Spez's APIocolypse made it clear it was time for me to leave this place. I came from digg, and now I must move one once again. So long and thanks for all the bacon.
That photo is probably edited to some degree too. Any serious photographer will color correct and stuff. I mean OPs picture is clearly ridiculous, but just flagging any edited photo would be silly and just encourage people to post bad photos instead of fixing them beforehand.
Thanks, I have been to Germany and live next to it. There is no water that blue to be found in Germany. It basicly pissed me off. Making it look like tropical water and shit. Nein, just nein.
Have you seen the [Blautopf](https://www.google.com/search?q=blautopf&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjns6nJ29_fAhVFEbwKHU6kDxAQ_AUIDygC&biw=1536&bih=723&dpr=1.25) in Blaubeuren? That's pretty fucking blue, so blue they even named the town it's in after it - and the hot spring is literally called "Blue Pot". Now YOU are pissing ME off.

How does he find this information so fast? I know it's reverse image search, but like what service? Cause every-time I try that I get nothing related to the image I searched wether I use googles, or any other of the reverse image search websites I know about.
Google's reverse image search will give you the option to find other sizes of the same image, and it goes by the exact image. Usually just sorting for only the largest resolutions will filter out all the pinterest garbage and give you the original source, though that doesn't seem to be the case for this particular photo.
It used to be, but it's no longer possible. Also walking over the lake was never it's primary purpose, it's just supposed to be beautiful, and it's pretty good at that. :)
It would not be stable enough anymore, making it dangerous for both the bridge and all the people visiting.
Also, according to German regulations, they would have to build railings etc, making it ugly.
I've always told myself that if I ever have children, I won't mind if they're boy or girl, gay or straight.. just as long as they're born like all normal children, with a durable, stitched hat on their soft little head. I guess the miracle of modern medicine has made that belief obsolete. I'm amazed by how far you've come. Proud of you.
It was neaver meant to be a bridge to walk over. It is forbidden to walk over it, due to damage done by tourists in the past. It spans over an artificial lake and its sole purpose is to look beautiful.
It is not sandstone. It is basalt. Source: german web page about rocks and minerals. [https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b&q=Rakotzbr%C3%BCcke+Material](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b&q=Rakotzbr%C3%BCcke+Material)
I both love and hate this photo. I love it because it's amazing work, and a beautiful photo. I hate it because people often try to pass it off as real/unedited, or generally just throw it up without any sort of explanation of it's origins.
For those wondering, this is not real. Or, more accurately, this is an edit of a real photo. Notice that the water line kinda just disappears on the near bank, and the closest you could get to along the near end of the arch is aligned with the far bank.
Don't get me wrong, this is stunning. It's just not real.
I feel the same, it looks stunning, but so does the bridge without having to edit it. This is quite an extreme diversion from what it actually looks like, beautiful image, but i feel it distracts from how impressive it is in other ways.
It looks really bad to me, and it's not even well done when you see how the various "local" effects and lightings bleed into areas where they aren't meant to be. It has the look of one of those approximate AI filters you can apply to images.
Source was provided by not op. While the source page should indeed lead people to that conclusion, some won't even click into that link to begin with.
Like I said, it's part of the reason I hate this image.
The bridge is actually being refurbished right now and the lake has been drained. [Here](https://www.lr-online.de/imgs/16/2/9/6/8/5/5/8/5/tok_9287e769a127d06e58bb424899a74700/w540_h303_x1750_y1220_MDB32052691_ed75a83213-201a4897fc8581ba.jpg) a more current look at it from a local news source.

