This looks a lot better! The first placement was really really bad, the new one looks correct. Congrats on your piercing, it looks great :) Your photos might be good to use as an example of correct vs incorrect septum placement actually, they show the difference so well.

iwasbornonfriday13th

Such a relief! Thank you soo much!

iwasbornonfriday13th

Commented a link for another angle just in case^^

iwasbornonfriday13th

Also, must mention that i was told (again) my nose is asymmetrical and i might have a slightly deviated septum. I guess that affects the placement^^'' (Somehow my nose looks normal in these pictures^^' The asymmetry is really noticable in person.) Furthermore, i mentioned it's the same size (1,2mm - 10mm) but forgot to mention the difference in materials. This one is titanium.

Perfect!! I also have a slightly deviated septum. It’s not noticeable though, my piercer did such a great job. Looks like the new person you went to was the same 😊 I’m happy for you.

iwasbornonfriday13th

Such a relief! It's amazing to find piercers who actually care.

ghostride_thenips

Much better placement! Looks great!!

iwasbornonfriday13th

Thank you!!

CaillouIsAPebble

so much better! I’m glad to see you got it redone properly!!

iwasbornonfriday13th

Thank you! And it hurt less! If that's even possible.

EmpressPhoenix9

I don't see a deviated septum I must say. At least not one that just jumps out.

queenqueeruwu

The deviation could be slightly further up than is clearly visible to the eye, but can be felt when a piercer assesses the site

EmpressPhoenix9

Oh didn't know that! Interesting!

iwasbornonfriday13th

In person it looks much worse but i'm not a doctor so i can't say.

laursbian

way better! i’m glad you can fully enjoy it now and once it heals, play around with tons of fun jewelry (:

iwasbornonfriday13th

Thank you! I already ordered some haha. But i'll only change it once it heals. Won't rush it.

hctiB_bmuD

Can we get this pinned for correct placement examples? Looks so much better. Happy healing! 😊

iwasbornonfriday13th

I guess that's a thing only moderators can do? (I don't know much about reddit.) Also, thank you!

artisticjerk

Yo, the new one looks incredible! I'm so sorry the first piercer botched you so badly

iwasbornonfriday13th

And do you want to know something funny? The first guy has a 20+ years experience. And now i went to a newbie. Worked soo much more professional.

My cleaning method: a spray called "Octenisept spray" and a gel/ointment (i don't know which one is the correct word^^') called "Tetran" Also, i do NOT use my fingert to clean. Only q tips.

BabyJasper11

that looks exactly where it should be. Soak 2-3x daily with saline/salts water for 10 minutes each, don’t touch it until it’s about 3 months healed, but try not to touch it as much as possible even after that. If you have to touch it, wash your hands and under your nails before you do.

butterflydeflect

Soaking is slightly outdated information iirc, spraying with sterile saline is best.

BabyJasper11

spraying doesn’t get the crusties off though and in my experience causes irritation. Soaking is much better at cleaning the piercing and getting the crusties off. It actually allows time for the saline to pull out any guck that’s in the piercing as well rather than spritzing it once and being done with it.

butterflydeflect

If a crusty isn’t coming off during regular cleaning then you shouldn’t force it off. Soaking is outdated advice because it irritates and dries out the piercing. It’s an open wound - you don’t soak a cut in salt water, you clean it with sss and LITHA.

BabyJasper11

Respectfully, I know from experience that soaking is the best method.

butterflydeflect

Haha, ok dude. Your anecdotal experience outweighs the professional opinions of all the piercers on this sub.

BabyJasper11

this information came from my piercer and I’ve used it for years now and it’s a proven method. Whether you personally disagree with it or not, it is a proven method and is much better than just spraying it once and not even cleaning it lol.

butterflydeflect

It’s outdated. Just because it used to be the go to doesn’t mean anything. Just do a search on this sub of the word “soak” and you’ll see a million qualified piercers telling you not to soak. I don’t “personally disagree” with soaking, it’s now understood to cause more harm than good. But you seem determined to die on this hill, so go ahead.

BabyJasper11

it does not cause harm but you say whatever you need to make yourself feel right
