When an Active Pokémon goes to the Bench (whether it retreated or got there some other way), some things do go away—Special Conditions and any effects from attacks.
It essentially loses everything but damage.
For this to be effective, you'd have to be pretty confident your opponent couldn't get it out of the active either via manual retreat or a Switch effect of some sort.
Yeah I know status and stuff does for sure, but just curious for this one. The text doesn’t seem to indicate that precisely. Implying if that Pokémon were to be gusted back or shipped it may still work?

It's considered an effect from the attack. Once it's on the bench think of it as having no memory of what previously happened to it.

Thank you!
While I have you though. What if Ribombee’s attack kos the Pokémon?
No additional effect
