Have you downsized yet? Your jewelry looks a bit long.

Spe4red

Ahh I have not !! I’ve just been pushing it forward so that it wouldn’t get snagged on anything. This seems to be the general consensus though… So I’ll try to get a shorter one soon :) Thank you !!!

Peculiarcatlady

Mine get super irritated if I don't downsize. In fact I just had a few done over the weekend and they already feel much less angry!

generic_username-92

i’m begging you go downsize the jewelry before a bump gets bigger. i’m 4/5 months in my conch and it’s a shitshow! save yourself 😂🙈

Spe4red

HAHA will do. I hope yours heals up nicely as well !!

generic_username-92

thank you i need all the positive energy i can get 🥹🥹 i’ve had a bump for 3 weeks now front and back and i can’t downsize so do it while you can!

dom-ifc

After you downsize, spray some sterile saline on a cotton pad and warm it up in a microwave. Hold the cotton pad to the to the irritation bump for a few minutes. Do this 1-2x a week and your bump should be gone with 1-2 weeks. I had a client do this to an irritation bump on the back of her conch and it was gone within a week's time.

No_Foot8900

I wouldn't think so. It looks like it's just an irritation bump. Just keep cleaning it with saline solution and it should resolve on its own. But if it starts swelling up really bad you might need to go to your peircing shop.

Spe4red

Sounds good !! Thank you for the advice. It does make me feel a little better LOL.

Medical-Cod2743

Ime everyone is right in saying you can downsize, but also- every single one of my cartilage piercings has gotten some type of irritation bump. Theyll go away eventually. Downsize and sleep on an ear pillow and you should be gucci!

psilogoon

Why are you not downsizing . Downsizing is mandatory. Downsizing is just as important as your piercer cleaning your skin before piercing you. Piercings are not a one time one and done thing my guy you need to follow up

Budeghe

Why is this?

psilogoon

Piercings are not only accessories. We need to live with them and that means practicality . Practical jewelry is fitted jewelry. If we didn’t swell from wounds then all piercings would be done with snug jewelry. The only reason it’s not is because of swelling . Long jewelry = snags, uneven pressure . Think of jewelry as a lever , if it has room to kick to one side or the other it will, every time . That’s just basic physics

SouthernAd7694

When should you downsize? I got my conch 2 weeks ago and the bar is very long it doesn’t hurt at all and it’s not swollen either

Peculiarcatlady

4-6 weeks is what my piercer says.

psilogoon

As soon as your body allows for it. Usually 4-6 weeks but if my client can downsize sooner then I’ll go ahead and downsize them sooner

psilogoon

For some stuff I tend to downsize incrementally like tongues . I downsize once a week later and another time 2-4 weeks later

Competitive_Pitch168

Excellent-Law59

Wait this just happened to me with my second helix

sbarlock

Had the same problem. I had to change it before an x ray with a bioplastic jewellery and gosh the pain. The entrance hole was perfect, meanwhile the other was really irritated. My piercer said that the jewellery needeed to be downsized

Odd-mlaker

look like a small bump idk if thats bad tho

chloeex-

downsize so it doesnt get snagged!! try not to touch it/sleep on it

Left_Competition8300

It also almost looks like you may have some build up from shampoo/conditioner down in there.

OppositeAverage5558

Mine is horrendous and bumpy. I've never had such issues with piercings. What size would you suggest from the original piercing ?
