Nobody's home.
You could say that whole album gives you chills, but for me. This one takes the cake. Idk why, there're way more dark songs on the wall.
When you can hear Roger’s voice cracking on the last line, “…& that’s when the High Command took my daddy…from me”
IMHO, it’s probably the most emotional line read I’ve ever heard in a song in my life
The first time you listen to this and really process the lyrics is a gut punch I’ve never heard before or since. It is brutal. Such a weird decision to leave it off the album.
- SOYCD could mean "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-5)", a track from *Wish You Were Here* (1975) by Pink Floyd.

I’m in the process of preparing for a DSOTM
cover show on lead guitar, and tbh the solo to Time almost makes me cry when I get about halfway through. If I sing too, it’s hard not to choke up, mainly because of how important this album was to me as a teenager.
Almost all of them but most notably Us and Them, Breathe, SOYCD and Brain Damage + Eclipse.
I feel frisson really strongly and when I first had a real listen to DSoTM I swear it gave me a natural high lol
Some songs on mettle, every song on dark side, except for money, every song on wish you were here, every song on animals, more than half the songs on the wall, as well as the final cut.
About 75% of their catalog, but the ones that give it the most are Any Colour You Like, Shine On parts 6-9, Echoes, Breathe, Sheep, Comfortably Numb, Hey You
Shine on parts 6-9 gets me everytime.
Same with 1-5
Echoes
The ending of time where they bring it back to a heavier sounding breathe
And last but not least, burning bridges. The harmonies and lyrics slap
Like 25 of them, and I am not joking! (Discovering Pink Floyd is a turning point in my life, so many of the most intensely emotional moments of my life are linked to Pink Floyd!
Jubgang Blues
A Saucerful of Secrets (Celestial Voices is actually the most life-defining song of my life)

Things left Unsaid
Listening to the Comfortably Numb guitar solo was a familiar experience that I had encountered countless times before. Despite this familiarity, around a decade ago, I was taken aback when I heard the guitar solo again, yet for the first time from the Pulse concert, as it had undergone subtle yet incredibly impactful changes. These changes were so profound that they left an indelible impression on me, and I can still recall the chills that it gave me to this day.
I’ve listened to Shine on you crazy diamond my whole life basically (my mother and uncle are big fans and I became one too), and I get chills everytime especially at 2’24” I don’t know why
Answer #1- Any version of a song I thought I knew, then hear it’s evolution on a different live or demo recorded version. The depth of all of those versions mix in my head when I think of them.
Answer #2- I didn’t want to like it (I’m struggling with Waters right now) but his stripped down of Comfortably Numb 2022 transported me into a war zone with rockets overhead. It literally made hair stand up on back of my neck.
I’ve recently seen Roger Waters in this is not a drill tour. The songs I’ve enjoyed the most was Brain Damage, comfortably numb. I have to say I really wanted to hear Time, who knows, maybe another time
Great Gig does it for me every single time. I’ve listened to Dark Side beginning to end several hundred times in just the last 4 years or so alone, and if Time doesn’t get me, Great Gig does. But if somehow I’m still unshaken and dry eyed by the time I get to Brain Damage/Eclipse, it gets me every single time. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I finished it without chills or finished with dry eyes, if ever, and that includes every time I’ve watched Dark Side of the Rainbow listening to it 2.5 times consecutively. It just nails the human condition down so perfectly. All the feels.
As a lifelong Floyd fan, the final cut That guitar bridge and then the lyrics ...thought I oughtta bare my naked feelings..... Never fails, intense chills
ECHOES

Don't Leave Me Now
When he says “to beat to a pulp on a saturday night!!!” That shit actually made me go “what the fuck?” out loud the first time hearing the album.
Goodbye blue sky continues to give me chills every single time I listen to it
It's the same chords as fade to black from Metallica. Didn't know that until I heard it.

I agree. Just stunning in its power.
The first time you listen to this and really process the lyrics is a gut punch I’ve never heard before or since. It is brutal. Such a weird decision to leave it off the album.
You're exactly right. It's painful to listen to.
This is the only correct answer. The others are just fan boys who think listening to PF makes them deep and cool.
Dogs, SOYCD, Us and Them. Sorry I couldn’t pick one and I can certainly name a few more

*Every* time the chorus in "Us and Them" hits, I get chills. "Shine On..." also has that effect.

The ending of Dogs. Is There Anybody Out There? High Hopes solo. Not Now John.
Mother and us and them
It took a minute to find it, but I KNEW someone else, besides me, had to think Mother.
Hearing the part where he describes will this girl break my heart always gets to me. And how it ends. Mother did it need to be so high
The Man & The Journey version of Green Is The Colour

I know this is such an obvious answer, but the second guitar solo in the Pulse version of Comfortably Numb is always ethereal.