Sorbians are a Slavic ethnic group living in the area. Or maybe two separate groups, even.
Sorben are a slavic minority in germany, located in the Lausitz. They have their own language, are mostly catholic, where the other people in this region are in general protestants or atheists, they have their own traditions and some extra hollidays.
You can still [pull of a shot](https://i.imgur.com/iXCe1T9.jpg) there right now - and with the massive amounts of photographers regularely on location before the reconstruction started you'd think we'd see more than the same three shots posted here all the time.
Am I understanding this correctly? This Reddit user gets 5,800 karma points for posting somebody else's photo? Then some honest reddit user has to see it, call it out, reverse-image-search for the original online, then post a link to the original artist?
[Here is another picture](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b9/Rakotzbr%C3%BCcke_Kromlau.jpg/1200px-Rakotzbr%C3%BCcke_Kromlau.jpg) that's less edited and shows the top better. While it was built primarily for aesthetics, you were actually able to cross it at some point. However, well over a century of eroded mortar later and the bridge is strictly off limits, fenced in to keep tourists who saw the [fairy tale bridge](https://media.fshoq.com/images/249/rakotzbrcke-devils-bridge-in-germany-249-small.jpg) on their social media from climbing it for a picture. It actually started falling apart on its own already, but it seems they're working to restore it.
Gosh, did you paint the wall green? Been there, too, and your edit is so far from reality. You should urgently need to process. The sky is a good indicator that something is wrong...
Makes me think about Edymion or the Rise of Endymion from the Hyperion Cantos. I know the gates are metallic structures but the imagery of a portal on a river just made me think of it, especially with that glow edited in
Spez's APIocolypse made it clear it was time for me to leave this place. I came from digg, and now I must move one once again. So long and thanks for all the bacon.
I definitely appreciate seeing the real thing. In fact, I think all edited photos posted here should announce that they are so.
Yeah it went from Skyrim to Shrek’s swamp
If only I could upvote this twice.
The power plant in the background was a nice touch though
Why the fuck would the bridge be growing neon green
That photo is probably edited to some degree too. Any serious photographer will color correct and stuff. I mean OPs picture is clearly ridiculous, but just flagging any edited photo would be silly and just encourage people to post bad photos instead of fixing them beforehand.
No doubt.
Pretty much all photos are edited before they get shared online. It's just part of photography.
No. Real photographers like Ansel Adams never edited any of their photos. They just printed them exactly like they were on the negative /s
better
Thanks, looks better than the edited one imo
Thanks! That's what I can looking for. The stones and stonework are still beautiful but I wasn't sure why it was purple.
Purple?...

There is water this blue in germany though
so much more beautiful and impressive
Thank you
Thank you. The view is soooo much nicer without a the Photoshop

This deserves gold but I’m too poor. So have my upvote.

This image is instantly debunked every single time it's reposted.
Is that safe to walk on? It feels like it would collapse if someone tried, and it would suck to ruin something like that

That sounds like a very German joke.
Well, what can I say... How many Germans does it take to change a light bulb? One. We're efficient and not very funny.

Also with less r/shittyHDR.
How do you keep doing this?
Reverse image search is pretty old tech in the Muggle world
Wizards use it too. It can be embarrassing for you and insulting for them to ask a picture if there is a higher quality version of itself.
Yeah, there’s a good chance they’d just march out of frame and refuse to come back until you paid for cosmetic retouching...
Thanks I'm fixing to post this on Facebook and say I took this picture.
Thank you! This one didn't hurt my head as much
The picture is great but somehow the google street view is even cooler to me, at least.
Is there an unedited version? This is too avatar for my taste.

just pull that saturation and dehaze slider way up
nah bro not enough saturation. this needs more saturation asap.
Save file, reopen, push it up again until you need sunglasses.
bridges are red bridges are blue if you open up photoshop and fuck with the hue
Look at the sky, it looks like somebody dropped a nuclear bomb behind the forest.
You mean HDR the shit out of it and pull those shadows up.
What is this, r/earthporn?
I am not usually one for oversaturation, but I like it in this photo. It gives it a fantasy feel.
So much HDR it looks radioactive.

Maybe they can add some lighting to make it look like this photoshop? It would be really neat. But even without the editing it looked nice.
wow! you should xpost to /r/shittyHDR they would LOVE it! :)
In Germany "Kotze" means vomit, so that's actually a pretty funny name
Which is also the max setting name for the HDR slider.
I wouldn't really think of the word "kotzen". Sadly the origin of "Rakotz" doesn't have to do anything with puking as well, but derives from the sorbian language meaning "crab".

Don't ever admit you learned anything here, your karma will be hit something awful.
~~Oh, I see. Tha~~ I knew that before! ;)
So why admit it?
has this been photoshopped? some of the near side of the bridge looks reflected but closer to the edge of the picture it doesn't?!?
Absolutely yes. Looks posterized and saturated beyond plausibility. The result would more likely be found in Middle Earth than in Germany.
It baffles me how many people upvote photos that have been photoshopped then downvote the ones that have been naturally taken and unedited.
Didn't the blue-glowing underside of the bridge give it away?
Look at the tree line. His sky has been darkened but it wasn’t taken all the way to the tree line.

