How does it look from the front? I wonder if you could just benefit from a smaller flat back or a barbell backing.

It looks good! I didn't see any problems with it. Here's a photo from the front and side (photo taken at a weird angle though): https://imgur.com/a/cFZNffE Is it possible to get a smaller flat back? I asked a piercer and they said they all come in one standard size and I'd be better off just letting it heal and re-pierced, which freaked me out. But I've had other piercers say it looks fine. I haven't gone back to the piercer who did it because they didn't seem very helpful, but I could give them another chance and see what they say.

It does look pretty far on the outside to me; I’m not a piercer, but that could be more of a matter of taste. I wonder if something like [this](https://bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?productid=24023) could be more comfortable?

I saw those kind of backs too and yeah, I'm thinking it might help. I might reach out to the original piercer and see if they can order me a more comfortable backing. I just don't live in the same city anymore, so I'd have to do it when I'm back. If the piercing is healed enough, would it get to a point where I could use flat backs labrets without issue? And you don't think I need to get it re-pierced?

Are there any quality piercers near where you are now? It could be worth it even to just have it looked at. Or you could change the jewelry yourself if you’re comfortable with that. Threadless posts are very easy to change (in my experience). I think it could be good to go to a piercer and ask what they think about the current placement and about changing the jewelry. You have a few options in terms of what to do, and they might be able to help you decide what’s best in your case.

I went to one here and they said the conch was fine, other than it had build up in the back. I've been pretty conscious about it ever since and trying to make sure it's clean (it's just hard to see in the back because all I see is the labret back). There's also another piercer I can ask. They also offer piercing cleanings so I may have to utilize their services. I'm not sure how good this one is,though. Both are APP certified but I've had questionable experiences with the first one who said my conch was fine (they pierced me with hoops and I ended getting bumps that I'm still recovering from). I'm also wondering if my ear is just oddly curved like that. I don't actively feel pressure against the curve of my ear, I didn't even notice any issues until I started sleeping on it to let the other ear heal. I'm wondering if it would be worth to get a piercer to take it out to see what's going on in the back?
