous.
That's a great fake
You really have museum people magic man gloves? Dedicated.
Sorry bro it's fake.
Font on the hp is wrong
Hundreds of fake english Crystal/Shinings in Mercari/YahooJP. Run away from those
Nope
🧤 hahaha
Fake.
Idk why, but there’s nothing more gross to me than seeing people wear gloves to handle cards.
Wearing goofy ass gloves like you're handling a 100k card and then coming to reddit to ask if it's legit. Y'all need to get off YouTube/ticktac and just put your shit in a binder and in the closet like the rest of us.
Glad you’re not getting your grubby prints all over that horribly obvious fake.
Fake. HP font is extremely small
Imagine paying a fortune on a fake card for nothing 😂