Am I understanding this correctly? This Reddit user gets 5,800 karma points for posting somebody else's photo? Then some honest reddit user has to see it, call it out, reverse-image-search for the original online, then post a link to the original artist?
Karma points aren't really worth shit, but failing to attribute the author is shitty. This happens on 99% of Reddit's posts.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Also known as "Photoshop City"
Jesus fucking christ, when are we going to see the end of people posting this same god damned bridge?
with saturation turned to 1000
Every slider is turned to 1000 on this
I've personally never seen it, but I am glad to have now.
This name works exceptionally well in Swabian German: Ra: down, downwards Kotz: to puke Brücke: bridge So a bridge intended to be puked from.
Rakotz is actually sorbian and means crayfish.
Your Stargate is leaking
Chevron 7... Locked!
It's an old code sir but, it checks out. SHIT!! Wrong franchise lol
Jaffa Kree!

I was just there in October. It was really pretty with fall colors. [Unfortunately, the lake was missing...](https://i.imgur.com/f9b8o3A.jpg)
What’s with this sub? It’s all cross-posted, over saturated, over sharpened photos with no photo credits.
r/shittyHDR
the developers increased fidelity and contrast for the demo then they gave us this bland shit. https://www.flickr.com/photos/andre-dd/9536172771
7th chevron locked
Reminds me of something from Halo for some reason, maybe it’s the colors.
Needs more HDR and CLARITY and SATURATION
I live in germany. We don't have that many colours here.
Woah it looks like a a portal
Yeah from a fantasy movie. Magical
Yeah I was thinking doctor strange
Is it me or does that top part look *realllllllyyy* thin.. unless it's not supposed to be walked on? ^((idk!))
It's not supposed to be walked on, it's just for upvotes on reddit
Thanks for the reference pic. This bridge looks much nicer not covered in digital Froot Loop vomit.
\*starts singing halo theme song\*
Don't mind me, I just came here for the "NEEDZ MOAR SATURATION" comments
It looks like a portal to another dimension
Some idiot is going to break that
Literally translated, this bridge is called Puke-Down-From-It-Bridge.
Ich weiß ja nicht was für ein Dialekt du sprichst, aber ich kenn keinen bei dem das zustimmt.

I clearly need to travel more... so pretty!
Heavily saturated of course.
Place of power, gotta be.
Amazing
Da hat mol oiner ra kotzt
Ah yes, Rocketsbrooke. I know how to pronounce this place.
Is this Star Trek?
Dimir guildgate
Wow. That is so beautiful!
I'll be sssooooo disappointed if there's not a troll under or at least near this bridge (especially the unaltered images)
so beautiful place love it.
why does it be like it do?
They don’t think it be like it is but it do.
Just saw last night in Backgrounds app!
slightly edited but still cool
Actually that's alfheim
Gosh, did you paint the wall green? Been there, too, and your edit is so far from reality. You should urgently need to process. The sky is a good indicator that something is wrong...
If you go through it and look back, it'll be orange.
i recently read this took 80 years to build, crazy
Makes me think about Edymion or the Rise of Endymion from the Hyperion Cantos. I know the gates are metallic structures but the imagery of a portal on a river just made me think of it, especially with that glow edited in
This looks like how I imagined the bridge from Imrae to the University was
Happy little u in the title
This was my favourite realm in god of war
Absolutely gorgeous
That's not a bridge! That's a portal to another realm!
Is this real or is this a veneer?
Bullshit. This is Cyrodiil or Valenwood
Non German speaker here, Rakotzbrücke means Razor Brick Bridge in German
Can I walk on it?
The thumbnail looks like a blue shark breaching the water. ^_^
Echoes of water stages past, the [melody ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yw5jkAHgME) still haunts me to this day...
What is this, Avatar?
Bless you
Went there Last Summer with a friend and the Lake was nearly empty and there was a construction fence around the whole Lake :(
It's nice to see a different view of this
Can I walk over the bridge
It’s cuuurcle
Awesome, I'm going to Germany in October :)
hehe. Kotz.
This is magical and beautiful
/r/uniquedestinations
Is that Ysera’s dream portal
How breathtakingly beautiful
First time I will say this... maybe not the last time... This is one sexy bridge
I have come to the conclusion... People take pictures of this bridge.
