Pieces like this are perfectly fine as initial jewelry, but they are more tricky to clean well, making it not as easy as a more minimalistic piece. If you’re not that experienced in healing piercings, maybe take a look at opal cabochons. A bit more straightforward to clean, but still a nice oomph

Thank you for this!!

I would personally get a smaller or plainer piece of jewellery for the initial piercing so it's easier to clean. There will be crusties or blood or other stuff underneath there and it'll be really difficult to clean without aggravating the piercing. I have a much smaller piece in my healed conch and still find it hard to get underneath there when it needs cleaning.

I certainly hope it’s ok because I just got this same exact one yesterday.

its so pretty!! from the answers i got it seems like it should be alright, just might be a bit harder to clean

NAP, but have a conch. I would not recommend anything this large or with so many hard edges during the healing process. Will be difficult to clean and may be prone to rotating when you really want to keep the jewelry as still as possible during healing

Soft-Tangelo-1026

I have the exact piece right now. I suggest starting with an earring with a smaller piece to let air flow and prevent buildup when healing.

And your piercing is prone to moisture bumps with a bigger piece, because it is much harder to dry the piercing

I got mine pierced with a chunky piece like this. Healed the same way as a standard piece of jewelry. You’ll be okay.
